This is the fact about children, they get tired and bored of visiting temples, museums or palaces, those of which seems to have a lot in Thailand. When they are clingy too much, you just wish you should never have brought them. Well we have a solution for you. Just find something that you and your kids will both enjoy. I suggest if you have time, you can spoil them by taking them to some places fun and make they smile and laugh.

Here below are some of those fun places that you and your kids will enjoy while visiting Bangkok.
1. Dusit Zoo
This is the most famous and original zoo right in the middle of the city beside the Royal Plaza. This oldest zoo of Thailand has a collection of well-known animals. And most kids love animals, don’t they? Moreover, you can hire a paddling boat to paddle around the big pond in the center of the zoo. This is also an oasis of nature and greenery among Bangkok’s bustling city life. That might explain why you will see a lot of people want to go there.
Visit: www.zoothailand.org for more details.

2. Dream World
It is one of the largest amusement parks in Thailand. Your children will definitely love this place since they can play, enjoy all the exciting rides and see all those shows they offered. For more details about Dream World, please go to www.dreamworld-th.com

3. Traditional Thai Puppet Theater
Love puppets? Experience Thai puppets now at the Traditional Thai Puppet Theater where you can observe the truly authentic Thai puppet show in Thailand. And you will see what make this place so different and really unique. It is something that you might not see anywhere else, only at this theater. Visit its website at www.thaipuppet.com/core/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/lang,en/

Don’t hesitate to bring you kids along when you want to travel!

Another month is about to end but our Muay Thai 24 Cherng Sok still continue in the next month, so don’t go away. Keep visiting us right here for Muay Thai Free lessons. You can learn how to do this on your own at home or even better you can ask your Muay Thai trainer for advise or any further questions you wish to know.

As we always do it, we will tell you what the move is and how to perform in step-by-step. So here we are.

The move of today is one of the Cherng Sok (Elbow moves) called KAMPANG POOPA. The name doesn’t really describe the move actually. However, it has an English name called “the Swinging Back Elbows Alternately” which I’m not sure it will help you understand it more. Let’s skip to the how to perform so you can see the picture.

Picture this. When you make a punch, kick or elbow at your opponent and you miss, mostly you will lose your balance and won’t be able to defend any attack effectively. So here is what you can do. After you know that oh shoot you miss the target, you will shift to a stance as fast as you can and turn your back to your opponent. So to prevent from any attack from the back by your opponent, try to use this move by throwing your elbows back. Swing your elbow, left or right to hit your opponent in the face and the use the other one, swinging back to hit his midsection. Alternate the action rapidly.

To the attack: Make sure your opponent is not too far behind from you before throwing your elbows back.

To the defense: insert an arm under the armpits of your opponent who is about to use this technique with you and use your inner wrist to put some force to on his neck to bend his head down as much as possible. When you are sure that you’re safe from this move and lock your opponent is this position (bent down head), counterattack by using your knee to hit his chin.

Earlier this month I introduce you with a girl boxing gym. After that I realize I should write more about Muay Thai gyms too since our site’s name focuses on Muay Thai. So today I’m going to talk about one good Thai boxing gym, the Nugget’s Thai Boxing Gym!

This is the most well-known gym in the city (said to be) situated in Queensland, Australia. A lot of world top professional Muay Thai boxers are from this gym. But that shouldn’t be the reason you want to join the gym. Train Muay Thai when you really want to only. And whenever you’re sure you’re ready for this type of sports you can go to check out the place anytime.

The training classes for amateurs and professionals open from Monday to Saturday which will make 6 days a week. Quite a busy gym. Morning session starts at 6 in the morning to 9am. Afternoon session starts at 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The classes are well planned for every student in all level. You will get exactly the thing you come here for whether it is fitness, skill, self confidence, weight loss or power.

Just like most boxing gyms, it provides you all the equipment you will need for training.

The gym received the 1999 Blitz Hall of Fame Muay Thai “Trainers of the Year” due to the fact that it has produced Muay Thai fighters in Australia for more than 10 years. So this gym would make a really good choice for you once you’re ready for it. Only one motivation like simply wanting to get healthy and strong will do assure that you can train Muay Thai. It’s not like you have to want to fight someone the shit out of them only.

Just go check out for more about Nugget’s Thai Boxing Gym at www.nuggetsthaiboxinggym.com! Enjoy the gym!

