The Suzuki Hayabusa Special Edition is priced at Rs 19.90 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The standard Hayabusa is also available at Rs 18.99 lakh. Both versions can now be bought through Suzuki Motorcycle India dealerships.

Special Edition Details

The special version comes in Pearl Vigor Blue and gets several cosmetic additions. Other highlights are

• Special graphics and a different wheel finish
• 3D Suzuki emblem on the fuel tank
• Special Edition badge
• Anodised muffler-end and heat-guard parts
• Single-seat cowl offered as standard

The changes are mainly seen on the outside, giving this version its own look while keeping the familiar Hayabusa shape.

Three New Colours For The Standard Model

Suzuki has also added three new dual-tone colour combinations to the regular Hayabusa:

New Battery And Electronics

There is more than just new paint and styling. Both versions get a new ELIIY Power lithium-ion battery. It is lighter and more compact, while Suzuki says it offers more stable voltage under load.

The Launch Control System and Power Mode Selector have also received revised settings.

Another useful change is found in the Smart Cruise Control system. It can now stay active while the rider changes gears, so the selected speed does not need to be set again after every shift.

1,340cc Four-Cylinder Engine

The Hayabusa continues with its 1,340cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC inline-four engine. Suzuki has also worked on the exhaust note through its Exhaust Sound Quality Evaluation Program.

The equipment list includes Motion Track Traction Control, bi-directional quickshifter, Suzuki Easy Start System, Low RPM Assist, Slope Dependent Control System and full-LED lighting.

Suzuki Genuine Accessories and Hayabusa riding gear will also be available through dealerships.

The new edition adds a few visual touches and electronic updates to a motorcycle that already has a long history in India.

The biggest change for buyers is seen in the starting price. With BaaS, the battery cost is separated from the vehicle price. This brings down the initial price paid for the car, while the battery is financed through a separate arrangement.

Tata EV BaaS prices

The Tiago EV has the lowest BaaS entry price at Rs 4.69 lakh. The Harrier EV sits at the other end with a BaaS price of Rs 14.49 lakh. The difference between the normal starting price and BaaS price ranges from Rs 2.30 lakh on the Tiago EV to Rs 7.30 lakh on the Harrier EV.

How the Tata BaaS system works

Tata treats BaaS as a dual-loan finance product. The vehicle and battery are financed separately, and the monthly battery payment can change according to the battery capacity, down payment and selected loan tenure.

Charging is not included

The per-kilometre figures also need to be understood properly. They do not cover the electricity used for charging the car. Maintenance, repairs and other ownership expenses are also separate.

Tata’s calculation uses 60km of daily running for most of the range. The Tiago EV uses an assumption of 44km per day. Actual costs can therefore vary depending on how much a customer drives and the finance terms offered.

Road tax, insurance, TCS and other statutory charges are also excluded from the quoted prices.

More EVs now get the option

Tata says the wider BaaS availability gives customers another way to structure their EV purchase. The company has extended the scheme from its smaller electric cars to models such as the Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV.

The move also comes as more manufacturers in India experiment with battery-related payment plans. Mahindra has introduced BaaS options for the XEV 9S and XEV 9e, while MG and other brands have also introduced similar ownership structures.

For buyers, the main difference is the lower initial vehicle price. The actual cost of ownership will depend on the battery payment, loan tenure, daily usage and charging expenses. Buyers can therefore compare both Tata purchase options before selecting the structure that fits their monthly budget and driving pattern.

Jeep Wrangler Whitecap Mojito: What’s New?

The exterior undergoes a bold visual transformation. The SUV is wrapped in a vibrant Mojito Green finish, brilliantly offset by a crisp white hardtop and matching white accents framing the iconic front grille.

The side and rear profiles gain distinct heritage-inspired styling touches:

• ‘1941’ bonnet decals celebrating Jeep’s wartime Willys MB roots.
• White horizontal graphics running cleanly across the doors.
• Sleek, body-coloured fenders that amplify the premium look.

Engine And 4×4 Hardware

There are no major mechanical changes planned for the special edition. It uses the Wrangler’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine produces up to 268bhp and 400Nm. An 8-speed automatic gearbox sends power to all four wheels through the 4×4 system.

The Rubicon hardware is also carried over. Jeep’s India specification includes a heavy-duty setup, while the Rubicon gets Rock-Trac 4WD, Tru-Lok locking differentials and an electronic sway bar disconnect. An integrated off-road camera is also part of the equipment list.

Price and Launch Timeline

Currently, the standard Wrangler Unlimited is priced at Rs 66.20 lakh, while the hardcore Rubicon sits at Rs 70.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The exclusive Whitecap Mojito Edition is expected to carry a premium of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh, depending on the chosen trim layout. Final pricing will be revealed at launch.

