If you have been waiting for the Renault Kwid to get a fresh update, the wait is almost over. Renault is all set to introduce the facelifted Kwid in India on July 3 with a new look and a few useful feature additions.

The Renault Kwid has been one of the brand’s most popular cars in India for many years. It has attracted first-time buyers with its SUV-like styling, compact size and affordable price. Now, Renault is ready with a mid-life update that is expected to give the hatchback a fresher appearance without changing what buyers already like about it.

Expected Exterior Updates

Spy images have already given a fair idea of what the new Kwid could look like.

Expected changes include:

New front grille

Revised front and rear bumpers

Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps

New Y-shaped tail lamps

Fresh alloy wheel design

Slightly updated Renault logo

Design inspired by the Dacia Spring EV

The changes are expected to make the hatchback look more modern while keeping its familiar shape.

Cabin And Features

The cabin is also likely to receive several updates.

Expected features:

Larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system

Fully digital instrument cluster

New steering wheel

Updated dashboard layout

Better quality cabin materials

Six airbags could be offered

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support

These additions may make the Kwid feel more premium than the current version.

Engine And Gearbox

Renault is not expected to make any mechanical changes.

Specification

Details

Engine

1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol

Power

Around 68 hp

Torque

96 Nm

Manual Gearbox

5-speed

Automatic

5-speed AMT

The engine is known for its fuel efficiency and is mainly suited for daily city driving.

Expected Price

The current Renault Kwid is priced between Rs 4.30 lakh and Rs 5.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift is expected to cost slightly more because of the added features and styling updates.

Engine and mileage

There are no mechanical changes. The Passion+ Disc continues with the familiar 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine.

The engine produces 8.02bhp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. It is paired with a 4-speed gearbox and also gets Hero’s i3S idle stop-start system to improve fuel efficiency.

Hero claims a mileage figure of 71kmpl.

Braking and hardware

The biggest change is the addition of a 240mm front disc brake, replacing the drum brake offered on the standard version. The rear continues with a drum brake supported by the Integrated Braking System (IBS).

The motorcycle rides on telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Alloy wheels and tubeless tyres continue without any changes.

Should you consider it?

Buyers who were planning to purchase the Passion+ now have another option. The new Disc variant adds better braking along with a digital console and a few useful everyday features, while retaining the same trusted engine and claimed fuel efficiency. For daily commuting, these updates make the new variant a more practical choice.
The post Hero Passion+ Disc launched in India at Rs. 84,128 first appeared on Motoroids.

Earlier this year, Honda officially commenced testing its new electric SUV on Indian roads. Since then, the test model has been spotted in different parts of the country. Now, fresh spy images from Manali have revealed the cabin for the first time, giving us a better look at what buyers can expect from Honda’s first India-made electric SUV.

Honda 0 Alpha cabin spied

The latest test car gives a clear view of the dashboard. Honda has gone for a clean layout with fewer design elements. The dashboard looks completely different from the cars the brand currently sells in India.

Some key details visible in the spy images include:

Large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system

Separate fully digital instrument cluster

New three-spoke multifunction steering wheel

Physical buttons placed below the touchscreen

Minimal dashboard design with clean lines

The touchscreen appears much bigger than the displays available in the Honda City or Elevate. It is also expected to support connected car features, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, navigation and EV-related information.

Physical controls are still present

Many new cars now move almost every function to the touchscreen. Honda has taken a different route.

The centre console still gets physical buttons and switches, which are likely to control the climate system and a few other functions. This should make daily use easier as drivers will not have to depend on the touchscreen for every setting.

Behind the steering wheel, the digital driver’s display appears smaller than the infotainment screen but should show important driving information, battery status and range.

Exterior design remains under wraps

Although the SUV is still covered with heavy camouflage, its overall shape is now easy to notice.

