I love styling and photography...its like therapy for me. I'm by no means a professional and I'm always trying to get better at it. So what better way to do that then by actually doing it?

I edited these photos using iPhoto and an app called camera. I initially was trying to do it on instagram however, I didn't like it. Anywhooo, I hope you guys enjoy the pics and don't mind how bright they are.

Koo Koo Over Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

I recently came across a makeup line called OCC...Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Let me just say I am sooooo obsessing over them right now. I ordered 6 of their lip tars and I'm so happy and impressed. They get an A++ from me in pigmentation, texture, and price. In the photos you will see that when it comes to color you get EXACTLY what you see...I didn't have to add several coats, primer, or other products to make the colors pop. It's reasonably priced at $13.00 and trust me...a little bit goes an extremely long way. I'm super happy to report that it is NOT sticky!!!! (Yay) Its actually very moisturizing and gives your lips a cool minty feeling. Their products are also vegan and cruelty free :-) If you want to check them out for yourself click HERE.

If you decide to purchase these items I suggest using a lip liner so that it doesn't feather and apply it using a lip brush.

Also, I just want you guys to know that I bought these out of curiosity with my own money at full price and that my review honest. ;-)

Glam Room...Sneak Peak

Everyday is a Blessing

So I recently celebrated my "born day" and OMG I had soooo much fun. First, my co-workers threw a surprise mini party for me complete with pizza and Hello Kitty cupcakes served with red cup sodas lol. They almost saw me cry however, I'm just way too gangster for that. lol. Then my family came up to Atlanta to surprise me (my hubby was is in on the surprise...punk! lol) and we just had an awesome time together laughing, eating, and just being around one another. Of course my mom and I had to break away for a little bit and get to all the good yard sales and do some thrifting. ((Yall, she is my secret weapon at yard sales...she can talk anyone down to lowering their price lol).) Since some of the thrift stores are in the "hood" my baby brother came along as our bodyguard lol. While we were out my dad, hubby, and brother fixed my closet unit in The Glam Room...I love the men in my family. My family and I are sooo close and we always have such a good time...I just love when we get together. I thank God that I was able to celebrate another birthday filled with so much love...all of us healthy and happy. ((I love you guys!!!))

I ask that everyone remember that everyday that we wake up is a gift from God. As each day passes and we get older we should look at it as a blessing rather than just "getting old" and complaining. It is sad that some of us dread our birthday's so much that we lose site of the blessing that it is and what is truly important.

Thrift Store Road Trip

I am super blessed and grateful to be employed especially with the economy being the way that it is however, I feel super overworked. My body has literally crashed three times within the last two weeks...as in I go to take a "nap" and then wake up 13 hours later. I always have things that I have to take care of on the weekend and this time I wanted to do something fun and get some sleep. My original weekend plans got lost somewhere however, I decided that I wasn't going to allow that to be my excuse to waste my entire weekend at home just sleeping. So I decided to visit all the Value Villages in Atlanta and the surrounding area. I had a good time on my mini road trip around the A blasting my radio, slurping on some diet coke, and searching for treasures. So now I can go to bed for the rest of the weekend knowing that I did something fun for myself.

I'm only going to show a few things because I don't want this post to be overly picture heavy...even though most of my posts are. LOL My happiest purchase was my cream cape...I literally jumped and almost screamed when I found it because I had been looking for one for the longest. The accessories I got while I was on a lunch break during the week.

A Wonderful Weekend...

So if you follow me on Twitter (@SugarSweetGRITS) then you know that I had been "training" for a mountain bike race that took place this weekend. I threw bunny ears around the word training because my so called "training" didn't prepare me for squat. LOL I had worked my way up to finishing 20k in under an hour however, though there were a good amount of hills there weren't as many as they had in the race and I had been going on paved trails....NO paved roads whatsoever in the race. Don't get me wrong, I knew that there would be dirt trails involved however, I just didn't realize that they would be so narrow, rocky, filled with tons of tree roots, and have so many crazy dips.

