This is the story of a ham and egger. A close friend of mine uses that term quite often and his definition of a ham and egger is someone who's out in the real world grunting out a living. I wish I could say that I'm rich and famous but I'm not. I'm just like 90% of the population out there grunting out a living with one exception. In 1991 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It's hard to believe it's been 14 years. I love to talk and when you're reading this if it seems like I'm rambling from one topic to another I probably am. That's a part of my MS called disinhibition.

I love to have fun and I've been told I have a great personality. I'm very honest and trustworthy. I would give the shirt off my back to someone that needed it. Next summer will be 15 years since my diagnosis and I'm still out there grunting! At times I get down but I don't stay that way very long. There is so much to do in life. If you can get over the fact that you're going to be doing those things sitting down it helps a person to accept their disease. In my e-book I want to explain MS and some of my MS symptoms. I also want to tell you about my new website that I just started on the internet. My new website has my e-book, articles and my FREE newsletter there that anyone can subscribe to.

I'm 48 now and I can trace my symptoms back to at least 1980. I've had this disease in my body for half of my life. I remember when I was a little boy growing up in Rochester, Minnesota. A public service announcement on TV (this was the 60's) showed people in wheelchairs with the tag line, "MS, the crippler of young adults". I don't think that tag line would work well these days in our politically correct world but back then it was OK. I myself was diagnosed at the age of 33. It's ironic that I now have the disease but I can still remember that commercial 40 years ago.

MS is a very humbling disease. When a man has to buy his first pair of Depends underwear at the age of 47 you are HUMBLED! Believe me your ARE humbled. My friend Eric was going into Fargo one day and I asked him to pick me up a bag of Depends just to see what he would say. He's 39, laughed, and said "no thanks, I can't do that! I gave him some grief and then laughed with him. When your 4-year old can run faster than you you're humbled. People with diseases like MS just have to adjust their lives accordingly.

When I finally went in to see a neurologist in 1991 I was unsure what the heck was wrong with me. I had eyesight problems, numbness and tingling all over my body, I was having trouble urinating, I wasn't sleeping too well, I had a slight limp and a myriad of other problems happening to my body. What could be wrong with me I asked? It had taken me a year to get in to see an eye doctor and it would be another 3-6 months before I finally had the diagnosis I was looking for. Believe it or not by the end I was actually relieved that I had MS! I didn't know what course it would take but at least I had a name for all my symptoms. I also knew that I didn't have a stroke, cancer, ALS, or any other major problem. I had been on a roller coaster ride for over a year wondering what was wrong but now I knew!

In the past 3 years my MS has taken my legs from me hence the title of my e-book. I can stumble around my apartment but if I need to go anywhere I ride my scooter. I also have severe fatigue which can come on at anytime and anywhere. It's more of a disability than my legs!

If you become highly successful and are concerned about liabilities, I would suggest taking the next step and forming a LLC.

The Internet isn't called "The Information Super Highway" for nothing. A person can make a very good living selling nothing but information on it. You have the ability to sell anything that the enclycopedias had and more back when they sold those door to door years ago. The populations of every industrialized nation in the world have learned that if you want to know anything about anything, you get on a computer and ask the question. They have also learned that you must pay for special information and they are more than willing to do just that. A person who has special knowledge of a subject and could be considered a 'guru' has a market for selling that information on the Internet.

All that needs to be done is to set up a website, publish, advertise and market the information. A simple online storefront will allow sales to roll in. It's a wonderful concept and information is a wonderful commodity. There is no inventory to maintain and no shipping or handling costs involved to deliver the product. Everybody gets what they want. The seller gets paid for delivering information to a person who wants that information..everybody is happy.

There are so many advantages of working from home for the individual as well as for owners of large businesses that it is truly the way that 'work' will be done more and more in the future. We've seen people make larges amounts of income from this type of Niche marketing.

Is That Traffic Really Free?

Website owners, net wide, all seek the same thing, traffic! Ideally, the traffic most sought after is, of course, highly targeted traffic. Traffic sources derive from numerous places online including, but not limited to, search engines and other people's websites.

Many claim there is free traffic to be had for the taking, but is this really true? Is it fair to call this traffic "free?" I think not. At a minimum, the website owner must pour hours, days, weeks, months and years into doing one primary thing - optimizing his or her website to receive quantities of this "free" resource. Grabbing the attention of the various search engines and surfers looking for your information is a critical component to online success. Time, therefore, becomes a key factor. Is your time really free?

