How Mishu look with her new glasses without glass? Mature?She keep asking me to buy her a glasses..Actually, I bought her couple of sunglasses from Kohl's but she want regular glasses..But since she not short or long sighted,why she needs glasses? My mom told me many Taiwanese drama actors or actress wear glasses without glasses becos it's a trend now..Daddy said this kind of glasses with frame only was trend back in 70's..Tell you a secret here,I also got a glasses like Mishu.We both asked daddy to removed the glasses..A pieces for $0.99,why not?

On the first day when she get off her school bus I asked"Mishu how is your day"? She reply" some of my classmates keep saying I wear FAKE glasses"!! I told her don't be bother of what others told you,as long as you feel good that matter!! Then how about you tell them it's a fashion now..

Then the second days after she get off from school bus ,I asked the same question again.."how is your day?" she said a boy from her school bus keep saying she wear fake glasses..Then daddy assure her nothing is wrong with her glasses..Then how about tell the boy,he also can get one if he feel left out or he dunno fashion..Mishu said NO ,she won't said it becos it's mean..*sigh*

actually, I like how her glasses look..we encourage her to talk back to those who said mean or hurt stuff to her but this gal is so timid and shy but she said it's not nice to said that back.** Pulling my hairs**

this year I will only get summer plants for my garden from sale only.. beginning of the month ,Lowe's had promotion of hanging basket for $5 each..I bought 8 hanging baskets of the various plants like Dragonsnap, Impatient,Pansy,Petunia and etc..

I always wonder why Apple fan gal or fan-boy love their gadgets dearly..So far in our household,we only have a iPod and it's belonged to Mishu.We don't have iPhone or i mac or iPad.Why?? becos we think we don't really needs this kind of gadgets.We can live with or without this kind of gadgets.I suggested to Eliot to get a iPhone or smart phone but he refuse to pay $30 a month for data package..In return, he said if I want a iPhone he will get for me.Why me? We have a laptop and 2 desktops at home.Furthermore,I'm a stay home mom,I don't need to spend extra $30 a month for me to surf online when I'm out of the house.Any matters can wait until I get home if I want to go online except watching my kdrama!! lol!

most of the time while waiting for Mishu at her dance class or Chinese school,I will bring her iPod with me to watch live kdrama.One day, I accidentally found out that her iPod can received free and strong WiFi connection if I stay at store area like Walmart parking lot or strip store area..Isn't great?? Actually long story short,we subscribed Optimum Triple 3 for our home Internet..So in order to me to get a good connect watching kdrama on Mishu's iPod,I used my Optimum account and password to login for the free service, provided if Optimumwifi is around the area,I have no problem to get connected..

I was surprised,I can watch live kdrama without buffering and the picture is crystal clear ,better than my laptop!! I remember I used to packed my laptop with me to my van while waiting for her..No wonder, Apple is so success!!

yes!! I'm watching Rooftop Prince !! there another reason for me not to get iPhone now,maybe in future who know? why not use something that is available everywhere and free??

the only thing we complained about Mishu's iPod is her battery ..The juice run out pretty fast..Maybe she play alot of games?? Anyway,I bought her a iPod car charger..After watching less then 30 minutes,the battery almost run out..

but if I continue to charge the iPod, I have no problem keep watching my Kdrama!!

it's pretty amazing,the 1 hour waiting time just fly by while I was entertained by a so call iPod!!

Mishu Bicycle Training

Two months ago I bought this 20 inch wheels pink bicycle for Mishu at Walmart.She insist to have training wheel attach on her bicycle but there none training wheels for such big wheels bicycle.Her dad promise to fix a training wheels for her but I deadly against it. If she have training wheels,she forever won't able to learn how to ride independently ,right? Anyway,couple of weeks ago I suggested we should start her bicycle training.We needs to encourage her to ride her bicycle,it's been sitting in the garage for months since I bought it.Our weather is nice and all she need is confident and guidance..Both of them went to baseball field and after 10 minutes daddy call home said she gave up!!He said I need to go there too..so they both come home to take mommy with them and go again..

she keep saying the bicycle is too high but it's not!! Mishu is already over 4 feet tall!!

Daddy told her if she need to stop or brake,all she needs to do is to pedal against the clock.

OK..let's go..

he teach her how to balance herself on the wheels first

then told her to pedal while holding her neck or shoulder

they being go around for 2 rounds circle

daddy thought she can ride now so he let her go.Eventually she fall down hard and was crying for good 10 minutes..We encourage her to go back to her bike again if not she won't ride her bicycle again since she was so afraid..After another round,we call for the day...

Spring Vacation Pt 3

April Flowers ,May Showers!! I still have plenty of our Spring vacation photos to post before I can talk about my gardening and the beautiful month of May..Anyway,I randomly select some of my hundred photos from my hard drive to post ASAP..

while our Loop and Hoop pass was still valid,we better make use of it until it's expired..On the second and third days,we go on the loop and hop again..

this type of annual plant can only survive 3 months during summer in Northeast coast..

but here in SF this type of plant can even grown higher and bigger..I guess this plant are over a year old.

children are free but each adult have to paid $3 entrance fee to tour this bakery

Spring Vacation Pt 2

let's continue our San Franciso trip..I plan for us to spend 4 days in San Francisco ,so we can visit all the tourist attractions in one go!! actually at last minutes I got a hotel offer from expedia at a very good price beside a great location even though the room a quite small but it's OK since spend most of our time touring outdoor.

