New England Summer Vacation 2010 (Pt4)

Here we come.......after leaving Rhode Island we are heading on I-95 toward Boston..We are driving thru the famous "Big Dig" or Central Artery/Tunnel Project in Boston city.The Big Dig was the most expensive highway project in the U.S.The project of the tunnel cost staggering USD 22 billion!! what a beautiful view from here! the city of Boston look like NYC.."the walking city". Parking can be difficult but public transportation is easy to access..

I bought a room in Boston city before we left home.This hotel is 4 stars level and is about 30% cheaper than all others site thru a Internet site .I was quite nervous with the site (otel) which I bought our room bcoz I never heard of the name before .When I called the hotel to confirm the reservation numbers the hotel said the numbers doesn't exist!! Then I keep calling the booking site when I was at home and in Conn,they said it's took them 24-48 hours to update and send the accurate information to the hotel. Usually I review and check the background of the site before I make any booking but on that day I was in hurry when I see the great price offered!! At last minute planning.*sigh*...I just click to buy button and there I go...

And then my credit card company called on the day before we left home.The credit card company saw hundred of dollars transactions accrued during 2 days period.They afraid someone might stole our info's to make all the purchase. After confirm all the transactions with credit card company I realised that "otel" charged the room I purchase in Boston.The fact to the matter the company HQ is in Istanbul,Turkey!! That make me even nervous..Why they charge my room when I just make the booking but they do not have the right confirmation or reservation numbers for the hotel which I booked in Boston? Then I realised the hotel I booked thru Hotel.com in Conn for our 1st day trip was not even charge yet! hmmmmmm...something doesn't look good right? Scam or ???? The only thing that I afraid is that I can't get a decent price room in Boston at last minutes bcoz Boston 's room is quite pricey like NYC.As for the charges I'm not afraid,after all I can refer as dispute to the credit card and the credit card company can take care for us. Of course ,I didn't tell this incident to Eliot.He is more anxious and nervous then me..His job is to drive to the destination. If he know the hell will break loose..The first thing I'm sure he will said is "cancel the trip or buy another room"!!. Since I'm the one who do all the planning and booking for our trip,all I can do now is wait...Luckily before I left Rhoda Island the sale rep from otel in US side called to tell me that they email the confirmation numbers to me.*me let the big air out".I quickly call the hotel in Boston to confirm our room numbers..The front office gal told me the numbers is correct!! That means otel is a legit and new company which take longer time to confirm any reservation bcoz it's base in Turkey!! However since this company is base in Turkey ,the credit card company charge foreign transaction fee for our purchase which I didn't realise but still the room is much cheaper compare with other travel site base in US..

here we come Boston! the hotel which I booked is in the heart of Boston..15 walking distant to everywhere within the city..
this hotel is a landmark since 1855...must be old and run down ,right? but the hotel spend 30 million dollar renovation and restoration and it's completed in August, 2008 . This hotel located on the Freedom Trail. We can enjoy grand views of historic downtown Boston, distinguished décor and thoughtful amenities that are evident in every striking detail in each of the 551 luxurious guest rooms. To walk to Beacon Hill, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Quincy Market, the Financial District, shopping and more it's just about 2.5 miles (10-15 minutes) from Logan International Airport.

I buy a double deluxe room but the front desk said it's a full size bed only.."Double" mean 2 person in a bed ,the guys at front desk explained to me..I dunno it's my mistake or not, try to understand the classification of double in hotel term but I keep insist that I booked "double deluxe" room!! I said to the guy at front desk "deluxe" must mean bigger bed or 2 beds room not one Full size bed for 2 person ,right? Some discount travel site didn't have children or child column to check when booking..I know Priceline don't have children in their booking column.All they have is adult or senior.If I put Mishu as an adult they going to charge the price much higher.The fact is Mishu is still a 5 year old child!! Then the front office guy took sometime to think over and then he said "right now we only have one 2 full size bed room,isn't OK"? of course, it's OK for me bcoz Mishu is a full size child/woman.. 3 of us can't sleep in a Full size bed!! But he took my reservation print out to proven that the room he gave me stated down as"double Deluxe".viola!!.....god bless that nice guy! the only thing bad in the room is the size...I guess since Boston is an old and expensive city,the space must be limited and pricey! .. if we have a chance in future to visit Boston again,I will definitely book this hotel again!!

Daddy decide to have some "Kwai loh ice tea"a.k.a beer in Cheers..Remember the TV show"Cheers"..This restaurant took the same setting from Cheers.

Mishu and mommy decided to walk around while waiting for daddy but after a while mummy get thirsty too

so we go to Cheers to join daddy...Mishu had H2O with lemon and mummy had a glass of cocktail..We also ordered some snack like buffalo chicken wing and cheese on fries...

after our snack and drink,we walk long Boston harbor...It's only weekday and this restaurant was fully packed with people age around 30's enjoying their time with friends and co-workers.

have you ever heard of "Boston Tea Party" or The phrase "No Taxation Without Representation!" in history ? This harbor is the place where 1773 Revolutionary War against British happened there..American-British throw all the tea into the water at this harbor..to demostrate against unfair taxation..

we spend sometime walking along the harbor before heading back to our hotel..since we have some snack from Cheers and still have leftover KFC from lunch,then we are good for the night!
Three of us are dead tired,so it's time to go back to our room..Walking back from Boston harbor to our hotel is about 15 -20 minutes.....

New England Summer Vacation 2010 (Pt3)

Here I come....Part 3 of our vacation...After we left Providence ,we are driving toward Northeast of Rhode Island.Eliot was looking for a leather store to buy his motorcycle gear. When we was in Conn,he told me about the store but when I look for the store online ,it's too far off the North of Conn.It's out of our way and not worth the time to go there.We found out they have the same store in Rhode Island..since Rhode Island is the small States in USA,the location doesn't matter to us.. we was driving on Interstate 95

we had lunch in KFC before leaving Rhode Island to Hyannis,Cape Cod..I remember day the ,the weather was really hot and humid...maybe about 103 or 105 F...when we reach Hyannis ,we check into our room...I forget to get some photo of our room..coz it's come with jacuzzi!! so cool..

after we check into our room ,we walk along Main St.The store along Main St is quite interesting but I forget to get my camera from luggage..so no photos...The next day we visit the harbor or port in Hyannis..