Consider, for the moment, that the one thing no one can buy more of is time. Our time on this planet is predetermined. Time, therefore, has value. The particular amount one places on one's own time is, of course, different. But do not fool yourself. Even if you think, "I've got plenty of free time!" still the clock ticks and what you are doing is allotting that portion of your life to your online endeavor.

So when those "in the know" tell you it is easy as can be to reap the benefits of "free traffic" online, what it is they are really saying? What they are telling you is to optimize your own website so specifically to keywords and keyword phrases that apply to your website, that, over time, you stand the potential for being placed well in search engines and found by others.

What happens next? Well a website or blog fully created and functioning will not do you a bit of good if no one knows its there. When they talk about free traffic, and search engines indexing you, you need to make sure said search engines know you exist. Once developed, your marketing and advertising of said website begins. And, you will be doing yourself and your website a disservice if you believe this can be done totally for free.

Let's face it, the guy in the know recommending pay per click cannot possibly mean "free traffic." Done incorrectly, pay per click can end up costing the website owner a small fortune. Yes, ads can be placed around the internet for free, again with the idea of driving free traffic to your site, but without proper assistance the very placement of these ads will cost you - at a minimum - your time (if not the investment in technology) to work this one avenue alone effectively. Not exactly free.

Starting a blog is often said to be an effective way for a would-be online entrepreneur to gain recognition. This is most certainly an alternative to building and maintaining a regular website. However, to be truly effective, blog owners network and post, post, post to ensure the search engine spiders and bots find them. And, while blogger is free to create, the time one invests to grab that "free traffic" is anything but.

Just keep in mind when reading about "free" this and "free" that, that underlying it all is the message that while the creation of "it" may be free (yes there are free ways to host websites and blogs), there also is only so much one can do oneself. Highly optimizing your website and/or blog is the critical component to gaining the advantage of free search engine traffic. However, time - be it your own or the powers that be behind the spidering and indexing - is a valuable, limited commodity and should be treated as such.

Putting That Making Money Online Thing In Perspective

Where is your head, heart, and expectations when it comes to trying your hand at making money online? Are you one of the millions of many willing to believe just about anything - or are you someone who is willing to go the long haul to accomplish your goals?

Granted this may not be the way things go for you online, but more often than not (and if not, hats off to you) the reality is that the overnight sensation the guru online would like you to believe is false.

Take a look at this. It is just a portion of an email I received this morning from a very well known internet marketer (a guy making the really big bucks):

This is NOT a plug or endorsement for his product, the purpose is to show you that Rome was not, and still is not, built in a day. Or even a week. Or a month. Or sometimes a single year.

7 years - an investment in time, money, creativity, money, time, money, research, education, networking, time, money.

Now he is in position. Now he will be the one to make the big bucks. Yes, the idea he is selling is that by buying into his, you also can make it big riding on his coat tails.

But will you?

Maybe.

The point to this article isn't that there is a sucker born every minute; instead, it is to reinforce the concept that to make money online, to "make it big," you also must be willing to put in the time and money required to achieve similar success.

Will it come from buying into someone else's something? Maybe. But you should make note that he developed his own thing - and as he shares that with you, he's going to rake in the big bucks.

Do your own thing and then, once that is established with web advertising and search engine recognition, look to other people's products to supplement what your own pulls in for you.

A good friend of mine recently told me that her internet marketing teacher states if you are not willing to give your efforts online at least one year - while you build your web site's potential - then you do not belong online (or in her class). Yes, a completely unknown outside source validating what we all should know to be true.

Patience, education, time, money, creativity, drive, determination, motivation, and a strong desire to succeed.

An interesting, and important, bit of research came to my attention today. It is not that I have been totally unaware of this, but today was the first time in a long time that I have had the 'leisure' to truly investigate. Having conducted my albeit quick investigation, and after gathering web site statistics from several sources, I would like to present my findings.

But first, if you are like many web site owners, often you may rely on "outside sources" to track the efficiency and effectiveness of your web site's performance. Putting more stock in other people's programs and tracking, often people become discouraged that their web site advertising and/or internet marketing is not "paying off." They tend to believe that the big name behind a program must mean they are right and you are wrong. That their tracking is better and more accurate than one's own.