our hotel is just a block from from Macy's and Saks 5th Ave

we bought 48 hours Loop and Hop bus tour.We can drop and hop at any attractions ,anytime within this period.It's comes with Alcatraz tour and Chinatown walking tour..

we just have to walk a block from our hotel to the bus hop which is in front of Macy's

Spring Vacation Pt 1

At last our Spring vacation in California posting is here!! First of all,I would like to start with our journey in San Francisco ..I took alot of pictures until my SD card memory run out and accidently deleted a whole bunch of my new pictures instead of the old batch one when we was in L.A!! ouch! I will tell you about the accident later when it's comes to the entry..We left home at almost 4.30 am and drove to LaGuardia Airport to take our flight..Our flight is at 6.30 am..By the time we reached La Guardia it's about 5 am.I parked at long term parking and we wait for shuttle to take us to the Central terminal but unfortunately all the shuttle bus was for the staffs only..So we decided to walk not wanting to waste time waiting but it's turn out we walk to the wrong direction!!! How can a quite large airport didn't have any sign indicate the direction to which terminal or flight from the long term parking??And we can't even ask for direction since there is nobody or no worker on the street at 6 am!! And it's frigging cold!!

we barely make to the TSA screening area..after hu-ha hu ha..we was able to settle down in our seats since we didn't check in our luggage and I have boarding pass printed at home and ready to go..Everyone on the flight have a carry-on bag with them!! why not? since all carriers charge $30 per check -in luggage .We have to transit at Ohare Airport,Chicago.Luckily ,I bought our tickets 1 month in advance ,consider it's Spring break season when we travel the price is quite reasonable..but again every states have different Spring break schedule..

Told her that we travel domestic flight not International flight.And told her that nowadays all carriers in States don't serve food coz it's sucks!.She still think about the service we got when we travel to Malaysia or HK or Korea or Bali..

The location of our hotel is very good,near to everywhere!! the downside was the room is quite small ..

after check-in ,we quickly hop to the next block at one of the sushi restaurant to enjoy our lunch

I think most of the Japanese restaurant here owned by Japanese not like in New York 80 % owned by Fujianise from Mainland or Chinese.Of course ,not to said the price is slightly high compare with price at NY restaurants.

we stayed 4 days in SF and eat 3 times sushi!

Pollen Allergy and School Photos

Yes!!we came back from our spring vacation and we had great time especially Mishu.I would love to post our spring vacation photos but for now I will just post some of Mishu's photos taken from her school.Mishu and mommy both severely suffer from pollen allergy .I know we suffer from the yellow fine pollen from oak trees.As long as the flowers or atkins, look like long worms hanging from the oak tree ,we will keep suffering until the fell off the tree.After the stamens release pollen into the air, the catkins fall to the ground or gone we are going to be OK.We 're going to suffer for 2-3 weeks.Right now both of us have hay fever,sneezing,watery eyes and running nose.It's not fun at all.I have hate and love relationship with Spring season..

I would like to dedicate this entry to my beloved mom in Malaysia.The reason is she love Spring flowers dearly but unfortunately Malaysia weather won't allow this kind of plants to grown there unless you live in highland.Hope you guys have a nice time enjoying my virtual garden tour here!! Enjoy!!

I bought 3 pots of Easter Tulip from a Farm Market ..3 pots for $10..good deal...huh?

this type of force tulip is only suitable to display indoor becos they were force to bloom early then regular outdoor tulip.

I like this kind of cut flowers for our home.I dunno what is the scientific name of this flowers but they come all the way from South America .

They will last for almost 2 weeks in the water..quite tough..huh? The price is very reasonable..A bunch which consist of 10 stalk cost only $3.99!!

Hello and Birthday Party with Lorax

I apologize to those dearly readers ,friends and family who have been constantly checking this blog for a new update .Like many others, I’ve been taken by the “Linsanity” storm these days. It doesn’t help (or does it?) that I have the hots for the man himself – Jeremy Lin. Yes, I’ve watched every single one of his interviews and games .The more I learn about him, the more I’m impressed. But seriously, I really need to stop crushing on younger men!!hehehe!! Technically we share the same ancestor (we share the same last name so to speak).. I used to watch NBA every single games for many many years ago but stop until last couple of years.The reason is I 'm crazy chasing every kdrama that came along.Long story short, nowadays whenever Knicks games going on I must record it for Eliot.He is not a basketball fan but becos of "Linsanity" he so keen to watch each Knicks game now .I was surprised he want to watch basketball with me..I think I need to narrow out or limit my kdrama since I can't find time to do others chores:Spring cleaning,yard cleaning,gardening and etc..Last weekend Mishu was invited by her classmate to a Birthday Party at a nearby theater to watch Lorax.On the same day we was invited by Eliot's cousin to celebrate his aunt 77th Birthday in NYC.

parents need to get their own tickets but pop corn and drink are free flow

at The End of the movie I tried to snapped few clips without using flash or auto.

we likes this movie by Dr Seuss.The main storyline of this movie is telling our children that our mother earth needs TREEs or plants to live in order for us to survive..

after watching this movie Mishu keep saying recycle this and that!!

few days ago when I was clearing our yards,chopping few small spiky trees away with machete ..Mishu said this to me "mommy why you cut the tress?? Lorax will get angry"!! lol!

at last all the children sing a Birthday song for the Birthday boy and given a piece of Lorex cuppie and orange color beach pail as goody bag.

forget to switch back my camera to "auto"..that why the photos look so "blur....."