When I heard of Hyannis,it's remind me of Kennedy's name..Kennedy's clan owned many property and home here..We can take ferry from here to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.....but the ferry fare is superb expensive!! some people said you don't have to go to Martha's Vineyard to enjoy Cape Cod,just stay on the mainland is good enough...same shit! ahaha! we can smell the people from here are rich and famous! ahaha!

I saw alot of party boat at the harbor.Wish I can join them for fishing trip.I remember my master told me ,he likes to come to Cape Cod to fish Cod fish and tuna

Hyannis is also one of the famous tourist attraction in Mass..

it's about lunch time,so we headed to Spanky's Clam Shack to have out lunch ..At least we must try some fresh seafood from Cape Cod.

I order Mishu's kiddy size fried chicken tender with french fries..

then we have fried calamari ...really delicious!!

and a seafood with pasta..daddy and mummy share this huge seafood pasta dish..this seafood pasta dish is really worth the $$$ coz they have lobster,clam,mussel,shrimp ,fish and scallop in it!! if we return again to Hyannis in future I'm sure going to visit this place again!!
it's not only worth the $$$ to have this pasta dish but it's sauce is superb delicious too!! nobody can beat any pasta dish that add in real lobster!

after the lunch we headed to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for Woods Hole Science Aquarium .Remember our trip to Mystic,Conn? Mishu was sick when we visit the Aquarium? We miss the Aquarium ,so to make up our lost ,I found this science Aquarium in Cape Cod for us to visit...Woods Hole Science Aquarium is a public aquarium that displays approximately 140 species of marine animals found in Northeast and Middle Atlantic waters.Admission is free bcoz it's owned by federal government and operated by NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service, in partnership with the Marine Biological Laboratory.

The aquarium has display cases with bones, skulls, and teeth of sharks and other marine creatures at the entrance they had Seal perform the show for us..There are 4 type of Seal in the family... I always wonder what is the different between Seal and Sea Lion......
after the tour..it's the time for us to leave Cape Cod..
but before we leave we hang along the seaside looking across Atlantic Ocean.. goodbye Cape Cod........and we are heading toward........................ to be continue....................

Sorry if you are waiting for my 3rd part of New England entry ,I will post it later on..But right now I try to understand something since I'm not good in math or calculation at all..Do you know what is eCPM ? I wonder how google calculate the AdSense impression or eCPM? Then I google to seek for the answer " how to calculate AdSense impression?" But still I don't understand..hmmmm...(scratching my head) Do you have any ideas how to calculate the "clicks" or "impression"? below screen shot is my currant printed screen shot analytics account from all of my 3 active blog..(double click the screen shot image in order to see larger image)

you see ..one of my blog have higher Page Impression and Clicks but the Page eCPM($$) is lower then another blog who have lower Page Impression and Clicks but higher in Page eCPM..wonder why? maybe some advertiser have higher quality ad and they pay google better $$ ? The second screenshot image below was my last month AdSense report..You see the Page Impression and Clicks on both my kitchen blog have so much different in figure,right? but the Page CTR % and Page eCPM is almost the same!! Since the calculation is so confusing I guess I'm not in the position to know whether "google" pay me the right amount or not,right? well...

Well ,anyway if your blog host my Blogger don't have AdSense,why don't you add some AdSense on it? You have nothing to lose since it's already there..Who know maybe you can make some $$$ to buy this and that..like your favourite handbag ,dress or pot and pan,right?

It's really took me few days to select and re-size this batch of photos.Anyway,let's me continue our second day journey entry..before I continue our second day journey,we had dinner after we checked in to our room nearby..While we was in CVS pharmacy waiting for Mishu medicine,Eliot asked a lady to introduce us a good restaurant for dinner..The lady told us Steakloft restaurant near the aquarium is a great restaurant.. So Steakloaf we go since is less than 1 mile from our lodging.

New England Summer Vacation 2010(Pt1)

As I mentioned in previous entry that we was vacationing in New England for a week..Well,I try to post the entry of our vacation trip as soon as I'm home and free but due to the heat wave,doctor visit ,running errands,food shopping and etc..so this entry been delay for days..Thousand apologise♥ to my dear readers☺.Actually I wish to visit all the States in New England which is CONNECTICUT, MAINE ,MASSACHUSETTS, NEW HAMPSHIRE ,RHODE ISLAND and VERMONT but unfortunately we didn't visit Vermont because we lacked of time and unforeseen circumstance arrived upon us..Maybe one day in future we will visit Vermont on the way if we plan to visit Toronto or Montreal or NY Upstate again.Long story short,let's me bring you to our journey beginning from our home we was in "standby mode" lane waiting for the ferry from Orient Point to New London,Conn.I didn't know that we need to make reservation for the ferry..From this port we can travel by ferry to Mohegan Sun or Foxwood casino is just about 1 hour 15 minutes..Since we live in Long Island travel by ferry to Conn is an great ideal because it's save us plenty of time,gas and traffic..not to said we can enjoy beautiful scenery across Atlantic ocean..each trip cost us USD 70..of course it's calculated the cost per-passenger not per-car.A driver with car cost USD49.95 and each additional passenger cost USD 14.95.Children under 12 cost USD6.00