When you hear the name Hyundai Elantra, one thing instantly comes to mind. It was one of Hyundai’s premium sedans that stayed on sale in India until 2022. It sat above the Verna and built a loyal fan following over the years. Now, Hyundai has officially revealed the eighth-generation Elantra, also known as the Avante in South Korea, at the 2026 Busan Mobility Show. The sedan now gets a completely different design, a larger body, an all-new cabin and updated petrol and hybrid powertrain options.

The latest model also introduces Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment system and several advanced safety features.

Bigger Dimensions

The new Elantra has grown in size compared to the older model.

Dimension

New Hyundai Elantra

Length

4,765 mm

Width

1,855 mm

Height

1,425 mm

Wheelbase

2,750 mm

The longer wheelbase should also give passengers more legroom, especially at the rear.

Exterior Gets A New Identity

The new Elantra looks very different from the outgoing The eighth-generation Elantra brings a radical change in design. It is based on Hyundai’s new ‘Art of Steel’ design language, which gives the sedan a bolder and more premium appearance. Compared to the previous model, the sharp triangular cuts have made way for cleaner surfaces and stronger proportions, helping the car look wider and more planted on the road. Every panel has been redesigned, giving the sedan a stronger road presence.

Some key highlights include:

Split LED headlamp setup

T-shaped daytime running lights

Wide front bumper with sporty design

Strong shoulder line

Larger wheel arches

18-inch alloy wheels

Smooth sloping roofline

New T-shaped LED tail lamps

Integrated boot spoiler

The sharp lines of the previous model have been replaced by a cleaner and more premium appearance.

Cabin Looks More Premium

The interior has received one of the biggest updates. Hyundai has given the dashboard a cleaner layout while keeping physical buttons for important controls. This should make everyday use easier without depending only on the touchscreen.

Features include:

Up to 14.6-inch touchscreen

Slim digital instrument display

Safety Gets Better

Hyundai has added several new safety technologies.

The sedan comes with:

10 airbags

ADAS suite

Highway Driving Assist 2

Smart Cruise Control 2

Electronic parking brake with Auto Hold

Pedal Misapplication Safety Assist

The new cruise control system can automatically slow the car in selected areas before returning to the set speed.

Petrol And Hybrid Options

The new Elantra will be available with two engine choices.

Engine

Power

2.0-litre petrol

149 hp

1.6-litre hybrid

157 hp

The hybrid version also gets smarter regenerative braking, predictive hybrid control and a new Stay Mode that allows occupants to use features like climate control and infotainment while the engine remains switched off for a limited time.

What About India?

Hyundai has not announced any plans for the new Elantra in India. The company currently offers the Verna in the sedan segment, while SUVs continue to attract stronger demand. As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the launch of the new-generation Elantra for the Indian market.
The post 8th-Gen Hyundai Elantra Unveiled: Bigger, Smarter, and Packed With New Tech first appeared on Motoroids.

A lot of people look at mileage, features and engine options before buying a car. But resale value matters too. Nobody likes seeing their car lose a big chunk of its value after a few years. That is where the Kia Seltos has done well.

According to a recent study conducted with Spinny, the Seltos Petrol Automatic has recorded the highest value retention among mid size SUVs. The model holds on to 79 percent of its original value.

Value Retention

Ownership Period

Value Retained

1 Year

79%

3 Years

67%

5 Years

57%

Those numbers are important because depreciation is one of the biggest ownership costs for any vehicle.

The study also found that the Seltos range continues to perform strongly over a longer period.

66% average value retained after 3 years

55% average value retained after 5 years

Among the strongest performers in its segment

Why Does The Seltos Hold Its Value?

There is no single reason.

The SUV has been popular since day one. Buyers have plenty of engine and gearbox options to choose from. The feature list is also one of the reasons many customers keep coming back to the Seltos.

A few factors working in its favour:

Strong demand in the used car market

Well known brand image

Wide service network

Feature rich package

Consistent sales over the years

More than 6.5 lakh units of the Seltos have been sold in India so far. That is a sizeable number and shows how well accepted the SUV has been.

What It Means For Owners

A higher resale value can make a real difference when it is time to sell or exchange a vehicle. It can also help reduce the overall cost of ownership.

