Vas de paseo, te diviertes y sacas tu cámara (o teléfono inteligente) para tomar algunas fotos.

Emocionado, las compartes en tu red social favorita... hasta que ves las que ha publicado tu amigo que te ha acompañado: parece que han ido a lugares diferentes, sus fotos son más claras, tienen mejores colores y momentos (donde tu sales) que simplemente no recuerdas.

Seguramente justificas eso pensando: Claro, su cámara es mejor o más reciente que la mía. ¿Es esa la razón? Por supuesto que no, la verdad es que aunque cambiaran de cámara la siguiente vez tomará mejores fotos que tú

¿Cómo tomo mejores fotos?

En esta serie de posts trataremos de dar alguno tips:

Pon atención al fondo

Fondos simples, sin distracciones = Fotos más atractivas

Antes de hacer click (o ya que la tomaste, toma un momento revisarla y si se necesita tomar de nuevo) para capturar la imagen presta atención a que hay detrás del sujeto de tu foto. En este caso la flor está bajo el sol directo mientras que el fondo está en la sombra, lo que hace que la flor sobresalga y se lleve la atención completa de quien la observa

Al tomar un retrato de una persona dedica un segundo a revisar que no tenga nada detrás de la cabeza (un poste, un árbol, etc) que después parezca que la persona tenga antenas

Troubles Installing Adobe Lightroom CC ( Lightroom 6 )

Just downloaded and installed Lightroom CC?

Tried to access it and it didn't go past the start screen? (Just flashes really quickly and nothing happens)

Just had this issue and fixing it was really easy, once you figure it out

All you have to do is to log out from Creative Cloud Desktop app, Just log out from your account do not close the program

Now log in to your account and launch Lightroom CC .. Yes, it's that easy

Me acaba de pasar y la solución es realmente muy fácil.

Lo único que hay que hacer es salir de tu cuenta de la app de Creative Cloud. Sólo cierra tu sesión, no cierres el programa.

Ahora vuelve a ingresar a tu cuenta y abre Lightroom CC. Sí, eso es todo

These are made from scrap iron, which is a way to recycle while having a nice decor at your home. Here is a smiling sun, the Cross and the last supper (at the bottom), which also fits with yesterday's post.

The author is Mario Pacheco Lazcano.

The special part of this work of art is that it has not even a drop of paint, it is all made of fabric and thread; yes, just like you read it, it is all sewn to form the scene, which is made by Guillermina Mendoza.

Banamex (oldest bank in Mexico, now part of Citibank) along with a lot of artists and artisans, are organizing their annual art sale with revenue going to the Red Cross.

Today is the first post of many showcasing the paintings and sculptures that are up to sale. If you are interested in something or see something that catches your eye, we can ask for more details about price and/or shipping. Valle Oriente

This has nothing to do with pop group OV7 (former Grease Mexican ensemble), this is a landmark that signals the start of one of the main business and entertainment areas in the Metroplex.

It's VO which stands for Valle Oriente (Valley West) and it's one of a few of these sculptures scattered thru the area.

Esto no tiene nada que ver con el grupo de pop OV7 (parte del ensamble anterior de Vaselina en México), este es un monumento que señala el inicio de una de las principales áreas de negocios y entretenimiento en la zona metropolitana.

Es VO que son las iniciales de Valle Oriente y es una de varias de estas esculturas por la zona.

This is “Achutín” (meaning something like Sneezy), which is the character created in the media campaign to remember people to prevent air infections, like last year's A1H1.

This sign is at the entrance of a museum and says: “Viruses non admitted” followed by some important sanitary recommendations such as wash hands, cover when sneezing, and others.

Este es “Achutín” el personaje creado para la campaña contra las infecciones como la influenza A1H1 del año pasado.

El anuncio está en la entrada de un museo, recordándole a la gente las medidas básicas de prevención para este tipo de enfermedades.

Theme Day: Big

Today's Theme Day is Big.

This is the biggest Flag (and flag pole) in all Mexico, measuring 50 meters long and 29 meters high (164 x 95 feet) and weights 230 kilos (507 pounds).

The flag pole is 100 meters high, which is around 328 feet; you can even look at its shadow from the satellite images at Google Maps. Is located at the top of a small mountain, which makes it visible from a large part of the City.