we wish we can go in to this ferry but too bad it's fully booked.We have to wait for the next ferry,(pray very hard ) wish the next ferry is not fully booked.. we was amazed this type of ferry company is very well organise..all the attendants carry a ticket machine and walkie-talkie.They can print your ticket using that machine hanging at their belt when you just give then your reservation numbers..
we are so happy when the next ferry arrived and the attendants allowed us to board before the ferry depart.Minnie keeping Mishu company when we get out from the car to the deck.I keep saying we should stop at Mohegan Sun or Foxwood on our way to Mystic but daddy said they won't allow Mishu to enter the casino.Hiyaaa.....what a bumper! I think I hear "Uncle Lim" calling my name at Pai Gow (Chinese dominoes)table and black jack table! hahaha! I choose to sit in the AC 's room coz it's quite hot and warm outdoor at the deck. about 1 hour and 10 minutes we can see New London port from the ferry daddy and Mishu get ready to go back to our car before the ferry dock at the port what a nice view from here, right? but actually New London is quite a run down neighbor all the cars line up to get out from the ferry .Again we was impressed by their organise system coz both side of the entrance has cars line up but no honking or shouting heard!!
saw this old and antique fire hydrant...before we proceed straight to Mystic Aquarium without wasting time!! time is $$$! haha!that week the weather was really over 100 F...hot ,humid and muggy!! We bought the tickets at the entrance..The ticket is quite expensive but not as expensive as the Sea World!!! Still each adult ticket cost USD 28 plus and Mishu's ticket cost USD 20.. the first spot we viewed was Mr Ray...

we told Mishu to gently touch Mr Ray but Mishu keep saying"No,No"!!

then we walk to the indoor aquarium..

Mishu keep pointing this fish,that fish and then trouble begin.....

luckily I able to take few snap of the fish before she want to go to bathroom

Then Mishu stay in the bathroom for 2 hours in agony,crying bawling and howling..

look at the sad face!! We took her to the nearest hospital..

we arrived at the ER in 15 minutes.The nurse requested Mishu's urine sample..after urine sample taken, she wanted to go bathroom for the 20th time! haha!

now she feel better!!.Look at her smiling face! woo...hooo!!

while waiting for the doctor to give her result, Mishu watching TV in the room

she can even imitate the cartoon character!! then come the doctor,gave us her prescription and advise us to call the lab in 2 days for her urine cultured result..We quickly send her prescription to the nearest pharmacy to get her medicine..After the "brouhaha" we check into the Ramada's nearby to get some rest and shower before we headed for our dinner..

Update: We called the lab which the hospital send her urine cultured.They told us her urine was contaminated and asked us to follow up with Mishu's pediatrician.Yesterday I took Mishu to her new pediatrician,the doctor took her urine sample again..now waiting for the result..her new doctor said she look fine so far,maybe she had urine infection..Hope nothing serious come out of it..

New England Here we Come!

We are on our SUMMER vacation right now.Actually it's a last minutes trip..On Monday we left home early in the morning to take ferry from Orient Point to New London.I didn't know that I have to make a reservation for the ferry.When are reached the port,I realised that without reservation if the ferry is fully booked,we have to on" stand by".That suck right? Well we wait for the next ferry since the one we want to get on was full!!! We pray hard that the next ferry is not full or we are able to squessh in..I think GOD heard us!! We are lucky the 11 am ferry let us in..Long story short,I booked all the rooms for our vacation online at last minutes and I choose not refundable room coz it's about 20-30% cheaper.
Right after the ferry docked at New London port,we drove to Mystic Aquarium.The weather is super hot and humid when we reached Mystic.I think we are having heat wave right now..Today I feel we are baking in the oven when I walk out to the street.We bought the aquarium ticket and just walk over to see Mr Ray,Mishu said she want to visit bathroom..So bathroom we go..

Mishu refused to come out from bathroom said her tummy-ache.I have to run back to the car to get my medicated oil to rub her tummy.After tummy rub she said she can't pee..She still refused to leave bathroom..She try to pee but she had a hard time..She stay in the bathroom for almost 2 hours..She was crying in pain when urinated..I tried to call daddy but my cell have zero signal!! what a bumper!!
All the woman in the bathroom was staring at me..They thought I must abuse this little gal since she is bawling ,howling and crying in pain..I have to explain to all these woman that "my daughter is having pain while she peeing." They advise me to go to pharmacy or clinic to get her medication and let her drink cranberry juice"..But the problem is Mishu refused to leave WC..I tried to persuade her to leave coz I'm going to bring her to emergency room..Monday was a public holiday too..Long story short I drag her out from the bathroom.I saw few security guard with walkie talkie walk toward me..They asked me what happened..Told that woman with walkie talkie that my daughter is in pain and she urinated blood..Then come daddy,he talk to her.I tried to calm Mishu down..That woman gave us the address of nearest hospital ..She offered to us the whole full entrance fee refund which is the best part!!We really appreciated her thought..
We quickly brought Mishu to the emergency room.It took us about 15 minutes from the aquarium to get there.The nurse want to take urine culture from Mishu..Again Mishu had hard time peeing..She brought water for her to drink and I request for a diaper..At that time Mishu was calming down and she feel slighter better.But she still pee blood.She refused to wear diaper,said she want to pee in bathroom not diaper!! aiyooo...I feel sorry for her..I know she sick and I try to make her comfortable..We was so worried that she had bloody urine.The doctor told us we should call the hospital back in 2 days to get the urine culture result..Anyway,he prescribe antibiotic and some medication for Mishu..
Today Mishu feel like a normal kid again..I'm glad she feel better .If not she keep howling that she want to go home..
This morning we left Mystic, Connecticut to Rhode Island.We visit Museum of Culinary in Rhode Island and now we are at Cape Cod. Tomorrow we are going to Boston and then Maine..
So for now I will just pray that Mishu be in good health.I will update more of our trip when I go home with plenty of photos..Stay tune:)

Mishu's Pre-K Graduation and Pool Day!!

