Choose one of the following activities. Due by March 20th at the latest. I will accept them earlier. You may work with one other person.

• Before the iTunes Music Store, how did people typically purchase and share music? Ask your parents and grandparents how they listened to and shared music. Create a timeline, organizer, powerpoint, collage, or write a short essay.

• After the Internet made file sharing possible, people began exchanging music without paying for it. Sites like Napster made this easier. To deter this, the recording industry filed lawsuits and even went after college students downloading music in their dorm rooms. Use the Internet to research digital downloads prior to the iTunes Music Store. Do people still download music illegally? Is it easy to do? Do you think it is wrong to copy music? Why or why not? Who is harmed in the process? Write an essay on why or why not you think it is acceptable to share music files online.