Strangely enough, the truth is often times not the whole truth and nothing but. Take a quick peek at several areas online I use for one of my own domains. Frankly, I use most of them for fun - and I do mean fun - because you are about to discover how very "off" those 'tried and true' sources can be:

All of these programs/services are designed to give the website owner additional insight into their traffic and more.

So which am I most likely to believe? You are right, that is a no brainer question. One's cpanel stats are the most, and frankly only, reliable source of information about one's website. Third party systems help give different perspectives on your web advertising and internet marketing, but obviously have limited capabilities. Only your own domain's cpanel (or whatever yours may be called) have the real skinny on how your web site is performing.

Learn to read your own web site's information. It is there for the asking, taking, reading, and analyzing. Then take the information you gather and use it to your best advantage. Discover where your visitors are arriving from, and what page they tend to land on. Figure out how many of those visitors remain on your web site or uncover the points at which they scurry away. Plug the holes and keep them on your web site by playing up your web site's best features. Rearrange your presentation - eliminate "bad pages" if need be. Highlight what others are truly coming to your web site to find and give them a reason to stay.

Stop trusting blindly in "the other guy." Your own domain stats are your only reliable method to analyze and increase your online web site presence. Make your web site advertising and internet marketing even more effective by discovering what draws visitors to your site or what turns them away.

And, here is yet another valid reason why doing business online really means shouldering the responsibility of creating your own virtual real estate; without your own cpanel you may be just second guessing yourself and wasting time and money.

How will you know how well - or poorly - your web site is doing if your tracking is not up to snuff?

In a world gone mad with the concept and reality of internet marketing, website owners struggle day in and day out to stay ahead of their competitors.

So what makes a website "popular?" What elevates one guy's (or gal's) website over and above the next? Is it that stirring copy? Are words what dazzle? Or, could it be something else entirely?

Overall outsourcing is viewed by many organizations as a strong business tactic that ultimately is a superior economical approach to developing products and services.

Backlinks are incoming links to a website or web page. The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node (Björneborn and Ingwersen, 2004). Backlinks are also called as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.

Search engines often use the number of backlinks that a website has as one of the factors for determining that website's search engine ranking. For example, Google's PageRank algorithm uses backlinks to help determine a site's rank. To see a site's PageRank, you need to use the Google Toolbar for Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, view the bar graph indicating a website's PageRank in Google's directory, or download the PageRank plugin for Mozilla Firefox.

When you think of someone who has chosen to work at home, do you see the possibilities for yourself? The truth of the matter is that when you work at home, you really can be successful while at the same time avoiding the detriments that accompany working outside of your house. With some real motivation, a belief in yourself and the products you will be working with, as well as a little bit of available space in your house, you too can be one your way to a successful work at home venture.

The most clearly visible benefit to being able to work at home is that you will be working for yourself, so that means you will be making all of the rules. If you honestly feel like making some phone calls and doing some paperwork in your robe while you are sitting by the pool, then there is no one there to reprimand your relaxed state of (un)dress. As a matter of fact, as your own boss, you can be as comfortable as you need or want to be at any point in the workday. Also, since you don't have far to go to get to work, you can take your sweet time in the morning. That fact alone is enough to get people pining for the chance to work at home.

By the same token, when you work at home, yes, you are the boss, but that also means that you are in charge of all aspects of the business. Self-motivation is so necessary, especially for anyone who is accustomed to working for someone else. You have to be ready to set up clear objectives for your business and hold yourself to those standards. An optimum way to accomplish this is to have a designated work space and work hours. That way, you know the boundaries between your home life and your work life, and you will be less likely to get your two lives confused with each other. When you work at home, the convenience of being able to wash the dishes in between conference calls may seem great, but in reality it is blurring the line between work and home, and that spells disaster. So as the boss, you are responsible for making sure that does not happen.

Of equal importance to the success of the work at home is treating it like a real business, since it is a real business. Think about it this way: if you wouldn't do it in an office full of fellow employees, then do not do it at your home office, either.

So in the end, starting a work at home business can be just the answer for someone who has no desire to work for someone else. A successful person who works at home is one who knows that there are clear boundaries between personal and work lives, and stays within those lines. Also, having the house do double duty as a home and an office offers a level of comfort that cannot be found anywhere else. While there can be some issues in the form of having specially assigned work space and guidelines for conducting business, it is still a great option for those who want to be the boss, not be bossed.