It's the time of year before summer again!! Graduation!! Mishu's was graduate from her Pre-K last week.I have no idea that US school system treat each year graduation like they graduate from University!! very Big deal!! I seen many people held graduation party for their children..My neighbor even had a graduation party for their children who is still going to middle school and high school . Well maybe I'm still thinking "graduation" is only for college student or University student!! backward Malaysia mentality!! Must re-adjust my way of thinking again since I have Mishu going to Kindergarten this coming Fall..Anyway,Mishu's school informed us that they will held GRADUATION CEREMONY for them on the last day of school..Each of the parents collect $$$ to buy gift card for the teachers too..Hmmm....I have alot to learn when Mishu start going to real school...They told me parents have to volunteer at school and so on...

The tallest and biggest of all the kids is Mishu in the middle..You can't miss her! As usual we was late for the ceremony..When Mishu walk in they prepare to recited The Pledge of Allegiance..

chubby Mishu...I think all the kids parents must wonder what we feed Mishu☻ actually Mishu wear nice and pretty dress for her graduation ceremony but was cover by the loose white T-shirt given by the school

Okay...time for snack!! the school prepared some snack for them:cake,drink,fruit,cookies and gift..By the time I finish taking video with my camera,the battery juice gone! shut off!! I forget to re-charge the battery the night before....aiyah...yah!! so no photos for the snack time and no photos at Ihop.I suggested to daddy we should celebrate her graduation at Ihop since it's still breakfast time..

For now just enjoy the video from her school ceremony

This summer I enrolled Mishu's in swimming lesson for level 2..Last year she was in level 1.She learn how to breath under the water ,learn kicking and not afraid of water anymore.Our township pool open last weekend .Honestly it's quite late that the pool open end of June but what to do??...They hire high school and college student as their life guard..So in order for the pool to open they have to wait for the kids to get out from their school first..

this gal can't wait...she keep said hurry...

look !!! she already at the entrance waiting...she thought the pool is not waiting for her,maybe it's will disappear!!

atleast she can swim "face in" for a short distant..the problem is she don't listen to me..I show her how to kick her legs and use her hands to spread the water while "face in"..She keep saying she want to be mermaid!! keep hopping and twisting around like mermaid.. aiyooooo....

that why she need to learn from the life guard.An outsider!! Her daddy can't teach her too.They both just playing crazy in the pool..Sometimes things need to be done by paying someone to do the job ..People told me "just ask daddy to teach her why waste $$$?" who dunno mother is a woman,right?

in 2 days she already have tan.Her skin color turn golden brown..Mishu have easily tan skin but not burn..I didn't even apply any sunblock or sun tan lotion for her..As for me I was burnt on the 1st day!! only 2 hours under the sun!! poor me..I used to love suntan ...When I was living in Malaysia, I visit Cherating,Penang,Lumut and etc beaches to suntan..People said I'm nut,where got Asian or Chinese lay on the beach to dried like salted fish!! When I lived in NYC I still carry the suntan traditional...travelling to beaches every summer to suntan...but now just after couple of hours under the sun I get dizzy and headache....not to said I burnt like turkey! I guess maybe my body change when age catching up...

one happy kid!! we visit the pool daily since I bought the family membership for the whole summer...on that day was weekend ,the pool is kind of crowded..Today is the pool is almost empty...just few kids playing around with Mishu..

daddy said why not utilised the membership to the full extend since we already paid for it!! and the most important is to make Mishu happy too!!☺

Summer Flower Plants

Summer is officially here..These day the weather at Northeast is really hot and humid..I starting to experiencing headache and nausea whenever I come out from AC room to a room temperature room which is 90 F plus heat *sigh* Well,let's talk about about my plant instead of me and my headache.Let's me show you my flower plants at my yard and surrounding of the house. I guess,l'm addicted to flower plants...No word needed,just enjoy the beautiful photos..

Yellow Day lily-I bought it from Lowe's on weekly Special sale for $3.50 a pot

not one but 2 pots!
Last year I planted 2 strawberry plants,I thought it's dead .....but early this spring I saw some white flowers blooming and now I have some strawberry fruit too..Too bad before I know some squirrel ate the ripe fruit☻ .naughty squirrel!!

I was amazed at the plant,have colorful flower!!

this is how the whole plant look like.Beginning of May when I planting vegetables seed at this patch I thought it's weed,almost remove them..but then I change my mind later.Just move to another spot..luckily I transfer the plant instead of throwing away.. last year I bought 2 pot of clematis at the end of summer at very low price. I was surprised this year it's bloomed big time!
but out of 2 plants of clematis only 1 plant bloomed!
as usual I must get Impatient for my summer plant..I love Impatient coz it's bloom whole summer long and have beautiful various wonderful color!
I bought 5 "trays" or here we called "Flat" of Impatient plant .I divided the flowers to few planters and pots and display those planter on my deck.

last year Dianthus plant coming back this summer again..I would recomand this annual plant to you if you like double tone beautiful flower bloom whole summer long actually I have this plant of hydrangea for 4 years now but this year it's bloom so pretty and huge!!
I understand hydrangea flower change color depend on the aluminum of the soil..this look like purplish color..wait ....next post I must show you some pink color hydrangea flower from this same plant!!

1 of the 2 plant hibiscus that survived last winter coz I store them in my bedroom!! and now it's blooming!
this year I dunno what happend to this bunch of Orange color day lilies.They are really tall and huge!!
I'm sure my mom will love this!! she keep asking me about my lilies..
I bought this pot of fuchsia hanging pot on sale from Lowe's on sale for $6.99!! I think the flower look like 'bleeding heart" right?Well,come back from more flower and my own grow vegetable at backyard..

Candy Candy 小甜甜 which I love!

Today I found Candy Candy Japanese animation on Youtube, so thrill and excited!! I remember when I was 10 0r 11 year old I saw "Candy Candy" Japanese manga subbed in Cantonese language.At that time VHS is the only optional for us to see movie or drama from other cultures or countries..No cable or VCD or DVD yet!! This Japanese manga left a very deep memories and impression in me as a pre-teenager who are a dreamer..I think after watching "Candy Candy" manga drama ,it's make me wondering what,where and how people live is America .It's make me started to imagine my journey to the Land of Opportunity a.k.a U.S and A..I'm in very early age dream to travel the world...no wonder people or expert said don't let's children watch too much TV or video game! ahaha!