On the day of the race I got intimidated because you could look at the people there with their awesome bikes and gear and see that they were for real about this sport. My bike was $100 and my gear was a gray shirt and some yoga pants...I felt a bit ummm I out of place and unprepared. Even though I was a bit nervous I was determined to see it through because as my hubby always says "Don't be a cream-puff" LOL...and well...I ain't no dag-um cream puff. LOL I am so blessed because my hubby was so supportive. He came out to my race as my cheerleader, biggest fan, and as my pit crew LOL. One of the things that I love so much about him is how much supports and believes in me. Regardless of what I want to do he always tells me that I can do anything.

My friend Ryan ,who got me into mountain biking, gave me so much advice, prepared my bike, and stayed with me for the beginning of the race to make sure that I was okay. So as I continued on by myself I had some scary moments and moments where I just felt like I wasn't going to make to the finish line without someone having to cary me out. One lap was 9 miles and while I had been able to do 14 during my "training" these 9 miles were pure hell. There were a few times where I hopped off my bike and walked it down and up some crazy root filled hills....I even pulled over and let some of the other racers just pass me (they had lapped me). It was then that I started to realize that life is a lot like this trail. In life our path isn't always wide, easy, and clear. We will come to hills we have to climb, narrow paths that just seem so hard to get through, and lots of bumps that we just get too tired to deal with sometimes. When I came to these things on the trail I realized that I had allowed some of these things on my path in life to stop me from attaining my goals, dreams, and just living my life. I decided that there would be no more of that EVER in my life and while I was racing being picked up was not an option...I was going to see this race through and this became symbolic of how I was going to lead my life. I also couldn't allow myself to quit because my hubby believed so much in me. So while I prayed and cursed (when you almost ride into a tree a few times cussing is okay lol) my way to the finish line I never felt more accomplished. I'm not a "winner" because I got the best time, came in first, or because I was honored with a medal...I'm a winner because I didn't quit. I stopped letting others pass me and got on trail and started pedaling (walking when I got to a steep hill LOL) and when I crashed into a few bushes I dusted myself off, put my bike back on the trail, and started pedaling again.

It ended up taking me 2:19:39.5 to finish...but I finished! My hubby also says "The race is not given to the swift nor the strong but that endure it to the end....NEVER QUIT"!!!

Ear Cuffs...

I love accessories and when I came across these ear cuffs I fell in love. Its because they are so different and at the moment I haven't really seen anyone rocking them...which is cool because I really don't like following trends. Anywhooo, ear cuffs generally aren't sold it pairs ((however, I did come across a pair which you will see in the at the bottom)) you get one for one ear and in the other you can put in a stud or whatever earring you fancy. I just love them because the combinations are endless. I will say though, they do take a little getting used to because of how they attach to your ear. Some just hook on from the back and others are put on like regular earrings and then you slide your ear into the cuff. NARS Runway....

So I FINALLY got the pictures out of my hubby's phone from the NARS makeup event that was held at Sephora several months ago. They brought NARS makeup artists in and it was all about the runway....meaning you could choose any of their runway looks past or present and they would recreate it on you. I chose a look from the fashion show that they did with Marc Jacobs back in 2010. I really loved the end result and it was a lot of fun getting my makeup done (Eric *MUA* was the best!) and just wearing something so different for no reason at all. I hope you all enjoy the pics. :-)

Found the Perfect Lot....

