Am I the only one who believes Nelly was not only attracted to Cathy in this adaptation but took Cathy’s comments as a vile personal rejection, cementing Nelly as an actual villain in this adaptation? Sure, Cathy and Heathcliff’s actions brought doom down upon their naughty selves, but Nelly was instrumental in exploiting every opportunity from her position of trust to ensure maximum detriment.