That’s right! It’s time for you to learn the next Muay Thai Cherng Sok today. I really hope the lessons help you to understand and know more about Muay Thai or Thaiboxing. You know it’s not the same with international boxing or kickboxing, there are a lot of different things and rules between Thaiboxing and other types of boxing. Cherng Sok is one of the things. Muay Thai 24 Cherng Sok is basically how to use “elbows” as your weapons in Muay Thai Boxing.

The Cherng Sok we are going to talk about in a sec today is called “AKKEE SONG SANG”. It is the Thai name for throwing the elbow and the punch. This technique is quite popular and well-known itself. Here below is how to do it. Take a look!

First of all you have to know what it is used for. This technique is used for attack. To do so, you have to use your left fist to deliver an uppercut punch or “Mad Soy Dao” or also called “Star Gathered” targeting your opponent’s face or chin. Right after that, turn your upper body to lend force to the right side of your body to follow the first move up with another attack by your right elbow targeting your opponent’s rib or chest. To prevent any counterattacks, use your right and left fists and elbows to guard yourself. And watch out, be aware of getting kick in your body because you are keeping your arm high to do the technique and leaving your midsection opened.

To the Attack: Wipe down the uppercut punch with your right arm and without delay block the elbow’s blow with your arm that’s coming to your chest area. Or you can move back to avoid the attack and think for the next move. And like I said above, always watch out for your body from getting hit by your opponent’s knee. You can block any kicks by turning your twisting your body and turning your hip towards your opponent.

Stick with us for more of Muay Thai techniques!

Set against the action-packed world of Mixed Martial Arts, NEVER BACK DOWN is the story of Jake Tyler, a tough kid who leads with his fists, and, often, with his heart. Jake Tyler, played by Sean Faris (Yours, Mine and Ours), is the new kid in town with a troubled past. He has recently moved to Orlando, Florida with his family who has relocated to support his younger brother’s shot at a professional tennis career. Jake was a star athlete on the football team at home, but in this new city he is an outsider with a reputation for being a quick tempered brawler.
Making an attempt to fit in, and at the invitation of a flirtatious classmate, Baja, played by Amber Heard (Hidden Palms, Alpha Dog), Jake goes to a party where he is unwittingly pulled into a fight with a bully named Ryan McCarthy, played by Cam Gigandet (The O.C., Who’s Your Caddy?). While he is defeated and humiliated in the fight, a classmate introduces himself to Jake and tells him about the sport known as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He sees a star in Jake and asks that he meet with his mentor, Jean Roqua, played by Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond, In America).
It is immediately apparent to Jake that MMA is not street fighting, but rather an art form he wants to master. Roqua will take Jake under his wing, but it is up to Jake to find the patience, discipline, willingness and reason within him to succeed. For Jake, there is much more at stake than mere victory. His decision will not just settle a score; it will define who he is.
From www.neverbackdownthemovie.com

It does look so cool in the trailer just like all the fighting action movies which I’m sure you have seen it at least once. But I gotta warn you, if you’re huge MMA fan, you might get pissed. Well it’s because you know MMA is nothing like what you see in this film. It looks more like a bunch of kids fighting on the street for some stupid reasons. However, I positively think that the film mainly wants to show you the fact of the teenage life today.

Watch it just for fun. And I’m quite sure many people will like it!

Welcome to our blog and this is one of our hottest articles in this blog, “Speak of Thai”. Right here we teach you how to speak Thai just what you really want to say. And don’t forget you can always tell us what you want to learn to pronounce or speak right here below in the comment section.

Today I’m going to teach you how to say “Happy Birthday” in Thai. Well the only reason I want to teach you this is that it’s my birthday this month. That’s all and I know you want to know how to say this to your Thai pals too.

Actually in Thailand today we use English phrase “Happy Birthday” a lot but mostly in the city. Thai phrase for Happy Birthday is “Sook San Wan Kerd”. The meaning is the same as the English one actually. “Sook San” is quite a really formal Thai word for “happy” and “Wan” is “day” and “Kerd” is “to be born” or “Wan Kerd” is “Birthday”. Don’t be confused yet!

