Tell us about your blog and why you started blogging.

I started my blog after I posted a story on Facebook about my adventures with my 5 and a half month old twin boys and how “I Never Leave The House“, and I received over 50 messages from my friends urging me to start a blog.

So I did, and a month later I have a little Whistler Baby fan club, and have reached over 10,000 hits. I’m having a blast writing a post a day, including funny videos of the boys’ development.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

I plan on including advertising, of products I support, as well as launch my two children’s books, one for small children and one for middle-graders. I am starting a mailing list, thanks to your article and advice! and increasing my presence to include most social media formats.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog, what would it be and why do you like it best?

I have many favourite stories, but other than the story linked about, another favourite is this one.

Today we want you to meet Tina from The Blessed Couponer

Tell us about your blog.

The Blessed Couponer is a blog of faith, generosity and frugal living. It is a resource for Christians to get practical tips, biblical teachings, and wisdom about how to hand their personal finances.

I provide advice, scriptures, tips & tools on budgeting, getting out of debt, ways to earn extra income, along with strategic shopping resources. Helping others to be a good steward of their finances so that they may spend less, save more and give more!

Why did you start blogging?

I begin blogging in late 2010 (using a different website) after becoming intrigued with using coupons and learning how to be a strategic shopper. My blog began as a deal and shopping blog solely until March 2011.

That is when The Blessed Couponer was launched. I felt a need (a calling, if you will) to use my website as a ministry to others walking in the Christian faith. Thus, I added biblical teachings in regardsto personal finances along with scriptures to back up those teachings.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

To continue sharing biblical sound principles for mastering our finances and becoming the steward that God has called us to be. I want to continue to grow and improve upon my website so that I may be a blessing to others.

Are you active in Social Media? What doyou enjoy about it?

Yes, I am active in the social media arena;Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google +. I enjoy socializing with social networks, such as Mom Bloggers Club,Vocalpoint and She Speaks too. This is where I meet other bloggers and develop a working relationship and friendship with other bloggers.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog, what would it be and why doyou like it best?

Understanding The Grace Of God

For me, I am so thankful for God’s abundant grace and forgiveness. God’s grace is far more abundant then the depth of our sin. This is really comforting to me.

Tell us about your blog.

My blog just describes what I’m going thru as a 30+ pregnant, working
mom of almost 4. Some things funny and some informational. I do
giveaways too.

Why did you start blogging?

I enjoy sharing my stories and it is an outlet for me to be me….not mommy, not an engineer, not a wife…Just me. My alter ego

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

I’d like to get over 1000 members and have other mom bloggers utilize
my giveaway page. I’m also hoping to broaden the scope when I have
this baby and focus on raising a baby and losing weight after birth.

Are you active in Social Media? What do you enjoy about it?

I’m active with FB and Twitter. I love FB because I can keep in touch
with all my friends back home. My husband is a Marine, so we move
around every three years.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why
do you like it best?

I would say one of the posts my husband made. Just because I think its
great to see a man’s point of view during pregnancy.

Tell us about your blog.

My blog has become a little bit of everything. It’s my space to share about topics that I am passionate about such as breastfeeding, natural childbirth, congenital heart diease awareness, and other things family-friendly.

Why did you start blogging?

I’ve always loved to write since about age six and when I grew up, that’s what I wanted to be. For many years, I kept a personal blog, but for some reason just quit using it. When I came across the whole mom blog thing, I thought it’d be a good way for me to have my own creative outlet. That way I could still be “me” on top of being a mom and a wife.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

Currently I’m trying to improve my content and readership. My blog is small and I don’t want to have high numbers just for the sake of numbers, but to have readers who truly enjoy my content.

Are you active in Social Media? What do you enjoy about it?

I am– to an extent. I use Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ as networking tools. It has really taught me a lot about things I am interested in and it does help you connect with other bloggers.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why do you like it best?

I think my favorite post is one of my earlier ones because it frames my current mindset. Spring isn’t too far away, the weather will be warming up, and new things will be happening. I absolutely love looking back on the pictures of my children.

