Bill joins us from the Coldwell Banker office.  Not only does Bill have a decade of selling Orange County real estate behind him, he has an intimate knowledge of living and working in our community.  He’s been actively involved in youth sports and has been a long time resident of Lake Forest.

He joined M Realty because, “with the industry changing, I wanted a brokerage company that understands the technology opportunities to not only help sell homes but how to best help my buyers find the perfect home for them”.

In talking to my friend at YourLocalTech.com, Loren Nason, we really became interested in finding ways to continue the conversation with those in the local real estate market.   We decided to create a local Mastermind environment, a place to collaborate with others in the industry that would like to learn more, share ideas with like-minded individuals, and connect with those interested in elevating their real estate practice to better serve their clients, and potential clients, utilizing technology and social media.

Real Estate Download is the result of that conversation.  Our first meeting takes place tomorrow at 9:00am at the Panera Bread in Aliso Viejo. They have free wifi and we’ll meet out at the front tables.  The address is 26541 Aliso Creek Road.

Anyone interested, is welcome to join.  The initial meeting will likely be small so that we can share some ideas about the direction of the group.  Please feel free to join the Meetup site to be notified of future meetings.  If you know of others that might be interested, I’d encourage you to pass the word on.

One of the wonderful things about the SMMOC meetings is the ability for attendees to bring in topics that they would like to discuss as they relate to social media.  The never-ending changes in the Facebook user interface was one of those subjects that came up.

Jeff certainly has some things to add to the “changing rules of engagement” conversation.  But one of his insights is particularly relevant for the real estate community.  Building an online presence has become a critical part of the long term success for an agent and building that presence in an environment that consistently changes their rules is certainly risky business.

Pulver states, “I think you’re better off being in an environment where you control everything, where you don’t have to worry about user interface changes, where ultimately it’s your designs that matter.”
