Facebook generates 70 percent of the total social network traffic. That’s why it’s so important for small businesses to use Facebook. However, if you’re not yet using Facebook, you may be wondering how to create a Facebook Business page.

Setting up a Facebook Business page is actually pretty straightforward. Posting regular updates, engaging with potential customers, and growing your page organically is where things become a little more difficult.

However, you have to start somewhere unless you want to miss out on all of that lovely social media traffic. So here’s how to create a Facebook Business page.

How to Create a Facebook Business Page

In order to make a Facebook Business page, you’re going to need to sign up to Facebook. This will be the primary account associated with your page.

If you have a personal account already then you can use this, or you could set up a new account and associate it with a business email instead. If you’re brand new to Facebook, check out our essential Facebook tips for beginners.

With your account registered, head to facebook.com/business and click the Create a Page button. You’ll be asked to choose between Business or brand and Community or public figure. If you’re a politician, musician, or a comedian then you’ll want to use the latter option.

Click Get Started to create your Facebook Business page. The first thing you’ll have to do is give your page a name, and pick a category for it. Click on the Category field and start typing to see suggestions for existing categories.

Which category you pick will decide what you do next. For example if you categorize your page as a Restaurant you will be invited to fill out the street address and phone number. You can opt out of displaying your address if you want. Pick the category that best describes your business, fill out any additional information then click Continue.

Next you’ll be invited to add a profile picture. You can check our Facebook image size guide for the exact dimensions, then click on Upload a Profile Picture. This is a good opportunity to use your brand logo. If you want to do this at a later time click Skip. Finally you’ll be asked to add a cover photo, which can serve to tell customers more about what your business sells.

With this final click of your mouse your page is complete and published.

How to Set Up a Facebook Page

From here you can carry on adding detail to your Facebook Page. You can access your page at any time from your regular Facebook account by clicking the downward arrow in the top-right corner of the screen.

If your page isn’t quite finished yet, you might want to unpublish it until it’s in a better state. You can do this by visiting your page, clicking Settings in the top-right corner, then clicking on Page Visibility. If you do decide to unpublish, don’t forget to come back here and make your page visible again when it’s complete.

One of the first things you’ll want to nail down is your Username, underneath your profile picture. This has to be unique, and is used to create a URL that points to your Facebook page. As an example, the MakeUseOf username is @makeuseof, so facebook.com/makeuseof redirects to our official Facebook page. Choose something that’s catchy, memorable, and easy to type.

Next you’ll want to add a short description. Think of this as a way of telling anyone who stumbles upon your page why they are here. Click on Add a Short Description then describe your business in under 255 characters. Once you’ve done this you’ll be invited to click the Edit Page Info button to add more information.

Add any relevant contact information including a phone number, website, email, physical address, and location on a map. You can also list your opening hours if applicable, whether your premises has parking, and the price range for goods sold. You can uncheck any of these items to de-list them from your page if you want.

How to Add Buttons to a Facebook Page

Some pages use buttons to redirect traffic to useful services, like a website URL for a media company or an ecommerce store for online retailers. These buttons are brightly colored and appear in prominent positions on both mobile and desktop versions of Facebook.

To add a button, click the + Add a Button link beneath your page’s cover photo. Not all button types are suitable for all businesses. You can choose from:

• Make a booking with you for businesses that require appointment.
• Contact you with the option of choosing buttons like “Call Now” and “Sign Up.”
• Learn more about your business to “Watch Video” or simply “Learn More” (perfect for redirecting traffic to your website).
• Shop with you including the “See Offers” button to entice users.
• Download your app or play your game to access “Use App” or “Play Game” buttons.

As you cycle through the options you’ll see the preview at the top of the page change. Click Next then Finish to create your button. You can only have one button active at a time, but you can delete your button at any point and add another if you like.

Creating Your First Facebook Business Post

Use the Create Post box to add updates to your page just as you would on your regular news feed. You can create a regular post, broadcast to the world using Facebook Live, add a new event, or create a special offer for an item you have for sale.

You can compose a regular update, or click on the ellipsis button next to the post options to reveal more post types. Some useful options include starting a Poll, using a Get messages update to prompt customers to reach out to you, or using Tag product to draw attention to an item for sale.

Beneath the update composer is the option to publish your update immediately, schedule it for a later date, or backdate it. You can also save your post as a draft to come back to it later. Click the Share Now drop-down box to access these options.

5. NFC Ring OPN

The NFC Ring OPN is a slick, understated, wearable NFC tag available in black or white. Made from scratch resistant ceramic, the OPN is both durable and stylish. Ceramic was chosen for its hypoallergenic properties. This is the same reason Apple uses ceramic on the back of all Apple Watch models too.

The OPN includes NFC Ring’s updated 2018 antenna design for improved operating range and expanded compatibility. You can write to the ring using the included app, or vastly expand the possibilities with other NFC tag writing software.