I was surprised Candy Candy produced in so many language:Russian,Spanish,Chinese,Italian,Philippine ,French and etc..

I remember when I watched this drama I was crying and crying crazy..it's so pathetic,sad,lovely ,romantic,courage and charming..if I can find a good price of DVD for the whole episode I'm going to buy and keep it! I definitely recommend this manga drama to you !! thumb up!! For now let's enjoy the Opening song..You also can find the drama in youtube in various language or subtitle.

New Toy for Mishu?

First of all ,let me wish "Happy Father Day" to all the father out there☺♥☻♥..Mishu plan to make breakfast for her daddy.She said it's secret! ahaha!

Almost everyday Mishu keep barging me to get her the dancing game(Wii game system).She doesn't know how to pronounce Wii yet! Well,yesterday I went to Target's to get her Wii game system in bundle.Nintendo released a new black in color Wii console which I like compare to white color..In addition I get extra another Wii Remote Controller Motion in pink color.

The whole bundle with Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board and console cost BIG $400!! The dancing game was out of order and the sales person make a rain check for me because it's comes with another games for FREE..I have to go back to Target to get the dancing game which Mishu really want..

when daddy heard that the whole bundle cost more than $400 ,he comment that he afraid spending that kind of $$$ going it's to waste coz Mishu not going to use all the time..he don't mind spend that kind of $$ as long as Mishu fully utilize the system..Honestly what daddy said it's true!! Mishu only play her game once or twice,then she just stuff her toys under her bed like the rest of her dollies..We bought her a Fisher-Price game last Christmas,she only play less than 10 times and now it's history! The main reason for me to get her this Wii system is for her to lost weight.☼

I selected a pink remote controller for Mishu..this remote controller cost $49.95..I think all products by Nintendo's is all price control..Every where is the same price.Its doesn't matter where we get it in store or online..all the same!!

I just renew our pool membership and enroll Mishu in swimming lesson again for this summer..Now I'm thinking did she really have time to use this Wii system? Or should I return this system and see how she doing with her swimming lesson? Maybe if she really want Wii Fit again,I can get her during winter season since she stay indoor all the time..Who know Nintendo's will release something new or different again..right? What do you think?

well,since Mishu saw the whole Wii bundle at home, I use this to make her to clean her room..but she request that after she clean her room,she want to play Nick JR 's games online..I think she don't really have the idea that Wii system can play games or exercise beside "dancing" as she said all the time!

look at all her toys under her bed!! I told Mishu to clean and re-arrange her toys in the baskets or plastic containers provided..Usually she will cry first whenever I asked her to clean her room but not this time,coz she know after cleaning her room she is going to play Nick Jr games online!

Mishu loves to collect trash like her daddy..She thought everything she bring home is GEM!!

she never put back her hairs accessories or custom jewellery in the same spot she took..even thought I provided her containers
she started cleaning her room since 12 noon and now almost 6 pm,she she cleaning.. I told her to throw away her toys if she not going to play or use anymore..Bought her a set of mini golf,she didn't even play once and now under her bed attached with hand mirror!
I go to check what she doing so long...she playing piano with music on..she keep saying she almost done..but the room still look the same to me!

told her after cleaning her room ,she need to clean her art stand!

now it's time for mommy to get a new book shelf...some of the cook book sitting in kitchen chairs and table..I think it's time to stop buying cookbook...♫♫♫

Birthday Party and Birthday Party!!

Gosh!! This is something new to me!! Mishu is just attending Pre-K but almost every month she have Birthday party invitation from her classmate.I guess kid these days are different from my generation..I recalled when I was young ,I never or hardy get any cake or gift for my Birthday and I never dream of getting a Birthday party.A birthday party? That is out of question for us!! Well,I guess our parents are busy dealing with their work,trying to put food on the table for the family and to organize a Birthday party for their children is not a trend and out of question ...All I can said is today kid are so lucky!! no matter what is the financial situation their parents still organize a Birthday party or get a gift or have a cake for them..

Mishu was invited to a Science Center for her classmate Birthday party..At first I went to Gymboree to buy a set of clothes for the Birthday boy..But when I show to daddy ,he disagree with my choice..He said the reason why the party is held at Science center is that Birthday boy must like Dinosaur..Secondly boy don't like clothes,they rather have toys than clothes..So I ran back to return the clothes and bought a T-Rex Dinosaur from Walmart

another weekend we was invited to another girl birthday party at our neighborhood..the birthday girl is 9th year old ..I think for a 9th year old girl,she prefer clothes rather then barbie doll,right? these day it's hard to get the right size clothes for girl .Mishu's clothes size is triple her age,so I better get her a gift card from the clothes store instead then shopping for her,right?

Visit Taiwanese-America Art Festival

On Memorial weekend Mishu's was invited by her Chinese school principle to a local college for Taiwanese-American Art Festival..Her Chinese school's principle is one of the college Math's lecturer and the member of Taiwanese -American Association in LI. Since it's Memorial weekend Mishu don't have class for her Pre-K and Chinese school ,I would like her to experience or see some art from Chinese culture..At least she know or have idea what is Chinese art

next we hop over to a dough figurines section
we arrived quite late ,so mostly the dough was destroy and mess up..Mishu try to patch whatever dough she can find on the table to make a Panda..with the instruction .
this is not play-doh material make figurines..Actually the artist make those figurines from dough!!
Can you guess which one of these figurines did Mishu choose? Bunny!! I have no idea why she choose the pinky bunny!!
these group figurines is really look good and well made.. this figurine guy work so fast and he beautifully shape the figurine..
next Mishu hop to the mask painting section..Everybody has done with their mask painting...The instructor told me how to paint the mask.He said she should paint the background first but Mishu refused to follow the instruction,she just whack whatever color she can find on the table..
After spending about 2 hours at this college,we headed to the nearest shopping mall....Overall it's worth going to this art festival for Mishu..
She is a happy camper when going home with her apple candy and Bunny figurine..