Tell us about your blog

LogAllot offers new bloggers a definitive approach to blogging with blogging tips, marketing strategies, blog critiques and blog design advice.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging on accident and it turned into a labor of love. With blogging, I had no idea of all the information I had already acquired in Corporate marketing that could help me build a blog. Now, I use what I have learned to help others with easy tips that they can implement in their blog.

Starting a new blog is not for everyone. You either have the passion to whether the storm early on or you will successfully fail. Finding your niche or place online is something only you can do. No other blogger or website can make you be successful or give you that magic niche to make you tons of money.

Find your passion, build it slowly and learn all you can. Read other blogs, write great content, network and strive to build solid relationships online. Never give up because nothing happens overnight.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

Add new products built for new bloggers and blog conference participation.

Are you active in Social Media? What do you enjoy about it?

Yes, I enjoy Twitter and Facebook immensely because it allows me to network with other bloggers, read new content and build my community. I am an advocate of going outside my niche and I read everything from Mom blogs to corporate blogs. This type of diversity is what helps me stay on top of the different methods people use and how it can ultimately enhance my blog.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why do you like it best?

The Biggest Mistake I Made As A Blogger Was… When I started my blog a year ago, I had no idea I would be where I am today. The mistakes I made early on were minimal compared to what I see bloggers do today. This post helped me realize I was not the only blogger out there making simple mistakes and how I could offer solutions that add value, make new friends online and build alliances with other bloggers that I might not have networked with before.

Tell us about your blog.

My blog began as way for me to keep track of a large quilting project, known to take years {even decades in some cases} called Dear Jane. It’s a sampler of very small blocks and triangles featuring applique and intricate piecing. While on DJ hiatus, the blog grew to include other interests such as gluten free cooking, gardening, kid friendly crafts, simple sewing and tutorials.

Why did you start blogging?

I began RETRO-Fabulous at the suggestion of a cyber friend on twitter. She helped guide me early on and still sends kind notes of encouragement. Now I’m passing on that kindness to a real life friend who just took her first blogspot addy.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

Going forward, I’d like to find a larger audience (what blogger wouldn’t?) and increase the amount of feedback/comments. Now that I have regular readers catching posts via email, comments are considerably lower than they have been.

Are you active in Social Media? What do you enjoy about it?

Social media has been a great way to network with others. I particularly like Twitter and Pinterest. They appeal to my freakishly visual side {especially Pinterest!} and allow instant collaboration on projects with people who are considered experts in their fields.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why do you like it best?

I struggled with choosing a favorite post…after all the work in creating them, it’s difficult to pick just one. I would have to say my favorite page is definitely the Dear Jane page, but for an individual article, I’d have to go with the International Quilt Festival at Rosemont/Chicago. My husband surprised me with a day there {and even remembered to pack my camera}. I had the chance to meet Judie and Bob Rothermel….Judie is my favorite fabric designer, hands down all time fave. I picked up lots of goodies from the vendors and had a wonderful time seeing all the displayed quilts.

I had a blog when my oldest son was born in 2008 but I wasn’t very active. When I decided to become a personal trainer to help other moms I decided to create another blog. This time it is more focused and I’m quite active because I am so passionate about the material.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

I would love to help teach others about clean eating because I really felt like I knew how to eat healthy but I was misinformed and undereducated. Additionally, I want to help women and moms in particular learn that you don’t have to spend hours each day working out to get in shape.

Are you active in Social Media? What do you enjoy about it?

Right now I’m not super social because I’m still developing my blog and content. I’m on Facebook and Twitter once or twice a day. I enjoy “meeting” other people.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why do you like it best?

I really like my post called “The Secret to Being Sexy” because I think it sends a positive message that taking care of yourself, especially selfless moms, is extremely important.

Why did you start blogging?

This started as a way for me to express my creative side and communicate it. I love to craft, sew, bake, write, etc and I wanted to have a place to share it with others.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

Truthfully, I’m not sure. At times, I feel as if I bounce all over the place with my blog. I would definitely like to see it continue to grow. I work full-time and this takes a lot of my spare time, although I know CHT is small compared to a lot of other blogs.

Are you active in Social Media?