I can never get enough of vintage jewelry...ever! In my experience coming across clean, whole (as in not missing stones or pieces), and in great condition pieces is rare. However, a few days ago I came across four 50 piece lots of vintage jewelry for $19.00 a lot on eBay. I snagged up all four lots and I'm super thrilled with my purchase and even more thrilled when I got them today. It was a mixture of clip ons, screw backs, and bear claws. I believe my excitement about my package rubbed off on Mr. Bentley because he sat right along with me while I looked through everything. :-)

House of Disappointment

So for the passed month I have been obsessing over the All Over Gems and Stud Platform Pump in Gold. They cost $182.00 at Karmaloop.com and I finally decided to make the purchase. Now I have purchased several things from Karmaloop and I've been very satisfied...so this review is not about them. It is about a brand that they carry called House of Price. When I opened the box and I saw the shoes my heart sank I was so disappointed. It looked like a kindergarten art project...it looked like something I could have done myself and not at all worth the money that I spent. You can see the glue in between the stones, around the stones, through the stones, on the stones, and even on the sole. The bottom of the heel was beginning to unravel and looked like they had been scratched. I tried to see if maybe I was just being too critical and so I placed the shoes on my counter and stepped away to see if it would make a difference and I admit they looked okay. However, lets be real with shoes like these people would want to get to get a closer look and after doing so....they would see how cheap they are. Let me guys know what you think.

Mini Haul..

So today I decided to go to Ulta since they sent me a coupon to get 20% off of my entire purchase. I hope you guys enjoy my mini haul. :-)

I decided to pick up a few O.P.I nail polishes in colors that I thought would look great for fall. The block of color in between the two pictures is of my nail. Let me know if you guys would rather see my whole nail instead for future posts.

I don't really get excited about a lot of Urban Decay products however, I really couldn't pass this one up. This is supposed to be as big of a deal as their Naked palette as this one contains 15 brand new colors. I must say the colors are amazing, they are super pigmented, blend easily, and the packaging is so cute. Plus, I like to recycle and this pretty packaging won't be going to waste since there is a little spot in the bottom right where you can pop out the palette and use it as a jewelry box. The only thing I didn't like is it collects finger prints like crazy.

I couldn't get the lighting the way I wanted so the colors may look a little washed out however, I can assure you these are beautiful!

Lastly, I picked up Versace's Bright Crystal. I love clean scents as they obviously smell good and put me in such a good mood. I also thought it would look great on my perfume table....I am such a sucker for pretty packaging. LOL

Thrift Store Treasures...

I have been on a thrift store binge ever since I discovered how great my local Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Value Village are. I love thrift, consignment, and vintage stores because its like going back in time and shopping all the styles that were hot then and that are being imitated now. However, thrift stores are cheaper and its one of the places that vintage shops get their items from.

I know some people are weirded out by thrift stores however, don't be.... you will be surprised who and what you will find in there. I will say that its going to require some patience as you go through racks of clothing but the things you can find make it all worth it.

I came across some fabulous jewelry, accessories, and clothing. I couldn't show all the clothing because it had to go to the cleaners however, when I get them out I will post a video on YouTube.

FYI: On the last wednesday of every month everything is half off at Value Village. The Salvation Army has this same special EVERY wednesday. Both of these stores along with Goodwill tag their clothes with certain colors like red, orange, blue, and green. Everyday there is a color of the day so if the color of the day is green then all items with a green tag will be half off. You can save soooo much money. The last picture , I think, shows how much you can save. Happy Thrifting!!!

I still LOVE to shop at the mall however, I just thought that I got a clear understanding of how much I saved by looking at this picture. Remember that pink blazer that was selling like crazy at Zara for a $100? Well look at how many awesome blazers I got for less that. Some of them have never been worn either.

So as a lot of you all know I've moved from the east side of Atlanta to a suburb, where its more peaceful. ((Which is why I haven't been shooting any videos because I'm still getting settled in and working on my Glam Room)) Upon exploring nearby areas for great shopping, I found a lovely boutique in Peachtree City called Sugar Britches. Their staff is friendly, the boutique is pretty, it smells like vanilla, ohhhh and the most importantly....they have lots of faboulous shoes, accessories, and clothes. Plus, being that its a boutique you don't have to worry about a 100 other people running around with the same outfit. They don't have a website yet, however, if you want to check them out I will post their address at the end of this post. I love love love accessories and about a year ago I found a place called Charming Charlie. Now let me just say that this is the BEST accessory store ever!!! They have something for every style ((Rocker-Chick, Earthy Chick, Glam Chick...you name it)) in every color. They also carry some clothes, shoes, belts, bags and much more. It's basically heaven for any girl who loves accessories. I had to go to Macon for business this past weekend and before I left to come back home...this is what I picked up.