But with all that, it still seems that some clients go on looking for promises never made and have a hard time dealing with certain realities. Understandably, it is their money on the line and they want to get a return on their investment quickly, but sometimes quick is just not possible.

The tobacco plant is something that has been in use for some time, and is quite a popular crop. Despite the fact that everyone has pretty much heard of tobacco and knows what it is used for, not too many know things about the tobacco plant such as that it is grown in warm areas and that it is very lucrative as a crop.

Obviously, tobacco leaves are used for smoking and chewing. Did you know that the leaves are the only part of the tobacco plant that is used? Another interesting tidbit that is not widely known is that nicotine, which is an addictive chemical, is naturally found in the tobacco plant.

Also, the tobacco plant is not a natural occurrence anywhere other than the Americas. In all other regions, the tobacco plant has been brought by man. This occurred many years ago, as the tobacco plant has been around for hundreds of years at least. In the past, people thought that the tobacco plant had health benefits or medicinal purposes, and so that is what it was originally used for.

Very few have ever actually seen a tobacco plant, so it may be a surprise to find that it resembles a bush. These tobacco plants have a shallow root system, which means they do not grow too far into the earth. Only the leaves are harvested since that is the only usable part of the tobacco plant. Surprisingly, these leaves are typically a pinkish hue, and their size varies slightly from plant to plant.

The leaves of the tobacco plant are quite voluminous, in that one plant can yield quite a bit of leaf. Once the leaves are removed from the tobacco plant, they are aged through a drying process. After the leaves are ready, they are either rolled into cigars or cigarettes for smoking, or they are ground into chewing tobacco.

It is for this purpose that tobacco plants have been used for hundreds of years. Since the leaves contain nicotine, that is the most likely reason for continued cultivation; that is, the addictive property of the tobacco plant has led to its sustenance. One final element that is mostly unknown is that the tobacco plant is entirely inedible, making this crop the most-grown non-food crop in the world.

Saskatchewan Specialty: Northern Pike

Northern pike, a species of fish found all over Saskatchewan's bodies of water, is an interesting fish. This particular swimmer is quite the attacker, and is therefore well known as an easy catch by many anglers. You see, they are apt to bite at pretty much everything, so northern pike are susceptible to fishermen's hooks.

Northern pike are typically fairly small, although it is not entirely unheard of to catch one weighing in the double digits. These fish tend to reproduce in the springtime, in cooler waters than summer provides. Northern pike females lay tens of thousands of eggs at a time, and soon the hatchlings are on their own.

In the beginning of life, a northern pike may choose vegetation, but they soon turn carnivorous, seeking out other fish for meals. Northern pike have extremely sharp teeth, but when they strike at prey - which more often than not occurs as a surprise attack - it is interesting to note that they rarely chew the fish; rather, they simply swallow large pieces.

The reason for this is likely due to the fact that northern pike are, again, less likely to slowly feast and more likely to cut their prey into a few bites and devour them.

Ripples on the surface that disturb the water's surface increase oxygen. In addition, if you are planning a fish-only tank, then replacing your lighting is not necessary. However, keep in mind that you will need to replace lighting if you start adding coral reefs to your tank. Coral does need specific lighting, your local fish store can help you select the right lights.

MISTAKES TO AVOID

A saltwater mistake most commonly made is the assumption that adding salt to the water changes it to a saltwater tank. Big mistake! You will only end up killing any coral reefs and your tropical fish. Saltwater bacteria is completely different from the bacteria in freshwater. One way to speed up the process would be to find a friend (or friendly pet store) willing to let you scoop some of their aquarium substrate from their warm saltwater aquarium and transfer it to your temperate saltwater aquarium. Purchasing a refractometer and hydrometer to test salinity prior to your fish transfer is also critical. Your tank's salinity should have a specific gravity that is between 1.020 and 1.026.

One factor many new saltwater aquarium owners are unaware of is that saltwater causes rust. Check your tank and filtration system regularly. If you notice rust starting to form, replace your equipment.

ADDING YOUR FISH

Research your preferred fish type before you stock. As varied in appearance as tropical fish are, so is their diet. Most tropical fish varieties exist off a combination diet of fresh, frozen, and live food in addition to fish flakes. Never store frozen fish food longer than three months. If you are purchasing a fish that is going to need a great deal of live food, plan ahead!

