All you need is:
-Waffle/Bite Sized Pretzels
-Bag of Rolos (we used the single packs for these picts but usually use an entire bag)

The most tedious part of this is unwrapping all of the Rolos. We usually make a family event of it and all stand around the trash can doing it! Many hands make light work!

Place a waffle pretzel on your baking sheet. Then one unwrapped Rolo. Follow this step for as many of the candies as you would like. We usually do the whole bag!

Cook them in the oven on 350 for literally only 2-3 minutes. Keep an eye on them – it’s basically just enough time to make the Rolos hot and a bit melty. Because when they come out, you’re going to put a second waffle pretzel on top to make the sandwich.

I usually leave them on the counter for an hour or so to cool and then I pop them in the freezer in a ziplock bag. They never last more than a day or two – delicious!

Sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays will be labeled as “broad spectrum,” which is what you want.

Anything under SPF 15 will have to provide a warning and skincare alert on the package. Anything SPF 15+ will be able to claim it protects against skin cancer.

Did you also know that 90% of all signs of aging are caused by sun damage? Incredible. And that each year in the US alone, 2 million people are diagnosed with skin cancer.

I think the new labels are kind of awesome. I love that they are making consumers more aware of what they are purchasing and encouraging skin protection. Here’s more information about the new FDA labels!

So with this heat, I’m all about staying cool. I pretty much live in skirts and dresses all summer – not just because it’s cute but it’s a way to stay cool! This week I’ve been tempted but a ton of great items as there have been a lot of sales going on!

For $50, you can symbolically “adopt” an animal on the World Wildlife Fund. What does this mean? You receive a plush animal and a certificate saying you helped that animal. The funds made from your donation support the helping of that animal in the wild.

I knew Nate would love it and I was right. I actually ended up ordering him a $50 gift card so he could choose from the assortment of animals available.After spending quite awhile reading about the various animals, he settled on the bald eagle. The World Wildlife Fund says this about the eagle:

Bald eagles live along the rivers, lakes, marshes, and seacoasts of North America. While fish make up the majority of its diet, the bald eagle will also prey upon other birds and small mammals, such as rabbits. A conservation success story, after being protected under the Endangered Species Act, bald eagle populations in the lower 48 states have been down listed to threatened. These majestic birds are still at risk due to habitat loss, toxins, and pollution.

Within a few days, a stuffed animal, certificate and note thanking Nate for his donation arrived on our doorstop. He’s a kid so of course he loves the stuffed animal but the note and certificate were hung with pride. He loves that he helped, if even a little bit, to support the preservation of an animal species.

I’ll definitely be adopting an animal from the World Wildlife Fund again and recommend it for any child who is interested in animal science or animal welfare.

(At least he has the good sense to not wear them out in public. Yet.)

The point is, these boots are totally comfortable and a good style for just about anyone! I plan on reclaiming them when it gets to be cooler air again. Event Background
2012 marks the 35th year of the HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games, the largest youth activity program of its kind in North America! And this year Hershey’s is celebrating with birthday parties that get not only the athletes, but the entire family involved across the country, including right here in Philadelphia.

The HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games are held in local communities across the country. The top boys and girls who advance through their local and regional Games will be eligible to qualify and receive an all-expenses paid trip to compete in this summer’s 2012 North American Final Meet in Hershey, PA.

(A little tip to go last minute with tickets if you can – we waited until the morning of the game to get tickets off StubHub.com – waaaaay cheaper than they were two weeks before when I had been looking at the seats we got were $20 cheaper per ticket according to the face value!)

But here was the shocker of the day – you can no longer tailgate! We had just arrived in the parking lot and were about to set up our fun Eagles/Phillies Cornhole boards (bean bag toss) when a policeman came over to tell us that we had to put both our chairs and our bean bags away. No tailgating. He was nice about it but told us we could only sit on the ground and have the kids sit on the back of the minivan. Apparently there are only two lots you can now tailgate for the Phillies but he informed us that they were NOT family friendly and that we should not head over there. Well that was that.

(According to that very nice uniformed man in blue, there has been no tailgating for four years now. And we at least didn’t feel too badly for not knowing because we were far from the only ones who attempted to tailgate yesterday…)

Here’s what the kids ended up doing while hubby and I sat on the ground drinking a beer or two:

They look a lot more bored then they actually were. It’s all about the photo snap, I guess! But they were eagerly awaiting their cousins arrival and the top of the minivan was apparently the place to be as a prime vantage point.

And after the game, it just wouldn’t be a sports game experience in Philadelphia without a little bit of traffic heading home:

Going to bed, I asked both boys what they thought of the game. They both said it was fun but that the Eagles games were better. “We get to play games outside in the parking lot before and the game is a lot more fun to watch.” Can’t really argue with that as I’ve always thought football was tons more exciting to watch than baseball but I will say that I thought the experience was still fun despite the tailgating snafu. We’ll definitely be taking the kids back to another game sometime soon.