Tooth Fairy Visit and Dinner

Did you know what is Tooth Fairy or the story behind Tooth Fairy? Well as for me ,I heard of the words tooth fairy but didn't really know the real story and detail about this fairy. Check here for the info. Then when the day come,Mishu lost one of her baby tooth 3 weeks ago..She told us her bottom baby tooth was shaking ..that right!!! it's really wobbly!! after 1 week one of her bottom baby tooth fell off..oh yea!! now I remember, that day was Mother Day!! mommy was not at home but daddy send a photo of her bare gum to mommy via cell phone photo..

Mishu teeth still looking good ,right? I wonder why her baby tooth fell off so early..she just finish eating mango...you see can see the yellow stain on her teeth..

she keep telling us that her tooth was bleeding..did you see the bleeding tooth?

the tooth that slanting inward was the tooth that fell off..
after 2 week,here comes the new tooth..OK..let me tell you what had happen when Tooth Fairy visit.. after Mishu's mommy come home at nite on Mother Day,daddy show mommy Mishu's baby tooth that fell off..Daddy told Mishu tooth fairy is going to visit her tonight..Long story short,mommy prepare $5 in a small ziploc bag together with fell off baby TOOTH and slip under Mishu's pillow.In the morning Mishu found the $ with tooth and keep yelling "Tooth Fairy" was here!! She show the ziploc bag with tooth and $$ to her daddy.. Her daddy was shocked when looking at the $ with baby tooth!!..He said it's must be "Malaysia Tooth Fairy" came to visit! ahaha! what? then I wonder why daddy said that remark....He said I shouldn't put the baby tooth together with the $$$.Tooth Fairy supposed to take away the baby tooth and leave the $$$..Aiyo...mommy have no idea that Tooth Fairy suppose to take the tooth away and just leave the $$ for her...pardon my 1st experience and didn't read story about Tooth Fairy lor.Actually it's quite embarrassing because it's Mishu 1st visit from tooth Fairy and her mommy screwed up the whole Tooth Fairy tale for her!! So for now onward she will think when Tooth Fairy visit her ,her baby tooth will be there too:( Daddy asked when my tooth fell off when I was young what our parents gave us or any special stuff or story? Told him my culture is when our tooth fell off,we have to throw our tooth to the roof..Reason? I forget what is the reason..can anyone tell me why we do that?

Last week ,daddy suggested we should go for an Italian dinner at his favorite restaurant ,savianos .We been there almost every month but usually I forget to bring my camera but on that day I promise to myself that I should bring my camera along..As usual,Mishu help herself with house bread..it's unusual for Italian restaurant serve plain pizza dough as their bread..

for me,I not really interested with this type of bread..it's super hot,just come out from oven!! Mishu and daddy love it!
Daddy is camera shy! hahah!..Actually he don't like his photo taken..Did you see him sweating especially on his forehead?
as usual I order Malibu Bay Breeze,my favourite cocktail!

daddy like Long Island Ice Tea...I dunno why he like LIIT!! I guess maybe he is a Long Islander..For me I still prefer some sweetness side cocktail.. Long Island IT have too much liquor and taste strong too.I remember it's must have 7 liquors with a splash of coke.white rum,dark rum,gin,vodka,tequila,triple sec and sour mix..

as usual daddy order his Penna Supreme..this Penna really taste great!! very creamy and tasty! ♥

mommy order a piece of Grandma pizza for Mishu..This restaurant serve great pizza..the dough is super thin and the sauce is delicious!!

since this Seafood Pesca pasta is really huge,Mishu and mommy share this portion..The moment daddy start taking his 1st bite on his Penna,he have to run back to the car to enjoy the AC,said the restaurant AC is not cold and weak..For mommy the temperature is alright..but daddy can't stand it ,he keep sweating and sweating...ahahaha!

We both finish our seafood pasta until lickin finger but have to pack away daddy's Penna home for him..poor daddy..He apologize for leaving us alone to dine..I would love to know what they use in the red sauce..but I don't think they going to tell me their recipe,right? as the called their "secret ingredients or recipe"!!

Visit Asian-American Festival at SBU

Mishu's Chinese school took part in Asian-American Festival at Stony Brook University 2 weeks ago..Again this weekend we was at another Taiwanese-American festival organised by her Chinese school at our local college.Before I get to this week festival which is quite interesting,let me show you what we saw when attending Asian-America Festival at SBU..

Mishu prepare to visit the festival...embark our journey...it's took mommy 20 minutes to drive there coz never been to SBU before. but her mommy took some wrong turn and end up plus extra another 5 minutes..

so Mishu pose some super nice posing first before entering the Wang Center when entering the center we saw plenty of stall display different culture with their merchandise from their country ..This stall is from India..

then we also saw alot of pamphlet and flyer on the table stand given out to visitor to promote their country.

this pretty lady wearing pink Hanbok...and more colorful Hanbok on display.Well,hanbok is Korean traditional costume..They also given out plenty of tourism flyer like where to stay ,where to go and what to eat in Korea..since I'm addicted to Korean drama,I have to grab each of the pamphlet for future reference..who know one day I might go to Korea to visit..my favorite kdrama idol!! hahaha!

next there is a show on the stage.Woman show different costume from different part of China ..

Honestly, I only see this kind of costume from drama or movie..I recalled in 80's ,TVB make some super great unforgettable historical drama.All the actress wear this kind of colorful costume....no wonder China history was so rich..until today people still looking and study their history..

OK.... now is the time for Mishu's school children to perform..Actually Mishu didn't join the rehearsal coz her teacher think she is too young to participate with the rest of the children for group singing..but at last minutes when her teacher saw her standing next to the stage,she told me to let Mishu join the group.I think Mishu feel awkward and shy when facing so many people/audience...you can see her standing like a statue...

