A cool way to dress up your cupcakes is to make them tye-dyed and it's a lot easier than you might think. All you need is of course cupcakes, incing, piping bag, large star tip, and two different colors of icing. Alternate the different colors of icing in the piping bag and pipe away! You can use a solid color and white, or you can try multiple colors to get an even more tye-dyed effect.

Orange Juice Smoothie

Smoothies are very popular these days. I'm not really a smoothie fan myself, but there is one type of smoothies I do like.....orange juice smoothies. Orange juice smoothies are really easy to make and are delicious. Here's my recipe for them.

In blender put -
1 cup orange juice
1 cup skim milk
1/3 cup sugar (can use less, but I like mine sweet)
8 ice cubes

Blend until smooth. Makes two large glasses so you can cut the recipe in half if you are only making for one person. I make the large batch because whenever I make one someone else wants one too.

Dear Children,

Mother’s Day is coming up, and I thought I should tell you what I want. This way there’s no guilty panic or last minute purchasing of flowers at the closest gas station. So, this is what I want, this year and every year after; it’s pretty simple really.

I want you to be a decent human being.

I want you to be who you are, but don’t be a (jerk).

I want you to work hard at everything you do, because life is too short not

Spring is here and it's actually feeling a lot like summer most days. One thing I love about this time of year is that all the flowers are starting to bloom. I have many flower beds in my yard and I often get complements on them. People ask me what's my secret to growing my flowers and technically I have two secrets. The first secret to growing flowers is fertilizer. Many people go out and buy fertilizer, but I go the old fashioned way.....I get fertilizer right from the farm. I live in a rural area, really rural, and that means the I can get rich fertilizer straight from the farm up the road. My second secret is Miracle Grow. Once a week I water my plants with Miracle Grow. Between these two things I get strong beautiful flowers.

The Difference Between Boys And Girls

Being a mother of both a boy and a girl there are times where I really notice the difference between the two of them. Well sure, there is the obvious difference, but there are so many more differences. My daughter is almost 11 years older than my son, but when I think back to when she was his age the differences are so outstanding. Firstly there is the whole mud and dirt thing. Why is it boys, no matter what they are doing, end up dirty? Using their imagination is another thing. When my daughter played it was always sunshine, puppy dogs, and rainbows. With my sun it's always fast cars, fighter airplanes, and destruction. Now lets talk about outside and going for walks. Sunday was a beautiful day and we went for a walk. My daughter always looked for flowers, pretty leaves, and stuff like that. My son on the other hand had to turn every rock we came across over in search of snakes and salamanders.

Yep, boys and girls are really different even if they are brother and sister!

Chocolate Buttercream Ganache Cupcakes

I learned my passion for baking from my father. He was always making cookies and cakes. Recently my sister, who also loves to bake shared this Chocolate Buttercream Ganache Cupcakes recipe with me. Don't they look DELICIOUS and are easy to make!

Simply make chocolate cupcakes, either from scratch or from a box mix. Pipe buttercream icing on top of them and set in refrigerator for the icing to set. While it's setting make a simple hardening ganache with 1 box of semi-sweet chocolate and 3 tablespoons of shortening. Melt together and let cool till warm. Dip the top of the icing in the ganache and let it set. When the chocolate has set pipe a little more icing on top and add a few sprinkles.

Keep refrigerated until ready to eat.

Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce

Ever have one of those days where nothing could make it better, nothing except a hot fudge sundae? The only problem is you don't have any hot fudge sauce. Not worries though because here is a simply easy to make recipe for delicious hot fudge sauce.

1 Cup White Sugar
2 Tablespoons Flour
1 Cup Chocolate ( chocolate chips, bakers chocolate, or even left over Easter chocolate will work)
1/3 Cup Cocoa
2 Tablespoons Margarine
1 Cup Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Simply mix all ingredients together in sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Let boil whisking constantly for 5 minutes. Let cool to room temperature and serve over ice cream and enjoy!