Ok..now this look better...huh?

after the movie,we have to rush home and get ready to go to Manhattan to attend another Birthday party..

actually the travelling distant within east and west Manhattan is not too bad..but the traffic is really killing us....especially the traffic lights stop!!

here is the pretty gigantic cake Eliot's cousin order for the Birthday gal: Guava Cake..I think it's about 10 pounds..Personally, I think this cake is too sweet and the sponge texture is too rough....but the rest of the relatives love it!! Maybe I'm too picky or maybe I still not used to "western" cake taste..By the time we reach home it's almost 11 pm...a very long and a tired day.

OK...now back to watch NBA:Magic vs Heat..very close game today..yesterday both teams play at Orlando and today they play at Miami.back to back game...quite intense and fun to watch..

Mishu's Pet and Spring Plants

It's been awhile since I update this blog..life been hectic since NBA(National Basketball Association) started.lol!!(I must kidding,right?)Added to watching NBA,watching kdrama and Mishu's Winter break,for me to find extra time to update my blog is impossible!! Or maybe I lost the mojo? Well,let talk something about Mishu..Since she came home from Malaysia vacation,she keep asking for pet..The only pet she allowed to have is goldfish.She doesn't even bother to feed her gold fish after she got it!! now she dare to talk about having pet!! phweee!!

look what happen to her goldfish after a couple of month!!! a dead fish,right?? well,since the tank is so small,she needs to change the water every alternate day but this girl doesn't care.The guy at the pet store told us that goldfish produce a large amount of waste both in their faeces and through their gills, releasing harmful chemicals into the water. Build-up of this waste to toxic levels can occur in a relatively short period of time, and can easily cause a goldfish's death.

after her goldfish is dead this girl cried...she refused to let me took her ugly crying face!! facing away while I took her photos!!

so the next week ,Mishu and mommy went to Petco to buy a new bigger aquarium tank and few more goldfishs..

Each time we visit pet store she must get something for Benny and Blackie!! She keep telling people Benny and Blackie is her dog which is half globe away!!

This Petco store have everything you can name for your beloved pet.

she want to get treat for Blackie and Benny too..but told her next time when she visit Malaysia we can bring a carton of the special treat for them becos sending by mail is extremely expensive .

How is the new aquarium look?? look better with filter ,lights and pebbles right?

The first trip we went to the Petco to buy the tank ,the stand for the tank and chemical.The guy told us to let the clean water stand for a day or two before we get a new fish.So after 2 days we went back to get the goldfish but at another store(Pet Smart) since we are out shopping bcos the pet store is next to Macy's.I don't bother to go to Petco again.The guy who help us at Pet Smart said for a 10 gallons fish tank ,2 goldfishs is overcrowded.Mishu was so discourage after hearing that..She said she prefer Petco or she want to leave right away!!ouch!! I managed to get one goldfish for her..She keep saying that the goldfish that I bought at Pet Smart doesn't belonged to her,it's belonged to ME!! lol!!Then last weekend we went to a Petland,and get another 2 smalls goldfish..As Mishu said 4 in a family!! Daddy said I spoil her!

Last couple of morning the weather at our area is really nice..I was surprised that all my Spring plants came out so early..I guess we have to said goodbye to winter soon!!

This winter we are really lucky,so far we only had 2 snow falls which is not bad at all.Save $$ and energy!!

I planted few packets of premium quality lilies in vases and planters end of last summer.Some of the bulbs was eaten by squirrels or chipmunks around our backyard.cis!! bad pest!!

Bought another 2 packs of perennails at BJ's at $9.90 each.

and not to forget some vegetables too!!

this chubby gal face look so different from month to month..We can't believed she grown up so fast!!She said "mommy it's NOT nice to said that"!! she means the chubby part!! lol! Since daddy lost more than 60 pounds,maybe it's high time Mishu and mommy try to shed some pounds too since summer is coming fast!!

Lunar New Year 2012 Celebration

A very belated entry of our Chinese New Year celebration post. As usual we tried to celebrate Chinese New Year as much as we can .Too bad this year Lunar New Year fall in regular school day.One of my long time friend invited us to meet in Queens for lunch on the weekend.She bought some gift for Mishu while ago as Christmas present but don't have the opportunity to give her until now.We had lunch at one of the best Shanghai restaurant in Flushing.The food is not bad ..while having lunch a group of Dragon dance team came in and we have the chance to look at the dragon dance at near.Mishu keep saying it's not real dragon dance! lol!

after lunch we went to a temple to pray.

a newly open food court in Flushing..the location is not bad..now I know I can meet friends here to hang out..

we spend almost a whole day in Queens .We visiting 3 different friends in near by area..By the time we came home it's almost 10 pm..Mishu collected plenty of "ang pow" (red packet contain money) she know what is "ang pow" now....said she hope she can get more"ang pow" next year!! lol!

the next day we went to celebrated Lunar New Year at Taiwanese America Association in Long Island.Mishu's Chinese school affiliated with this association.

it's a pot luck dinner.Mishu suggested that I cooked curry chicken for this dinner.So curry chicken we brought to the pot luck dinner.

Yesterday was Mishu's 7th year old "REAL" Birthday!! Mishu said she must have 2 Birthday:One is real and one is fake!! lol! I thought one is Lunar calendar Birthday and one is her regular Western calendar Birthday..You might wonder how Mishu can come up with 2 birth-date Birthday right? Over the weekend we let her choose her favorite food restaurant to celebrate her Birthday in advance because her "real" birthday fall on Wednesday which is school day and her daddy is working..So accordingly to her that celebration was a "fake" Birthday!!

