{rev war photos from Battle of Trenton, 2012}

noreply@blogger.com (Moonlight Court) — Sat, 11 May 2013 07:51:00 +0000

As of this summer, I have started a new passion: reenacting the American Revolutionary War. Combining my love of history with photography, I have been given the opportunity to catch some really great living history scenes "on film." Here's the link to my Battle of Trenton album:

More to come! You are welcome to use these photos, but please give credit either to me or link back to this website. Thank you!

{matchbook madness}

noreply@blogger.com (Moonlight Court) — Wed, 18 Jul 2012 05:56:00 +0000

I love anything miniature and I love books, so what a perfect combination this is...Matchbook Stories is a new project that presents a literary magazine in matchbook form. Each issue is delivered in a tiny box and gathers four miniature stories (each in its own matchbook) inside. The debut collection includes writing from Matchbook Stories‘ editors, Ioanna Mavrou and Lee Jing-Jing. Each issue is handmade and only 100 will be printed, so if you’re interested in grabbing an edition, click here to check it out and place an order ($32 each). I love creative limited editions like this, they really showcase the handmade process and how special it is to own something like this.

I love Hermes, and then they featured this artist--more love! Lotta Nieminen is an illustrator, graphic designer and art director from Helsinki, Finland. You can see more of her work on her newly-designed website (hint: it's gorgeous), including this beautiful brand identity work for Brooklyn- based online vintage clothing store Maeven and much more.

Absolutely love the brightness of this space, and of course, the nautical nod. Would love to have a four poster in my house.

{tower of light}

noreply@blogger.com (Moonlight Court) — Fri, 13 Jul 2012 05:48:00 +0000

I often vist NYC, but never go into Brooklyn. This may be a perfect reason-- going to see Watertower by artist Tom Fruin. Using locally sourced steel and plexiglass from places like BuildItGreen! and old sign shops, Fruin has created an incredible monument to the city of Brooklyn. The tower is lit by the sun during the day, but you can also admire the tower at night when programmed light sequences glow from within. The tower is located on the rooftop of 20 Jay Street; according to the press release, the prime viewing locations are the Brooklyn Bridge Park at Washington Street and the Manhattan Bridge bike path.

{wedgewood?}

noreply@blogger.com (Moonlight Court) — Thu, 12 Jul 2012 13:44:00 +0000

With so much hype about recycling and making everything biodegradable, these are a sure treat. Artist, Rebecca Wilson- her ‘Finest Paperware‘ series is essentially a disposable paper cup line that has been designed to look like classic Wedgewood china. Made from sheets of handmade paper, each cup has embossed relief details and comes as part of a set of 12 for $29. At about $2.40 per cup, it may not be the price point most people want or expect for everyday disposable goods, but a set of these would certainly elevate a special picnic or romantic meal on the go (each set is fully recyclable). If you want to check them out in more detail you can find more info (and ordering details) right here.

Check out these beautiful embroidered book covers from Jessica Reed. Jessica embroiders directly onto the covers of vintage paperback books and sells them at her Etsy Shop, By Reed. I think these would be a sweet gift for someone who has a favorite book they’d like to commemorate. Click here to check out Jessica’s shop online and here to check out her work page.

The step up to the window, which allows in so much beautiful light to this lovely guest room, is a favorite feature of mine. Also, I love the blue denim trim on the duvets, which match the curtains, just a little bit.