The new Slavia gets changes to its design, cabin and equipment list. There is also a new automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI engine.

New look for the Slavia

The facelift does not bring a completely new design, but several parts of the sedan have been revised.

The entry Classic and Classic+ versions use analogue instruments with a multi-information display. Signature and Sportline get an 8-inch digital unit, while Prestige and Monte Carlo receive the larger 10.25-inch screen with turn-by-turn navigation.

Engine options stay familiar

The Slavia continues with two turbo-petrol engines. The smaller unit is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI producing 115hp, while the 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI develops 150hp.

The biggest mechanical update is the new eight-speed torque-converter automatic with the 1.0 TSI. It replaces the earlier six-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5 TSI continues with its seven-speed DSG automatic.

Safety and Market Launch

Six airbags are standard, along with a long list of active and passive safety features. Skoda has also carried forward the Slavia’s 5-star Global NCAP safety credentials. This refers to the existing rating and is not a fresh crash test of the facelift.

Bookings are already open, while prices are expected to be announced in early October. Deliveries are planned during the festive season. The outgoing Slavia was priced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18.19 lakh, ex-showroom, so the facelift is expected to cost more.

The new Slavia will continue to compete with cars such as the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus. With production now underway, the next major details are its final prices and variant-wise equipment.

The new engine is offered with a five-speed manual gearbox. Renault has also made several mechanical changes to suit the more powerful engine, while the cabin and exterior continue with the familiar Triber package.

Renault Triber Turbo: Price and variants

The turbo version is available with a five-speed manual gearbox and can be bought in three trims.

The naturally aspirated Triber starts at Rs 5.80 lakh. The turbo version therefore carries a higher price, with the extra cost bringing a much stronger engine.

More power from the 1.0-litre turbo engine

The Triber now gets a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TCe turbo-petrol engine. It produces 99bhp and 180Nm. The naturally aspirated engine produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm.

The engine is related to the HR10 unit used in the Kiger and Duster 1.0. Renault has used a new engine management system for the Triber, along with other mechanical changes.

The turbo engine is not the only mechanical update. Renault has also worked on the chassis and control systems to handle the extra performance.

It continues with LED headlamps and DRLs, a gloss-black grille, 15-inch wheels with dual-tone covers, roof rails and gloss-black door handles and ORVMs. At the rear, LED tail-lamps are linked by gloss-black trim.

Inside, the seven-seat layout is carried forward. Equipment includes an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, automatic climate control and cruise control.

Other features include:

• Automatic headlights and wipers
• Rear washer and wiper
• Push-button start/stop
• Separate rear blower control
• 625-litre boot space with the third row folded

Safety and future gearbox option

Safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, hill-start assist, TPMS and Isofix mounts. The Triber has previously scored four stars in Global NCAP testing.

The turbo model currently gets only the five-speed manual gearbox. Renault is expected to introduce a CVT automatic option later, which would give buyers an automatic choice with the more powerful engine.

With the new engine, the Triber now offers a sizeable step up in performance without giving up its seven-seat layout and practical cabin.

The new model is still under development, so Honda has not confirmed its name, specifications or launch date. Project discussions are understood to include a price range of around Rs 9 lakh to Rs 12 lakh and production from October 2028.

A different engine plan for Honda

Honda has traditionally developed its engines in-house. The company currently uses 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engines across its India range. Developing separate versions for petrol, CNG and hybrid applications can take considerable time and money.

Horse Powertrain could provide Honda with another route.

Horse Powertrain is a joint venture between Renault Group and Geely, with Saudi Aramco holding a 10 percent stake. The company works on combustion engines, hybrid systems, transmissions and other powertrain technology.

Horse already has an Indian connection. The upcoming Renault Duster hybrid is set to use a Horse 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain. Horse is also looking at setting up an engine manufacturing facility in India. Local production could help lower costs for manufacturers using its engines.

SUV could sit below the Elevate

The new Honda SUV is reportedly being evaluated with an existing Honda platform used in Indonesia. The earlier PF2 platform project, which was expected to support future Honda models including the City and Elevate, has reportedly been dropped.

Honda has not confirmed the platform decision. It has also said that the City and Elevate will continue to be important models for its India business.

The reported price target puts the upcoming SUV in a busy part of the Indian market. It could face rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq.

No information has been confirmed yet about its dimensions, gearbox, power output or equipment.

Honda wants shorter development time

The engine plan is part of a wider change in Honda’s product development strategy for India. The company is looking at greater support from outside engineering and technology partners.