Get & Stay Motivated

Most people wait until the beginning of the week, the first of the month , or the New Year to start fresh, start a project, drop a bad habit, or start working on their goals. A majority of the time when people "fall off" or don't stick with their initial plan they wait for the "perfect" time to start over. ((I've been guilty of that myself)) In all actuallity, the perfect time to start something positive is now. Getting in shape, dropping pounds, or gaining weight ((I wish I was a person that actually wanted to gain weight lol)) even with "perfect timing" can be hard and the same goes for getting and stay motivated. Giving up the foods you love or pulling out workout gear, and sticking with the big goal can be hard, dreadful, and boring. ((And boy can we conjure up some good excuses to quit)) So here are a couple of things that I would like to share with you to help you stick with it.

Get some cute workout clothes...

Even though its not about looking pretty when you're working out...it sure does help when you feel like you look good or you have the right gear....As the saying goes "When you look good you feel good". ((You don't have to shop where I did there are tons of other cute places))

Even though its warm out now I still bought another hoodie & a sweater because autumn and winter are approaching and so I can't skip a day because its too cold outside. Don't make excuses...find solutions.

((I love them ...They are really slouchy and comphy. I know slouchy is a weird way to describe it but thats how they fit))

These were on sale and they match all three of my new yoga pants.

Invest in a good running shoe and remember if you're a runner you should replace your running shoe every 6 months to protect your feet.

If a gym membership is too expensive or you don't like working out in front of other people...you can always buy DVDs and do it the privacy of your own home.

Get educated....Sometimes people don't make progress because they think they are eating the right things or not working out enough. When really they are eating the wrong things and/or working out too much or too little. I really love shape there are tons of success stories from people who were overweight and are now back into their favorite jeans. Its filled with tons of tips , workouts, and recipes. The celebs that grace the cover share what they do and Shape NEVER AIRBRUSHES OR PHOTOSHOPS THE PEOPLE YOU SEE ON THE COVER.

Dump out all the bad food you have in your house and replace it with foods that will help you reach your goal. You don't want it in your home because you may find yourself tempted or "craving" for it when you know its there. Eating good makes you feel good.

Make a playlist or CD filled with songs that pump you up, make you feel sexy, and even songs that make you angry. I say that because songs that pump you up actually get and keep you motivated. Songs that make you feel sexy help you feel good about your workout and help you picture the end result when you're back in your favorite jeans or dress. Songs that make you angry ...well...right when you think you're going to quit on your run these songs pump you up and make you dig deep to finish the "fight". ((The fight to get yourself back)) Music also helps you focus on something other than the workout and studies have shown that people who workout to music burn more calories because it helps get and keep your heart rate up.

((Don't laugh at my playlist...lol))

Find something that constantly motivates you and don't buy clothes for the size you are now. For some motivation may be an upcoming wedding, class reunion, or vacation. My motivation comes from my clothes. The reason I say don't buy clothes in a size you're not happy with is because its like saying "I'm okay with this size" when really you're not. Besides, shopping for a size that you will be is more fun than shopping for a size you hate.

Set a goal for yourself and then set littler goals to meet that will help you reach the big one. Like if you want, to drop 10 pounds don't try to do it in a week. Instead give yourself 5 weeks and try to loose 2 a week. If it doesn't happen one week don't get all upset an quit...stay with it.

My goal is to run 3 miles in 24 minutes. Right now....it takes me 30. My littler goal is to be able to take a minute off of my run time every 2 weeks.

The race is not given to swift nor the strong but those that endure it to the end. NEVER QUIT!!!!