BACKUP MEASURES

And last but not least, it is recommended that you have a small tank on hand that can be used as a quarantine tank. Isolating sick fish for treatment will help ensure the survival of your healthy stock. Proper equipment, proper diet, regular cleaning and vigilante observation will help increase your enjoyment of your new saltwater aquarium and the life and happiness of your tropical fish.

4 Simple Steps For A Strong Stomach Workout

Most people begin a healthy abdominal workout routine with one goal in mind: a flatter stomach. The real reason to start working that region though should be to strengthen the muscles. Flatter is good, firmer is better, but making strength your ultimate goal is ideal. Sure a smooth, flat stomach looks good, but you have accomplished little if your stomach muscles do not gain any strength.

Another common mistake most people make is that your abdominals are really two different parts. Your outer abdominals and your inner core. To flatten and strengthen therefore requires working both areas of your abdominal area to achieve your goal.

If you begin with the core muscles you can quickly build on the rest. Always begin any exercise routine by warming up first. Side stepping for a minute or two at a minimum, enough to stretch and loosen up first, will go a long way to avoiding injury and increasing your health related results. (Remember always consult your physician before beginning any workout routine, especially if you have existing health problems).

Here are a few healthy stomach exercises that work the core:

Torso Toning

Begin this stomach exercise on all fours, knees and hands on the floor. Keep your stomach pulled in and extend your left arm out in front of you (football fans, imagine a referee signaling first down). Keep this arm outstretched as you extend your right leg out behind you. Switch arms and legs, and repeat for an entire set. Take particular care not to let your pelvis sway out of position.

Make Your Butt Burn

Lie on your back for this exercise and use a mat or towel to cushion your spine. Bend your knees so your feet are flat on the floor, and position your arms at your sides. Squeeze your buttocks as you lift your pelvis off the floor. Keep the rest of your body in line. Raise your pelvis to about forty-five degrees, so your upper body from your head to your knees makes a straight, flat ramp. Hold this for three to five seconds before slowly lowering your pelvis back to the floor. Repeat for an entire set.

A "Crunchless" Crunch

While simple in theory, this stomach exercise can be fairly difficult to perform. Essentially, it involves trying to pull the belly button in towards the spine. This can be tricky, as it involves using muscles which you may not be used to activating. To start, either lie or on your stomach or kneel. You might want to try both ways and see which helps you feel the exercise better. Relax your body as much as possible, then try to use only the lower abdominals to move your belly button toward your spine. Hold for ten seconds. If this feels easy, hold for a longer period. The goal is to hold the contraction until you either cannot feel it, or you feel other muscles working harder than the transverse abdominus. When you feel this, let the contraction out.

Kick Those Scissors

Again lie down on the floor and position your hands under your butt, keeping your back pressed against the floor. Slowly raise one leg to a height of about ten inches, then slowly lower it back to the floor. As your lower one leg, raise the other. Repeat this motion for an entire set. Maintaining control throughout is important, not allowing momentum to get the better of you. Your upper body should remain on the floor through the entire move.

There you have four "simple" stomach exercises to enhance your physical self, build your self esteem, and gain greater health benefits. There are tons of exercises out there, but when you choose just four, and do them on a regular basis throughout the week, you will see the results.

As you gain strength and look for other stomach building exercises to increase strength in your midsection, look for exercises that work your core. Look for exercises labelled "transverse abdominal muscles." A good place to start are Pilates designed specifically to use your core.

Chosen as the one most likely to breed strong, healthy offspring, in many animal societies the alpha male will be the only male in the pack. It is his job to impregnate the females in order for the species to survive.

Have you ever wondered, on a male human level, if having a harem is for you? You are not alone. Many of the male members of the human world look upon this strange situation with a touch of wistfulness. However, it's not all roses. What many forget is that the alpha male becomes the alpha male not by birthright but by proving over and over again that he is strong enough and intelligent enough to lead the pack. And to fight and keep that right of leadership. When the alpha male is challenged by another male for possession of his pack he fights, often to the death, to ensure that the species survives; the one who wins the right to be an alpha male is the one most likely to father strong offspring.

So back to our human world. How does this pertain to us? It's simple. Humans have their alpha males, too, we just use a different set of criteria to classify. In the human world, there are many different ways by which a male can be classified as alpha. Here are five:

1. The powerful alpha is, obviously, the man who wields the most power, both in their place of business and among their community of friends. Women attracted to this type of alpha fix their sights on a business tycoon or a politician, sometimes even royalty. These women seek out man with position and power to also claim these benefits.

