Hitting the Ground Running

This past month I arrived back in Bangkok, Thailand after completing a restful and much needed holiday furlough in the States. I can tell you it was a “hitting the ground running” scenario. It was off the plane and to our office for a quick nap before the sun rose.

A Different Reality

Lately I have been very tired spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I have been in the Word about this and in prayer as well. I am still unsure of a way to revive myself. I feel that maybe I have yet to find a person here that I can walk alongside, this person being a mentor.

The Good Fight

As I was reading in my Bible recently I came across a phrase that is a very common saying in every day life. “The Good Fight”, these words are strategically placed throughout Paul’s writings to Timothy and they are used as words of encouragement for Timothy to keep striving forward.

'Super' Christian

Sometimes I think that some of the men we meet expect us to be some sort of ‘super’ Christian who models perfection. Or perhaps they may think that we go through life free of the high’s and low’s that come with living in a fallen world. But, my life isn’t necessarily like that.

Zeal or Passion?

Personally in the past few weeks I thought I was struggling with a lack of passion. It had started about three weeks ago, but had come to a noticeable presence about two weeks ago. I had been struck with this huge headache that lasted nothing sort of a week.

Since living in Thailand I have been very interested in learning more about the culture, so recently I have been reading up on Buddhism. I’ve been amazed with what I have discovered so far.

Buddhists recognize and know that they have sin and are guilty, and that sin deserves punishment.

After my time at ICAP I was able to fly home for a week. I can say this week was very busy. I attended meetings, surprised people with my arrival, attended a wedding of a very close friend of mine, and saw a special someone come back from a missions trip. There was one thing that impacted me the most while being home though.

The ICAP 2011 Global Conference in Green Lake, WI was an enjoyable week. The conference center was secluded, completely surrounded by the beautiful lake, and the weather was very refreshing.

In This Together

In some way you could say ICAP is like bringing together the pieces of a body. With the idea of fighting against prostitution at the center, being the abdomen, and the many organizations and ways of going about doing ministry, being all the other parts that extend from the abdomen.

Here and Now

It was nice to be back in Phnom Penh again. We had been there for the first time just three months before for a training seminar and it was just enough to wet our feet. Since then a few things had changed as far as their staff, but the over all feel and flow of ministry was the same.