Yesterday ,was her "real" Birthday..She requested your truly to make Angry Birds cake or cupcake on her "real" Birthday.Your truly was busy preparing the challenging cuppies fondant decoration, didn't have time to decorate her Angry Birds Birthday theme before she come home from school.But later your truly promised to take her to Mc Donald for dinner after her dance class..

after her dance class Mishu brought few Angry Birds cuppies to her bff near our neighbor who is also a Angry Birds lover..Recently, Mishu attended her bff Angry Birds theme Birthday party at Laserland..

Few weeks back when Mishu and mommy went to CVS pharmacy to pick up some medicines we saw some skincare,makeup and health and body products on sales..We grab few makeup set,manicure set,and makeup tools that was on sales for 50% to 75% discount.Personally,I think going to manicure and pedicure treatment at the store is absolutely unnecessary and outrages expensive unless you really have important event to go to or plenty of $$ to throw away..that is my personally opinion..maybe I 'm a cheapskate when it's comes to paying for my personal beauty..Beside paying for the service which is about $20-25 ( the price also depend on the location) ,we have to pay for the tips for the service that was tender by the woman which range about 20-40%.By the time the completely french manicure was done it's cost more than $30-40!! Well,enough of my ranting..let's see what we done!! taaaa...dah!!

that right!! 75% off original price!! each package after discount is less than $3.00..the french manicure comes with 24 different size nails and glue.We both get few packages of each different type and shape of stickers and french manicure..

the only problem is that I don't like removing the cuticle ..that why you can see the skin around my fingernails is dry and peeling..

anyway,I think DIY french manicure at home is Priceless!!

Mishu was happy with her stickers on her nails..too bad the stickers came off after she took a shower.I told her to paint a layer of nail polish on the nail after stickers but she refused.

Over the weekend ,we brought Mishu to see Alvin The Chipmunk at the theater near us..She is Alvin The Chipmunk fan.Since we are Cablevision customer,we can get 30% off the ticket price on selected theaters.

This girl said when going to theater to watch movie we must get popcorn!! ouch!! typical American!! Did you know how much that bucket of popcorn cost?? a whopping $9.00!!

Dong Yuen,Gingerbread House and Angry Birds Cookies !!

Today is Winter Solstice or in Chinese it's called Dong Zhi.In Chinese culture, Tong Yuan or Dong Yuen is served on Dong Zhi .By eating tong yuan you welcome the winter and become one year older,my mom's said!!hehehe!! Since Mishu started her solid food 4 years ago,I been feeding her tong yuen..This year she volunteer asked for tong yuen..as always she described tong yuen as colorful balls!!

This year I decided to make tong yuen color from natural food ingredients ..Too bad I run out of time when making the rice balls,,the blue color is not really blue enough...I guess I didn't soaked the bunga telang (Blue Pea/Clitoria Ternatea)long enough to get the color out..

Last month Mishu's teacher requested parents to donate ingredients for the class to build Gingerbread house for the Christmas project..Parents was invited to help their own child to build the house..Of course ,Mishu dear mommy have to go and help her..

Shopping and Mishu...

Last weekend (Sunday)Mishu had ear infection..As always she need to see her doctor to get an antibiotic.I have to wait for Monday to make an appointment for her.It's useless to bring her to emergency room..I have to gave her some children painkiller to soothes her pain if not she screaming bloody murder the whole night..

The next day we was at the doctor office right after she came home from school.I made an appointment ASAP on Monday morning..I think her ear infection was not really bad that why she can still joking and playing in the doctor office.

she tried to be doctor,asking this and that!!

then the nurse come in,took her weight and temperature..

her doctor advised us to give her a flu shot...I was thinking,maybe I should do that soon.After leaving the doctor office we have to stop at CVS Pharmacy to pick up her prescription before going home.

Told my mom Mishu was sick and in pain(crying) because she refused to chat over the phone..My mom remind me that I should give her some Korean ginseng powder which I bought from Korea.Huh!! I forget about that already..Out of sight out of mind!! This gem is really expensive!! I bought a box of 6 years old Korea Ginseng powder and it's cost me over USD 450!! really !! no joke!! each box consist of 6 cans and each cans is about 100gm! literally speaking like eating gold! I heard Korea ginseng is really good for overall health.One of my friend told me Korea ginseng can prevent seasonal allergy..hope this is really true!! from last week, Mishu and mommy started drinking a large mug of Korea ginseng drink .I scoop 2 small tsp into a regular warm water ,mix well before drink it..Told Mishu treat this drink like Chinese tea..

Ms Mishu requested mommy to have all the Christmas lightnings in and out of the house to be up!! At first when we was on our way to her dance class she said this remark,"all the lights ON is wasting energy (looking at other people homes with pretty lightnings)but later when she wants all our lightnings up she said it's OK..not wasting energy!!lol!! freakier minded gal!

A very Angry Bird lover!! When we shop at the Mall few days back,a store want $20 for this hat!! He told me the original price is $25!! and he is giving me $20!! that really a cut throat price!

Last month we bought her Angry Bird winter hat at nearby Flea Market for just $10!!...today I asked Eliot to go with me to the Flea Market again to get more Angry Bird stuffs for her...maybe I should give her for Christmas or maybe for her Birthday?...hmmmm...let's see

Actually I wanted to buy a pair of waterproof snow boot but at last minute I have to buy 2 pairs of snow boots.I can't decided which one is better...Furthermore,I was in hurry ,no time to tried on because I had to come home ASAP to pick Mishu from her school bus..