• Tata Technologies is reportedly involved in vehicle design and engineering execution.
• TCS is expected to contribute to the infotainment system.
• Supplier development and testing could happen alongside vehicle development.
• Honda wants greater use of Indian engineering and suppliers.
• The company is targeting a model development cycle of around 30 months, compared with about 49 months earlier.

Honda would continue to set vehicle performance targets and handle final validation, while partners could take on more engineering and supplier-related work.

What Honda has said

Honda Cars India has not confirmed the Horse Powertrain discussions or the compact SUV programme. The company has said that it works with a wide network of technology, engineering and supplier partners and does not comment on specific future programmes.

The company also wants India to play a bigger role in vehicle development and manufacturing. Its future products are expected to make greater use of local engineering capabilities.

If developed as reported, the compact SUV would give Honda a new product in a highly competitive price range while allowing petrol, CNG and hybrid powertrains to be considered from the start.

New Turbo Engine Under Development

Suzuki refers to the new unit as DITC in its technology briefing. It is being developed to bring stronger performance without giving up fuel efficiency.

Suzuki Is Also Working On Hybrids

The turbo engine is only one part of Suzuki’s wider powertrain work. The company is also developing hybrid systems for smaller and compact cars.

Its planned 48V P2 hybrid system is designed for mini cars, with lower emissions, better fuel economy and improved acceleration. Suzuki’s comparison indicates about 15% lower CO2 emissions than its 2022 reference.

For compact cars, Suzuki is preparing a series-hybrid system. The petrol engine generates electricity, while an electric motor drives the wheels. Swift, Dzire and Baleno are useful examples of the type of cars that could suit such technology, although Suzuki has not confirmed applications.

The company is also planning REEV Light, which adds external charging to the series-hybrid setup. A smaller battery could provide electric driving while the petrol engine keeps longer trips practical.

Aiming For Better Engine Efficiency

Suzuki is also studying ways to push internal-combustion engine thermal efficiency from around 40% towards 50%. Research areas include:

• Waste-heat recovery
• Lower-viscosity engine oil
• Lower friction
• Reduced cooling and exhaust heat losses

These technologies are still part of Suzuki’s research work. The company has not confirmed that every measure will be used in the DITC engine.

What This Could Mean For India

Suzuki’s plans cover several types of buyers. Small cars could get simpler hybrid systems, compact models could use series or plug-in technology, while SUVs may get more powerful turbo-petrol engines.

The exact Maruti models, prices and launch timelines are still unknown. From a buyer’s perspective, the interesting part is that Suzuki is developing several powertrain options at the same time rather than relying on one technology. The approach also gives Maruti more room to match different cars with different powertrains, depending on size, usage, cost and driving needs of customers across new future models.

A wider base and new suspension

The most significant upgrades are hidden beneath the skin. The Thar OG transitions to the M_Glyde 4G platform, which delivers increased width and structural rigidity, alongside a revised rear Pentalink suspension setup featuring a Watts Link, DAVINCI dampers, and Frequency Dependent Damping.

These enhancements translate directly to the driving experience. The SUV displays far better high-speed composure and body control than its predecessor. Additionally, the transition to electric power steering is a major upgrade, drastically reducing steering effort in bumper-to-bumper traffic and tight parking spaces.

More power from the engines

Mahindra has also worked on the powertrains.

• 2.0-litre petrol: 162 PS and 330 Nm
• 2.2-litre diesel: 152 PS and 330 Nm
• 1.5-litre diesel: 119 kW and 300 Nm

The petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines get more power, while the smaller diesel keeps its existing output. The 1.5-litre diesel also gets an automatic option.

The lighter chassis, higher stiffness and extra power make the Thar feel quicker and more settled than before.

Small design changes

The shape is still instantly recognisable, but the front now gets a five-slot grille, LED projector headlamps, C-shaped DRLs and new ice-cube fog lamps. The bumpers have also been redesigned.

At the rear, there are new LED tail lamps and a new bumper. New 19-inch alloy wheels add to the look. Artemis Silver and Jeans Blue are also new colour options.

Cabin gets some useful additions

The cabin retains its familiar layout, but the introduction of Truffle Brown leatherette upholstery significantly elevates the interior ambiance. The feature list includes a 26.03 cm touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, rear AC vents, TPMS, and a rearview camera.

Rear-seat passengers also benefit from the addition of a soft central armrest, integrated cupholders, and a Type-C charging port.

However, certain premium features are notably absent. The Thar OG misses out on Level 2 ADAS functionality, a 360-degree camera system, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and electric seat adjustment.

Off-road hardware

The 4WD versions get an electronic locking differential along with Mud, Sand and Snow modes. The SUV also retains 2H, 4H and 4L settings.

