Big luxury SUVs already have a strong road presence, and that darker styling usually makes them stand out even more. Mercedes-Benz is now using that same formula with the newly launched GLE and GLS Night Edition models in India with black styling details, fresh cabin treatment, and a few extra features over the regular versions.

These editions will be sold in limited numbers. Mercedes-Benz also highlighted that India has become one of its strongest global markets for both the GLE and GLS SUVs over the years.

The GLE Night Edition starts at Rs 1.05 crore, while the GLS Night Edition range begins from Rs 1.41 crore, ex-showroom.

Price list:

GLE 300d 4Matic Night Edition – Rs 1.05 crore

GLE 450 4Matic Night Edition – Rs 1.14 crore

GLS 450 4Matic Night Edition – Rs 1.41 crore

GLS 450d 4Matic Night Edition – Rs 1.43 crore

Engine choices

Mercedes continues with both petrol and diesel options for the Night Edition range.

GLE variants:

2.0-litre diesel engine producing 270 hp and 550 Nm

3.0-litre petrol engine producing 380 hp and 500 Nm

GLS variants:

3.0-litre petrol engine with 380 hp

3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine with 367 hp and 750 Nm

Every version comes paired with:

9-speed automatic transmission

4Matic all-wheel drive system

Air suspension is available across all Night Edition models.

The diesel variants feel stronger during quick acceleration and highway cruising, while the petrol versions deliver smoother performance. The GLE 450 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in around 5.6 seconds. Both GLS versions complete the same run in close to 6.1 seconds. The GLE 300d can reach a top speed of 230 kmph, while the remaining variants can go up to 250 kmph.

Dark themed styling package

Mercedes has given both SUVs a more stealthy appearance with several black-finished elements spread across the body.

Buyers can choose between:

Obsidian Black

Alpine Grey

Among the two, Alpine Grey is reserved only for the Night Edition models.

Other styling additions include:

Gloss black bumper inserts

Black roof finish

Dark finished ORVMs

Black detailing around the exterior

The GLS continues with its large and commanding look, while the GLE appears slightly more athletic with this package. Large alloy wheels and clean body lines further add to the premium appearance. Mercedes says these colour combinations and styling elements will remain exclusive to the Night Edition range and will not be offered on regular variants.

Cabin layout and features

The dark treatment continues inside as well. Mercedes has used new material combinations which are not offered in the standard trims.

Key cabin highlights include:

Black Nappa leather seats

Anthracite open-pore oak wood trim

Illuminated black door sills

The cabin feels richer because of the darker finish and contrast detailing. A head-up display is standard across all Night Edition models. Rear passengers in the GLS also get dedicated entertainment screens.

The GLE has already built a strong customer base in India over the years, and this new edition adds more premium touches to that package.

One major addition is seen in the GLE Night Edition. It now gets Airmatic air suspension as standard equipment. This setup was earlier missing on the four-cylinder version. The suspension is expected to improve comfort levels during city drives as well as long-distance travel.

Limited production run

Mercedes-Benz is offering these Night Edition SUVs as part of a limited global series. Because of that, availability in India will also remain restricted.

The updates are more about exclusivity and styling rather than major mechanical changes. Buyers looking for a more unique version of the GLE or GLS may find these editions more appealing than the standard models.

Availability will stay limited, which also gives these versions a slightly more exclusive feel compared to the regular lineup.
The post New Mercedes GLE and GLS Night Edition SUVs Launched In India With Exclusive Dark Styling first appeared on Motoroids.

Big SUVs are usually linked with comfort and long highway drives. The new Xiaomi YU7 GT has changed that image completely. The electric SUV has now become the fastest production SUV at the famous Nurburgring circuit in Germany, beating the Audi RS Q8 Performance and setting a new benchmark in the segment.

The YU7 GT completed the lap in 7 minutes and 34.93 seconds. That makes it 1.76 seconds quicker than the Audi RS Q8 Performance, which earlier held the record with a lap time of 7 minutes and 36.69 seconds.

The lap was completed on May 19, just before the SUV’s official debut in China. Xiaomi test driver Ren Zhoucan was behind the wheel during the run. He also became the first Chinese driver to set an officially recognised production car lap record at the Nurburgring.