Don't Knock It Until You've Rocked It

For some reason this year I'm uber excited about the Fall. I've already gotten into the Fall Fashion spirit by updating my wardrobe, shoes, and even my make-up kaboodle. Even though I own natural colors I've never been overly into them ((Unlike my BFF Erika..who I've been threatening to beat if she doesn't start wearing some of the colors that Rainbow Bright would wear lol)) up until a few months ago and right now I can't seem to get enough of them. Now don't get it twisted, I'm still all over the rainbow however, I'm focusing more on rich colors rather than those that pop. In the past there were colors that I wouldn't bother trying because I didn't think I could pull it off and I really couldn't fathom how colors like Olive ((Which is my new favorite color)) or Burgundy could be considered pretty....thats of course, until I Rocked It! Now that I've tried them on.. I'm addicted.

I got these items from Sephora.com and at the actual store.

((Sephora.Com)) The Midsummer Dream collection comes with a nail polish in Adelita, an all purpose cream stick in Orgasm, and a duo blush in Hungry Heart.

((Sephora.Com)) The So Famous collection also comes with a multi purpose cream stick in Orgasm, a lip pencil in Bettina, and a blush in Deep Throat. (NARS names are a "bit out there")

((Sephora.com)) This ,believe it or not, is a blush. Its called Albatross and it' actually a gold-ish color...really pretty.

((Sephora Store)) NARS came out with a primer...and so far its pretty good. I used it on the swatch below.

((Sephora Store)) The Blue-ish looking color is actually purple and its called Daphne, the yellow color is Mangrove, and the eyeshadow duo is Eurydice. This is apart of NARSs new Fall collection...aren't they purrrty?? ( I told ya'll not to get it twisted lol)

((Sephora Store)) Eyeshadow Pencil in Palladium. This is also a Fall item believe it or not.

((Sephora Store) I'm super happy about this lip color...Strawberry Fields...its super rich and kind of looked like it would be too dark for me...but its actually perfect!!!

In my last post I had several empty containers and so I purchased them again however, this time I decided that I was going to start another M.A.C palette however, this one would be for "Earthy" colors and the colors that I ran out of would be the first ones in it. I would also like to add that when you buy them for a palette you save $3.00 a color!!

The two lippies that I chose are Liquid Lurex and Cunning. When I first saw Liquid Lurex I was like "ooooakay...moving right along" however, I went back and tried it and to my surprise I loved it!!! Cunning is a lot lighter than it looks and its really really pretty.

They have four liquid eye liners and I picked out Desires & Devices (Olive Color) and Defiantly Feline. Both have a metallic finish.

The next few items are not from a collection...just random items that I picked up.

Brown Script, Dazzelight, and Cranberry

These are some old time favorites....I replaced these colors when I dropped off my empty containers. The pink one is Wonder Struck. The Burgendy-ish - Brown-ish one is Transplant.

This color has been apart of M.A.C for years and for years I looked at it like uhhhh??? LOL. However, during my last trip to the M.A.C store one of the artists suggested that I try it and when I did I was like WOW. Its not green...its sheer with sparkles and it really pretty on.

This is the new Urban Decay palette. I've been obsessing over this palette...Sephora and Urban Decay cannot keep this palette in stock. I couldn't wait anymore so I found and bought one off of Ebay. It comes with a mini UDP, a brown, and black eye pencil. These colors are absolutely beautiful, super pigmented, and easy to blend. I didn't even use primer on the swatch below.

I think the saying is "Believe only half of what you see" or something like that...but my point is Don't Knock It Until You Rock It.

BTW...It would be extremely rude of me to talk about someone and not introduce them....

Okay...so I'm not going to lie and say that I'm so GREEN that I make CPT Planet look like a litter bug (If you were born in the 90's you probably don't 'know who that is...lol) however, I don't litter and I am totally working on the whole recycling thing.

There are two companies that make recycling beautiful by rewarding you with FREE beauty products in exchange for your empty containers...Lush and M.A.C. With Lush if you bring back five clean pots you get a free face mask. Their products are wonderful and they are really big on the environment. With M.A.C if you bring back any 6 containers like the lipglass tube, palette, pigment jars or blush jars you get a FREE lippy if you go to a M.A.C counter. If you go to a M.A.C store you can choose a FREE lippy or eyeshadow .