This is supposely one of the biggest in the World. If someone knows of a bigger Flag or Flag Pole somewhere, please let me know in the comments.

El Tema del Día es Grande.

Esta es la Bandera (y el Asta) más grande de México, mide 50 metros de ancho por 29 de alto y pesa 230 kilos.

El Asta mide 100 metros de altura, incluso se puede ver la sombra en las imágenes de satélite de Google Maps. Aparte está sobre un cerro que hace que se vea desde casi toda la Ciudad.

Esta es, supuestamente, una de las banderas más grandes del Mundo. Si alguien conoce una Bandera o un Asta más grande en alguna parte, por favor avíseme en los comentarios.

Pueden ver que tan Grandes son las cosas alrededor del Mundo en las ligas que vienen abajo hacia todos los participantes en el Tema.

A New Beginning

Just like the sunrises after the night, here we will begin to post after a long layoff, hopefully for a long time. Maybe a couple of times a week at the start and then back to an almost daily schedule. Thanks for staying or visiting for the firt time.

...and what better excuse to post a photo taken before sunrise?? This is the Cerro de la Silla, the emblematic mountain in the City, an the State (Nuevo Leon) for that matter.

Tal y como el sol sale después de la noche, aquí empezaremos a publicar después de un largo descanso, esperemos que por mucho tiempo. Tal vez un par de veces a la semana al principio y más adelante volver a publicar casi a diario. Gracias por seguir aquí o por visitar por primera vez.

...¿¿y qué mejor excusa para poner una foto tomada al amanecer?? Este es el Cerro de la Silla, el emblema de la Ciudad y, prácticamente, del Estado (Nuevo León).

Theme Day: Feet

Today's Theme Day is Feet.

This is the Finish Line from one of the biggest races in Monterrey organized by Duendes (elves) Club. This is a 5k and 10k race for adults and a small 1k run for the kids.

A lot of families participate in the races and is a great way to motivate all of them to share a few moments everyday preparing for them.

Palm Craze

Starting a few years ago, every new park or park restoration has received a few palms to improve their image, although palms are not native to the City or even the region.

Here is one of them, who has survived well (at least that its what it seems) and gives a nice shadow.

Desde hace algunos años, cada parque que era renovado o construido es adornado con palmeras, sin importar que no son nativas de la Ciudad ni de la región.

Aquí está una de ellas, que ha sobrevivido bien (o al menos a sí parece) y que da buena sombra.

Get on Your Boots

U2 got a new album called “No Line On The Horizon” out yesterday, “Get On Your Boots” is the name of the first single. You can preview the songs on the right sidebar.

Not the best picture, but it was the one that fit the best. It's a small puppy who might even sleep in his owner's boot.

U2 sacó su nuevo disco ayer “No Line On The Horizon” (Sin Línea en el Horizonte) , “Get On Your Boots” (Ponte tus Botas) es el nombre del primer sencillo. Pueden escuchar parte de las canciones en la barra del lado derecho.

No es la mejor foto, pero es la que mejor queda. Es un pequeño cachorro que pudiera dormir en la bota de su dueño.

Staircase at the Post Office

This is the staircase that leads into the side entrance of Monterrey's Post Office.

You can see the detail carved into the bottom part of the handrails, which is reminiscent of the Feathered Serpent worshipped by many ancient cultures in prehispanic Mexico, such as the Mayan god Kukulkan which they had at the bottom of the staircase at their pyramids.

Esta es la escalera que lleva a una de las entradas laterales de la Oficina de Correos de Monterrey.

Pueden ver el detalle en la parte inferior del pasamanos, que recuerda a la Serpiente Emplumada adorada por las culturas prehispánicas que existieron en México, como el dios Maya Kukulkán el cual pusieron en la parte inferior de las escaleras de sus pirámides.

These three figures are from the Christmas / New Year's decoration outside of the Vitro Headquarters. They represent the 3 Magi or The Three Wise Men, of course they are all made from glass.

Vitro is a glass company based in Monterrey. Is one of the main glass companies in the world.

Estas tres figuras son de la decoración Navideña y de Año Nuevo de las oficinas generales de Vitro . Representan los Tres Reyes Magos, y por supuesto están hechas de vidrio.

Vitro es una empresa que fabrica vidrio basada en Monterrey. Es una de las principales productoras de vidrio del mundo.
