Now is the time to find out! With the expected changes to the way early learning and childcare (ELC) is delivered in Moray by 2020, it is the ideal time to consider a career in ELC.

Around 300 additional staff could be required in nurseries around the region, meaning more opportunities for ELC practitioners and nursery managers.

A progressive career in ELC is fulfilling and rewarding as you create a supportive and nurturing environment for children in their formative years to reach their full potential, giving children the best possible start in life.

At Moray College UHI you can study from entry level through to degree and postgraduate study in a range of education and childcare courses. You will gain industry relevant qualifications and experience placements out at the work place to develop work based skills.

On successful completion of our courses students can register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) to qualify to work in childcare settings.

Why not come along to our Careers in Childcare Drop-in on Friday 23rd March between 9.30-11.30am at the college for a coffee and chat with our lecturers to find out about courses to get you into the ELC industry.

Students will be at the event to talk about their experience and entertain any children that come along with their parents.

Representatives from Moray Council will also be on hand to chat about the expansion in jobs expected in the Moray area.

From 1pm: Competition
4pm - 5pm: Catwalk and Judging

Beauty Therapy students will take part and compete within four categories showcasing their skills in make-up and nails:

  • Fantasy Make-up
  • Cover Girl Make-up
  • Gel Polish Nail Art
  • Nail Art

Hairdressing students will take part within five categories competing in styling and colouring:

  • Creative Colour
  • Basic Colour
  • Creative Styling
  • Avant-Garde
  • Creative Long Hair