So this morning I decided to do my part and make a trip to the mall. I love programs like this because I'm doing my part so the planet wins and I....I get FREE goodies. LOL

These are the pots that I turned in today....

For my free face mask I chose BB Seaweed which is supposed to be good for preventing wrinkles.

Lush is really big on the environment and this little bag is the equivalent to those reusable bags that Wal-Mart and other grocery stores use ...except that this is actually a scarf. You lay the scarf flat in front of you so that it is laid out like a diamond. You tie a knot on the top and bottom corner. Put your goodies in the middle and then take the other two sides and tie them together. I absolutely love it!!

LOL...while I was there I couldn't help but to pick up a few other items...The Grass shower gel is awesome!!! This is my 2nd bottle and let me just say it smells amazing!!! (( I don't know too much about the other two shower gel's just yet...I will try them out and give you guys a review on it later)) The Mask of Magnaminty is an absolute favorite....if you don't try anything else from Lush you have to this...it leaves your face feeling clean and fresh!

Here are my empty M.A.C containers...I had a total of 12 and so I got two free items. I ended up spending money to get the colors that I ran out of but I chose colors that hadn't got around to trying as my free items.

Since I returned 12 containers I got two FREE (don't you just love that word??? LOL) items.

Syrup...I love this color it looks super pink on here but it's not....Its actually the color of my lips which works great for when I want to do more natural looks.....I love it!!!

All right so if you haven't started doing your part then...GET TO IT!!! LOL

I've had quite a few things going on the past few months so I haven't been able to sit down and read ((Because of homework...blah!!! LOL)) the books I like however, I'm getting back to it so here is my brain exercise "playlist" a.k.a selections..lol

I have to read this book first because I've had it for month!!..SMH

These last two books are how-to books filled with tips and short stories.

This is In Style's May issue and I WILL sit down read it today and enjoy it!!! I'm making some "ME" time. LOL

M.A.C....I just can't get enough

The first time that I purchased M.A.C was back in 2002 and I fell so in love. Years later it is still my addiction and I don't think that I will ever be able to get enough of it. I at one point I vowed to never purchase makeup from any other line...lol Even though I love me some Nars and Makeup Forever there is nothing like your first love...lol

OK so there were two collections that came out this month "To The Beach" and "Opulash". I also purchased some random items that I know came from a collection however I don't remember the name ***shrug*** Anywhoo what I am SUPER excited about are my MAC PRO multi-purpose chromographic pencils and four new pro-eyeshadows. I went to Vegas this month and I the opportunity to go to a MAC PRO store and I felt like I was in make-up heaven. ((I'm a nerd I know however, there are only 13 in the country and I always wanted to go)) These colors are only sold at MAC PRO stores and on their website. I'm excited about the items that I added to my collection because its summer time and I was undecided about what I wanted more in my summer collection. Did I want even more bright colors or some nice earthy neutral colors? Well, I decided I wanted both eye-popping colors for the bright summer day and earthy-neutrals for those summer evenings....or why not just combine them together??

So these pencils can be used as a lip, an eye, or whatever you need pencil...lol They are rich in color and apply smoothly

I only need 4 more colors to finish this palette...I have reserved this for my pro-colors. About a month

or two ago MAC PRO made about 8 colors available to the MAC and I almost ran to the mall LOL. They still have them out just ask one of the MAC artists about them.

This mascara is amazing!! It really makes my lashes look longer and fuller without making them clump together...yuck!!

