Apple plans Quad-Core processor in iPhone and iPad?

noreply@blogger.com (Thomas Arun) — Sat, 24 Sep 2011 14:11:00 +0000

Seems like dual-core era in smartphone are the technology of the past by the availability of quad-core processors. This quad-core technology will elevate the processing power to new heights.Developers had found out codes that support quad-core ARM CPU's in Apple's Xcode tool which means the future versions of iPhone and iPad will support Quad-Core processor.

Apple recently added support for Marvell's quad-core ARM-based Armada XP processor.Well Apple will actually use this chip or not is not yet finalised. The A5 processor found in the iPad 2 is dual-core, and the same is rumoured to be coming in the iPhone 5.Apple's next CPU will be named as A6 which will use 3D stacking technology. This quad-core chip can do very exciting things in iPad 3 and iphone6.

NVIDIA has announced its plans to bring its quad-core chips to tablets this year so Apple wants to keep pace with Android tables and should at least consider a quad-core chip, amongst other things .A developer who works on low-level ARM assembly coding for security products was the first to see that support had been added for Armada’s Cortex A9-compatible processors in the latest version of Xcode. The source code for a part of Clang that interprets what CPU type is being targeted for optimization includes a definition for an architecture type of “armv7k” and CPU type “pj4b”. PJ4B is a specially optimized CPU design used in Marvell’s quad-core Armada XP embedded processors

noreply@blogger.com (Thomas Arun) — Thu, 15 Sep 2011 07:38:00 +0000

Microsoft is expecting that Windows 8 is the the biggest release after Windows 95.This OS look intriguing and could make Microsoft more competitive against Apple and Android flavours. Windows 8 requires only 281 MB of memory and 29 processes, down from 404 MB of memory and 32 processes in Windows 7 which makes boot time as quickly as the PC's monitor turned on.

Microsoft is working with the touchscreen manufacturers to improve the performance of the glass for the Touchscreen log-in capability. Instead of typing a password, the user can create a password by touching on parts of the screen.Microsoft announced backward compatibility for Windows 8. Windows 8 is Microsoft's combined desktop, laptop and tablet operating system, designed to go from 10-inch touch-only tablets to big screens in your living room, from ultra-portable notebooks to massive gaming systems and business desktops.

Microsoft has developed an application programming interfaces (APIs) and tool kits for Windows 8 that enable Windows developers and non-Windows developers to develop applications for Window's 400 million users globally. Once a developer has completed a new application, he or she can post the application to the Windows app store and set the pricing, terms and conditions of the app sale.Windows Store divides apps into categories such as Entertainment, Finance, Spotlight and Games. Each section includes featured apps for that category along with typical app store lists such as Top rated, Top paid, and Top free. Developers will have the option to offer free trial periods for their apps.

Windows 8 apps use the power of HTML5, tapping into the native capabilities of Windows using standard JavaScript and HTML to deliver new kinds of experiences. These new Windows 8 apps are full-screen and touch-optimized, and they easily integrate with the capabilities of the new Windows user interface.

Windows 8 apps can use a broad set of new libraries and controls, designed for fluid interaction and seamless connectivity. Apps can add new capabilities to Windows and to other apps, connecting with one another through the new interface. For example, a developer can extend the file picker control to enable picking from their own app content or from within another Windows 8 app, in addition to the local file system and the network.

Magic of multiple photo-editing apps together[PhotoAppLink]

noreply@blogger.com (Thomas Arun) — Fri, 02 Sep 2011 17:21:00 +0000

PhotoAppLink allows you to easily edit an image using multiple photo editing apps by providing a mechanism to send an image from one app to the next. This is an initiative that aims to simplify photo editing by trying multiple photo-editing apps together

PhotoAppLink allows users to easily edit an image using multiple photo-editing apps by providing a mechanism to send an image from one app to the next. The feature is available immediately in these apps: Snap!, Color Splash, Simply B&W, PicTools, AutoStitch, TrueHDR, Juxtaposer, Click! and Photogene.

When using an app with PhotoAppLink integration you can simply select another compatible app from its "Send to app" interface. That app is then launched and receives the image from your current app so that you can continue editing immediately. This avoids littering your camera roll with intermediate images and provides a much better user experience.

Besides providing a better user experience for your users it also offers promotion of your app through other compatible apps and will also give you additional revenue source.

Latest HTC User interface [HTC Sense 3.5]

noreply@blogger.com (Thomas Arun) — Wed, 31 Aug 2011 10:12:00 +0000

HTC’ Sense UI is the most popular UI in an Android skin which makes the whole OS look pleasing and much more user-friendly.The new HTC Sense 3.5 runs on Android 2.3.4 which has seven homescreens where you can delete the contents of a selected screen by dragging it into the trash

This hew UI includes nifty lock screen widgets and shortcuts, along with an updated 3D launcher and animations. Now, it looks like HTC is all set to give its Sense UI a dramatic update ie widgets being lightly tweaked along with the way you add and remove home screens. The look of UI is a little different, with fresh transitions and lock screens and an huge improvement in the UI's fluidity.

HTC has retained the ring unlocking system which made its debut on the 3.0 version, but will be much more useful, giving users info on unread messages and weather. Speaking of weather, its widget will also be seeing a change, with it now covering almost all of the display if not for the two buttons below it for access to apps and phone. The icons also get a black background, which should offset them against any dark wallpaper being used.

The lock screen has also been tweaked with new animations and features. The most dramatic change is the tossing out of the launcher bar you currently find at the bottom of the screen. It's been replaced by two buttons: one for an app drawer and one to take you to the phone dialler screen. This new UI will be comming on HTC Bliss, HTC Holiday,HTC Vigor and other upcomming phones. According to the source, Sense 3.5 will become available for older devices too which is in contrast to Sense 3.0 which was exclusively for devices like the Sensation and others with dual-core processors.
