The following phones are selling mostly below RM 800 but have the features of what needed in today's modern world.

big RAM ie. 3GB
big Storage ie. 32GB
fast connection ie. LTE
acceptable resolutioh ~294 ppi pixel density
GPS & varies sensors

Both Xiaomi Redmi 3S Pro & Redmi Note 3 offer great deals for the money you paid. After all Xiaomi could be considered as the "first" doable or successfully internationalized "alternative" brand i smart phone era. So both of these phones are great choices for 1st timer getting a smart phone of those who wanted a backup phone but do not want to for go any useful features.

Note is the slightly bigger phone 5.5" compare to the other Redmi series ie 5"

The 2nd one is HTC Desire 628

I haven't used a HTC phone for so long that I don't remember its user interface but if I were to pick it up again I would probably start this this phone. But since this isn't really that popular, this might not be my first choice on budget phone.

Wiko is another brand who goes along with "alternative" smart phone brands but unfortunately being late in the game, there are just way too many alternative brands nowadays that such alternative is really not a REAL alternative anymore. Elephone is one example of such not so successful story. U Feel comes with fingerprint sensor but it isn't really a smart feature in my comparison factors.

Subsequently for a little bit more than RM 800 you could also get

Vivo V3 or
Huawei P9 Lite which is strongly recommended but only has 16GB storage

On the other hands, due to past less satisfactory experiences with their brands, these 2 are the qualifying phones but I personally could put them as my last options;

Asus ZenFone
Lenovo Vibe

So all and all, at this point in time. If I were to get a new budget smart phone I would only go for Xiomi or Huawei for now.

The launch of chat bot in Facebook will kill Google ? So the news article below says -

For those who have seen the birth of Internet, it sounds funny because chat bot is so yesteryears. It was one of the earliest invention, way before internet has come into form. Universities dwellers crowd into a chat room talking days and nights. Some lone souls keep talking chat bots and never gets tire of it. Sometimes they were so proud that they showed their friends what bot can do too. Very much like how you show off iPhone's Siri a few years ago. Chat bots were created by researchers, students or hobbyists. While nothing fancy other than just wordings, the AI design portion is pretty much there, it learns as it interacts. Those who has involved AI would know, its about which learning pattern it will use. As a matter of fact, a good AI would find and tune its own learning pattern.

However, at that time, there weren't enough powerful cheap machines to keep chat bot running for global community; there weren't an environment / eco systems for bots to provide business values to; and ofcourse today's technology has added sound, visual and 3D animation

Haven't said that, its not like Google doesn't know bot at all. They have chat bots all along even before their search site became popular. They re-use it when they introduced google talks. It's just that they have so many ventures they never really look into chat bots as a new Big thing to work on.

The following is an error message shown from Mazda web site. From this you know a whole lot of stuff .... should you keep these info quietly you could quietly start hack into their site ...

you know exactly the path they use, the naming convention etc.

Like wise, you properly observe they are using a Content Management System to implement a membership !? Perhaps you could approach them with a CRM instead ?

Basically you just need to run some commands called "super su". As phones do not have keyboard, we have group those commands into a file called supersu.zip All you need to do is to run this file in your phone. This is called "Flashing" a zip file in your phone.

1) Boot into recover mode ( OFF then hold Power + Down )
2) Flash SuperSU zip file

DONE !!

If your device is NEW then you may NOT have a recover option yet. In that case, you will need to install this recovery function to your phone first. And you will have to do this from your PC ( the first time ).

1. Make sure your phone can be connected to your PC. ( the correct driver )

2. Copy superSU zip file to the phone

3. Download the Recovery function file to your PC

Download & move kitchen directory to Cygwin home directory
Test run "menu" from the kitchen directory

First browse to downloadandroidrom.com

Select the right phone model, for example mine is Galaxy Note -> Rooting -> ICS

download 2 files

CWM.zip
CWM ... supersu ...zip

its best to put them in external SD card.

Hit all 3 buttons the same time HOME + Volume UP + Power
until the system screens show up

use volume up and down button to select Apply Update from external storage
press power button to select that option

select CWM.zip and press power button again.

( now you have entered the so called Clock Wok Mod )

you can use finger to scroll the options now.
select Install Update from Internal SD

( here the external is called internal and the external is called SD card, hopefully by the time you read this guide, the term has been fixxed. Either way, just browse to wherever you have save the CWM ... supersu ... zip file )

select CWM ... supersu ...zip file

Goback through the menu and Reboot

You should see the superSU app on your phone now.

Chart Nexus Programming Problem

ChartNexus is supposed to be a JAVA application, which means it can run anywhere ( windows, unix, Apple etc ) as long as there is a Java in there.

But the latest version 3.3.3 is asking for a Visual C++ redistribution DLL file !?!?

If you are having any other "confused" application like this, just download these files ... and get it over with. Most programmers nowadays don't really have a good fundamental on usability design.

Avast 2012 takes on Remote Assistance

Avast has been my choice of FREE antivirus solution for many years now. But the most recent upgrade seems to fail miserably when the Real Time Shield could NOT turn on no matter what I do. So I had to un-install it.

Coincidently my TeamViewer also didn't work properly.

Then when I try to download a new version and I saw this ...

So it seems like Avast is trying to take over Remote Assistance software market by bundle into its FREE anti-virus software. This reminds me of how Microsoft ships IE for FREE when Netscape was the real deal.

During the installation, it won't allow you to un-tick any options.

I am still trying to bring my Avast up, but once this trial fails, I shall move on to the next best free antivirus. Anyone any recommendation please ?

to me it is NOT intuitive to move a sMemo to a folder. it should have been an easy touch-hold-drag process. then again Samsung is pretty weak in thumbs interface design so far. .. its lacking big time human factor and too much engineering. which original Google android interface has fixed since version 2.1

Who offers best iPhone Deal ?

I don't know about you ... for years I am not able to tell which telco actually offer better iphone deal than another. All seems like marketing fuss to me. Each has a layout plans that confuse me easily when I switch view from one Telco to another ...

Well, this is my petty try ...

1 phone : iPhone 4
2 model : 16GB & 32GB
3 telcos: Celcom, Digi, Maxis
2 contract periods : 12 & 24 months
1 verdict.

At first I don't really care about usage. I just want to buy an original iPhone that I can get full support. Considering that, it should be cheaper to get it from a Telco than from a retail shop.

Maxis wins hand down on that aspect simply because they offer the lowest monthly package where you pay only $50 per month. So for $129 a month I can own 16GB iPhone 4 and $145 for 32GB model.

But what if I do care about data usage ? ie. 500MB from Maxis $50 package is just not enough. So I analyse the price from the per GB perspective. Surprisingly Celcom comes up to the top picks.

So if you just want the phone, get from Maxis. If you use a lot and don't worry about cash flow, you should properly get it from Celcom.

It seems like no single verdict can be drawn then. I know its lame but the verdict is "it depends on what you want".

This hasn't considered

cash flow where the payment options would be important
calls and SMS and other goodies that comes with the package
telco specific bonus ie. extra free calls, free SMS, free facebook browse etc.
