Wednesday Night Live concert series wraps up stellar 29th season

Wednesday Night Live recently wrapped up its 29th season. The free concert series, held at Grundahl Park, kicked off July 8 with the reggae rock group, TUGG and concluded with Bigtooth on August 19.

Board of education gets update on district renovation projects

The Board of Education had its first meeting of the 2026-2027 school year August 17. The board met for its bi-weekly regular meeting August 17, where it received updates on district construction projects and approved its agenda and minutes for its August 3 regular and closed session board meetings, personnel transactions and consent agenda.

Grundahl Park could get new village building

The Plan Commission met on Wednesday, August 26, with all members present, except Sarah Best. Gabe Altenbernd, Village Administrator and Sonja Kruesel, Village Planner, were also in attendance.

Mounds View Mountaineers show 4-H projects at the Dane County Fair

Members of the Mounds View Mountaineers 4-H Club showed their projects at the Dane County Fair July 16-19, 2026. Many of our 4-Hers volunteered extra time to watch over exhibits in the Small Animal Area. The Beef exhibitors received a Blue Ribbon for Herdsmanship.

In her home in Mount Horeb, Kriste Hubbard keeps homecoming and special event dresses she’s collected with her friend Rodi Stroia to give away to people in the community for free.

Hubbard and Stroia are best friends, and this spring they were sewing together and talking about prom.

Next generation of leaders gathers for Badger Boys & Girls

As most students were starting their summer break, 20 up-and-coming Mount Horeb seniors attended Badger Boys and Girls State June 13-19 and June 21-26 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, respectively.