Unfortunately, you can’t use the OPN to make purchases. You can, however, use it to do just about anything else you can do with NFC tag. That includes opening doors, sharing contact information, visiting web pages, and transmitting text.

The biggest drawback to the OPN is its price. For a ring that doesn’t track activity, provide notifications, or allow you to make payments, it’s expensive. Then again, few other rings look this good or are made of such high-quality materials.

6. McLEAR Ring

The McLEAR Ring is virtually identical to the NFC Ring OPN, but with one big difference; it can be used to make payments. The McLEAR uses the same contactless technology that’s inside your bank card to allow you to make tap-and-go purchases.

Unfortunately, the McLEAR ring doesn’t link directly to a bank account. Instead, you use the RingPay app to add funds to a separate wallet. The ring then uses this wallet to make payments. It’s worth checking out their Limits and Fees page to avoid any nasty surprises.

The ring is made of the same hypoallergenic ceramic seen in the OPN. It also shares the same understated design, which is to say it looks great. It’s resistant to scratches, waterproof, and doesn’t require charging. If you lose your ring, you can quickly freeze your wallet using RingPay.

Unlike the NFC Ring OPN, you can’t use your McLEAR ring for any other NFC purposes. At present, the ring is currently available in the UK, with a waitlist available for overseas customers.

The latest generation of omnidirectional video cameras have better sensors, and higher resolutions. There’s even video stabilization that results in surprisingly usable footage. Plus you can do things that simply aren’t possible with a regular camera.

But which one is right for you? Here are the best 360-degree cameras available right now.

Why Should You Buy a 360-Degree Camera?

Cameras that can shoot 360-degree footage have at least two lenses; one at the front, and one at the back. These lenses capture wide-angle video. The camera stitches the footage together to create a single 360-degree image.

This has its benefits. There’s no need to frame your shots since you’re capturing everything around you. This is known as overcapture. You can then edit the footage down later to create your video.

The Insta360 EVO is an action camera with a unique hinged design. The hinge gives you the flexability to shoot 180-degree video in stereoscopic 3D, or full 360-degree video in 2D. The EVO’s capabilities largely mirror the One X, with 5.7K video at 30fps, 4K video at 50fps, and 18MP still images.

The EVO also uses the same smooth stabilization seen in the One X. There’s even RAW photography and LOG video capabilities too. If the One X is an action camera, the EVO is a camera for creating videos to be viewed in VR. The 180-degree 3D footage will really pop on a VR headset compared to flat 360-degree footage.

The One X has the edge if you’re going to be sharing your footage in standard size formats. However, if you’re going all-in on VR, then the 3D capabilities of the EVO are hard to beat.

3. Ricoh Theta Z1

What makes the Ricoh Theta Z1 unique is that it contains the largest sensor of any consumer 360-degree camera. The one-inch sensor, combined with Ricoh’s quality optics, delivers the best image quality outside of professional devices.

That larger sensor will help a lot when it comes to low light performance, particularly night shooting. More sensor space means better color reproduction, and less detail lost in the shadows and highlights. Dynamic range is much improved over standard 1/2.3-inch sensors too. This leads to video and stills coming looking better than footage from many regular action cameras.

Despite the high image quality, the Z1 only outputs 4K video at 30 frames per second, with an option for 2K capture at the same framerate. Still images are captured at 23MP resolution.

The Theta+ app is a capable mobile companion for overcapture and sharing purposes.  You could describe the Theta Z1 as a prosumer camera. You might find it worth almost double the price of the Insta 360 One X if the sensor benefits are a top priority for you.

4. GoPro Fusion

The GoPro Fusion is the company’s first 360-degree camera. GoPro is a respected name in the consumer camera space, and the Fusion doesn’t disappoint offering 5.8K at 24fps, 5.2K at 30fps, and 3K video at 60fps.

The Fusion is fitted with a decent set of lenses, which means video quality is good, particularly considering the small sensor size. Like GoPro’s HERO cameras, the Fusion makes use of impressive stabilization techniques to smooth out bumps without the need for a gimbal.

Still image size is a little low at 18 megapixels, but it’s par for the course compared to the rest of the market. The camera is also waterproof, with a rubbery outer case and support for GoPro’s mounting system. This makes it easy to add the Fusion to your setup if you already own a GoPro camera.

Unfortunately, the GoPro Fusion desktop app has been the subject of critisism, with users noting that it’s very slow to stitch and process footage. Despite this, the GoPro Fusion is still a compelling choice, especially for its underwater capabilites.

5. Rylo 360

With 5.8K video at 24fps and 4K at 30fps, the Rylo 360 matches GoPro’s impressive resolution and image quality. Also up to standard is the cinematic stabilization. These features are ideal, as the Rylo 360 has been designed as an action camera.