The company later shared onboard footage and telemetry data from the lap. During the run, the SUV touched a GPS verified speed of 299kmph on the long straight section of the track.

Power and performance

The YU7 GT comes with numbers usually seen in supercars rather than family SUVs.

Dual motor all wheel drive setup

990bhp maximum power

101.7kWh battery pack

Claimed top speed of 300kmph

The SUV is also expected to deliver a driving range of up to 705km under the CLTC cycle.

Charging speed is another area where the YU7 GT stands out. The SUV uses an 800V electrical architecture, which allows very fast DC charging support. According to the claimed figures, the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 12 minutes.

That makes it one of the quickest charging performance SUVs revealed so far.

Record run details

The SUV used during the record attempt was fitted with the optional Track Package.

A few changes were made to prepare the SUV for the demanding circuit run. These include –

Full roll cage added

Rear seats removed

Chassis setup tuned for track driving

These updates helped improve body rigidity and reduce weight during the lap attempt.

Even with all its performance-focused hardware, the YU7 GT is still a big and heavy SUV. It measures 5,015mm in length and weighs around 2,460kg. Despite those numbers, the electric SUV managed to set a faster lap time than the Audi RS Q8 Performance at the Nurburgring, which makes the achievement even more impressive considering the size of the vehicle.

Technology and setup

The YU7 GT is loaded with advanced hardware and software systems.

Huawei driver assistance system

896 channel LiDAR setup

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8937 processor

These systems are designed to improve vehicle response, processing speed and driving assistance functions.

The SUV is expected to officially debut in China on May 21, 2026.

Xiaomi’s growing Nurburgring success

This is not the first time Xiaomi has made headlines at the Nurburgring. Earlier, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra became the fastest production electric car at the circuit with a lap time of 7 minutes and 4.95 seconds.

Now, with the YU7 GT record, the brand has entered another major performance category. Beating the Audi RS Q8 Performance has also brought Xiaomi into discussions usually dominated by long established performance car brands.
The post Xiaomi YU7 GT Dethrones Audi RS Q8 To Become ‘Fastest SUV At Nurburgring’ first appeared on Motoroids.

The new Duster has already created strong interest among SUV buyers, and Nissan now wants a share of that attention with the Tekton. The SUV will officially make its debut on July 9, 2026, and it will sit right in one of the busiest car segments in the country.

This will be Nissan’s return to the category after the Kicks left the market a few years ago. The Tekton is based on the same platform as the latest Renault Duster, but the overall styling and character look quite different.

The SUV carries a more upright and muscular look. At the front, it gets a large grille with chrome detailing, connected LED DRLs, LED headlamps and a chunky bumper design. The bonnet gets strong lines and even carries ‘Tekton’ lettering for added road presence.

A lot of inspiration seems to come from the global Nissan Patrol. The stance looks tall and squared, giving it a proper SUV appearance instead of a crossover style design.

Some expected exterior highlights include:

Connected LED tail lamps

Full width rear light bar

Roof rails

Shark fin antenna

Squared wheel arches

Dual tone 18 inch alloy wheels

Around 212 mm ground clearance

From the side, the silhouette stays close to the Duster with a clean shoulder line and upright proportions. Rear door handles are likely to be integrated near the window section, helping the design look cleaner.

Cabin and features

The interior is expected to get its own styling with new colour combinations and different materials. Teaser images already show a dashboard finished in blue, black and copper shades.

Feature list is expected to stay quite loaded with –

10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

10.25 inch digital instrument display

Panoramic sunroof

Wireless charger

Dual zone climate control

Powered tailgate

Ventilated front seats

Powered front seats

Rear AC vents

Connected car features

The touchscreen layout is likely to remain slightly tilted towards the driver, similar to the Duster.

Safety and technology

The Tekton is also expected to bring modern safety systems.

Level 2 ADAS package

360 degree camera

Electronic stability control

Six airbags

Adaptive cruise control

Lane assist

Auto headlights and wipers

These features will help the SUV take on segment titans like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and even the new Renault Duster.

Engine options expected

Just like the Duster, the Tekton is expected to come with three powertrain choices.

1.0 litre turbo petrol

1.3 litre turbo petrol

1.8 litre strong hybrid setup

The smaller turbo petrol engine is expected to produce around 100 hp, while the bigger 1.3 litre motor could make close to 160 hp with manual and DCT gearbox options.