Each country has different tradition of celebrating birthday. Something cannot be done or given as a b-day present in some country. What Thai people do on their birthday? The tradition says that we will get up in the early morning to offer one or several Buddhist monks food that we have well prepared to have luck and to prosper. The birthday person will receive gifts from others. The gifts can be anything actually. However, it seems like birthday card are not that popular in Thailand among the people. Today we close friends just only send SMS or email to wish the person a happy birthday that’s all, even easier and cheaper I think.

Don’t forget your Thai friend’s birthday and surprise him or her by wishing him or her a happy birthday in Thai.

Welcome to MuayThaiArt! Many people visit our website and don’t notice that we have a blog. I really feel sorry for them because they have missed a lot of good stuff that they could have learned about Muay Thai and of course Thailand right from this blog.

One of our proudly present is our Muay Thai learning articles. We have started this for months just to spread out Muay Thai knowledge and techniques for anyone that fall in love with Muay Thai and want to know everything about it.

Today’s lesson is Muay Thai 24 Cherng Sok: YAN YOTHEE. The lesson will teach you how to use this elbow technique step by step. If you like what you see right here below, don’t forget to visit us next time.

YAN YOTHEE is a name for one of Muay Thai elbow’s techniques that the elbow will be pressed back for defending. Let’s take a good look on the details.

This technique is mainly used for defense. How to perform this is that you throw your left or right elbow moving outwards and upwards to the back when your opponent is about to enfold you in an immobilizing seize from the back. The target for this move is your opponent’s face. If you use your right elbow, without delay twist your upper body to the other side to follow up with a swinging back left elbow to hit your opponent’s stomach or rib.

To the attack: Always raise your hands up to guard your face from any elbow blows. Or to protect your chest or upper body, your elbows are coming handy for the case. And don’t forget to watch out for your neck by keeping your fists up to be ready to respond to any attacks.

To the Defense: Kick your opponent’s leg with your left or right shin or foot to break his balance.

That’s right! This is another boxing film that you should not miss. Resurrecting the Champ was made based on a true story that was based on a lie. The film was nominated for Best Performance in Feature Film- Young Actor Age Ten or Younger, a little boy Dakota Goyo.

I’m quite sure that you will like it since most of the people who did also like it a lot. I read a few viewer comments and one said the film is an extraordinary motion picture. The writing was good. The characterization and the dramatic construction are the best. And the main actors, Josh Hartnett and Sam Jackson did a really great performance in the movie. However the story doesn’t quite set out what it tries to carry out its great true story. But I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t affect your judgment of liking the movie that much.

Story: A prevailing sports reporter saves a homeless guy (”Champ”) and discovers that he is actually a great boxing legend who was believed to have long dead. What begins as a chance to raise from the dead Champ’s story and run away from the shadow of his father’s accomplishment becomes his own journey as the ambitious and motivated reporter reexamines his own life and his family relationship.

Directed and produced by Rod Lurie

Casts: Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Hartnett and Kathryn Morris

I really suggest you to check this movie out now because you will love it. First, go see the true story that made this film happen at www.resurrectingthechamp.com. Hope you like it!

Women boxers and women boxers wanna be listen up! Today’s gym we are showing you next is just for girls boxing only. So don’t miss all this info below and go check the site out. BTW it’s in Germany. If you’re from somewhere else, you can also give us the name of girl boxing gyms in your home country and we will go dig it up for the others.

For those of you who expect for girls Muay Thai boxing gym, I would have to admit that I haven’t found any, I mean just the one for girls only. But this is a good sign right when someone already started a girls boxing club, one day there will be a girl Muay Thai club for sure. Ok back to our article today. You can check out the gym now and find out for yourself at www.frauenamateurboxen.de or read our review below first.

All age are accepted! The gym has stated that the current student’s ages range from 10 (ten-year-old girl? Wow!) to 53. You should go make a new record if you’re younger (in this case would be your kids) or older because I would. Don’t worry about the age too much! You’re not going to be a professional boxer for sure if you’re too young or too old because that’s the way boxing is. But the reason I told you not to be worried is because anyone can always train boxing just to be healthy and fit. It’s not that different from when you think you want to go to work out in a fitness center. So just start now, no need to have any experience you all are welcomed here at the gym.

The training hours are on Monday from 7pm and Thursday from 7:30pm only. Make sure you manage your time for the training well. The membership per month is not that that expensive comparing to regular gyms; 21€ for adults and 5€for girls under 18. All training equipment are provided!
