Another fine addition to my collection. I'm really trying to build my fine jewellery hoard and I've already got my eye on the Mini Skull Ring (once it comes back in my size!). Such delicate pieces that are oh so beautiful and intricate; I think I'm getting obsessed.

I've somehow managed to clean out my room again today - that's the third cleanse this month! Loaded up about three garbage bags full and two charity bags. Just look at how neatly I've managed to stash away my shoes (on Instagram! - @sophia_phan).

Can you believe that uni starts again on Monday?! About darn time I say. If you go to UTS (or even if you don't ...), why don't you pick up Issue 1 of Vertigo for 2012 and have a whiz of my column? (It's not that bad, I promise). I'll upload a copy when I manage to get myself to a working scanner ... which may be a while, methinks.

Things that sparkle make me happy. Precious trinkets in the sunlight, diamonds in the sky, vampires ... they're so inanimate yet so full of life and colour. You can imagine my delight when I snapped up these Zara court heels on sale from $159 to $35.95 in my size! (Yes, it's quite a shock considering I have the most common shoe size) The left shoe was a bit hard to squeeze into at the time, but I think that was just due to me spazzing over how ridiculously amazing and affordable they were. Generally I'm much more of a gold girl than a silver girl, but hey, when life hands you $35.95 Zara shoes, you take them! But, enter this delicious new Bloom top coat. With gold micro and chunky glitter, I'm still in a little bit of a daze. It's so pretty! It's like staring into twinkly supernova; a starry midnight. The base coat (Lucy II) is just as gorgeous. I just love how a perfect shade of polish just ties everything else together so nicely. If it weren't for the chemicals, I'd probably glug them all up like liquid gold.

I've finally gotten around to wearing my Seafolly bikini! You may remember my major haul back in September '11 (thanks again, Sunburn!). It's such a playful print that accentuates femininity with its lace and frills. The sun up in Terrigal was somewhat intense - causing a bunch of us to furiously dig our way into the sand to successfully pitch up an umbrella. Thankfully Latopic's cute 'lil cheesecloth dress functioned as both a sun barrier and cute over-dress; I just loved how you could see a pop of colour peek out from underneath the v-neck. This little break has been exactly what I needed - a few quiet days away from the rush of the city with a group of my closest and dearest friends. Many more of these holidays to come ...

I love this dress so much. It's comfy enough to lounge around in, but dressy enough to wear out in public. It's the perfect thing to wear on a beautiful day at Bondi Beach (which I did, obviously). I just didn't know whether I was game enough to go without a cami - I wasn't, but I'm slowly working up to it though. And the glasses, the glasses! I think I'm starting to get a huge problem with sunnies - I pretty much have one for every day for the week, but these have been my regular go-to babies for a while. A classic shape but with a little bit of an edge, totally me.

I'm heading up to the Central Coast tomorrow and I pray, I pray that the weather is kind to us. Three long days in the sun and hanging with friends is exactly what the doctor ordered. Looking forward to waking up on the beach, going crazy til the sun goes down (and rises up again!) and being terrible in the kitchen. I'm bringing a few things to shoot as well so be preparedo!

Happy Valentines Day to all you bonnie lasses and ladies! Whether you're single or attached, I hope you've had the most beautiful day. I have - the weather was spectacular today! Hence my overload of photos on Instagram (follow me - @sophia_phan ;)) and the need to create a photo diary on Tumblr. Though I have depressingly been swamped with about a gazillion press releases about Valentines Day gift ideas, lingerie brands and even gift offers for this special occasion, the day itself isn't so bad. I mean hey, complimentary champagne at lunch is just top notch; enough to make me swallow my silence as school kids skip by with wee little teddy bears and roses.

This is a preview to a post that I will probably do in two days time since my internet's about as sluggish as my brain right now. These shades from Sunglasses Shop are seriously the shiz though - I think I actually need to invest in a sunglass rack to hold the many focals in my life.

I'm starting my internship at Sunday Magazine (part of the Sunday Telegraph/News Limited) tomorrow and am so excited! Have already undergone a large haul at Cue in preparation (of course). I must say that dressing for that environment will quadruple my eagerness to get up tomorrow morning. I really have a thing for corporate/smart casual ... and men in suits.

I remember reading a beauty article once about how luxury beauty items can make a girl feel immensely special. Possibly because you can buy a load at a fraction of what it would cost to buy apparel. I want to hi-5 that person right now. Sure these colours and smells and textures may be replicated by less expensive and more accessible brands, but, to sniff Coco Mademoiselle on my wrists on a rainy day - it just makes me feel about a million and twenty three bucks and oh so special.

I've been lemming Black Pearl for a while now. My mum questioned why I was so desperate to snag myself a bottle, to which I replied "you cannot mimic this". True some may come close, but this is a beauty! It's often been named a favourite by many beauty sites and blogs, so, naturally, I had to have it. I'm still looking at it right now actually ... my precious. I only wish my nails didn't chip so easily - that's what happens when you work in retail.

And the lipsticks, the lipsticks! You probably can't see the colour (unless you've got some sort of x-ray vision and/or a camera in my room, in which case - that's kind of freaky ...), but one's a gorgeous coral-red and the other is sort of a wine red. I adore wearing red above all other lip colours and I am much more of a lippie person than a gloss hoarder - somehow it just reminds me of over-visible drool. No doubt these will be on high rotation from now on.

Yes, I'm obsessed.

If you've been following me on Instagram (@sophia_phan) or have been stalking my Facebook page, you would know that I made a very exciting purchase yesterday! A brand spanking new Prada wallet that, I defend, will stay with me for a very, very long time. It's simple, chic and black so you'll know it'll just go with everything.

I'd always wanted to make a grande luxury purchase and I feel that a wallet is probably the best place to start. We use it almost everyday, it holds a lot of our necessities (drivers license, uni ID, Priceline card ...) and it's easy to grab and go when you're heading down to IGA to buy some Mini Sara Lee Cheesecakes.

I'm already treating it like my baby - bringing it up in conversation whenever possible, shielding it from the rain and feeding it every two hours. Love it so much! Now to continue 'saving' ...

I think this has got to be one of my favourite posts so far. It's the first time I'm wearing my beloved Dion Lee blazer (ahh, I love you so much!), as well as rocking this stunning L'avion scarf designed by the amazingly talented Kelly Smith (check out her online store as well - such gorgeous illustrations!).

I was very honoured to be one of 10 bloggers chosen by L'avion (and you should be too! Check out the last para for more deets...). The brief was to incorporate one of L'avion's new scarves from the Flora & Fauna collection into a personalised look. I did not hesitate at the opportunity to swing a little tailored number with a touch of delicacy, thanks to these delicious Maurie & Eve lace shorts. This would totally be an outfit that I would wear to work every day of every week of every year. Chic, comfortable and cute, I just can't get enough of it. (But of course I would be super paranoid of spilling anything on and/or staining Dion.) The scarf injects a bit of personality into the otherwise clean ensemble with its bursts of colours and patterns, making it super Sydney snazzy.

I've been on this earth for about, say, 19 years, one month, four days, 21 hours and 40 minutes (but hey, who's counting?!) and I think, I think, I've finally defined my personal style. I mean I have always known to steer clear of certain colours (looking at you, pinks) and fabrics (stay away, satin), but I had trouble defining what was 'my look', my style.

Casual? Kind-of. Tailored? Yes. Pretty? Not exactly. When I looked at this lookbook (sorry for the double 'look'), I just thought: this is me. I love this, I adore this! Classic with an edge. I need to quickly fill up my wardrobe with this. Stat.

Secret Squirrel's new Winter '12 Collection, dubbed 'Art Class' is phenomenal (click here for some behind-the-scenes action!). I would actually wear every single piece and I am so excited to see its release in-store. I actually only received this email about two hours ago but felt the need to share said pictures immediately. Immediately!

Whenever I doubt or am confused about my wardrobe or my sense of style, now, I will go back and stare at this lookbook and my faith will be restored and reassured. Minimalism at its best.

I can't wait to go back to uni. Now, now, before you have a bit of a spaz attack, let me explain. I can't wait to go back to uni so I can start to lounge around in outfits like this one. Cute, yet comfy, you can't help but adore Mad Love. You should see the rest of their collection. I think it's love; we seem to understand each other so well.

But really, I do kind of miss learning. (And yes, I am a strange being.) If you haven't heard, I'm thinking about heading down a new career path. Still print journalism (I mean, I hate hearing the sound of my voice), but perhaps more focussed in the news arena. Online would be alright too, I guess - I just want to write and write and write.

I was so happy to get my hands on these Behind the Scenes photographs for Tony Bianco's upcoming A/W '12 campaign. Once again, it stars Bambi Northwood-Blyth (one of my favourite models!), parading in the most gorgeous shoes (which if you remember, I previewed a few months ago. Sneaky sneaky!). Shot by Bec Parsons, styled by Trevor Stone, dolled-up by Michelle Mcquillan (hair) and Kellie Stratten (makeup) and overseen by one of the loveliest men I've ever met, Anthony Bianco, I can't wait to see the campaign in its entirety. Yep, I'm officially three shades darker. Unintentionally too. That's what the tennis does to you. Watching, not playing, that is. I haven't played in yonks. But let me get back to tennis-watching. It's one of my favourite parts of Summer - turning on the television and being able to watch tennis 24/7. It was great to see Gasquet play again this year (yeah, he's kind of good looking ...) but I am, once again, going to be rooting for Federer. Just look at that glossy mane! I just wanna ruffle it.

As for this outfit - looking back on it I've come to a few conclusions.

1) I really need to buy this Zara skirt in more colours. My orange one is already falling apart at the hem and I just need more colours. Need.

2) Recreational is one of the best affordable jewellery labels. Ever. Just look at these fine knot and heart rings (at $39 each!).

3) I need to wear my Pandora bracelet more often. I got it a few years ago and now it's pretty much full. It'd be a waste not to wear it since it is so rich - both economically and emotionally.

Before you say anything, yes I am terrible. I may or may have not purchased all these products in the last fortnight (curse you, 3 for 2 special and staff discount!). But first, let me defend my case. Sukin products are AMAZING.

1) They smell amazing. I liken the smell to orange peel and vanilla - a scent that I just absolutely adore. I can't get enough of it. I have the Hand & Nail Cream on my bedside table (one that I made up of books, mind you) so I can just lather myself in goodness whenever I have the chance.

2) They are amazing to Mother Earth. With the tagline "Skincare that doesn't cost the earth", Sukin Organics is a carbon neutral brand that is committed to reducing the impact its business has on the earth. It uses environmentally friendly, recyclable packaging and marketing materials and, where possible, are printed on recycled paper stock. This is something I greatly admire and applaud. One of the things that I so detest, despise and loathe (I really hate it) is when people mistreat the environment - whether it be littering (this really gets me), smoking, deforestation, etc. Sukin formulations are also grey water safe, so once you wash it down the drain, it's not going to damage our rivers, animals and plant lives.

3) They are amazingly affordable. The items I bought ranged from just $9.95 to $19.95; that's a pretty good steal if you ask me.

4) They are amazing on the skin. I'm pretty picky with skincare products so to find something that is compatible with my skin gets 20 thumbs up from me. Sukin products don't contain sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate, synthetic fragrances, animal derivatives, harsh detergents, propylene glycol, artificial colours, triethanolamine, mineral oils EDTA, PABA or parabens.

5) Sukin is a cool name.

So to whoever created this brand, I fist-bump you.

Zing!

If I had to pick five beauty items to use forever and ever, these would probably be it. Well, for now at least. Perfect products for a groomed, natural look. And another bonus: they don't take long to apply. Gimme about five minutes and I'll be out the door and all buckled up in Marty before you even know it (FYI, Marty is the name of my car ...).

And in saying that, I think I'm beginning a beautiful love affair with Benefit. Three items in (the POREfessional, Watt's Up and Brow Zings) and I'm hooked. But, for now, let me focus on the ingenuity that is Brow Zings.

I remember the first time I got my brows waxed. It was at the Benefit Brow Bar in Paddington (which was fan-flipping-tastic by the way! highly recommended) and I left with the biggest cheesy grin, just raising and lowering my eyebrows as I walked down Oxford Street. Even when I got home, my mother complimented on how my eyebrows finally looked like proper eyebrows and she could now look at me in the face without flinching. It made such a difference.

It was only natural to get their brow kit to maintain this beautiful 'do at home. The only thing was that it costed $55 and whilst I am quite a splurger at times, I am also stingy. Oh, yes. But thankfully I bought it (thank you wise past Sophia) and now we couldn't be happier (myself and the two hairy twins above my eyes).

Benefit's Brow Zings comes with a soft pigmented wax to shape the arch and a complementing powder for filling-in and setting the brows, as well as a pair of mini tweezers, a hard brush for the wax and a round brush for blending. Seriously, the bees knees. Magical. Amazeballs. Brilliant. Zing!

It is so much easier to use than an eyebrow pencil - I can never seem to master that feathering technique. Personally, I don't use the blending brush much, I use the spoolie brush that the very nice Benefit lady gave to me (same as the one at the end of the Benefit Instant Brow Pencil). I find it a lot more effective and I just like the way it wiggles and sounds. Spoolie.

Happy New Year to all you little ducklings.

This time last year I sat down to write a list of goals for 2011 and, now looking back on it, I am so happy to have ticked most of it off - get published (check!), get an internship (got about five - check!), save some money (errr-check!) and write write write (check check!).

One thing I didn't do though was, randomly enough, go to the beach. Yes, for all of 2011 I never once stepped foot onto a beach. How sad is that?

Anyway ... this year I hope to write some more, get published some more and hopefully do some newspaper work (I think that may be my calling, I think). I'm excited to do some travelling and move to the UK for six months (fingers crossed that's still happening) later on in the year and continue meeting such fascinating and brilliant people.

My ever-expanding fragrant family.

Some may say I have a problem, but I disagree. Each smell is reflective of a particular time, memory or occasion (or nothing because I completely made this up). I swear, after working in a perfume store and now working in Priceline and having smelt about 20247239402734023942 perfumes during my internships, I have grown a stronger and fonder appreciation for perfumes.

I actually must applaud myself for putting back two perfumes today, even though they were ridiculously cheap! I mean, $90 for Flowerbomb - silly past Sophia! But as you can see, I probably have enough scents to get me out of showering for a fortnight (almost double what I'm used to!).

And I hate to pick favourites, but out of all these scents I probably use three on a regular rotation. Can you guess which ones? And do you have a favourite fragrance?

Sorry for my lack of postage - I've been lazy, occupied and kidnapped from creativity. But nonetheless thank you for supporting Moulin Frock the past year and have a very Happy New Year! :)

Was wearing a bodycon dress to my birthday dinner at the Bavarian Bier Cafe (fantastic food!) a good idea? Probably not - hello, Food Baby! But darnit, this frock by cylk (really, if you like comfortable basics - checkit) was extremely comfortably and quite a modest length, making getting up and down and moving fro and about about 200x easier. Turning 19 always seemed quite anti-climatic to me ... you're already an adult, and you're still a teenager and you're not really crossing a huge milestone ... but to celebrate the day with the people I love most - well that's an excuse I'd gladly use it for.

Shelley Craft is one of those people you can't help but love. Though the formal part of my interview with her didn't consume that much time, her charisma, passion and down-to-earthness (Is that a word? Bad journalist!) made for a brilliant hour at the gorgeous Westin Sydney (hello creepy elves in the foyer!). Talking fashion, travels, food, career and family, you kind of get the impression that Ms. Craft is very busy, very cultured (she's visited over 300 cities!) and very creative.

Hanger Nation is her newest project. This gorgeous new fashion baby is set to revolutionise the way we explore and shop for our favourite Australian designers. Forget opening 23019361290362 new tabs on your browser - with this handy dandy new app and website, everything is right there for you. Think of it as a digital lookbook of Australian designers that you can share with your friends via Twitter and Facebook and it uses Google Maps to direct you to the nearest stockist. Talk about having things at the palm of your hands!

If you haven't downloaded it yet, I suggest you bust a move to the app store and zip it ASAP. I'll try and get the interview up as soon as possible, but hey, there's about 50 minutes of audio to transcribe and for those who have ever transcribed, you know that's a lot of transcribing.

The Shanti Butterfly dress; YSL Arty ring and ASOS claw ring

It's Summer, so I refuse to wear a jacket. I want to frolic around in dresses for days on end and feel like a Disney Princess (without the giant puffy sleeves and singing animals, of course). This gorgeous frock from The Shanti Butterfly is just so brilliant that I decided to wear it even after my mother and Mother Nature warned me not to (they were right - I was freezing my little derriere off in a matter of minutes, yet somehow managed to convince my friends to go out for some gelato). I mean, how could you resist the pretty watercolour print and pastel colours? Not to mention the light chiffon and free cut (amazing for disguising hot-chip-belly!).

Summer, please come back to me - it's meant to be sunny and it's my birthday next week and I want to wear pretty dresses. So please, give me a break.