The companion app is well regarded for its intuitive and user-friendly design. You can use it to create interesting videos from overcapture by reframing your footage, playing around with the playback speed, and performing color corrections before exporting to your device.

One thing worth noting is that the companion app cannot live preview what the Rylo 360 is recording. This is less of an issue with 360-degree video since overcapture means you can reframe in post-production. However, it is worth noting since similar cameras do offer a live preview.

6. Garmin VIRB 360

The Garmin VIRB 360 is another rugged 360-degree action camera. It has a waterproof design with replaceable lenses; perfect for any mishaps you may have along the way. The VIRB 360 shoots 5.7K video at 30fps, with 4K spherical stabilization and 360-degree audio.

What makes the VIRB 360 stand out is its array of sensors. These include a built-in barometer, accelerometer, gyroscope, and GPS sensor. With the additional data captured you can place informational overlays onto your footage, like speed or position on a map.

The VIRB 360 is pricey compared to some of these other options, and the software is a bit of a weak point according to many reviewers. Those issues aside, the best reason to go for Garmin’s offering is for the array of sensors that allow you to capture more than just video and audio.

Coupled with the second generation Apple Pencil, the iPad Pro is a force to be reckoned with for digital artists who want to sketch, paint, and refine their ideas on a tablet.

The Apple Pencil is an optional addition, but it’s an essential purchase for anyone looking to use a stylus with their tablet. When not in use the magnetic Pencil clips to the iPad’s chassis for safe keeping. If you later decide that you want to use the tablet for heavy typing sessions, the Smart Keyboard attachment can be picked up for this pupose.

But for most other users, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will likely feel a bit big. It’s too large to hold with one hand comfortably, so it’s not ideal for browsing Facebook on the sofa. Best Workhorse iPad: iPad Pro 11-inch

The iPad Pro 11-inch might be able to replace your laptop when coupled with the Smart Keyboard folio. While iOS isn’t as powerful as macOS or Windows, the vast selection of apps available helps make up for it. The iPad Pro costs as much as a mid-range laptop—a price that doesn’t include the optional keyboard or stylus accessories.

While your own experience may vary, I’ve found typing on the Smart Keyboard folio a pleasant experience. Despite sitting almost flat against the desk, the keyboard is comfortable and allows you to type at speed as a comparably-sized MacBook would. This wasn’t the case with Apple’s original 9.7-inch iPad Pro folio, which felt cramped.

Furthermore, the A12X Bionic chip found inside the iPad Pro outshines many laptops in terms of raw power and overall system performance. You’ll have no problems editing 4K videos in iMovie, playing intensive 3D games, or using two apps side-by-side with all that power at your disposal.

Ultimately your decision to choose the 11-inch iPad Pro over the more reasonably priced iPad Air comes down to the user experience. The iPad Pro has a redesigned chassis and tiny bezel. It includes Face ID for unlocking your tablet with a glance, rather than a fingerprint. It also comes in sizes of up to 1TB, compared to the iPad Air’s 256GB.

Best iPad for Tight Budgets: iPad

Apple’s most basic tablet is simply called the iPad. It’s significantly cheaper than an iPad Air and even cheaper than an iPad mini. Powering the 9.7-inch display is Apple’s A10 Fusion chip, an aging piece of silicon first featured in the iPhone 7 way back in 2016.

Despite not being a cutting edge device, the iPad is still a capable tablet for everyday tasks. It will give you no problems browsing the web, checking social media, responding to email, streaming videos and music, and even playing most games.

Due to its limited power and relatively cheap price point, the iPad could be the perfect tablet for kids. It’s also a potentially valuable educational tool that’s suited to use within the classroom, as an eReader or study companion, or for taking notes using an on-screen keyboard. There’s no Smart Keyboard folio for the iPad, but it is compatible with the first generation Pencil and third-party Bluetooth keyboards.

You can buy the iPad with Touch ID in capacities of up to 128GB. It could make the perfect coffee table companion, a kitchen aid for following recipes, or a smart home control hub for Apple HomeKit devices.

Best Portable iPad: iPad mini

In March 2019, Apple finally updated the iPad mini line which hadn’t seen a refresh since 2015. The updated tablets feature the same A12 Bionic chip found in the iPad Air and iPhone XS. That means they’ve got enough power under the hood to chew through most apps and processes.

But the main reason to choose the iPad mini is its form factor. With a 7.9-inch display, the iPad mini can fit into a small handbag or large pocket. Its width and height resemble many hardback books, and so it makes a compelling eReader too.

Apple’s smallest tablet fits inside the same chassis as its predecessor, with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner for unlocking and making purchases. You can get the iPad mini in sizes of up to 256GB, but ultimately the main reason to pick up a Mini is that you want a very small tablet.

