We’ve given our mobile website a major refresh. Check out the screenshot of the new message board:

The new mobile site is compatible with all major smart phones, including iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Microsoft devices.

It’s super easy for delegates to use - which means they interact with each other more and overall get greater value from your conference.

Deep Twitter

We like to think that moreconference has deep integration with Twitter.

Here’s how:

1. Sign in: Delegates can register (and then sign in) with their Twitter account - or with Facebook, LinkedIn, Google or Yahoo. That means they don’t need to remember any moreconference password.

2. Profile: Delegates can add their Twitter account to their profile - so other delegates can easily follow them. They can also add their LinkedIn account and any website too.

3. Tweet to the board: If a delegate has added their Twitter account to their profile then any tweet they do which includes the hashtag #moreconf appears on the moreconference message board. It’s an easy way for delegates to talk to their followers and the moreconference network at the same time.

And after our most recent software update…

4. Special Twitter account: Delegates can now get updates about the moreconference network through Twitter. In the management screen, you can authenticate a Twitter account - and we will send tweets through this account when new delegates join or there are new posts on the discussion board. The tweets are anonymous and do not reveal the content of any posts, so the privacy of the network is respected. No more than two tweets are sent per day. You can either use an existing Twitter account or start a new Twitter account for this purpose.

New feature alert! Now you can create polls on the discussion board.

It’s a great way to canvas opinions and start discussions around a particular topic.

Using moreconference for new sponsor deals

Here are 3 ideas for using moreconference when negotiating your next sponsorship deal:

1. Use the full space at the top and side of the page either for one exclusive sponsor or for listing several sponsors (red space below).

2. Give sponsors access to the network and encourage them to engage with delegates on the discussion board. Tip: they can make a special offer which will be limited just to delegates since the network is private.

3. If the sponsor joins moreconference then they can access the social network profiles that delegates add to their profiles (and we also provide these to the organiser as part of the data export at the end of the event).

Yesterday we released a couple of pre-Christmas goodies.

Event organisers can now access real-time stats on how their moreconference network is performing (in the Management tab):

Also we’ve given delegates the ability to control whether other delegates can send them private messages. If you want to turn it off, just check the box in your profile.

We’ve made a small change to the way the ‘Delegates’ list displays.

The default ordering is now by 'number of posts’ and we’ve tidied up the social media icons too.

You can still choose to order by name or organisation but the default view shows the most active people at the top.

We’ve also made a slight change to the daily summary emails to delegates. As before, these only go out if there has been discussion board activity on that day. But now they now also contain a few of the previous day’s messages as well to provide more context.

Short post about a neat new feature we’ve added to moreconference.

Now your delegates can upload their Powerpoint presentations and other files directly to moreconference. A link to the file appears next to their post – so it’s just one click for other delegates to download them.

Easy.

We’re so chuffed to make today’s announcement: moreconference is now free to the world.

Gratis, nada, zilch. Everyone loves free!

The free version is a complete private social network for events. It’s perfect if you’re running an in-house event, organising a conference for non-profit organisations – or just trying us out for the first time.

There’s also a premium version, which has a few extra features. If you’re keen to maintain consistency and promote your sponsors then we’ll help you to add your own branding and logos to the site. With the premium version you can also moderate the discussion board and your delegates have the ability to send direct messages to each other.

We hope you’ll enjoy using moreconference, whichever version you choose.

We’ve got great news for those of you who have sponsors and partners for your conferences and events. After lots of hard coding we can now offer a special ‘white label’ version of moreconference:

Space for your own logo and/or logos of your partners and sponsors
Choice of colour themes and branding
No moreconference branding

It’s a great way to present your delegates with a seamless experience (plus an opportunity to ask for a little more support from the sponsors!)

What an amazing 1st week for moreconference! Thanks to everyone for showing such an interest in what we’re trying to do!

Today we launch moreconference - hope you like it!

It’s been an incredible journey taking moreconference from initial conception all the way to final release – and we could only have done it with the huge amount of support from our partners, family and friends (thanks guys!)