The hybrid version could become one of the most talked about variants. Reports suggest it may use a 1.8 litre petrol engine along with electric motors and a small battery pack. This setup could become one of the main attractions of the SUV, especially at a time when fuel efficiency is becoming more important for buyers.

Even while standing still, the motorcycle looks aggressive, stretched and ready to launch forward. The shape is stretched, low and aggressive, almost like a machine built for a runway instead of a road.

This new concept motorcycle was showcased at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. It is a one-off model for now, but it also previews a new styling direction for future BMW touring motorcycles.

The entire motorcycle is built around a massive 1800cc inline six cylinder engine. That engine is not hidden behind panels or bodywork. It becomes the centre of the whole design.

Design inspired by aircraft

The Vision K18 takes inspiration from high speed aircraft like the Concorde. That influence can be seen immediately in the long body shape and low riding position.

The front section stretches forward sharply while the rear stays wide and dramatic. The motorcycle almost looks like it is preparing for takeoff.

A lot of the styling details are connected to the six cylinder engine layout.

Six LED headlight elements

Six air intake tubes

Six exhaust outlets at the rear

The rear section is especially striking. It gets a very wide carbon fibre housing with six exhaust tips placed neatly inside it. Vertical tail lights sit on both sides and give the motorcycle a futuristic appearance for sure

Large smooth body panels are mixed with exposed mechanical parts, vents and openings. This combination gives the bike a raw but premium feel.

Handcrafted bodywork and materials

Several parts of the body are made by hand using aluminium and forged carbon materials.

The side panel is over two metres long and has been shaped from a single aluminium piece. BMW has also used special metallic surface treatments inspired by old Formula 1 exhaust systems.

The finish changes under light and gives the motorcycle a very unique appearance.

Other details include:

Forged carbon fibre parts

Hydraulic suspension setup

Actively cooled headlight system

Very low riding stance

The suspension can also lower hydraulically, adding more drama to the motorcycle when parked.

Engine and riding character

The inline six cylinder engine remains the heart of the Vision K18. BMW has used six cylinder engines in touring motorcycles before, but this concept takes a very different direction.

Current touring motorcycles from the brand are more comfort oriented. The Vision K18 feels sharper, lower and far more performance focused.

The motorcycle also gets a flat rear section because the fuel tank and airbox positions have been changed. This creates a long flowing silhouette from front to back.

The fat rear wheel is left fully exposed, adding even more visual presence.

Could it reach production?

Right now, the Vision K18 is only a concept model. Still, many of its ideas could influence future production motorcycles.

The design direction, engine layout and premium materials show what future high-end touring motorcycles from BMW could look like in the coming years.
The post BMW Vision K18 Looks Like A Jet On Two Wheels, Powered By A Huge 1800cc Inline Six first appeared on Motoroids.

For many Indian buyers, the Tiago has been one of those cars that quietly stayed relevant over the years. It has been used as a first family car, a city hatchback for daily office runs, and even as an affordable EV for people stepping into electric mobility for the first time. Now, ahead of their May 28 launch, the updated Tiago and Tiago EV have finally been revealed with a much fresher look and a few important upgrades.

Both versions now get a sharper design than before. The styling changes are noticeable from almost every angle, especially at the front and rear. While the overall shape remains familiar, the hatchback now appears more modern and sporty than the outgoing version.

Fresh design with sharper styling

The front section now looks much more modern than before. Both versions get slimmer headlamps with eyebrow-style LED DRLs and a cleaner layout.

The ICE version uses a gloss black grille, while the EV gets a closed front design with body-coloured treatment. The bumpers are also completely new.

A large lower air intake can be seen on both models, although the EV version gets a smaller opening compared to the petrol hatchback.

Other exterior changes include:

New LED headlamp setup

Vertical detailing on bumper edges

Redesigned alloy wheels

Black cladding around wheel arches

New rear bumper design

The EV version also gets aero-style wheel inserts for better airflow.

From the rear, the hatchback now looks wider than before due to the new tail lamp setup. The taillights now use vertical LED elements connected through a thick black strip across the tailgate.

The rear section also gets:

Roof spoiler

Shark fin antenna

New reflectors

Revised tailgate styling

ICE and EV get small visual differences

Both versions look similar at first glance, but there are a few noticeable changes between them.

