Summer is hot, and sometimes it’s just hard to eat much. Staying hydrated and taking advantage of some of the fresher fruits is just one way to make your summer enjoyable.

Frozen fruit isn’t just for the blender to make yummmy fruit smoothies. Freezing bite-sized pieces of fresh fruits make for great snacks (and on really hot days, even dinner!) throughout the warm season.

Cut up watermelon, whole seedless grapes, peach chunks, raspberries.. the list goes on… place on a cookie sheet small enough to fit in your freezer – space the fruit so it isn’t touching and then freeze. I like to roll some fruits in sugar, like raspberries. If it sounds good, but you don’t want to use real sugar, you can always try one of the calorie free sweeteners like Pure Via or Splenda – I much prefer real sugar… just can’t get my taste buds to accept the other sweeteners.

I’m headed out to my dads to pick some fresh raspberries for freezer jam and frozen snacks… I just hope I manage to bring some home and don’t eat all those sun-kissed berries off the vine instead.

We’d been inside all day and time was approaching when my granddaughter would be coming over for a visit (while her mommy went to work).. The boys and I let the dogs out. I peeked outside to see if everyone was ok. Everyone seemed to be interested in doing their own business.

I headed to the restroom to brush my teeth and put my hair up – I’ll pass on baby hands uncontrollably grabbing fistfuls of hair … when I heard Ella-Roo come crying into the house.

She found me in the bathroom and started climbing up my leg, her que for me to pick her up – she’s a little thing, though not a small iggy, she loves me to hold her. She was crying and holding her leg up.

She was crying so much I couldn’t get her to stop… all the dogs were trying to kiss her and love on her and she was nippy… at one point she tucked her snout in between the couch cushions and while her muscles quivered, she cried into the couch. Pitiful.. broke my heart.

After 10 minutes of not being able to calm her, I put some ice on it (she didn’t like) and gave her 1/2 tablet of tramadol. It still took another 10-15 minutes before she quieted.

By this time her foot was swollen. I feared a break, it wasn’t until a little later I thought it may be a bee sting… but with their skinny legs I felt better safe than sorry.

I took her up to the vet, where she had to stay a couple hours, because they were so swamped and had to squeeze us in… and it was just likely a bee sting, no breaks thank goodness. A steriod, a dose of benadryl, a couple of xrays, and a bottle of take home dog pain medication (I like to keep it on hand for them) and $200 lighter… my girl is finally acting more normal, but still favoring her foot.

In my host control panel, I clicked on domain manager, then on the domain about to expire. I was given a few options to choose. I ticked the transfer domain option. It asked for an EPP, a.k.a. Extensible Provisioning Protocol, code, which I needed to find from godaddy.

So off to godaddy.. once logged in there, I navigated over to the domain manager page. I clicked on the domain I needed to renew and wanted to transfer. To initiate the transfer make sure your domain is unlocked – otherwise, keep your domains locked and safe. Then, under Domain Information, click “Authorization Code – Send by Email” This will quickly send a code to you via your email.

Enter this code into the request from your host. On the next page, my host sent a verification email to me with another code.. it came quickly and I finalized the purchase.

Now, typically it can take a few days (like 4) to transfer the domain from godaddy to the new registrar… but if you don’t want to wait around for it, head back to your godaddy Domain Manager. In the current design there are tabs across the top, one says “Domains”. If you hover over it, you’ll see the option “Pending Transfers”. Click it. From there choose the domain you just transferred. Click “Accept” and the process will complete within minutes, rather than the standard days.

Several years ago, a friend of mine, Heidi (from Healthy Kids Snacks) ran a great magazine, called Mindful Mother Magazine. We had so much fun with it too! We decided to transfer to a new hosting company.. but somewhere along the way our domain transfer was done wrong.. and we lost the name. The registrar who snatched our domain up wanted $80 for us to buy it back… we were having more fun with the whole thing than making any money from it. It was an expensive lesson.
