20 Years of YouTube

2026-04-01T01:57:00.002-05:00

Today is 20 years of me uploading to YouTube. October 2025 was 20 years since I first discovered that website. I have seen this site go through many ups and downs in that time. Many decisions they made in that time have been very bad for the site. Many different channel layout changes. Some good, but most functioned and looked extremely bad. I have had many channels through the years, many were terminated because of copyright strikes and community guidelines violations (only one was terminated because of community guidelines violations October 7, 2023). I had many different channel names. The first channel name I ever had was kardallastx https://web.archive.org/web/20070929104732/https://www.youtube.com/user/kardallastx from April 1, 2006-October 2007. Videos I uploaded during the early years of me using YouTube were mainly videos I edited for fun using movie and TV footage with music from April 1, 2006-July 2009. My first video I ever uploaded showing myself was in 2007. I began uploading videos showing myself a lot of the time in July 2009 mainly because of a feud I started on YouTube with another user named Efree (his channels were serria12, and sierra12isheretostay). I regret starting that problem because I had to deal with that along with another feud for over a year. I remember I almost wanted to quit YouTube during that year and a half. I am glad that I decided to stay with it. January 2011 is when it finally got better for me and those problems stopped. I had a strange problem that I began dealing with in 2010 with a hacker and stalker called Mrwonderfulkenny (also called TheOriginalHelpDude) who caused a lot of trouble for me by bothering others that already did not like me, and harassed them, making them think it was me doing that. That weird and frustrating problem finally stopped in April 2011. After all that ended, it finally got better for me with YouTube, and I enjoyed uploading and using the site again. I still have had channels be terminated or me closing them most recently to 2024. I have enjoyed using YouTube even through the issues and problems I have dealt with. These are playlists of videos explaining the feuds and problems I dealt with for over a year from July 2009-April 2011 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTIAZIRjx4zGNo4vc_7JaibAn--dxo4Nj https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTIAZIRjx4zEQwOVmKEkAb4pn1XwpeZ-0 and https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTIAZIRjx4zH1Gb_YYeoaAwmqpK9PUYzD I want to appreciate and thank everyone who has viewed and watched my channels and videos through the years. I adore and cherish all of you. I think of all of you as friends to me. This Year is 20 Years for Me Being a YouTuber

2026-01-06T11:45:00.002-06:00

This year is 20 years that I have uploaded to YouTube. It has been a great experience uploading and using this site. I have been through and seen this site go through many changes, some good, and some bad. I have had many channels of mine suspended or I closed channels of mine. I remember it took me five years to think of a good channel name. Thank you everyone for your support through the years. I am excited and look forward to the possibilities for this channel in the years to come. This is an archive to my first YouTube channel I ever had, https://web.archive.org/web/20070929104732/https://www.youtube.com/user/kardallastx My YouTube channels that I currently use are https://www.youtube.com/@MrKARproductions3 https://www.youtube.com/@cooloptimusprime https://youtube.com/@mrblacksmoviereviewsClassics https://www.youtube.com/@therealweeklynews4 and https://www.youtube.com/@NightmareOnThe13th1

This Month is 20 Years Since I First Discovered YouTube

2025-10-01T00:06:00.002-05:00

This month, I am not sure what day, is 20 years since I first discovered YouTube. I remember when my mom Susan first told me about YouTube. I was 24 at the time. The first video I ever saw was a Starscream animation video (which I did actually find again a few years ago. I downloaded a copy of that video). I remember I had been looking and trying to figure out where I could upload my videos for a long time. I did use a video hosting website called LiveDigital (no one seems to remember LiveDigital now). That is where I had the documentary The Great Whimsical Sherlockian Tour of Oklahoma and Texas uploaded for over a year in 2006. YouTube was very simple at the time, and it was a lot easier to use, in my opinion. I remember watching YouTube for a few months, getting used to how people upload to it and how it works. I remember I loved the user interface of YouTube at the time. YouTube did not have the feature of embedding yet. I am grateful to have discovered YouTube at the time.

Two Years to Get Advanced Features

2025-09-21T03:05:00.004-05:00

After two years of trying, my main YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@MrKARproductions3 finally has Advanced Features enabled. I think it will stay this time. My other three YouTube channels were eligible for Advanced Features a few months ago, and I have had those features enabled for all three of those channels for a while before my main channel got the features enabled: https://www.youtube.com/@cooloptimusprime https://www.youtube.com/@mrblacksmoviereviewsClassics, https://www.youtube.com/@therealweeklynews4, and https://www.youtube.com/@NightmareOnThe13th1.