The petrol model gets fog lamps placed inside the bumper, while the EV skips them completely. Chrome detailing on the door handles and window line is also seen on the petrol version, while the EV keeps a cleaner finish.

Another detail visible in teaser images is the camera placement under the ORVMs and front bumper. This confirms the addition of a 360-degree camera system, which could become a major feature in this segment.

Cabin updates and expected features

The cabin has not been fully revealed yet, but a few details are already expected from the updated models.

The dashboard layout is likely to continue with the newer setup introduced earlier, including the illuminated steering wheel logo and larger infotainment screen, so this facelift is expected to fine-tune the design rather than change everything again.

A few cabin highlights expected on the updated Tiago range include:

New free-standing digital instrument cluster

10.25-inch infotainment system expected to continue

New steering wheel design with illuminated logo

Other expected features include:

Automatic headlights and wipers

Cruise control

Automatic climate control

Cooled glovebox

Tyre pressure monitoring system

A major change expected is in terms of safety. The new model is likely to offer 6 airbags as standard across all variants, which is a big step up from the outgoing version.

Engine and EV setup

The petrol Tiago is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre engine setup. No major mechanical changes are expected.

1.2-litre petrol engine

86 PS power output

113 Nm torque

5-speed manual and AMT options

CNG version also expected to continue

The Tiago EV is also likely to carry forward the current battery setup, though small improvements may be added.

19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs

Power output between 61 PS and 75 PS

Claimed range between 223 km and 293 km

Some reports also suggest small upgrades in battery efficiency and charging performance, but full details are still not confirmed.
The post New Tata Tiago And Tiago EV Revealed Before Launch With Fresh Design first appeared on Motoroids.

Royal Enfield is preparing for another big expansion in India. The company has announced plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of around Rs 2,500 crore. The new plant is expected to come up in Tada, located in the Tirupati district.

For Royal Enfield, this step comes at a time when demand for its motorcycles continues to stay strong across India and international markets. From the Classic 350 to the Interceptor 650, the brand has steadily grown over the last few years, and its current production setup is already running close to full capacity.

The new project will move ahead in phases and will depend on future demand and market conditions. Final approval from the company’s board is still pending.

The company has already secured land for the upcoming facility in Andhra Pradesh. Tada is slowly becoming an important industrial hub due to its location and connectivity.

The upcoming factory will support future motorcycle production and help the company prepare for upcoming products as well.

At present, Royal Enfield operates four manufacturing plants in Tamil Nadu.

Key highlights –

Existing production capacity stands at around 14.6 lakh units annually

Current facilities are nearing full utilisation

Expansion plans are already underway in Tamil Nadu too

Earlier this year, the company also announced a Rs 958 crore investment at its Cheyyar facility. That project is expected to increase annual production capacity to around 20 lakh units.

The Andhra Pradesh plant is expected to strengthen long-term manufacturing plans further.

Strong growth across markets

Royal Enfield has seen major growth not just in India, but across global markets too. The company now sells motorcycles in more than 80 countries.

Its international operations include CKD and assembly facilities in several markets.

Brazil

Thailand

Nepal

Bangladesh

Argentina

Colombia

Two assembly units are already operating in Brazil, while the remaining countries have one facility each.

The company also has technical centres in:

Chennai

Bruntingthorpe in the UK

These centres work on future products, engineering and development projects.

Retail network continues to grow

Royal Enfield has also expanded its dealership and service network in a big way over the years.

More than 3,200 stores across India and global markets

Over 100 retail and service outlets in Andhra Pradesh alone

More than 1,200 direct and indirect jobs already created in the state

The company says Andhra Pradesh remains an important market for future growth and expansion.

Future motorcycles and expansion plans

Royal Enfield is currently working on several new motorcycles for different segments. The company is also preparing next-generation products for global markets.

There are reports of bigger twin-cylinder motorcycles under development, including models expected to use a new 750cc platform.

With more products likely in the future, additional production support becomes necessary. That is one of the key reasons behind this large investment.

The company has steadily expanded from being a retro motorcycle maker into a much bigger global brand with products across multiple categories.
The post Royal Enfield plans a new Andhra Pradesh manufacturing plant with Rs 2,500 crore investment first appeared on Motoroids.

