Expressions of Love: 1 Malaysia, Generates Transformation

In conjunction of Merdeka Day 2010, MSAJ will be organizing a Media Competition with the theme, “Expressions of Love: 1 Malaysia, Generates Transformation”.

Objectives
To show expression of love while introducing Malaysia to the outer world by using suitable media.

Rules and Regulations.
1. The entries can be only in either one of such forms below:
a) Microsoft Power Point (max 10 slides)
b) Microsoft Word (max 10 pages)
c) PDF (max 10 pages)
d) Video (max 5 mins)
e) Original taken digital photos (max 1 piece)

2. Entries opened ONLY to Malaysian students studying in Japan.

3. Entries must be ORIGINAL and only personal entries are allowed, limited to ONE entry per person.

4. Entries must be ONLY in Bahasa Malaysia or English.

5. Entries have to be sent to presiden_kanto@msaj.net by 30 September 2010 2359hrs. Please include your name, university/college/institution, course, email address and phone number. Entries without information will be disqualified.

6. Entries will not be returned and MSAJ is allowed to post the entries on MSAJ’s homepage.

Prizes
First prize: JPY 30,000 X 1 and participation certificate
Second prize: JPY 20,000 X 1 and participation certificate
Third prize: JPY10,000 X 1 and participation certificate
Consolation prizes: JPY 8,000 X3 and participation certificates

Judges
The judges for the contest will be announced soon.

Ramadhan Greetings 2010

Greetings to all Muslim friends, brothers and sisters,

On behalf of Malaysian Students’ Association in Japan (MSAJ), we would like to wish everyone Happy Fasting in this holy month of Ramadhan. May everyone be blessed with good health and patience.

I also would like to take this opportunity as well, to update the development of MSAJ as a student association representing Malaysian students in Japan.

A few changes were done since previous years. Among the major changes were:
1. The Amendment of MSAJ’s Constitution.
2. MSAJ Pusat is named MSAJ Kanto
3. SIX Bureaus were created; Registration, Web System Crew, Welfare & Communication, Culture & Social, Sports & Recreation, Academic & Career.

For the first half of Term 2010, MSAJ especially MSAJ Kanto has organized the annual events, starting from Photography Workshop, Hanami, Career Fair, ASEAN Festival and lately the Mount Fuji Climb. Also, we from the EXCOs are working out the Development of Bureaus in MSAJ, as a part of our objectives in uniting Malaysian Students in Japan.

However, the main objective of uniting students are still very far to be achieved and here, we would like to rearrange some policies and at the same time inviting EACH and EVERY single Malaysian students to be PROACTIVELY involved in students/youth association.

Below will be the targets of MSAJ starting with MSAJ Kanto for later term of 2010:

OBJECTIVE
To increase participation of students in students/youth development, through participation in Bureaus of MSAJ.

Presidency:
To start a beta version of Alumni MSAJ.

Registration:
To create a better Database of Malaysian students in Japan.

Web System Crew:
To maintain and to improve systems of MSAJ through FOUR UNITS.
1) Technical: To maintain and improve the systems in MSAJ.
2) Writers: To have writers for MSAJ. Notices and updates on Homepage, mailing list, Facebook and Twitter.
3) Media Factory: To have media creators. Posters, visuals etc.
4) Advertisement: To improve advertising in MSAJ.

Welfare:
1) Private Students Unit: To increase participation of Private Students especially welfare of students.
2) Welfare Unit: To increase welfare of students especially in spiritual and motivational aspects.

Communication:
To increasing networking of MSAJ.
* network of MSAJ is to be classified.

Culture:
To increase development of Malaysian cultures especially the main cultures of Malaysian Malay, Chinese, Indian and others. Also to increase introduction of Malaysian cultures to society.

Social:
To increase cultural exchanges among Malaysians and other countries through TWO channels;
1) AYNJ Channel: to increase cultural exchanges with youth of ASEAN countries.
2) Japan Channel: to increase cultural exchanges with youth of Japan.

Sports:
To increase development of sports especially football, table tennis, basketball, bowling and martial art (budo) etc.

Recreation:
To increase development of recreation of students. The main theme will be announced soon.

Academic:
To increase development in academic area through FIVE UNITS:
1) College
2) University 1 (undergraduate)
3) University 2 (post graduate)
4) Science (Engineering)
5) Social Science (Management, Business etc)

Career:
To improve career development through TWO Units
1) Shin-gaku
2) Job hunting

Each Bureaus will be developed and RECRUITMENT too will be done from time to fit the needs in achieving the objectives of each Bureau.

Again, we hope this Ramadhan and this summer holiday will be a good memory for everyone and looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Mt Fuji Climb: I come, I see, I conqeur!

Anyone interested to climb Mount Fuji this summer holidays!

Date: 7th of August 2010

Starting point: 富士山　河口湖口登山道（かわぐちこぐちとうさんみち）

Assemble time and place：1900hrs at 河口湖駅

(Sit bus together to　五合目　from this station. 3 buses in 1 hour. About 30 minutes travel. Cost 600~700￥)

We will subsidized ￥1500 per person for the FIRST 30 people who registered to us.

(the budget will only allowed for food, drinks, oxygen tank and tongkat)
