It’s free, it’s web-based so you can access it from anywhere, there are tons of applications that work with it, it (usually) blocks spam like a champ and it holds a boatload of archived email. What’s not to love?  We highly recommend Gmail as an email service and if you can get the name you want, it’s a good companion account for bloggers, if for example, you’d like to keep your “real life” email anonymous.

But what if you want to present a more polished web presence? What if you’re using your website or your blog for business? Just popping in to let anyone working with Joelle currently know that they will have to take a seat while we taxi the gate.  Poor Joelle has come down with some kind of nasty flu (we don’t want to say H1N1 because she has no clue if that’s it) but she’s riding the couch under Dr. Kathy’s orders until further notice.  She values your business and she hates being behind, but in this case her health is just not up to even sitting in an upright position.  So if you would be so kind as to exercise your patience and bear with her while she rests and gets well.   • 2 1/5 oz Remy Martin V.S.O.P
  • 2 oz pear juice
  • Ice
  • 1/4 oz Cointreau (optional)
  • Garnish: Pear Slice

Simply add pear juice to Cognac. Shake both ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a pear slice or float pear strings on top. Add Cointreau for sweeter result.

We’ve done a lot of awesome sites so far this year and I’m very proud of the designs we’ve done, so keep your eyes peeled for those!  We’re also going to be rolling out a new design for our site with a lot of new features in the coming months, hoping for an official launch by our 7th anniversary (yes, seventh!) on Valentine’s Day ‘10.  It could be earlier, but it’s looking like it’ll be a very busy Fall and Kathy’s still successfully working on her second degree as a professional baby juggler.

  • 1 oz. pineapple rum
  • Champagne
  • 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
  • Dash of grenadine syrup
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • strawberry slice for garnish

Shake rum, Grand Marnier, pineapple juice and grenadine with ice. Strain into a champagne glass and fill up with champagne. Garnish with a strawberry slice on the rim.

We’re usually vodka girls here at Moxie Design Studios—that’s pretty common knowledge, but in the Summertime, rum can make for a tasty cocktail.  Yesterday was National Rum Day, so we thought we’d share a recipe since we haven’t in a while.  This one I chose especially for Kathy, who is at home breastfeeding and dreaming of the day she can have an adult beverage.

7 lbs. 9 oz. (I think her other son, Reilly, was also that same weight, but I might be mistaken) and 19.5 inches long… yay!

Yay, Baby 2.0 has a name now. cheese  I assume mama is doing fine. I’ll anticipate a relatively slurred phone call in a few hours.  Congratulations, Kathy and Steve!

Yes, Official even!  I don’t know why it’s official it just sounded better.  I’ll be delivering on Monday via c-section and will probably be out of touch for a week or two while I heal and get a grip on our new family member.  I will be checking email periodically through my leave so if any emergencies* arise I will route them to the appropriate avenues.  Auntie Joelle, bless her heart is holding up the Moxie Fort while I tend to the new baby.  However, she has a very busy schedule so please, if you are a client of mine, email me first and I will make sure your problem gets handled appropriately.  … read more »