Electric motorcycles are slowly getting more attention in India. Buyers now want better range, more performance and modern features in everyday bikes. Because of this, new electric motorcycles are seeing stronger demand than before.

The Oben Rorr Evo is a fresh example of that shift. The motorcycle has already crossed 25,000 bookings within just 15 days of launch. That is a strong response for a new electric motorcycle in India.

Oben launched the Rorr Evo last month. The company is offering an introductory price of Rs 99,999 ex showroom for the first 10,000 buyers. After that, the price will increase to Rs 1,24,999 ex showroom.

Customers can now make payments through the official website. Meanwhile, deliveries will begin from June 2026.

Battery And Performance

The Oben Rorr Evo uses a 9 kW IPMSM electric motor. It also gets a 3.4 kWh LFP battery pack.

The motorcycle delivers:

180 km IDC range

110 kmph top speed

0 to 40 kmph in 3 seconds

250 Nm wheel torque

The bike also supports fast charging. As a result, the battery can charge from 0 to 80 percent in around 90 minutes.

Oben has also given the battery an 8 year warranty. That could help many buyers feel more confident about ownership and long term usage.

In addition, the company says the motor is more compact than before while producing better performance.

Features And Technology

The Rorr Evo comes with several connected features for daily use. It also gets safety and convenience functions through the brand’s software platform.

Features include:

5 inch TFT colour display

OTA updates

Turn by turn navigation

Geo fencing

Remote immobilisation

Fall detection

Emergency SOS support

The motorcycle also gets SmartIQ technology. According to the company, this system can improve riding range by up to 15 percent in certain conditions.

Apart from technology, the bike also focuses on practicality. Buyers get a long seat along with 10 litres of storage space.

Showroom Network And Expansion

The company currently operates through more than 150 showrooms and service centres across India. Its network already covers over 100 cities and more than 18 states.

At the same time, expansion plans are already in place.

Future plans include:

200 more showrooms by FY27

Dedicated Oben Care service centres

Production capacity of 1 lakh motorcycles per year

The company also builds many important EV parts in house. This includes motors, battery packs, chargers, software systems and vehicle control units.

Because of this, production and supply could become easier as demand increases.

Growing Demand For Electric Motorcycles

Electric scooters still dominate the EV market in India. However, motorcycles are now slowly gaining momentum as well.

Many buyers now want electric bikes that offer stronger performance along with modern technology and everyday usability. The Rorr Evo seems to fit into that space quite well.

The strong booking numbers clearly show that customer interest in electric motorcycles is increasing

Skoda has always been known for making cars that feel solid and fun to drive. From sharp steering to stable high-speed performance, the brand has built a strong image among driving enthusiasts in India. Now, the carmaker has added another achievement to that story with its new ‘G.O.A.T’ campaign.

Now, you might think G.O.A.T simply stands for Greatest Of All Time, but there’s a small twist here. For the brand, it stands for Greatest On A Track. Along with that, Skoda is also using the term S.O.A.T, short for Skoda On A Track. To kick things off, the brand went to the CoASTT racing circuit in Coimbatore and created a new multi-car relay record with five different models.

The record was monitored by both the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

A total of five Skoda models took part in the relay run:

Kylaq 1.0 AT

Kushaq 1.5 DSG

Slavia 1.5 DSG

Kodiaq Selection L&K

Octavia RS

Each car was driven one after another by different drivers in a continuous timed session. Even the pit lane driver swaps were included in the final timing.

The complete relay was finished in 12 minutes and 30.97 seconds.

Among all the cars, the Octavia RS posted the quickest lap around the 3.8 km circuit.

Octavia RS – 2:10.85

Kodiaq L&K – 2:26.34

Slavia – 2:27.63

Kushaq – 2:29.7

Kylaq – 2:31.6

The interesting part here is the variety in the lineup. The fleet included compact SUVs, a sedan, a luxury SUV and a performance sedan. Despite being very different from each other, all five models delivered strong lap times during the relay.

Skoda says the campaign is not only about speed. The company also wants to show the balance between performance, handling, braking and safety across its lineup.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, said the motorsport DNA of the brand is present across every model and not limited to performance cars alone.