Hot weather is finally here!!! Yahooooooooooo!!!! Off with the sweaters, thick coats, boots, and tights!!! ((Does the stanky leg dance out of shear joy...LOL)) One of the biggest trends for this spring and summer is balance and modesty. Meaning if you're showing a lot of leg then cover up your top and vice versa. Instead of "Letting it all hang out" simply give a little "peep show" and leave a little something to the imagination. Ok so as you all know I am a HUGE accessory fanatic and I'm always looking for something new and different. I came across a page on Twitter for a business called EARRINGSBYTRACI and I decided to take a look at their website Designs by Traci . I found some really nice earrings that I wanted to share with you all. Their earrings are handmade out of wood and they are hand painted...I absolutely love them!!! I must also include that their packaging is so cute & girly, their customer service is great, and shipping time is pretty fast. Make sure to follow them on Twitter and check out their website.

I love this pretty box...LOL Presentation (to me) is everything and they do a great job.

Each pair of earrings come in their own cute little bag to protect your earrings.

The pair to the left was apart of my first order however, I have a short neck (lol) so I decided to order the smaller pair and I WAS going to give the larger pair to my sister. However, in the next picture you will see that they sent an extra set of bear claw hooks which I used to shorten the earrings and now I can wear BOTH pair!!! Yay!!!

Fungus is NOT Glamourous!

Okay... Spring is here and we all know what time it is...its time for those sexy strappy open-toe stilettos, sandals, and flip-

flops. Now,we all know the rule---don't rock'em if those toes aren't done! Statement rings are in more than ever and if you're going to draw attention to your hands then you better make sure those nails are done! However....what about the possibility of getting some sort of fungus??? Ewlll!!!

I caught a fungus on my big-toe from this nail salon by my house because they weren't very sanitary. So this is what my big toe looks like right now. :-(

Have you ever watched everything your nail tech does??

Do they wash their hands after they finish with one client and move on to you?

Do they sanitize their tools?

What do they do with the pumus bar that they scrub your feet with?? ((they rinse it in your foot water and put it in a drawer to use on the next person!!!))

What about the nail polish.... I mean just because your nails are "clean" before they paint them...what if the last person's nails had a fungus? They paint the nail, dip the brush back in the bottle, repeat this process until they are done, and put the bottle away. That bottle is now contaminated and if you happen to choose that color....catch my drift??

So now....I have to paint my nail with this everyday for the next 6 months!

Fungus is so gross and it really couldn't have come at a more worse time with my wedding a few weeks away and it being spring/summer time!!! So now I'm too embarrassed to wear the shoes that I have been craving to wear all fall and winter long! I had to go to the doctor and cut a piece of my toenail for them to run tests on it and then they had to draw blood to check my liver before they prescribe and oral medication. In the meantime they prescribed Ciclopirox, I have to paint this on my toes everyday for the next 6 months!!! Ughhh!! However, the bright side is that it will go away and I can make sure that I don't have to go through this again...but I'm going to be a little sad every time I look at my sandals....

To ensure I don't suffer through this again...I invested in my OWN tools and lacquer...if I decided to do my own nails I would not only protect myself but I would save money too. However, I'm not going to do my own toes ...I don't have the ability to do all those great designs. However, by cleaning and brining your own tools and polish you protect yourself from catching some sort of fungus and some salons actually give you a discount because they aren't using their own products on you. You also want to find a nail salon that has spa chairs with either glass, ceramic, or metal tubs because plastic tubs hold a lot of germs. If the only nail salons in your area have plastic tubs don't be scared to ask them to clean the tub (with disinfectant) right in front of you. Remember they are in business because of YOU and YOU have a right to protect yourself.

So I went to Sally's Beauty Supply today and purchased my own nail tools to bring to the salon and I ordered some beautiful China Glaze nail polish from Head2ToeBeauty ...Did I mention I got my nail polish for the low????

My purchase from Sally's...I have the alchohol to sanitize my own products.

Cotton and Acetone whenever I decide to do my nails at home.

My own pumus bar, nail buffer, and scrubber....these items are used over and over on everyone that comes into the salon and they're not properly sanitized in between uses. Don't believe it?? Watch what your nail tech does the next time you go in...ewll!

The pack is really a good deal because the cuticle clipper by itself is like $15.00 at most stores.