2. The intellectual alpha is the man who provides brilliant dissertations on any topic. He is the one most likely to receive PhDs and, maybe even save the world. The intellectual alpha typically spends their lives in their offices or laboratories sometimes even working side by side with their mates.

3. The military alpha is that handsome guy in uniform. It is said that women love a man in uniform, and the more bars and stripes he sports the better. These men have power, a sense of adventure, and incredible stories to tell over the dinner table. In addition, if spending too much time together can be a strain, the military alpha may spend a goodly portion of his year out of the country. If this is the case, a livable harmony may never be fully developed.

4. The "bad boy" alpha takes many forms. He may be military or law enforcement - black ops or undercover, of course. He is the one with the shady past that he never reveals and at least one criminal element has issued a price on his head. Black apparel may be his chose of fashion wear, and conversation might not be his strong suit. The woman attracted to the bad boy alpha should be ready to also be ready to read his mind since he most likely will assume that you can, and will, read his.

5. The artistic alpha is the dreamer type. He is the guy who sells his paintings in a downtown museum, but may also have had showings in Italy and France. Picture a small, but expensive, cottage on the beach and spending your days and nights at home eating strawberries dipped in chocolate and reciting poetry to each other. Or make up your own dream and see it put into action.

So there are five basic alpha types. Not everyone of our human traits means loud, brassy, aggressive alpha. Not like the animal kingdom at large. But more often than not, woman are drawn to an alpha personality. And, conversely, every man in the world has known someone who fits into one of these categories, along with the women who want to date them.

Companies that sell products like lotions, potions, pills, miracle juices or miracle gas saving products aren't often to the advantage of the average person for a variety of reasons, some of which are:

The truth of how many loop holes a marketing online company has in their comp program is terrible. They pay roughly 2% to 15% so many levels deep. Then you're told that once you've filled the matrix, the money will just begin to pour in. The reality of not having enough people on your right side or too many on your left makes it virtually impossible to reach the higher level payouts.

The bulk of the money the marketing online company receives is from you, the distributor, and not from the product at all. They have a program called auto-ship which entitles you, the distributor to purchase product from them at wholesale prices. You are then required to sell said product and, hopefully, make a profit. Once you've paid for the product, they're unconcerned whether you can move it or not. They've already made their profit.

This is a favorite - the incentive of a free car or vacation for selling X amount over X amount of time. Of course if your personal volume and your group volume are at an imbalance, then you no longer qualify! So sorry! But they are very appreciative of all the money you made them trying to get that car or vacation package!

Home parties have been around for a while as everybody has friends and family they can push this crap on. Who better to obligate? It's really simple... If I wanted weight loss, I'd go to GNC. If I wanted Lotions, I'd go to Save On, Longs, or my favorite Department store. If I wanted to put additives in my gas tank, I'd go to Kragen, Chief or Pep Boys and buy a product from STP or Penzoil. You get the idea..? At least you know what you're paying for and more importantly, what you're getting for your money. You could probably take it back and get a refund as well.

How many online marketing companies offer a cure to a leading illness like cancer?! If these juices made from Acai Berry, Goji berry, Mangsteen fruit or some kind of Marine product can really cure cancer, or any other major sickness, would we be ignoring it? Come on! While I don't disregard that some of these products might have some essential qualities, I wouldn't go into business with them. Not if I want to yield returns.

How do you choose a business, and the right online marketing program, in which you can profit and be satisfied to represent? How do you know which are genuine and which are not? Well, having made the assessment that out of the number of companies on the internet that are simply bogus and only a very few are legit, I offer this simple but effective guideline to use.

Naturally your ultimate goal is to make money, honestly and wisely. What I've learned and these guidelines will help you determine what company is right for you. In weighing up a company, keep these seven steps in mind:

1. If you have to have 1000, 10,000 or 20,000 people in your organization before you make any real money. DO NOT Join. Most people will NEVER get there.

2. If you are not making at least 75% of the upfront commission when you make a sale, forget it. This means that you are doing all the work and the online marketing company and/or the person above you is making all the money.

3. If you can't speak with the owners or the corporate office via phone or webinar, forget it. I like to know who I am doing business with before I will do business with them.

4. If they teach you to hold home parties and invite all your friends. Run away fast.

5. If it is a start up or in pre launch, forget it. The chances of these companies becoming the next Amway is about as good as winning the lottery. At least with the lottery, you have a chance to win once or twice a week. Spend that money wisely instead-go to Vegas and have a blast, at least the memories will be worth it.