I asked her why she refuse to smile or acknowledge others ..she said she shy!! WHAT!! SHY?? she talk non-stop at home but at public..she just shut down!! *sigh*

next we visit the temporary eatery place which they set up at the basement..Mishu is so afraid of the spiral staircase..she must hold to the railing tight and take her own sweet time to come down..

next we visit Target!! Summer is almost here!! so we have to prepare for summer stuff,right? Mishu need a pair of summer sandal with buckel..she has plenty of flip-flop but she can't wear flip -flop to school or any special function,right?

Mishu had toothfairy visit her 2 week ago..did you see her lower front teeth missing? talking about toothfairy I have funny story to tell..but in another post coz this entry has too much photos and now I get tired plus sleepy too.....I promise I will post the entry ASAP..

as usual Mishu loves to try on high heel and woman shoes...I notice Mishu is quite a good gal..When I said I'm going to buy her dress or shoes ,she always tell me"mommy we had that at home already"!! pointing to the item I intended to buy.. Even when I want to buy some grocery or goods when I food shopping with her,she always remind me"mommy we still have that at home"! now I think it's actually her mommy who love to shop!! her mommy can't resist not buying! bad mommy,right? haha!

Beautiful Flowers in my Garden

Well,it's been a while since I post some Spring flowers plants from my garden.This year my garden is full of beautiful,colorful and interesting flowers..I was suprised some of the flower (annual) come back again from last summer.If you're wondering what is the different between annual and perennial,check out here here!!

I display 1/2 of the Flat(tray) and spread it to few little pot before display on the metal stand on my deck .I also get some petunia and impatient to mix with pansy..did you see the mum in the middle of the rack? it's was from last summer..amazing it's came back !!

I tried to save few pots of annual Hibiscus from last summer but it's look dead to me now...maybe my garage is too cold during winter..

I moved some Iris from the border and plant around the oak tree...

my Iris garden:Purple and yellow Iris growing strong and colorful...it's come back every year...no maintenance needed, maybe just add some compost to cover the expose bulbs after winter if necessary..

Eliot asked me to remove all the plants from the staircase..He said if someone come and fall on our staircase bcoz he or she can't get hold of the railing when climbing up or down the staircase,they going to sue us.!! aiyayaya.....

Shopping at Flushing

We was in Flushing,Queens 2 weeks ago .Actually Eliot have to go to Queens for his seminar and he want me to drive him there,as we know looking for parking in the city is really pain in the axx ,not to said it's time consuming too! While waiting for him,we went for food shopping nearby.It's been awhile since I visited Flushing .I would love to get some grocery ,fresh fruit and perishable .

we walk around Main St and along Roosevelt Ave after found a parking spot .

Flushing is the second biggest Chinatown after Chinatown in Manhattan.In this Chinatown it's also consist of Korean town .

I was looking for all Korean grocery store..I know there are few Korean grocery store at Northern Blvd but it's out of the way for me to go there..beside traffic at rush hour is really bad.

when I was walking along Main St ,suddenly a long time friend jump in front of me and said "hello"..We chat for a while.Then I asked her whether she know any Korean grocery store around the area since she live in Flushing.Of course she know...she even told me the exact location..

Taiwanese cold cut(mostly braised tongue,knuckle, intestine of chicken pig ,beef and duck) ,soup and vegetable dishes sell a long the side walk.

if I live in Flushing,I think my kitchen can closed 80% of the time!!

it's so convenience to get any kind of food ,anywhere and anytime in Flushing..

I found a Korean eatery along Kissenna Blvd...would love to try Korean food after watching so many Kdrama..but Mishu refused to go in..*sigh*

First of all ,I would like to wish all the dearest mother out there and my beloved mom a "Happy Mother Day"!! I like this quote,so would like to dedicated this quote to all the lovely mother!! "Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. ~Author Unknown"..It's very true no matter how old is our children,they are still forever a baby/child in their mom eyes!!

actually I would like to post a longer entry with plenty of photos and story in this post but due to time limit now( 2.05 am EST),I better make a short entry in order to get my beauty sleep soon coz tomorrow is a long day for me...have a special assignment to do ^:^ ..but before I go ,let me post some hot from oven photo of Mishu I know my mom love flowers especially tulip...so this afternoon I request Mishu to pose with my last batch of blooming white tulip ....for you "ah mah" said Mishu.

hmmmm.....she act like the flower smell good but actually tulip doesn't release fragrant at all!!

next she pose with a double impatient plant which I have to buy from her Chinese school. sort of charity...or fund for the school.. she loves the water sprinkle!! whenever I water plants she will run over to the sprinkle to get herself wet!! goofing around!!

Look what I have here!! Precious or I called Gem plants for me!! I know,I know... in Asia these plants are everwhere,abundant and cheap but here in US and A these plant is like a GEM!! I can't find this hardy plant in any nursery here . I would like to said thank you again to "G" for getting me these precious tropical herbs plants..domo arigato!! kamsiah!! gracias!! love all the way from Chicago....love you!! "G" email me said she found curry left plant in her local nursery and ask me if I would like to have it..She know I love to cook..Of course ,I took her offer and ask if she can find kaffir lime too..alamak!! like people said I give one inch ,you ask for one feet!! hehehe!

