It’s not exactly the untold story but the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man that’s being viewed by Spidey fans across the pond does offer a few new scenes that we haven’t seen before. The new footage doesn’t really offer any startling revelations, although I thought it was interesting to see Peter tell Gwen that he’s about to throw her out a window… and then he actually does it. I can’t wait to see this on the big screen so I can find out what leads up to this moment.

A few names are being considered for the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but Robert Pattinson isn’t one of them.

My heart almost stopped when rumors started flying around about Pattinson landing the role of Odair, and it turns out that even RPattz himself was curious to find out if he landed a role in another huge YA franchise.

“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games,” Pattinson told USA Today. “I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent.”

The agent had news that probably excited many people, while breaking the hearts of others.

“(My agent) was like no one’s going to offer you that part,” Pattinson reveals with a laugh. “I was like, thanks for the reassurance.”

While the Twilight heartthrob isn’t in the running for the part of Finnick, Daniel Newman, Zac Efron, Jesse Williams and Chace Crawford are names that have been mentioned but none of them have been confirmed.

Personally, I’m just glad it’s been confirmed that Pattinson isn’t up for the role. No offense to the man but how many box office juggernauts does one person need to be in?

The cast of the Carrie reboot continues to grow, with one definite addition, one maybe, and one that came close.

I’ve been excited about the new Carrie ever since I learned Chloe Moretz had snagged the title role, and Julianne Moore will do a great job as the crazy mom, in my opinion. Now, the casting machine is working on filling in a few more spots, with Gabriella Wilde landing the role of Sue. There’s no word on if the characters in the remake will be the same as they were in the 1976 adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, but if things remain the same, Sue (originally played by Amy Irving) will be one of the bullies that harasses Carrie, but who also feels remorse over those actions.

Judy Greer, who has appeared on the small screen in shows like Two and a Half Men and Californication, is in negotiations for the part of the gym teacher. Ivana Baquero (Pan’s Labyrinth) was in talks for the role of Chris, one of the more evil bullies of the film, but she’s no longer being considered for the part.

Carrie, which also stars Ansel Elgort and Alex Russell, is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 15, 2013.

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are looking cute and cuddly, even when they’re swinging through the air in an image that captures the duo before the movie magic is created for The Amazing Spider-Man.

It’s all about the romance in these latest images from Entertainment Weekly, although there is one photo of Spidey striking a cool pose by himself. I guess that’s when Emma chose  to cuddle with a Spider-Man that wouldn’t be too busy webbing up bad guys. There’s even an image for the behind-the-scenes fans as we get a great look at the film crew doing their thing with Garfield and Stone in a harness as they web-swing through New York. It seems like an odd time to have a meaningful conversation but there’s some talking apparently going on since one crew member has a mic lifted up in their general direction.

The Amazing Spider-Man, which also stars Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen and Sally Field, hits theaters on July 3.

The eyes have it in these new character posters for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 that feature Edward, Bella, and Jacob.

The big drama in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 revolves around Bella’s transformation into a vampire so it’s no surprise that the focal point for these character posters is the eyes, providing a good excuse for fans to get a good look at Bella’s new eye color.

The posters feature each member of the main trio looking solemn (does anyone ever look anything else in the Twilight films?) with the word ‘Forever’ off to the side. I kind of feel sorry for poor Jacob Black since he’s saddled with nothing but boring brown eyes, although there’s a little something there that doesn’t appear in either Edward’s or Bella’s eye. Could it be a peek at the wolf within?

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 arrives in theaters on November 16.

Never have I hoped so strongly that a casting rumor is complete and total B.S. It looks like there might be a chance of The Twilight Saga’s Robert Pattinson showing up in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

At the age of 14, Finnick Odair won the 65th annual Hunger Games for District 4, and he’s back in Catching Fire, now in his mid-twenties, to take part in the Third Quarter Quell, a competition for those that didn’t get killed the first time around. Rumor has it that Finnick might be portrayed by Robert Pattinson so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before the Internet explodes with all the love/hate flame wars that will soon be erupting all over the place.

Personally, I’d love to dismiss the rumor because the info comes from an unnamed source but I actually see where this franchise cross-over could happen. Francis Lawrence stepped up to the director’s chair after Gary Ross vacated it, and Lawrence worked with Pattinson on Water For Elephants. Also, after taking time for more serious roles in Elephants and Cosmopolis, Pattinson might be yearning for those days when the teen audience was going crazy for him. Sure, Twilight fever is still burning for many since The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 awaits on the horizon but that’s the last stop for that particular gravy train. Is taking part in another YA franchise such an impossible idea? I really hope so because this kind of blending cannot be a good thing. I’m sure some will love the possibility, but just as many will hate it.

In the ‘barely news’ department, Lionsgate announced earlier today that the sequel to The Hunger Games would be called The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Are you shocked at this mind-numbing development?

Sometimes I wonder exactly what Hollywood thinks of the people that spend their hard-earned money to watch the big screen illusions that are created in Tinsel Town. Is there a Hunger Games fan out there that doesn’t know the second title in the Suzanne Collins trilogy is Catching Fire? I guess it really shouldn’t be a shock, considering that every single Twilight movie has The Twilight Saga tacked onto the front of it.

Even though the studio seems to be insulting my intelligence with their need to spell everything out, I’m still excited about this film. It will be interesting to see if Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland all make the return trip, although switching someone would be a move that borders on insanity at this point. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it, and The Hunger Games obviously doesn’t need fixing if box office totals are any indication.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is expected to arrive in theaters on November 22nd, 2013.

The new red-band trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is out, showing that Honest Abe spilled a good amount of blood in his war against vampires.

There’s actually interaction and conversation between characters in the latest peek at the film that features one of our most-recognized presidents as a vampire hunter, and there’s also a lot of blood flying, which was kind of surprising to me. I thought the film might go for a PG-13 rating but it looks like Fox might get an R on this one, which wouldn’t really be a bad thing. It’s been too long since vampires have gotten messy on the big screen so a few bloodbaths would be a nice change of pace.

The trailer offers plenty of action and some excellent new scenes, although I’m curious about the part that shows Abe dressed all in white. What’s up with that?

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, starring Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Rufus Sewell, Anthony Mackie, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, still doesn’t have a release date but it can’t get here soon enough, in my opinion.

The remake of Robocop has now added a second actor to the story about a murdered cop brought back as a cyborg.

With Christopher Nolan’s Batman films winding down, Gary Oldman’s days as James Gordon are numbered, so it’s nice to see him already lined up for a film that could possibly lead to another franchise. Hey! It happened with the first Robocop so it could happen with this one, especially since Hollywood is sequel-happy these days.

Joel Kinnaman snagged the role of Robocop, originally played by Peter Weller in the first film, and Gary Oldman will portray Norton, the scientist responsible for the fallen officer’s reconstruction, who “finds himself torn between the ideals of the machine trying to rediscover its humanity and the callous needs of a corporation.” In the original film, that role was played by – well, nobody, so it’s nice to know that a little depth might be added to Robocop this time around. Not that I’m against a plot that revolves solely around a mechanical man going around acting tough and blowing up things.

The production is looking at a September shoot in Toronto and has a tentative release date of summer 2013.