Yes What do you enjoy about it? Honestly, not a lot. If it wasn’t for my blog, I probably wouldn’t have a social media profile–with the exception of Pinterest. I love that site. It is very inspiring and you can find anything on there.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why do you like it best?

This a a really hard question for me. There really are so many that I like. I guess one of my favorites is my Wickedy Witch Sign My sister and her husband created the pattern for this project after my sis saw a similar sign posted for a wood craft class. The whole project was fun to work on–creativity, Mod Podge and fun, decorative papers–yeah! Who wouldn’t love it? My 15-month old granddaughter tried to use the letter “C” as a step-ladder the day after I finished it and I had to remount everything, but hey, it was as much fun the second time as it was the first!

Tell us about your blog.

I Thought I Knew Mama is a window into the adventures of stay at home mamahood, natural parenting, and green & healthy living.

Why did you start blogging?

When I was laid off shortly before my first child was to be born in June 2010, I was faced with an experience that I had never planned upon – being a stay at home mama. I decided to start a
blog and dedicate it to examining the experience of being a full time mom, my attempts to incorporate natural parenting and a green and healthy lifestyle into our days, and to exploring this stay at home world with my son… a world that I thought I knew and understood, but now realize is a layered, fascinating, and blurred experience which I wade through in this new life of mine.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

My goals are to keep sharing the information that I learn about creating a green and natural life for my family, as well as documenting my pregnancy (I’m due with my second babe in May!) and learning how to care for our expanding family. I’ve also got lots of green and natural giveaways for mamas coming up.

Are you active in Social Media? What do you enjoy about it?

I am very active in social media, and I actually wrote an entire post about why it is important to me: Has Social Media Changed You? A Stay at Home Mom’s Perspective.

Social media provides me with the opportunity to connect with all different kinds of people – those who have known me forever, those who I knew long ago and have now reconnected with, complete strangers, loved ones, and brand new friends. And thanks to social media, I can now interact with them through the platform that makes me most comfortable and allows me to express myself easily and freely.

As a stay at home mama, social media provides me with something that stay at home moms in the past might have missed out on and craved: regular and consistent adult interaction and stimulation.
You can find I Thought I Knew Mama on Facebook, Twitter, and Google +.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why do you like it best?

If I had to pick a favorite post, it would probably be the post that launched my blog and explains the name of my blog.

Tell us about your blog.

The Undomestic Mommy is my little collection of my rants, raves, and product reviews, as well as pictures and stories about my life as an, again, soon-to-be single mother of two girls.

Why did you start blogging?

I actually didn’t start out blogging to write about any of the stuff I write about now! I had a really hard time coming up with a name for my site and somehow decided on Split Ends S*ck which isn’t even remotely related to the things I was posting about, which were freebies/samples I was finding online. I went through a pretty long phase where I spent a lot of time signing up for freebies, my mail box was constantly full, so I was posting them on my blog to hopefully help other people be able to score some free goodies too. Then I started to slowly blog about my life with my kids and my soon-to-be ex-husband and I started reading some other mom blogs and noticed they were getting free things to review, things that were a lot better than the samples I had been getting. So I started reviewing some things I already owned and then started contacting companies to get review products. Once I started contacting companies though I knew I needed, at the very least, my own .com URL, and since the old name had caused me to miss out on some review opportunities due to the swearing, I wanted a whole new name, and that’s how The Undomestic Mommy was born.

What are your goals for your blog going forward?

Going forward I hope to increase my readership, because what’s the point if no one reads it really, and to get better opportunities to work with bigger brands.

Are you active in Social Media? What do you enjoy about it?

Am I active in social media? I’m only 19 so I have grown up with the social media age, so I have been very active in it from the start! Way before I had thought about blogging. I love that it gives me the chance to connect with people I’d never otherwise meet and to stay caught up with my family that doesn’t live close and my friends after we finished high school.

If you had to pick a favorite post on your blog what would it be and why do you like it best?

I’ve had nearly 500 posts now so picking just one that I like best is tricky. My favorite, more recent one, is probably A Leap Day Baby, Why You Shouldn’t Purposely Have One because I was finally able to vent all the frustrated feelings I’ve had about being a leap day baby.