I think all Chinese or Asian home must have wok for stir-fry,right?...I dunno about you but I do have 3 woks,all in different sizes..I love this brand of wok:Circulon..it's made from hard anodize,won't easier get scratch,non-stick without Teflon and very heavy!! these day I won't buy any Teflon material pan coz I understand the prolong used of telfon material when cooking our food will occur cancer later on... actually I bought this 14 inch wok for my mom. I bought one myself 3 years ago and love it! when I was in Malaysia I can't find any good quality wok with affordable price I was looking high and low at all supermarket or department store but found none!! The only place in Malaysia that sold Calphalon's ware is Isetan but the price there is really outrageous and expensive even after convert to USD!! maybe 5 times more!! Circulon and Calphalon are from the same parent company.....I think the original price of this 14 inch wok is $100 but I bought it on the "One Day Sale " at Macys.Macys sale price for thos wok is at $39.99,on top of the sale price I can use $10 discount coupon..so the finally price is only $29.99...not bad...eh? now the problem is how to carry this huge wok with long handle to Malaysia?*start using my imagination or cracking my head*

Follow up from last post here!!.As I promised to show you what we had bought for Mishu at Toys Ur's ,unfortunately the item we bought still in the box in garage,didn't set up yet !! so no photo until then. Actually we bought a swing set for Mishu at Toys Ur's but the swing set is still completely untouch in the boxes waiting for Mishu's daddy to set it's up*sigh*. It's been 2 weeks since we bought the swing set and I hope Mishu can enjoy her new swing set before the summer is OVER!!! *hint*

The moment she come back from school,she must hop on her cycle with Minnie.Told Mishu to graduate from her 4 wheels cycle to 2 wheels cycle but she still not dare to ride her 2 wheels cycle.

Spring is the time for gardening,cleaning and planting...look what I do to this poor plant!! I removed almost dead rose plant from ground to container for a return.In US and A all nursery store guaranteed plants up to a year . If your plant happen to die on you,you can always send it back to the store for full refund. last year I bought 4 plants of roses on sale .Unfortunately 2 plants survive and 2 doesn't*die on me*. This rose plant doesn't look good...eh? today I reconfirm with Lowe's again about the return policy bcoz I don't want to look for the receipt .They told me they can look at the history of the credit card I used when I purchase this plant or they can just scan using the container bar code..
buy more plants on sale again!! good deal at Lowe's!! Lowe's have better price than Home Depot.Their weekly sale is really awesome!! prepare to re-pot all the plants.

my oregano always come back every year without fail.I moved some of this herbs from the other side of the lawn and now it's grown bigger and greener at the vegetable bed!!

I'm going to share with you some Spring flower in my garden here!!I think this year the Spring season came too fast,right? all the flower in my garden are blooming and wilting now..
this hedge or plant or shrub called Forsythia.Usually people use this plant as hedges for their border.

the yellow flowers come before the green leaves..you can see the leaves take over Forsythia by now. actually it's quite a beauty..

some of the bulbs I planted last year didn't make it...maybe was eaten by squirrel...huh?

"where are you going to put all your toys?" hmmm...well ,thinking about it now,it's really a big problem !!

I also bought some baking pan from Christmas Tree Store and Tuesday Morning store nearby..if other people dunno me they thought I look like a pro-baker,right? hehehe!
saw some Coach bag at 70 % off...grab this sling...isn't the color too striking or colorful?

anway ,asked Mishu opinion about this bag,she said alright and good!!..actually I never own any Coach product before... if I changed my mind later maybe I can return back to Macy's or maybe I can just give it to Mishu..

Outing at East End and Mini Golf

Bad news!! I try to change this blog template again(I should leave as it's)*knocking my head now*..This time I decided to change to something cute and colorful but unfortunately something went wrong!!*yea,I screw up again* I try to understand the html code in order to correct the double posting.As you know I know nothing about computer software,hardware or html code or etc. All I know is just login in to use Internet.Since I changed to this new template,I realised after the 3rd posting,it's come back to double posting again.I wonder what went wrong.*sigh* Then I try to change back to my old template or other new template but the double posting still occur!! hmmmm....now my patience run thin..*huff* OK..let's forget about my double posting for awhile... I will figure out later if I have mood or idea...

Last weekend I suggested to daddy we should drive to East End for a family outing since we didn't bring Mishu away for a mini vacation during Spring Break.While on the way we saw a mini golf club and I would like Mishu to give a try at the mini golf.But she refused to come down from the car. She have this kind anxiety "refuse to acknowledge or wanna to try anything new".We keep persuade her to come down from the car.We even have a 10 year old boy who is with his father park next to us,told her it's really cool and fun playing at the mini golf but she just ignored them. I wonder why Mishu have this problem.When I bring her to register at her Kindergarden school,she refused to acknowledge anyone,just shut down and sitting at the corner herself.When I asked her why she refused to said "hello" to the lady who took her register papers,Mishu said she SHY!! Shy?? hmmm...then we have problem bcoz her kindergarden teacher need to screen her this coming June,to know how much she know or what is her ability to understand words or sentence.If she shut down during the screening ,it's going to have negative impact on her!! Maybe her teacher going to place her is slow learning class ,I guess.

We stop at Greenport..during summer this spot is really cool, full of Harley's bikers hanging around the pub and street with their bike

too bad it's still chilly and cold now,so the street was so empty

about 7 pm we decided to drive back,and have dinner at this Italian restaurant near our neighbour..we love this Italian restaurant,they pasta is really good!!

Spring Flower!!

Today is the 1st weekend Mishu attend her weekend class after 2 weekend off during Spring Break.Too bad during her Spring Break Mishu was sick with diarrhea and fever.Actually I plan for us to go away for few days..Mishu's grandpa offered us to stay a week at their Timeshares place which was paid in Orlando but unfortunately Eliot vacation and Mishu Spring Break was overlapped within a week,so we can't go anyway.Next year Eliot 's need to plan his vacation days match with Mishu school year calender,so it's easy for us to make any plan during Mishu's Spring Break,Winter Break or any break from school.

Mishu like to look left and right but not focus in front of the white board

each time her teacher wrote 36 Bopomofo Zhùyīn fúhào (phonetic system) on the board for them to review and later give them quiz too .But so far Mishu can only remember and write maybe 10 bopomo zhuyin -hanzi character注音符号
her teacher continue with other basic ,simple and easy character of hanzi the student have to write bopomo zhuyin on 12345678910 hanzi character.I find bopomo zhuyin is more harder then regular simplified Chinese character! well, maybe I used to see hanzi simplified character rather than bopomo
Ok..let see what I planted last year and now blooming!! love Hyacinth color and fragrant,better than Chanel 5 or Beautiful perfume!!Hyacinths are intensely fragrant.