6. If they have a sales pitch 2-3 times a day and only 2-3 training classes per week. This means that the online marketing company is more interested in selling you than training you how to make money long term.

7. If you can't break even or get into profit with 3 sales, forget it. Remember this one!

Naturally, these are not all the rules for success on the internet, but it is a great guideline to use when accessing a marketing online company.

Bedwetting Alarms: Getting Your Child on Board

When your child has a bedwetting problem, as a parent, you'll try pretty much anything if it looks like it might help. In fact, you'll try most things a couple of times! We tried a bedwetting alarm a few years back, but it went kaput before it had any effect (goes to show you get what you pay for). Now that he's older, and we're able to get a better quality alarm (the Malem Ultimate I), we're up for the challenge again.

Overall, I think there's a lot of potential. I've heard from other moms who've had great success with different models. Some have more bells and whistles than others (literally!), but they all have the same basic idea - when it gets wet, it wakes the bedwetter up so they can run to the bathroom. Funny side note: when they've reported the happy results to their pediatricians, some docs have said it was just a coincidence - that the kid's bladder had simply matured by that time.

The alarm worked great for a few nights - a couple were actually dry, and another was almost dry. Then we went on vacation! Don't know about you, but everything from diet to excercise goes out the window when we're away from home. This was no exception!

Coming back home, we've had a challenge getting him back 'on board' with the alarm. He says he can't sleep with it going off so often! (of course not! That's kind of the whole point, right?)

We all face this problem in some way: getting your eneuretic child to get with the program, to cooperate - when it's not fun.

It's no different from getting a kid to eat veggies, brush teeth, or write thank-you notes for birthday presents. To be honest, it's not much different with adults!

Think about it - why do you choose to go to work every day (even though there are a million things you'd rather do)? Why do you choose to obey speed limits when you drive? (um... sort of!) Why do you floss your teeth? (Gosh, don't you hate it when your dentist asks you whether you've been flossing? You're so busted either way, right?!)

We do things we don't particularly want to do all the time. Why? Because the long-term benefits outweigh the short-term annoyance.

So, whether your child balks at wearing pull-ups or diapers, or wearing a bedwetting alarm, or keeping up with good hygiene to avoid a nasty rash, we're in the same boat!

Some tips:

. As always, keep your cool. Once a kid senses a power struggle, you're dead meat! Try to keep it casual. Keep your voice calm, even quieter than you normally speak.

. Find a great bribe! What really gets your child excited? Get creative about how you can create a reward for cooperation. Don't just offer something that sounds good to you - make sure it's enticing to your child.

. Praise efforts, not just results. So, if he wears the alarm - but somehow sleeps through it and soaks the bed, I'll say, "Great job on wearing the alarm! Keep it up, and it'll start really helping you stay dry."

If you choose this option to stop foreclosure, you will have avoided the pitfalls associated with having a foreclosure on your credit history, which will compromise your ability to secure another loan on a new house. In the future, you must be wary of specialty loans from sub-prime lenders, or you will find yourself in the same boat again, trying to stop a foreclosure from happening.

So in the end, it is important that your initial step to stop foreclosure is to contact the lender. The long history of lingerie begins in the ancient world, half a globe away. Though trends have certainly evolved throughout time, lingerie continues to be a market unto itself, and its uses have spanned not only continents and centuries, but also genders.

The history of lingerie begins in ancient Greece and Egypt, when women wore an early prototype of the corset for support of the breasts; the garment reached just under the breast bone. From there, it moved through time to Europe, when the nobility, both men and women, wore underclothing, much like the modern day slip or chemise, to keep the outer wear from becoming soiled.

As regular bathing became more commonplace, full bodied lingerie was no longer necessitated, though underwear did persist. Also, the corset became a means of achieving a cinched waist, a silhouette that proved incredibly uncomfortable but highly desired. The corset utilized bones to ensure no movement, and it had the effect of making the breasts and hip area protrude, which is known as the hourglass figure. Topping this contraption would be layers of petticoats, chemises, and stockings.

Over the years, the history of lingerie evolved with the times. By the 1920s, the era of the flapper and the very popular boy-shape, the hourglass figure was shunned, and the corset was temporarily abandoned. At this point, an early bra had been invented, too, so the full-torso chemises were being ignored as well.

