Falla ¡Nou Campanar' 2010

The streets smell of freshly baked pumpkin and gunpowder. Everywhere you see colors which light up the City, the monuments are drawn up by artists and celebrated in Valencia from March 15 to 19, Fallas in Valencia

Every night, you have fireworks, they lit the sky in different colors, March 18^th is an important day to remember “la nit del foc” at 1:30 at night, you have a spectacular fireworks display. The most beautiful and surprising of the Fallas are the monuments they are built in different areas, which you can view all over the city. Great joy for the skiers, last weekend we got informed that the thickness of the snow has increased so we need to take an advantage of this and enjoy the occasion.

In the ski resort of Andorra and Grandvalira Vallnord is a snow thickness of 140 cm and Soldeu-El Tarter increased to 80cm, in the Catalan Pyrenees, where the La Molina ski resort is located is the thickness increased to 45cm. For the coming week we expect colder temperatures and loads of sun, ideal for everybody who loves skiing all day long!

Have you thought about going skiing? Do not wait until winter is over but book your ski holiday this February in a ski resort for example an apartment in the Pyrenees, Andorra.

If you choose to rent an apartment in Vallnord to enjoy the high-level competitions, you have traditionally “Font Blanca Arcalis” on February 13 for the cup in Spain, in Andorra the cup of mountain ski, and the Open FEEC individual championship in Spain.
In Vallnord you have from 14 to 18 February, the fourth edition of the Speed Riding Contest, a method that combines skiing and paragliding (Vallnord is also the first resort that has a school for this module)

From February 22 to 27, the ski professionals come together for the World Criteria Master.

The perfect end of the month, if the dates don’t change, is the Championship Dorado Free ride that will be held on the 25th till the 27th of February.

In the ski resort Grandvalira activities never stop, on Saturday February 5^th, they had the 6th edition of the five G-series5 racing on the ice.

In El Tartet they draw the attention to the 4th consecutive year of the Burton Women Slopestyle Championship and as well this on February 28  the opening of the Open Pipe New School for the younger skiers under 18 years.

In the Catalan Pyrenees, in Molina, you have the Trofeo La Copa España, Molina and Rossignol Blanc (juniors) on February 11 and the days after

For the closure of the month, on February 25^th Molina  organizes the Paralympic day.The 26^th and 27^th of February you have the Rossignol Demo Tour that’s stops in Molina , they have a European tour, where you can enjoy all the new things and materials for skiers and snowboarders.

Each year is different and not one year is the same, so make 2011 a new start to do what you want.
Christmas isn’t always a relaxed time, all the family meetings, Christmas dinners, the whole organization and the hectic shopping. Why not start the year with a trip to Galicia where you can enjoy the tranquil surroundings and beautiful landscapes of Rais Baixes. According to market research by Muchosol, British families start searching for holiday rentals in Spain much earlier than their Southern counterparts.

Between September and December the holiday rental market is very quiet. Searches for terms as Holiday rentals Spain or apartments Costa Brava hardly show up in Google statistics. From January google-searches and visitors to touristic websites suddenly shoot up to 1.000.000 monthly searches for holiday rentals in France and just under 800.000 for holiday rentals Spain. Usually a second, lower peak is reached in the months of June and July.

The early planning of the holidays is not only typically British, but rather Northern-European. A similar trend can be found when looking at search-results in the German, Dutch, and Swedish markets, while Southern-Europeans wait much longer when planning the holidays. In Spain and Italy for example, about 60% of all searches for holiday rentals are made in May, June and even July.

Muchosol has no clear explanation for the phenomenon. Perhaps it has something to do with the Anglosaxon tradition of new year resolutions. A more plausible explanation might be that Southern-Europeans normally spend the holidays in their own country, which brings along less uncertainty and planning, says Thomas Kruiper from Muchosol. Whatever the explanation, if your favorite holiday rentals in Spain for this summer are already booked, they are likely to have been taken by a German or a Dutch.

We are in an exciting project for any company: to redesign its corporate image. We want to develop a series of articles in which we will discuss our experiences during this process.

The first of these articles is the Redesign of the Logo.

A picture is worth than a thousand words

The first question that we made was:

“What do we want to express with the new logo and do we want to achieve?”

A rain of concepts came to fore at the first meeting. Inherent ideas of our business intermingled: sun, vacation, leisure, unforgettable experiences, etc. But also marketing concepts like: recall, visual impact, economics and practicality.

“You have to create a logo consisting of something simple but with enough personality to stand out” were the words of Manuel Giner, Director of Muchosol.

Simplicity 2.0

Before getting down to work, without talking with each other, we agreed that the simplicity needed to prevail above all else.

I agree with the most designers I have worked with, that a logo should be as simple as can be. Examples such as Apple’s apple or the star of Mercedes support this theory.

But it was clear that the simplicity we were looking for should be a Simplicity 2.0.

The logo of Muchosol should be adapted to current times and to do so we follow a number of assumptions:

– A logo that is understandable.

– Apparently simple, almost childlike.

– To show sympathy.

– And in the same time, sober.

The features of the new logo

The new logo of Muchosol is an iconified logo, meaning that, is a logo in which a part of the linguistic elements are icons or images.

Its main features are:

• Large and simple fonts. We used 2 different fonts: Arial Rounded MT Bold for Muchosol letters and Delicious for .es
• The designers have used Degraded both for the inside the text and for the tables.
• Marked Stroke Network and Protection Area allowed us to establish the proportions between the elements that make up the logo and to check the “air” that we wanted to leave between, that visually wouldn’t be affected by either element.
• Next, about the color, we have chosen Institutional orange, characteristic color in recent years of Muchosol and which represents the color of the sun.

And, in the end….

We waited for the holiday, we made plans and we want everything to flow as we imagined.

The leave is expected to be the most pleasant time of year and therefore we must be very careful to maximize every moment. The tourism leaflets promise interesting stays, the most diverse offers, and it became difficult to choose the best variant.

Increasingly, many agencies offer all inclusive holidays, providing almost all to the tourists. But how useful is for you that all inclusive …

The main disadvantage of this type of holiday is that any activity you want to make outside the hotel is already a paid service that you lose. If you are the type who likes to explore, to taste the local specialties and change every day the landscape and atmosphere, you should choose a holiday private accommodation.

This type of system also means that you are stuck with whatever entertainment the hotel offers – which might be very good, or might be not so good. The most beautiful impressions of vacation are waiting, and it is a shame to discard them.

Booking a private villa or a private cozy apartment instead of staying in a hotel has become the perfect solution for those who yearn for just a little bit more privacy and an awful lot more freedom.

We think is very important for you to mention also about the prices. Take quick look at the hotel offers and it will not be hard to decide.
Let’s take a simple example: 4 adult persons, 7 nights in Ibiza in August. The total prices of the hotels offers may vary from 1,800 € (only the accommodation) to 10,000 €, of course, according to the number of the hotel stars. A few days ago a lady from France attended our call center. She was very nervous. She found on our website an apartment in Denia (Alicante), which she liked, and which was available and at a very good price, but she didn`t dare to book it ….

After a few minutes of conversation she confessed that she has been the victim of a scam. A week before she discovered that she paid almost € 1,000 for booking an apartment which doesn`t exist.

According to this client, the alleged deception was done through Abritel, one of the best known sites of holiday homes and apartments in France. Excepting this lady, they also had other 170 affected families, and the scam is over € 2 millions.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