Migraines During 8th Grade Middle School Year

2025-09-10T06:38:00.006-05:00

I never said anything before. Hardly anyone knows this outside my family (mainly my mom Susan, my dad Tim, and my older brother Bryan), and students, teachers, and mental health professionals who knew me at that time. I remember having migraines frequently during my 8th grade year of middle at WH Gaston Middle School during 1995-1996. I know part of that was an after effect of my medication allergic reaction February 1995. I remember those would happen at any moment and any time, out of nowhere. I would never know when it would happen. I remember the feeling when a migraine would first start, I would feel a slight throbbing, and then a migraine would kick in shortly after. I remember we tried different things, and what I ended up doing was calm my mind. Doing that became the best way for my migraines to stop. The rest of my 8th grade year went very well once that went away.

This Month is 20 Years Since I Have Been an iMac and Apple User

2025-09-01T12:33:00.004-05:00

This month, I am not sure what day, is 20 years that I have been an iMac user and Apple user primarily since the PC I had did not work good earlier in 2005. Being an iMac user has been a fantastic experience. I have used three different iMac desktop computers, my first iMac September 2005-May 25, 2011, an iMac G5 (which I still have very fond memories of using), my second iMac, a 2011 iMac October 29, 2011-February 22, 2019 (I did a lot with this iMac, and worked very well for me), and now my third, and current iMac, a 2017 iMac February 24, 2019-present (this has been a wonderful iMac to use. I have learned different methods and ways of using computers with iMac than I ever have before. I have been backing up my data with external hard drives for the first time ever with this iMac). I had already learned how to using Mac computers during college in 2000-2002, but I had not used a Macintosh computer at home in a long time. I was 24 when I began being a Mac user away from college. I have not looked back, and I am glad that I transitioned to Mac back then, three years after graduating college at The Art Institute of Dallas. Using Mac made me get my passion and skill of video editing back again (meaning capturing video into the computer, and editing that. I remember I edited a Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban music video trailer with Adobe After Effects back in May 6, 2004, but that was with trailers I downloaded, not DVD footage yet). I had been out of it for a while since 2002. Using iMac helped me get the knack for it again, I missed it, and I have not looked back since. I am very glad to have began being an Apple user when Steve Jobs was still alive. Using Apple (and more affectionately, Macintosh computers) has changed my life in many ways, and I am glad that it has been a part of my life for so many years.

This Month is 30 Years Since My Allergic Reaction

2025-02-01T23:31:00.006-06:00

This month, I am not sure what day, is 30 years since I had a major allergic reaction to 10-15 different medication I was taking at the time for my disability. It turned out it was mainly one, Navane, that caused the allergic reaction. I remember my jaw locked to the right for half the day. I was in 7th grade middle school with my dad in the lunchroom when it happened. I remember my jaw slowly moved back and forth from the center to the right several times until it stuck. My dad rushed me back home (we lived at Buckner Baptist Children's Home at the time, now Buckner Orphan's Home), and got mom, and we hurried to the hospital. I remember getting a shot of Benadryl and was put into a hospital bed quickly. I took off most of my clothes because my body was incredibly hot. It took a long time for me to fall asleep. Once I did, and then woke up, other family members were there with me. I was 13, and all that medication and allergic reaction could have killed me. I really feel like I got a second chance at life after that. I feel like I did die for a little bit, and then I was revived. After that allergic reaction, I was taken off prescribed medication for my disability permanently. Ever since I have been off medication like that, I think my mind became clearer and I was able to finally think for myself. I became my own person with my own feelings and thoughts after after so many years. The rest of middle school for me was fantastic. Then high school became better. 5th grade of elementary school was the first time when I had a teacher who believed in me and always tried to keep the kids from doing anything. He was a fantastic teacher. I remember also being put in a seclusion closet during my early years of school, probably before elementary school. I feel the kids beating me up, bullying me and the stress of that and mental health professionals not knowing what to do with me compounded to make that allergic reaction happen. My childhood dealing with mental health professionals and kids beating me up, bullying me and making fun of me was like a real life Escape from New York for me. I am so glad that I had my parents Susan, my dad Tim, and my older brother Bryan (53 right now) to help and support me during those stressful, troubling, and trying times for me. I love, adore, and cherish all of you. Amanda has also been great for our family, and I am glad that we helped her get through troubling times in her life too. Thank you for being in this family.