Of course, the first half of the twentieth century was embroiled in two world wars, which made anything considered a non-necessity in pretty scarce supply. As a result, there were just the basics: brassiere, underpants, and that is about it. Even stockings were hard to come by. Then, in the 50s, the glamorous movie stars of the time exemplified that hourglass figure, and the corset made a roaring comeback. Now, though, it was in a more tolerable form of a girdle, and it was accompanied by seamless brassieres.

The history of lingerie has a blip on the radar of time, which is the 60s and 70s. Freedom, equality-these were at the forefront of society’s mind. Corsets, brassieres, stockings-implements of restraint and symbolic of suppression, these were abandoned, literally. Women burned their bras, but by the 80s, they needed them back. In fact, the final two decades of the 20th century saw a resurgence in femininity, and the corset came back. Now used for more romantic purposes, lingerie became a symbol of sensuality.

Overall, the history of lingerie has certainly experienced change, but it endures today. As a matter of fact, the category has such a following that there are stores dedicated solely to lingerie, and every department store has a section belonging to it as well. Today’s lingerie includes a multitude of designs, both functional and decorative. The choices are endless; and so too, it seems, is the longevity of lingerie.

Unfortunately, the fact that the child does not awaken is most of the problem. Using the bedwetting alarm is an effective tool, and it should happen in conjunction with some other measures. For instance, limiting fluid intake during the two to three hours leading to bedtime is sometimes sufficient enough. So too can be the elimination of any caffeine from a child’s diet. Caffeine has the effect of drawing fluids from the body and into the bladder for elimination, and it is particularly harmful to children, in that it can actually lead to dehydration.

So, whether the child drinks too much, has caffeine in the diet, or is simply not receiving signals to the brain that say "I’m asleep, so stop filling my bladder," the bedwetting alarm will condition a child to recognize the need to awaken if and when the bladder needs to be purged. This has helped thousands of families leave the embarrassment and frustration of chronic bedwetting behind.

So what can you do? Here are five ideas to get your web site designed in the right direction:

1. Develop a website designed to draw your visitors in. Since you can't be the best in terms of traffic and pricing (not up against the giants of your industry) you need to come at your business from the opposite direction. For every customer you draw to your site, give them a reason to stick around and then come back for more. Free stuff works like a charm. But make sure it is quality free stuff or you're missing the point.

2. Pick a niche. Versus trying for a conglomerate of everything do your homework and research specifics! Be the only one on your block that provides CDE (not ABC) widgets. If they can only get them from you, or you have the best source, they must come to you. The narrower you focus your site, on keywords and terms people are searching for, the greater you up your odds of being successful online.

3. Speaking of keywords, pick the right ones. If you go to great lengths to design and develop the prettiest, best, etc., website all about XYZ widgets, but no one is looking for them, what good will that do you? Not a darn lick of good. So do your homework first, then set to the task of developing your website around searched-for terms.

4. Maybe you're coming at making money online from the wrong direction. Versus products and stuff, where once again people can go to Barnes & Noble or Wal-Mart, what the internet provides is the perfect arena for savvy marketers to develop informational websites. Think about it... students, teachers, your mother and aunts and uncles all get online to LOOK THINGS UP right? Why not develop first a site that supplies that searched for information and then, on the side, suggests products and services to further that cause? It's easier to get someone to first come read then to come buy - especially if you're an unknown starting out.

5. Have a plan and set aside a budget. Most people love the idea of having their own spot on the web, but if it can't be found among the billions (yes billions) of other web pages, what good is it? Marketing and advertising takes money, patience, and persistence - in that order! - to develop website recognition. Think about these costs before you pour your heart into your design. To "break even" online means covering your hosting, your design (time or hired help), product inclusion, research (again time which is money) and marketing and advertising. Too often hundreds if not thousands of dollars are spent up front only to leave the proud but now poor website owner without the means to market and advertise. A website gathering dust is no website at all.

Having your own spot online - and making money from that spot for some - is the goal and dream of many internet users. The reality is yes your dream can go from rambling around inside your brain to a "physically virtual" place online. Last but certainly not least is the entertainment and dining component of your trip. Have you thought about that yet? Too often, we get so consumed in our quest for getting there that we never consider what to do when we are actually there. Again, the Internet is a great place to find out all about area attractions, as well as a source for obtaining travel discounts and coupons for popular features.