My 1st own All-Clad stock pot!! I wanted to own a piece of All-Clad kitchenware for the longest!! and now I have it!! *hooray* The price is doable!! I found it at Clearance corner! The sale price was deducted from original price and on top of discount there is another 40% off from already sales price.Beside clearance 40 % ,I can use Macy's coupon to deduct again.The final price is about $60,not bad eh?

this was Mishu last weekend Chinese class...They allowed parents to seat at the back of the class to be an observant and be a companion for the student when they want to go to wash room.

Her teacher has started to teach them how to write Traditional Chinese characters beside BOPOMO...I was amazed that Mishu can really form the Chinese words using BoPoMo(Chinese phonetic)

will stop here now..tomorrow morning she going to her last Chinese class before holiday...have to wake up at 8 am:(

Happy Many Many Return,hubby!!

Actually I have many things or topic I wanted to talk here but my hands,mind and body are not co-operating(read:too lazy and deli-deli) .Once I sit in front of my computer,I will open 5-6 tabs..By the time I download from camera to hard drive and up-load all the photos to blog ,it's almost 3 or 4 am !! why? you must wondering,right? it's my Internet connection really slow or my computer is in bad shape? Well,I'm ashamed to said it's loud..My Internet connection is superb great!! we have very fast cable connection that is very steady and our wi-fi is superb powerful as well. The problem is ME!! while I was drafting the post I always wondering to other sites: listening or watching music at YouTube or making or checking my online payment or facebooking or checking email or replying email or watching drama or blog hopping or watching news at TV next to me!! Sometimes chatting over the phone as well..I know that is bad but bad habit always take over me!! OK let's talk about what happened last weekend.☺

Last weekend was hubby BIG Day!! His birthday is exactly 1 month after mine.We talked about our birthday and Christmas gift.We both decided not to get each other gifts base on our birthday or Christmas since we both shop or buy stuffs all year long.He loves to get his stuffs online especially Amazon ,eBay and etc while I loves to shop whenever there a sales..Talking about sales,today I just shop at Macy's.Of course, I bought stuffs for myself and home..Will talk about that in another post..

at first hubby suggested Spanish food for his Birthday dinner but on his Big Day he said he wanted Japanese food.. Coincidentally, I happened to know a new Japanese restaurant just opened near our home..

beside that the design and deco have high end taste

we was there before dinner hours..we wanted to bet the crowed and hubby was hungry and tired after work.

The hibachi section have many large and new hibachi tables on the other side of the restaurant..I like this arrangement,divided hibachi customers and regular sushi customers by the large section...if not end of our meal all our dress or clothes will smell smokey like the meat on the grilled table.

daddy was having salad with ginger dressing...if he not on special diet I don't think he will have this salad!! I remember he told me many times when I brought Japanese salad home that the ginger dressing taste awful!!

since father and daughter are sushi lover,all I ordered was maki (rolls)and sashimi!!

He didn't know I bought a birthday cake for his birthday cake when I was at Queens Chinatown 2 days before his BIG day!! I hided the cake in the garage's fridge.We all know he refused to have any dessert or sweet now.Did you see how much weight he lost? just look at his face!! look smaller,right? Sad to said but Mishu face look bigger than her daddy!! I'm a bad mommy,right? make fun of her own beloved daughter!

after singing Happy Birthday ,Mishu and daddy blow and cut the cake.. After much persuade daddy decided to have a small slice of his birthday cake..he said the cake is nice and delicious!! Of course,I bought it at Chinese Bakery instead of regular Western bakery here.I like Chinatown bakeries cake because they make their cake using sponge cake which is lighter and sugar was reduced..not like eating molasses!!!

My Precious Toy

I bought a DSLR Canon camera on Black Friday last year at Walmart..too bad I didn't do my research before bought it.The worst things was I didn't open or used the camera for months after purchase until I went to a photography class then I realized that my camera don't have video function. I can't return or exchange because electronic items have certain period for return or refund..I wonder why my Elph Canon 850I have "still live camera"(camcorder) and why this DSLR which is more high end and expensive don't have video function.."confused"..Anyway ,I decided to sell it at eBay since I'm not satisfied with what I got so far..I can add extra $$ to get a new DSLR camera I want instead..I know electronic items lost value fast since technology changing like nobody business..I heard a TV show said a 6 months item like phone ,Tv,player,camera and many more electronic gadgets in technology world is consider ancient already..Long story short,I listed my Canon at eBay for 10 days.2 days before closing date,someone email me the price she wanted(lower prices) but I refused to accept..I hardy used my camera,so there is no scratch or sign of tear and wear at all..Furthermore ,when I bought that camera I paid sale tax 8.625% on top of original price $475.But when I listed in eBay I just sell for the price I wanted without sale tax which make the buyer interested..Yesterday on the last day of closing I have 4 watchers(people who keep an eyes) on my Canon..5 hours before my listing ended ,I have 4 bids which was a good news to me..by the end of listing hour my Canon was sold and I received the payment $430 +$10 S&H via Paypal immediately which was great!! not a bad deal,right?

This evening, I quickly wrapped up all the accessories and camera in multiple boxes for safety delivery before mail it out ASAP!!

I was impressed with the power of eBay!! Honestly, I thought my Canon won't be sold that easily.. at least few more re-listing before it's can be sold..as we know electronic lost value fast and much more better model is coming into the market everyday..maybe I was lucky or maybe my eBay reputation is great....?? never mind...the bottom-line is my camera was sold!! I love you eBay!!Now my next step is to look for another DSLR camera..maybe I should explore other brand than Canon.....maybe Nikon??what do you think??