The campaign also connects with Skoda’s long motorsport history. The company has been involved in racing for more than 100 years. Its RS badge first appeared in 1975 with the Skoda 130 RS, which later became one of the brand’s most recognised performance cars.

Many of those sporty characteristics can still be felt in the current India lineup.

Turbo petrol engines

DSG automatic gearboxes

Strong chassis balance

High speed stability

Sharp steering response

The campaign arrives at a time when the company is expanding strongly in India. Its sales network has now crossed more than 330 touchpoints spread across 182 cities.

Current models sold in India include:

Kylaq

Kushaq

Slavia

Kodiaq

Octavia RS

The new G.O.A.T campaign adds a fresh performance angle to the brand image. Rather than talking only through specifications, the company used a real track challenge to show what its cars can do together on a racing circuit.
The post Skoda Auto India launches new ‘G.O.A.T’ campaign first appeared on Motoroids.

A lot of scooter buyers in India know the Burgman Street as a practical everyday machine with comfortable seating and good road presence. Now, Suzuki has taken off the wraps from a much bigger version overseas called the Burgman 15, and it looks far more serious than the scooter we get here.

The new model has been revealed in Colombia and carries a proper maxi scooter layout. It gets a larger body, a stronger engine, more features and bigger wheels. The styling also feels sharper and more premium than the India-spec Burgman Street 125.

The front section gets an entirely fresh look. There is a split LED headlamp setup along with a projector unit placed in the centre. The daytime running lights give the scooter a more aggressive face, while the wider apron adds to the road presence.

From the side, the scooter looks much larger than the Burgman Street sold in India. It uses a centre spine chassis layout, which is common in bigger maxi scooters. The footboard area gets stepped sections, and the seat looks long and wide for both rider and pillion comfort.

Split LED headlamp setup

Projector lighting unit

Chunky body panels

Stepped single-piece seat

Large split grab rails

The rear design also looks cleaner and more premium compared to the smaller Burgman.

Bigger wheels and hardware

One major change is the wheel setup. The Burgman 15 rides on 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends, unlike the smaller wheels seen on the Indian Burgman Street.

This setup is expected to improve stability and ride quality.

For suspension, it gets:

Telescopic front forks

Dual rear shock absorbers

Other details include:

760 mm seat height

145 kg kerb weight

8-litre fuel tank

The scooter also gets a larger underseat storage area, which looks much roomier than the India-spec model.

Engine and performance

Suzuki has equipped the Burgman 15 with a bigger 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine.

Key numbers –

14.2 bhp at 8,500 rpm

14.2 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm

Compared to the Burgman Street 125, this scooter offers noticeably more performance. It is designed for riders who want stronger acceleration and better highway capability without moving to a motorcycle.

The scooter also gets an idle stop-start system, which helps improve fuel efficiency in traffic conditions.

Features and technology

Suzuki has packed this scooter with several premium features. The equipment list feels closer to what buyers now expect from bigger premium scooters.

These include –

Full colour TFT display

Smartphone connectivity

Turn-by-turn navigation

Keyless ignition

USB-C charging port

Safety features are also stronger here.

Dual-channel ABS

Rear disc brake

Switchable traction control

LED lighting setup

The traction control system is a rare feature in this segment and adds extra confidence on slippery roads.

India launch possibility

Right now, there is no confirmation about an India launch. The scooter market here is still dominated by 110cc and 125cc models, which sell in much larger numbers.

Still, the Burgman name already has strong recognition in India. Buyers are also slowly moving towards more premium scooters with bigger engines and extra features.

If launched here in the future, the Burgman 150 could sit against models like:

Yamaha Aerox 155

Hero Xoom 160

It may attract riders looking for comfort and practicality along with a bigger scooter feel.
The post Suzuki Burgman 150 Unveiled Overseas – Could This Be The Premium Scooter India Wants? first appeared on Motoroids.

Many people buying their first vehicle in Delhi no longer consider purchasing a new entry level car to be the obvious option. Today, buyers take into account multiple factors, including cost, features, operating expenses, future resale value, comfort, and overall experience of ownership.

This is one of the reasons why used cars in Delhi are seeing strong interest among first-time buyers. Instead of spending their entire budget on a basic new car, many buyers are choosing well-maintained second hand cars that offer better features, better space, and better value for money.

