Fall's crisp fingers have closed around us; the maples are golding; Halloween's candy is dwindling away in after-dinner dribs and drabs.

Milo in particular has gotten a candy education. Now when he sees candy in stores he'll say, "Oh I don't like that one" or "Milk Duds! Papa eats those when he goes to the movies".

Friday was our annual Halloween party. It was a scream! About 120 souls made it, half of them children.

Happy Halloween!

This week was Fall break at school. We spent the time leisurely. Babushka is here and it's been fun to hang out with her.

Milo did his first successful practical joke this week. He managed to prank Lucie by showing her a water balloon and saying "Look Mom! I made a pee balloon!" It's a hard line to walk: not encouraging it, but busting a gut laughing behind closed doors.

We had a great Halloween party (see pictures).

Ecole Bilingue has their Halloween parade a good 10 days before Halloween because the school is closed the last week of October. As far as we can tell, we are the only school on this continent that has a Fall Break. How very French of us.

The kids are on vacation until November. We are actively preparing for Halloween. Babouchka arrived from France for the occasion. Her visit was kicked off by the school's Halloween parade.

Felix is adapting to his cast. At first, he was very shy about it. He was mortified that people at school would notice and he spent the first day hiding his cast under his desk. By the second day, his friends asked to sign it and he felt better about it. Now, he is mildly annoyed by it but it's not that big a deal.