For buyers who think beyond the purchase price, the Kia Seltos remains one of the stronger options in the mid size SUV space.
The post Kia Seltos Petrol Automatic retains 79% of its value first appeared on Motoroids.

Land Rover Classic has unveiled one of its most unusual Defender projects yet. Built for a private customer, the collection includes four remastered Classic Defender V8 models finished in a special paint shade that changes colour depending on the light.

The custom-built family includes four different Defender body styles. Each one has been restored and upgraded by Land Rover Classic while retaining the character of the original model.

Four Defenders, One Matching Theme

Defender 90 Station Wagon

Defender 90 Soft Top

Defender 110 Station Wagon

Defender 110 Double Cab Pick-Up

All four models feature a new Spectral Green paint finish. Depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions, the colour can appear green, purple or gold.

Land Rover says each vehicle spent nearly 400 hours in its paint facility for preparation, painting, colour matching and final finishing work.

Exterior Highlights

Feature

Details

Paint Finish

Spectral Green colour-shifting paint

Roof Colour

Icy White

Wheels

18-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels

Coachlines

Hand-painted white finish

Expedition Cage

Finished in Icy White

Buyers can also opt for a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with Bluetooth and digital radio functions.

New Body Style Options Added

Land Rover Classic has expanded the Defender V8 restoration programme with two additional body styles.

These include:

Defender 110 Double Cab Pick-Up

Defender 90 Hard Top

They join the existing Station Wagon and Soft Top versions already available through the Classic Defender V8 programme.

V8 Power Remains

Every Classic Defender V8 uses a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre petrol V8 engine producing 405 PS and 515 Nm. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The vehicles also receive upgraded suspension, steering and braking components as part of the restoration process.
The post Land Rover Classic unveils Four Unique Defender V8 Models With Colour-Shifting Paint first appeared on Motoroids.

Electric scooters are becoming a common sight on Indian roads, and the TVS iQube is one of the names that has played a significant role in that journey. TVS Motor Company has now achieved a major milestone, with the one millionth iQube rolling out from its Hosur manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.

The achievement comes nearly six years after the electric scooter was first introduced in 2020. During this period, the iQube has steadily expanded its presence across cities and towns, helping TVS build a strong position in India’s electric two wheeler market.

TVS iQube Range At A Glance

Variant

Battery Options

iQube

2.2 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh

iQube S

4.7 kWh

iQube ST

5.3 kWh

Over the years, TVS has introduced multiple versions of the scooter to suit different buyers. Customers can choose from several battery pack options, depending on their daily riding needs and budget.

Numbers Behind The Milestone

The growing iQube community has created some impressive figures since launch.

More than 10 lakh iQube scooters have been produced

Riders have collectively covered over 14.94 billion kilometres

TVS now has over 3,300 sales and service touchpoints

The network spans more than 3,000 cities across India

The company says the distance covered by iQube owners has helped reduce around 5.22 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions. According to TVS, the environmental impact is comparable to planting nearly 2.09 crore trees.

What TVS Said

Speaking on the occasion, TVS Motor Company Chairman Sudarshan Venu said,

“The rollout of one million TVS iQubes reflects the scale at which electric mobility is becoming part of everyday life in India. The milestone is built on years of investment in engineering, innovation and manufacturing capabilities that have enabled us to build world-class electric mobility solutions designed and manufactured in India for the world. As India progresses towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, it has a unique opportunity to emerge as a global leader in the future of mobility. At TVS Motor, we remain committed to advancing this vision through exciting and sustainable mobility solutions that strengthen India’s position as a global mobility powerhouse.”

Strong Growth Since Launch

From a single electric scooter launched in 2020, the iQube portfolio has grown into one of the country’s most popular EV ranges. A wider choice of variants, expanding infrastructure and increasing customer acceptance have helped the scooter reach the 10 lakh production milestone.
The post TVS iQube Reaches 10 Lakh Production Mark first appeared on Motoroids.