New Entry-Level Cars Are No Longer That Affordable

In the past, entry-level cars were popular due to their simplicity, affordability, and low maintenance requirements. However, the price of purchasing a new vehicle has grown significantly over time. The ex-showroom price is only one aspect of what you will need to spend on a new vehicle. Once the road tax, registration, insurance and other fees are added on to the ex-showroom price, you will find that the total amount quickly skyrockets.

For a first-time buyer in Delhi, this can stretch the budget quickly. A car that looks affordable at first may end up costing much more by the time it is ready to drive home.

This is how second-hand cars in Delhi can be an affordable option for customers as many times they are able to buy a higher specification or higher variants at the same price that they had budgeted for a basic new one.

Used Cars In Delhi Offer More Value for the Same Budget

One of the biggest reasons first-time buyers are moving towards pre-owned cars is simple: they get a better car for the same money.

What First-Time Buyers Often Get with Used Cars

With a similar budget, buyers may find:

A better designed car that is more user-friendly and comfortable.

A larger, better sized vehicle that provides additional interior space.

Automatic transmission options that create less stress in urban driving.

Cars that offer more safety features than new basic variants.

Total cost of ownership is less expensive.

Cars that have already gone through their steepest depreciation.

This makes used cars in Delhi especially appealing for buyers who want a practical first car without feeling limited by entry-level options.

New Cars vs Used Cars: What Buyers Are Comparing

Factor

New Entry-Level Car

Used Car

Price

Higher on-the-road costs after taxes and insurance

More options within the same budget

Features

Lower trims have just a few base features

Higher variants often available

Depreciation

Sharpest in the first few years

Less depreciation after initial ownership

Choice

Limited by budget

Wider choice across segments

Comfort

Depends on variant

Better-equipped vehicles may be available

Ownership confidence

Brand-new vehicle

Buying from certified sources increases purchase transparency

Depreciation Is a Major Deciding Factor

New buyers are also increasingly considering depreciation. The value of a new car begins depreciating almost immediately after it is bought, typically losing most of its value during the first couple of years. This may be a real issue for first-time buyers who may wish to upgrade their cars in the future.

Since the first owner of a second-hand car has already experienced the majority of depreciation, it gives the second-hand buyer a greater opportunity to own their vehicle at a price which will remain relatively stable. If they choose to sell the vehicle after a couple of years, they will most likely not have to take a big hit in the price difference.

This is one of the key reasons why pre-owned cars are now being seen as financially sensible rather than just a budget compromise.

Certified Used Cars Have Changed Buyer Confidence

In the past, purchasing a second-hand car was viewed as potentially risky. Buyers would often express concerns about hidden damage, lack of documentation, unclear accident and maintenance history, or, most importantly, tampered odometers. First-time buyers had even more anxiety than others because they lacked the knowledge and experience to do a proper inspection of the vehicle.

That has changed with certified used car platforms like Spinny. Buyers can now explore inspected second hand cars in Delhi with clearer information, transparent pricing, and support through the buying process.

Why This Matters for First-Time Buyers

Certified buying experiences help because they offer:

Complete detailed inspection report

Fair and transparent price with no hidden costs

Clear title and insurance paperwork

Ability to test drive the car before purchasing

Assistance with financing options and RC transfer

Easier and less stressful buying process

For a first-time buyer, this makes the used car buying experience feel far more reliable.

Financing Has Made Used Cars In Delhi More Accessible

Used car financing has also improved. Earlier, buyers often assumed that loans were easier only for new cars. Today, many buyers can explore EMI options for second hand cars, making ownership easier to plan.

Salaried workers, younger families, and new drivers will benefit from this change. Rather than making an upfront payment of a large sum when buying a pre-owned car, buyers can use a defined structure of monthly payments to manage the purchase.

Conclusion

Many first-time buyers in Delhi are choosing used cars as they now prioritise value, comfort, features, lower depreciation and a trusted buying process. While new entry-level cars are still enticing to some, many buyers realise the benefits of choosing used cars in Delhi.

For today’s buyer, second hand cars are no longer seen as a fallback option. They are becoming a smart first-car choice, especially when certified platforms make the process simpler, clearer, and more reliable.
The post Why First-Time Buyers in Delhi are Choosing Used Cars over New Entry-Level Cars first appeared on Motoroids.
