He keeps them tucked between his mattress and headboard in the little plastic case and chews on them in bed instead of his fingers.

If they can stand up to an older kid, they’re certainly going to be great for the littles. They’re made from medical grade materials, FDA Compliant, and are PVC & BPA Free.

OK, it’s true. It never gets all that cold here in Northern California, but I sure was happy I was getting a chance to try out the Lands’ End Windfall Squall Jacket the other day. It was a freezing afternoon and I was on my way to watch my 4 year old play soccer on a wet and muddy field on a gloomy day.

I was pleasantly surprised by how warm yet not-too-bulky this jacket was. It comes in cute colors too.

The waterproof, breathable, performance-packed Windfall Squall Technical Snowsport Jacket for women. Unrivaled protection, comfort and style. Our exclusive AquaCheck nylon shell keeps you dry and comfortable even when your activities start to raise your body temperature. And the PolarThin insulation gives you our warmest protection without bulk. Along with the warm, dry protection, we’ve also built in a number of other features. Like a fleece-lined zip-up high collar, adjustable stowaway hood with visor, fleece-lined zip-close outer pockets, multiple inside pockets designed for cell phones and MP3 players and an outer chest pocket with waterproof zipper. There’s even a specially-designed ski pass attachment down by the left hand pocket. So altogether, you get a hardworking jacket that looks great too. 100% nylon. Machine wash.

Regularly $100, this jacket is currently on sale for $90. Check it out if you’re looking for something that is really warm yet doesn’t make you look like the Michelin Man.

Let me just say right up front that my almost 4 year old ADORES this remote controlled car. He loves it so much that the first night he slept with his arms wrapped tightly around it. He made me kiss it goodnight and tuck it in under the covers with him. He (inexplicably) named it “Groppy.” This is no ordinary car.

The Tonka Bounce Back Racer has a firm but squishy vinyl or plastic exterior so your baseboards are much less likely to get all dinged up. I’ve had my ankles crashed into by this car and even though it gets up to a pretty decent speed, it didn’t really hurt.

When it crashes into the wall, and it will, it either bounces back or flips completely over — that made my son crack up and was part of what infatuated him about the car. It’s got an incredibly easy remote control that only has two buttons, and the whole thing feels very sturdy. My 6 and almost-7 year old love it too, so this is a popular toy in our house. I see the Tonka Bounce Back Racer sold out at several online stores, but you can still grab it at Amazon. Two thumbs up :)

Wubbzy is an infectiously lovable cartoon character with a kooky crooked tail that lives in a CGI world of unusual looking animal characters, pink and purple trees, and buildings with zig-zaggy walls. An impulsive young creature, Wubbzy greets each day with enthusiasm and a healthy dose of curiosity and is always on the lookout for a fun new experience. When trouble arises, Wubbzy counts on his good friends Widgit, a lover of machines and master inventor, and Walden, a science whiz, to help him creatively solve even the most difficult problem. In these eight humor-filled episodes, Wubbzy and his friends engage in everything from trying to straighten out Wubbzy’s crooked tail to building the fastest road racer ever, stopping a volcano from erupting, and caring for a pet fleegle. While things rarely work out like the three friends plan, they always manage to have loads of fun while discovering the value of things like friendship, liking oneself, helping others, truthfulness, self-restraint, and taking responsibility for one’s actions. A Nick Jr. program with huge appeal to preschoolers and their parents, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! promises to rival the popularity of Blues Clues and Dora the Explorer. From the Amazon review.

On September 23, The Coppola Restoration was released and you can see all three movies the way Coppola intended.

Check out this great set of clips from the restored film and remind yourself why after seeing these movies for the first time you seriously considered taping a gun behind your toilet.

More than three decades after they won the Academy Award for Best Picture, director Francis Ford Coppola’s classic films The Godfather and The Godfather, Part II will once again be enjoyed by audiences as they originally were meant to be seen, thanks to a meticulous restoration by Paramount Pictures, overseen by Coppola himself.

The Godfather and The Godfather, Part II underwent extensive frame-by-frame examination and restoration utilizing state-of-the-art digital technology in this historic preservation effort, which required more than a year to complete. The new special features created by Kim Aubry, founder of Zoetrope Aubry Productions, explores the complexities of the restoration process and provides new insights and perspectives about how the film almost didn’t come to pass as we know it. Each film includes a commentary by Coppola.

My husband and our 6 year old are about to tackle remodeling our ancient bathroom, and I’m excited to learn that Domino Magazine (love it) has a new free site where you can organize your design ideas and bits and pieces. Did I mention it was free?

Anything is better than a huge pile of torn out magazine clippings and a bookmarks file full of random web sites, and this might just be the ticket. Check out Domino Magazine’s My Deco File and let me know how it goes. I think we’re going to use it for our bathroom project, and I’m crossing my fingers!
