Giant notebooks that frame expressions, sound installations that play with Moleskine bags and small tools, evocative tastings, wines and fruity cocktails. In New York, at Exit Art, the cultural center for contemporary art in Chelsea, Moleskine opens the doors to art and creativity, playing with the five senses. The central theme is the portrait.

The sensory experiences include, "Faces," Emilie Balz's photographic portraits, "Phase," Philipp Stearns' sound travels and "Tastes," psycho-tastings by expert Brian Quinn.

myDetour and notebooks from the Ateliers

The collaboration between Moleskine and the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa (BLM) is now an exhibit: 32 notebooks created by artists from the Ateliers, from 2008 to the present, will be on display at Palazzetto Tito in Venice from February 3 to 26 along with works collected from different stops along the myDetour journey: New York, Paris, Berlin, Istanbul, San Francisco, Tokyo, Shanghai and many other cities.

Wearing special cotton gloves, visitors will be able to leaf through the illustrated, painted and written notebooks, page by page, so as to observe and understand the creative process of the artists who made them.

The notebook as a free platform for creativity is the basis of the collaboration between Moleskine and the Fondazione BLM, which has been supporting and promoting the creativity of young artists in the field of contemporary art for over one hundred years.

Portraits in New York

Interactive sound gadgets, installations for mirror portraits, sets for animated illustrations, psycho-tastings. Moleskine presents a new artistic-sensory workshop at Exit Art, a cultural center for contemporary art in Chelsea, in Manhattan. The central theme is the portrait in all its forms: through sounds, video, tastes, drawing, photography and writing. To describe ourselves through the places we visit, the images we share, the objects we cling to, the marks we leave behind, the tastes we savor.

The portraits will be made collaboratively by artists and the public, using and combining various objects from Moleskine collections: bags, pencils, pens, notebooks. The performances are led by artists of different origins, including Emilie Baltz, Philip Stearns and Brian Quinn. For more information, click here.

Women Create Life

Women Create Life merges contemporary art and design to increase awareness and generate resources to improve the health of women and children worldwide. It's the artistic and social project of the World Health Organization (WHO) whose aim is to render the public more sensitive to the maternal and newborn health.

Moleskine collaborates with a special edition notebook which embraces the spirit of Women Create Life, including a booklet with stories and portraits of women painted by artist Elisabetta Farina.

A modular space where you can insert and hold objects. A pocket that is open on two sides suited to various uses. This is the adjustable double flap in the Messenger Bag, a versatile space to put those items that don't fit in the bag or that we prefer to keep handy. Rolled up papers, tubes, umbrellas, jackets, newspapers, maybe a bouquet of flowers...

The size is adjustable using a series of snaps. When needed, the farthest position wraps around the bag closing it onto itself completely, protecting even the bottom.

Colored mini stickers

Black, purple, green, red, blue and brown. These are the ink colors chosen for the Moleskine pens. A downloadable gift

Moleskine celebrates the coming of the new year with a small downloadable gift for its fans, a paper toy. This year's gift is the Paper Caper. It starts out in the shape of a Moleskine band. Working with scissors and folds, you can transform it into a kaleidoscope of continuously changing patterns, to be used as decoration, as a place card or as a simple toy.

The Paper Caper is made starting from a single sheet of paper, folding the different sections without removing any pieces. It is based on the Asian art of origami, the art of paper folding. The finished product is a three-dimensional shape with a hexagonal base.

You can download it in different colors and layouts, complete with instructions, from the MSK area. Have a good time cutting, folding and refolding.

Performance of Nomadic Type at La Rinascente in Milan

Two artisans, a press, some black ink and ten words inspired by travelling, writing and reading to personalize your notebook. Moleskine launches a new event that will travel the world: T.y.p.e. - Try Your Personal Experience, a workshop that is open to the public where you can admire and learn the ancient technique of movable type printing.

The collective of artists who handcrafted the matrices will print the words you select on the cover of your Cahier notebook. All the printing steps live.

After the experimental launch in Milan, the workshop will make its next stops in Berlin and Paris.