This afternoon Eliot come home and told me that when he paid his mother cell phone bill at Verizon Authorize store in BJ's wholesale,the sale person told him about their smartphone promotion,buy 1 get 1 FREE($99),get 2 GB of data,comes with 4 GB and it's only $30 extra to get the 4 G connection!!Furthermore,we can get $30 one time rebate if we renew our 2 years contract by this coming Monday..He brought back a flyer and said that we should upgrade our phone to this smart phone!!His phone is good for upgrade last year and mine beginning this August. He know that I always wanted to upgrade to iPhone but he said this deal is not bad.. Furthermore,he physically saw this smart phone at the store and he like it!!now is left for me to review this phone...I guess I have to said bye bye to my iPhone:(

Winter snow is coming soon..but before that we better clean up our lawn.Last weekend we tried to clean our yard but until now we still have plenty left undone.Daddy used his blower to blow all the leaves in piles while mommy have to packed all the leaves in a leaves bag for collection.Too bad we can't afford cleaner to clean our yard..actually I think it's good excuse or opportunity for us to do some exercise once a while during cold season..

sorry ..late posting of our Thanksgiving dinner..as usual our formal dining table is not big enough to placed all the food.We had Roasted turkey,mashed potato,sweet potato, spaghetti with rosemary ,shrimp and olive oil, Brussels sprout with bacon , string bean with tomato and bacon wrapped asparagus .We invited MIL for the dinner..After dinner I went out for Black Friday shopping at 9 pm until 3.00 am.That right you heard me right!! I was crazy ,you can said....waiting stupidly at Best Buy for 3 hours to get Mishu's Christmas gift..Well, some of you can said it's really not worth it but well...

for the past few weeks I re-watched few of my pre-teen favorite wuxia drama at YT..it's been almost 30 years since I watched it..It's like watching a new drama again...reminiscing my yesteryear...There are many remake out there but I still think the remake of this wuxia is not as good as this original one

I would like to wish Happy Thanksgiving to all my faithful readers ,friends and family!! Yes,we''re going to celebrate Thanksgiving dinner with roast Turkey,sweet potato,string beans , Brussels sprout ,mashed potato and some dessert!! Yes ,I'm going to be very busy cooking tomorrow!! Maybe I shouldn't cook that much since daddy is on-diet??And I'm not a fan of Mr Turkey!!hehe!!
Mishu last day of school was on Tuesday.They had Thanksgiving recites for 1st Grader and after the recites all the students are allowed to go home ..that means 1/2 day of school! *wonder why they let the kids out so early?*

parents are invited to see their children performance..Mishu decided to be Red Indian.We handmade her Indian costume with brown paper(clothes) ,dried pasta (necklaces)and feathers(hat)!

after their performance all the parents have to signed out their kid with their class teacher at their individual classroom.Some of Mishu work was pin at her classroom..All the 1st Grader have computer as one of their activities.All the students are given their own computer to do their work with the topic given by their teacher...*wondering why she didn't said her mommy is awesome?*

Mishu teacher send home an evaluation of her language skill development.She think Mishu have problem with her learning ...It's said NY State learning standard requires Academic Intervention if the kid is at the risk not meeting English Language Arts (ELA) standards.Well,since her teacher assess Mishu must have additional learning support ,I more than welcome to let her participate the learning program.

I must filled out the information sheet about her weakness to let her teacher understand her better and in a way to help her overcome her problem.I think Mishu problem is that she is a bilingual child.She sometimes forget or speak without thinking when she identified He or She when in English about man or woman,girl or boy.For Mandarin or Chinese speaker,when you talk about (He is 他) or (She is 她),there is NO different in (Tā) pronunciation unless when you write the Chinese characters.For example...when I said "I Love Him or Her" in Chinese you have to write 我愛他 or 我愛她 and orally you can said Wǒ ài tā, so tā can represent HIM or HER when talking about the person...yea..I know that tricky,right? Daddy keep saying Chinese is one of the most intelligent and smart human being in the earth,why can't they come out with something like ABC characters that easy to learn and teach instead of using tones.
daddy ...daddy..daddy...how to explain something so complicated to him?? Chinese culturalized almost 5000 years and they(the ancient Chinese) must have a reason why they do this way,right?

Well, so far I think this program help her alot..she can read better and use alot of high frequency words when talking.Her teacher had meeting with us ,said she improved alot and able to stand on her own doing works in the classroom..Hope her result in 2nd term of school is going to get better after the holiday..

I know some of you wanted to know especially my family over the other side of world..this year we did nothing special..but I did present myself with a set of Coach bag. .I never own any Coach handbag until last year..The one and only Coach bag I owned from last year (not used)was sold to my sister when I visited Malaysia..For the last 20 years my favorite handbag was LV's.Getting Coach instead of LV's can consider downgrade for me but what can I do since I'm a SAHM with no income:) Beggar can't be choosy,right? last Friday was Veteran Day..That mean Big sale day for shopper like me!! ..I figured Coach store at Outlet must have sale too..That right!! Mishu and mommy visited Tanger's Outlet nearby which is 35 minutes drive away(28 miles each way) to look for Mishu's winter boot,jacket and mommy handbag.Look what I found!!

I likes multicolored bag rather then black or gaudy color bag...this type of bag doesn't look boring right?

I bought a same design wrist let...the total is only $150 plus tax...not bad ..huh??

on my Bday daddy bought a giant cornbread muffin for me.sort of Bday.... I didn't bake or buy any Bday cake because everyone is on-diet except me!! hehe!!The fact is I'm not the fan of cornbread muffin..Daddy felt sad and disappointed,so the next day he bought another giant blueberry muffin from 7-11..well,told him the thought that count..Mishu helped mommy finished the Blueberries muffin..

