Ah, good catch, Kratos.

I wish I could blame the writers except for Michael Bay's known reputation for asking on set "Hey, what if we do it like THIS? Wouldn't that be COOL?" Sadly, audiences agree with him, even if the story suffers directly as a result.

Want an example of great story enhanced by over-the-top action sequences and special effects? Check out Timur Bekmambetov's Wanted, as well as his body of Russian film work including Night Watch, Day Watch, and the upcoming Twilight Watch.

This was explained in the first movie.

At the hoover dam Agent Simmons says:

“Fact is, you’re looking at the source of the modern age. The microchip, lasers, cars, space flight: all reverse-engineered by studying him. NBE-1…”

Everything is made using Megatron’s techology, so everything has “a bit of Megatron” inside.

That still doesn't explain why the TF's in ROFT turn bad since it was a shard of the Allspark that brought them to life NOT Megatron. Why does the Allspark - a device that creates life automatically turn them evil? If it does, why is it so easy to choose to switch sides like Wheelie and Jetfire did? This movie's storytelling sucks so bad, you'd think a horny teenage boy wrote it.

But even with what they DIDN'T get to, the film was STILL over two and a half hours long. As much as I would have enjoyed seeing a miniseries or seven seasons of television that encompassed every whim of the author, it simply isn't done... well, not yet.

I'm sorry to say, but I was disappointed in this movie. The book was tense and riveting. This movie failed to bring it to the screen and it glossed over many of the books plot drivers. I'm not sure how they can even hope to get the Deathly Hallows to meet reqired plot points when so much of this movie ignores or skates over some important bits of action.

SPOILER!

Warning: do NOT read the following comment if you have not seen the movie, did not read the book, and are the last person on earth who doesn't know how this movie ends!

Did anyone else think that Dumbledore falling to his death eerily resembled Alan "Snape" Rickman's own slow-motion plummet at the end of the original "Die Hard?" Just saying. (suggested by @thejohnblog on Twitter).

End Spoiler!

So the parody gets a feature film but the suit haven't remade the original as a film yet? This MUST be a first!

I would argue that pretty much any non-Pixar CGI movie is unnecessary. The only nice thing I can say about Ice Age is, at least it isn't one of those crude, mean-spirited Dreamworks pieces of crap.