Party peshi, sometimes written as party appearance, is when the RTO requires the seller, the buyer, or both to appear in person so an officer can verify the transfer. It is a check, not a punishment, and it exists to confirm that the people behind the paperwork are genuine.

It usually comes up when something needs human verification that documents alone cannot settle. Knowing it can happen helps you plan, because an unexpected summons in the middle of a transfer is what turns a smooth sale into a delayed one.

Organised platforms such as Cars24 support the RC transfer and let sellers track its status, but party peshi is an RTO requirement, so no platform can waive it where the transport department asks for an in-person appearance.

When does an RTO require party peshi?

There is no single national rule, and practice varies by state and even by RTO. Common triggers include a mismatch between the name or signature on the documents and RTO records, a suspected case of fraud or impersonation, an address that cannot be verified, or a transfer involving inheritance, a company, or a power of attorney.

High-value vehicles and inter-state transfers can also attract extra scrutiny. The table below lists the common triggers and the document or action that usually resolves each one.

Common party-peshi triggers and how to resolve each as provided from experts by used car platform Cars24:

Trigger

Why it happens

What resolves it

Name or signature mismatch

Records do not match documents

Correct records or provide matching proof

Suspected fraud or impersonation

Identity needs human verification

Appear with originals and ID

Unverifiable address

Address proof is unclear

Provide valid, current address proof

Inheritance or company transfer

Ownership chain needs checking

Carry succession or authorisation documents

Inter-state or high-value case

Extra scrutiny applied

Complete Form 28, NOC and supporting papers

Platform transfer support

Helpful, not a waiver

Cars24 supports and tracks the transfer, but cannot waive an RTO party peshi requirement

Why can it delay your sale by 30 or more days?

The delay is rarely the appearance itself; it is the scheduling around it. You may need an appointment, the right people have to be available on the same day, and the RTO may have a backlog. Each step adds days, and a missed or rescheduled slot can push the timeline well past a month.

Because the registered owner stays on record until the transfer completes, a long party peshi delay also extends your risk window for challans and incidents. That is why preparing early matters more than reacting late.

How do you prepare so party peshi does not stall you?

Get ahead of the common triggers. Make sure the name, address and signature on your documents match RTO records, and correct any mismatch before you sell. Keep originals of the RC, ID and address proof ready, and ensure the buyer’s documents are equally clean.

If the car had a loan, clear the hypothecation with the NOC and Form 35 first, since unresolved entries invite scrutiny. Submitting a complete, consistent set of documents reduces the chance the RTO asks anyone to appear at all.

What are your options if you cannot appear in person?

If you genuinely cannot attend, options depend on the RTO. Some accept a properly executed power of attorney that authorises someone to appear on your behalf, with supporting identity proof. Others may allow rescheduling to a date you can attend.

Confirm what your specific RTO accepts before assuming a substitute will work, because rules differ. Keep written records of any authorisation and of your communication with the RTO, so there is no dispute about who was permitted to act for you.

Key terms defined

Party peshi: A required in-person appearance at the RTO to verify a transfer.

RTO: The Regional Transport Office that handles vehicle registration and transfer.

Power of attorney: A legal authorisation allowing someone to act on your behalf.

Document mismatch: A difference between your papers and the RTO’s records that needs verification.

Risk window: The period before transfer completes during which you stay on record.

Limitations and edge cases

Whether party peshi is required, and how long it adds, is decided by the individual RTO and varies across states, so no fixed timeline can be promised. What works in one office may not in another. A power of attorney or rescheduling may be accepted in some places and refused in others. Confirm the current practice with your RTO. [VALIDATE: party peshi triggers and resolution steps confirmed against current RTO practice]

Why this matters for sellers

Party peshi is one of the few steps no platform controls. An organised platform such as Cars24 can drive the transfer and flag a clean document set, which lowers the chance of a peshi trigger, but the RTO still decides.
The post What Is Party Peshi in RC Transfer and Why It Can Delay Your Sale by 30+ Days first appeared on Motoroids.