We celebrated my Bday over the weekend at a Chinese-Japanese restaurant of my choice but too bad the food was suck big time.I didn't know that the restaurant changed it's owner...no wonder the food was suck! no mood to take any photos!!

after dinner we still plenty of time,so we decided to visited Lowe's to get a snow blower and Husqvarna chainsaw..Our must get items for the year!!! now we 're not afraid of snow storm anymore!! let's it's now,let's it snow!!

while daddy waiting for ready assemble snow blower at customer service,Mishu and mommy touring the Christmas decoration area..

how is daddy look? skinny and thinner,right? I really respect his dedication of weight lost method.He really control what he eat and drink.wish I can follow his lead...but I failed miserably!!

what do you think of Mishu new outfit? actually, I was looking for Christmas dress at Tanger's Outlet but can't find anything that look good and fit her..At last I found a peacock coat and 2 pairs of ballet shoes for her.This peacock coat by DKNY and on sale for $29.99!! very reasonable price plus the material is above my expectation!! of course, I have to get a size larger since she grown so fast..Told her that I have to get her a Christmas dress for photo shoot with Santa. Mishu exclaimed that she didn't want to take photo with Santa this year but daddy was horrified after hearing her idea.He said taking photo with Santa is a traditional and must for Christmas..
Frankly speaking, daddy never bring Mishu to any mass or Sunday mass at his Church..now he talked about traditional....*sigh* she been to temple more than I can count....too bad..
Black Friday is around the corner.. hooray!! have my check list ready!! hehe!! And tomorrow Macy's have early bird special until 1 pm,maybe I should drop by..who know maybe I can find Mishu's Christmas dress...that can fit her!!!.....

Do you want to know what Mishu was on Halloween? Actually I didn't know what is her outfit called or the character..The day before Halloween,we shop at Marshall discount store and Mishu decided to get this costume!! look below!!

my neighbor said it's a character in one of Johhny Depp movie.I don't watch much western movie so I have no idea...Mishu thought it's a witch,so she request her mommy to get her a broom and stewed pot!!! Stewed pot?? mommy said if she have stewed pot and broom while "trick& treating" then how is she going to carry all her candies,right? well, no stewed pot but she had pumpkin pot instead..

before we left for 'trickNtreat',one of Mishu schoolmate came to show Mishu his Halloween custome..both of them are "ANGRY BIRD" LOVER!! I bet his costume cost a "bomb'!! so far anything regarding AB is only sold online..

this year I didn't have mood to decorate for Halloween...so our house is just bare...

after the 2nd house Mishu complained her feet hurt...well,time to go back to change her shoes..

daddy said 7-11 have FREE slurplee for kids on that day.of course Mishu not going to miss the opportunity to get FREE slurplee!!..so after 1 hour trick n treat,we decided to call for the day bcoz the next day Mishu still have to go to school..

early on that day Mishu's school have Halloween parade..All Grade One student are required to make their favorite book costume for the parade..
at first Mishu want to make Angry Bird book...actually I did make Angry Bird costume sandwich board for her but at last minutes I changed my mind coz the teacher send a note home reminded us it's must be a story of a book..so far I understand "AB" is just a game ...I wonder why they didn't make "AB" book...hmmm
so Mishu favorite storybook was "SpongeBob Squarepant"!! sorry... her mommy is not creative..that the best she can do..

after the parade,all the student have to go back to their class to do some art work..

today let's talk about Mishu..actually ,i wanted to update my Malaysia vacation photos but I didn't even get near uploading all the photos at all.. Eliot said I'm having drama withdrawal..yea..maybe that true... every time whenever I finished each excellent and memories good drama I will have bad withdrawal.this time the drama had a very good story line and it's was a Taiwanese drama..i love all the ost in the drama..i even download all the songs in mp3 cd...if you;re drama lover like me,try this drama:Autumn Concerto.i guarantee you won't regret my recommendation.so far I found one of the most clear clips in HD @ here .......enjoy and let's me know if you watch it or what is your opinion..actually this tdrama was introduced by my sister when i visited Malaysia during summer..it's really funny ,each time when i visit my family in malaysia ,i will get hooked to different type of drama..the last time was Korean drama and now it's Taiwanese drama..Ok..let's talk about Mishu now..

Mishu was having fun time at her dance class on Tuesday.Her dance class celebrated Halloween party in advance because next Monday all her classmate from dance class refuse to go in for the lesson instead they are going for "trick & treat". Anyway,her dance teacher offered to come for Mishu alone but I said it's OK,she don't have to come for Mishu .Give her some slacked.I can replace her lesson to next Wednesday with another class which have lots student..Yeah.....I know that is not really a good idea to place her in too many student class but well....
the reason I choose Monday class is that the class is smaller than other classes .....well,now beggar can't be choosy,right?

I didn't know that I have to dress Mishu in Halloween dance costume..Mishu was quite upset when she see that she the only one who not dress up..but luckily she had Halloween thigh on..

Mishu told me that they didn't practice ballet dance,just tap dance only because they run out of time...I think they took the ballet dance time to celebrated Halloween party..

During the weekday,mishu school organised the 1st school field and i was a chaperon.

i think the reason for this field trip is to understand fall season and natural environment..all the students was looking at the worms under the rotten bark..

they was given some paper and crayon to write down they saw

we had to walked thru the trail looking for animals and different type of trees..

that is how the natural look!! eliot asked "do mishu have fun at the trip"? oh yea...she spend $10 looking at the same natural that we have at our backyard!! that sound funny ,right? of course, I have to let her join her classmate even it's cost $100!!

the instructor brief us what to look while walking : maple syrup tree,oak tree and root beer tree..now i know which tree produce rootbeer and maple syrup..

after having lunch and spend some time in the door tracing the leaves they found on paper....it's time to go back to school...so is mommy...go back home..