Its off-road ability remains a major part of the package. The washable floor with drain plugs and roll cage also add to its practical side.

How does it drive?

The new suspension makes the Thar more comfortable than before. At low speeds, some vertical movement can still be felt. Once the speed rises, the suspension feels more settled over broken roads.

The all-terrain tyres can feel less planted on tarmac, especially over loose surfaces. Road-focused tyres should offer better grip for owners who spend more time on highways.

Price and verdict

The Mahindra Thar OG starts at Rs 10.32 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from October 11, 2026.

The new Thar OG brings useful mechanical changes rather than just cosmetic updates. It is still a rugged three-door SUV, but the easier steering, improved suspension, extra power and new 4WD hardware make it more usable for everyday driving.

Following its initial Indian preview, bookings for the premium SUV are officially underway. Audi has confirmed the model will feature a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with its signature quattro all-wheel-drive system, alongside several segment-first features that will be fully detailed closer to the launch date.

Local production continues

The Q3 is not new to Audi’s local manufacturing plans. The outgoing Q3 and Q3 Sportback have also been assembled at the same facility since 2023. The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant has been producing Audi vehicles since 2007 and is part of the wider Volkswagen Group manufacturing network in India.

The new Q3 will therefore continue with local assembly rather than arriving as a fully imported model.

Piyush Arora, MD and CEO of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said the new Q3 production shows the capabilities of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility. Audi India Brand Director Balbir Singh Dhillon also described the Q3 as an important model for the brand in India.

New Q3 gets a fresh design

The third-generation Q3 has a different look from the previous model. It gets split LED headlamps, a wider grille and a honeycomb-style lower air intake. The front bumper also gets a silver skid plate.

At the rear, the SUV gets connected LED tail lamps and an illuminated Audi logo. A roof spoiler and sculpted bumper add to the new design.

2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine

Audi has confirmed a 2.0-litre petrol engine with quattro all-wheel drive. The global version produces 204hp and 320Nm and uses a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox. These figures are expected for India, although Audi is yet to publish the complete local technical details.

Price and rivals

Audi has not announced the Q3’s price yet. Estimates suggest that the new SUV could cost around ₹55 lakh to ₹60 lakh, ex-showroom. The current Q3 is priced from around ₹43.67 lakh to ₹53 lakh, ex-showroom.

The new Q3 will continue to face rivals such as the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Mini Countryman.

Bookings are already open for a ₹1 lakh token amount through Audi dealerships, the Audi India website and the myAudi Connect app. More information on variants, prices and features will be announced with the October 16 launch.

The new graphics have been created by Centro Stile Ducati along with Drudi Performance. The two have brought racing-inspired colours and details to the Multistrada without taking away its touring character. The Pikes Peak version also gets a few equipment changes and special finishes that set it apart from the regular Multistrada V4.

New look for the Pikes Peak

The motorcycle gets several visual details linked to Ducati’s racing side. Carbon-fibre parts are used in different areas, while the front beak carries a Ducati Corse badge. There is also a low smoked windscreen and gold-anodised finish on the Öhlins fork sliders.

The seat gets a V4 logo and the bike comes with a street-legal titanium Akrapovič silencer as standard equipment.

170hp V4 engine

Power comes from Ducati’s 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine. It produces 170hp at 10,750rpm and 124Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The engine also uses a counter-rotating crankshaft, a technology derived from Ducati’s MotoGP work.

The Pikes Peak gets four Power Modes and five Riding Modes. These are Race, Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet. Race mode has its own rev-limiter strategy, while the Ducati Quick Shift system gets a specific calibration for faster and more aggressive downshifts.

The motorcycle also gets a more direct throttle response in High Power Mode.

Sportier chassis

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak uses an aluminium monocoque frame with a steel-tube subframe. It also gets an aluminium single-sided swingarm.

At the front, there is a 17-inch wheel, while both wheels are five-spoke forged aluminium units. The tyres are Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV units, measuring 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 190/55 ZR17 at the rear.

Suspension duties are handled by Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 event-based semi-active electronic suspension. Wheel travel is rated at 170mm at both ends.

The bike also gets an ergonomic riding position and can be fitted with luggage, giving it some touring ability despite its sportier setup.

More electronic equipment

Ducati has also packed the Pikes Peak with a long list of electronic systems. Bosch-Brembo ABS 10.3ME Cornering is part of the braking package. At the front, the bike uses twin 330mm discs with Brembo Stylema radial calipers, while the rear gets a 280mm disc.

The electronic package includes a Bosch IMU, Ducati Vehicle Observer, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control and Engine Brake Control.

The motorcycle also has radar systems at both ends. These allow features such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection. Forward Collision Warning is also available. Other equipment includes:
