Every September 22, people from around the world get together in the streets, intersections, and neighborhood blocks to remind the world that we don’t have to accept our car-dominated society.

But we do not want just one day of celebration and then a return to “normal” life. When people get out of their cars, they should stay out of their cars. It is up to us, it is up to our cities, and our governments to help create permanent change to benefit pedestrians, cyclists, and other people who do not drive cars.

Let World Carfree Day be a showcase for just how our cities might look like, feel like, and sound like without cars…365 days a year.

As the climate heats up, World Carfree Day is the perfect time to take the heat off the planet, and put it on city planners and politicians to give priority to cycling, walking and public transport, instead of to the automobile.

MECHANICS;
TEAM ROAD RACE

1. Each team will be composed of 7 riders (6 elite and 1 executive), 1 team manager or coach, 1 mechanic and 1 masseur.
2. Every team must represent their respective club duly recognized and affiliated to ICFP. Your team can register at the ICFP c/o Mr. Manding Bautista 09274195490.
3. Every team will allow two (2) professional riders in their line-up
4. Every team will be provided with support team car, uniform or jersey as well as the gasoline for the entire competition.
5. Jersey will be given on September 24, 2010 @ the Filinvest venue (Commerce Ave., Filinvest Corporate City (beside Ayala Alabang Village).
6. The organizer will provide snacks food or merienda. This provision will serve only for all legitimate and official cyclists and their staff, all outsiders and supporters are not covered by this provision.
7. Executive rider of each team must be in a managerial position either businessman, lawyer, engineer, architect, physician, lawyer etc.
8. Registration fee for each team is seven thousand pesos (P7,000)
9. Submission of entries will be via on-line, please log on to www.dzar1026.com.
10. Prizes, technical regulations, official route and other administrative requirements will be discussed during the managers meeting on September 15, 2010.
11. The road race competition will start at 9:00am, September 25, 2010 (Saturday)
12. Prizes are as follows:

1st Prize: Team (100k), Individual (30k)
2nd Prize: Team (70k), Individual (20k)
3rd Prize: Team (50k), Individual (10k)
13. Awarding of prizes will be given on Sunday at 4:00 pm during the closing ceremonies.

It is a brand new course which is made on the same lot as the Sabak Track. It has a few bends incorporated into it from the old Sabak track. One very notable difference is that the track is wide enough for 2 bikes side by side, which will insure ample space for passing.

Aug 14 events will start at 2pm

And will feature both medal and money rounds with age cats in both rounds

Pre registration fee is Php500 available at participating bikeshops and will end on wed Aug 11.

Onsite registration will be the whole day Friday, Aug 13 and up to 2pm Saturday, Aug 14.  On site registration fee is Php700.

There will be no on site registration on Sunday, Aug 15.

RACE ROUTE: Daang Hari> Molino Drive > Paliparan Road > Governor’s Drive > Amadeo Road

DESCRIPTION: The 7-eleven tour 500 is intended both for those who want to complete their first 60km ride in a safe, supportive environment, and for those who wish to test themselves in competition. It is a 60km timed fun ride. The first 37 km is a paced fun ride thru Daang Hari, Molino Drive, Paliparan Road and Governor’s Drive. Motorcycled marshals will set a 15-20 kph pace and shepherd the peloton thru intersections. The race begins via rolling start at the marshals signal after the peloton turns into Amadeo road, and continues for 23 km with an average grade of 2.5%, finishing at the Tagaytay International Convention Center. Lunch and distribution of finisher shirts and certificates follows; race numbers are needed to claim these. After awarding, riders can choose to join the marshaled ride back to Alabang, or catch a ride back on a truck (P100, reservation required).

The Firefly Brigade 3rd Sunday Critical Mass Rides (CMR) aim to help create awareness for bicyclist’s rights on the road. Firefly organizes the CMRs to create bicyclist presence on the road so that motorists recognize us as part of traffic.

Bicycling is a form of non-motorized transportation (NMT) and is a great tool to combat climate change and promote environmental awareness.

The monthly CMRs are usually free of charge and are great venues for meeting other bike commuters, recreational riders and those just starting to ride the streets of the Metro.

It was last seen at Metropolitan Ave., July 5 20:30. I was parked at Tapas’ side across Office Warehouse near Grantrail Cycles . I do bible and feeding program there for the homeless kids . We were distributing the shoes and the clothes.

I actually saw two feet and under the car, i just thought it was the kids dressing up or something. The guard across thought he (thief) owns the car (my Car) I was sitting down consoling a friend, then i just saw my bike spin away, I shouted “hey my bike!” It was so fast, i was shocked .

I’m trying to cheer up , but what hurts me the most i think and i can bet the kids knew this guy who stole my bike and there protecting him after all i have spent with them looking for sponsors for food and saving the kids life. This is why medyo masakit sa akin.