I was just watching this mv:Leehom Wang, HUO LI QUAN KAI 火力全開..lee hom is one of my favorite Chinese idol...I love few of his songs like wei yi(the only one)xin tou(heartbeat),love in disgust ost and many many more,,here i would love to share this mv with you...I found his new song kind of interesting and cool....the auto tone sound of this song sound like one of kesha song,i think..

Penang Vacation (Pt1)

Oh well !! Recently I know I'm a procrastinate person when comes to updating my blog.. actually looking back I forget some of the events in order...nevermind as long as it's posted thats count,right? OK..here I come..today let's me post an entry of our road trip to Penang..

The night before our trip we are invited to attended a temple's dinner by my 1st aunt.....Mishu gained so much weight during our stay in Malaysia...Did you see the round face?? all she want to eat is Curry Laksa and Hokkien mee(her version of black noodle)!!

beside dinner there is a live performance...one of the male singer really sing well..he can sing in female voice beautifully...

the food is acceptable...not a fine cuisine..I guess all temple dinner are same...just eat No complaint!

baby roast pig and many more....didn't take much photos becoz my sister said I embarrassed them by taking photos during dinner..I think it's 8 or 10 course dinner...we left before dessert is served..

the next morning we began our road trip to Penang ("The Pearl of the Orient", "东方花园")

it's took us 4 hours to reach our destination..I remember years ago it's took us 6-7 hours to reach Penang but nowadays with PLUS highway it's make our life easier!!of course ,we have to paid lots of TOLL!! Penang bridge...

as soon as we crossed the bridge, we stopped at Bayan Lepas morning market for brunch...relatives told us the food there is good!! I ordered a bowl of duck hor fun soup.

see Mishu tired face?? we left at 7 am...but she slept in the car...of course, she asked for cold ice coffee...the weather is really hot and humid !!

then I ordered a bowl of prawn noodle soup...

there are so many food and stalls in this market..

we saw a long line of people order Indian food,so my mom also went to order this plate of rice.The concept or idea we have is when you see a long line or crowded restaurant,the food there must be GREAT!!..whooo....this plate of rice cost 2 bowls of noodle soup...I dunno why Indian or Mamak food price is more expensive than Chinese food..

the prawn mee soup taste is so-so only..

this rice dish is not spectacular at all....just a regular Indian mixed rice..

Penang curry laksa is very different from KL's curry laksa...hate pig's blood!!every stall who sold curry laksa in Penang must throw some pig blood into their curry laksa....as you can see the curry laksa have lots of ingredients !! squid,fish ball,fried tofu and cockles.. just under RM 4!!

O-chen (fried oyster with eggs) this dish is really good!!

the 1st bowl of curry laksa taste sweet so I order another bowl of curry laksa from a different stall..but turn out both bowls of curry laksa are same taste...sweet!! I guess Penang curry laksa taste is really different from KL big time!! or maybe sugar is cheaper in Penang? lol!! just joking!!

of course we must have Penang CKT(flat rice noodle) !! this is not bad!!

price is very reasonable but the portion is really small too..that why we ordered so many food at one time!!

lots of people coming to this morning market....after brunch we checked in to our hotel......after check in we just drove around Tanjong Bunga area and stop at the night market before call the day..

but before going to Tanjong Bunga we went to check the direction how to go to Butterfly Farm .My sister want to bring Mishu to this attraction......on the way we saw this Spice Garden..actually I want to see what type of spices they have since it's said this Spice Garden is the largest in South East Asia but the entrance fee is extremely expensive!! so pass!!

but right across the street from this Spices Garden we saw a uncle sell durian(King of fruit) on his bike..My mom inquired the price and what type of durian he carried.....They said Penang durian is the best!! of course, we won't miss the chance not to taste it since it's durian season!!

next to the durian there is another fruit seller selling rambutan but we only want durian!!

awesome beautiful,meaty and flavorful durian!! not to said it's really cheap!! I only know how to eat good and delicious durian...dunno or not remember the hundred type of durian names these days

we eat all the durian at an open air restaurant next to the beach....all the durian just cost RM 30!! my mom still going back to bring more durian from the seller....looking at it now,I wish I can have some now!! lol!! I won't get tired of eating durian at all..During our stay in Malaysia for 2 1/2 months ,my mom bought durian for us almost every other day..

the next day we have complimentary buffet breakfast at the hotel next to beach...

Mishu insisted to get a floater when we visit night market at Tanjung Bunga...so my mom bought this floater for her

after breakfast we visit Butterfly Farm at Teluk Bahang.Mishu want to catch the butterfly badly even though it's posted on the sign "do not catch the butterfly"!! I notice there are lots of Middle East tourist in Penang....no wonder there 2 type of entrance fee...Msia citizen and foreign ...we insist Mishu is consider Msian bcos her mom is still holding Msia passport,so we paid local fee for her...of course it's lower than foreign fee!!

pineapple slices is for the butterfly to drink it's juice or nectar..they also pour sort of sweet juice on all the hibiscus for the butterfly to stop for visitors to take photo if not the visitors will complaint.."where is the butterfly"??

at last Mishu touch some butterfly..my mom keep chasing butterfly for her to touch.....it's hot and humid....I have to find a shady spot to rest!! yea...poor me..