Which iPad Should I Buy?

It can be tempting to look at the iPad Pro and convince yourself that you need to splash out on Apple’s finest, but the iPad Air is probably the best tablet on this list. Not only is it compatible with the first generation Pencil and Smart Keyboard folio (previously iPad Pro exclusives), it’s decent value too.

Whatever you buy, make sure you buy with future use in mind because Apple tablets tend to last. I’ve still got a fully functional 2013 iPad Air that, despite its cracked screen, continues to work just fine. Though, by far one of the most important things to consider is how much storage you need.

Don’t make the mistake of buying an iPad with too little storage or you’ll be locked into a battle of constantly creating free space on iOS, and that’s just not fun.

Gimbals offer amateurs and professionals alike an opportunity to get silky smooth video. While many smartphones include built-in image stabilization, these features are no match for gimbals that stabilize video over three axes.

Gimbals use three motors to counter the shakes, wobbles, and bumps encountered when shooting iPhone video. You’ll be amazed by how much better your videos look. But not all gimbals are built equally, so which is the best gimbal for iPhone users?

1. Zhiyun Smooth 4

Easily one of the best—if not the best—gimbals currently available for the iPhone is the Zhiyun Smooth 4. Zhiyun has a history of making excellent gimbals like the Zhiyun Crane 2 we reviewed back in 2018. The Smooth 4 is the company’s current flagship three-axis stabilizer for smartphones, with a maximum payload of 210g.

The company added a ton of hardware buttons to help manipulate both the gimbal and the camera you are filming with. This includes a focus or zoom wheel, buttons for recording and shooting stills, hotkeys for switching modes, and two triggers. Squeeze the top trigger on the back to activate sport mode, which tightens up the response time for faster pans. Double tap the lower trigger to have the gimbal automatically center itself.

Battery life runs for 12 hours, with a charging port available for charging your smartphone while you shoot. You can recharge the gimbal in around three hours. The gimbal is available in two colors; black and white. It also includes a tripod which attaches to the bottom of the gimbal and a carrying case to boot.

The only area where the Zhiyun Smooth 4 might let you down is in its software. The accompanying ZY Play app is notoriously unintuitive and often crashes. The app’s features like object tracking are inferior to DJI’s offering. The triggers and face buttons make up for this, but it’s worth considering if you’re not using a professional video capture app.

2. DJI Osmo Mobile 2

DJI is a company that’s made its name through the sale of drones and high-end video stabilizers. The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 distills that prowess into a pint-sized package. This is a smaller device than Zhiyun’s Smooth 4, though the maximum payload is similar at around 240g.

The Osmo Mobile 2 is noticeably smaller than the Smooth 4, and it lacks many of the hardware buttons. There are no triggers for activating sport mode. Instead, DJI went with a comfortable ergonomic grip, a joystick, and a few buttons for recording and switching modes.

DJI instead put more focus on their software. This makes the Osmo Mobile 2 a capable gimbal when paired with the official mobile app. In particular, their ActiveTrack object tracking technology works remarkably well for tracking people or keeping objects near the center of the frame. There’s also an auto-calibration tool which makes setting the gimbal up a breeze.

The Osmo Mobile 2 will go on for around 15 hours, and you can use some of that power reserve to charge your iPhone too. Unfortunately, there’s no tripod in the box. So, you’ll probably want to buy one separately so you can safely set the gimbal down without damaging anything.

3. FeiyuTech Vimble 2

Feiyu is another name you might find on a full-sized mirrorless or digital SLR gimbal. The FeiyuTech Vimble 2 is their current flagship smartphone stabilizer. It uses the usual three-axis design, with a maximum payload of 210g.

To make their offering stand out from the crowd, Feiyu added an 18cm extendable arm to the gimbal. This effectively turns the Vimble 2 into a stabilized selfie stick, which is ideal for traveling and for getting interesting shots that require additional reach. It’s not groundbreaking, but at least it’s different.

The Vimble includes a joypad and zoom controls in addition to its mode and record buttons. It’s capable of face and object tracking using the companion app, though you shouldn’t expect DJI levels of accuracy. You can even take five-hour timelapse photos if you have the battery to spare.

Five hours is the quoted battery life, with a charge time of less than two. You can charge your smartphone via the micro-USB port, though you’ll need to supply your own cable. While the battery life may be disappointing, the Vimble 2 is an easy to use gimbal that’s been built with affordability in mind.

4. Freefly Movi

Nothing quite compares to the Freefly Movi. The company describes the Movi as a “robot smartphone stabilizer.” The price tag reflects its fancy description. The first thing you’ll notice is that it doesn’t use the same design as most gimbals. Though it does maintain the same three-axes of stabilization to deliver smooth footage.

The Freefly Movi is a programmable gimbal with a flat bottom that you can set down anywhere. There is a myriad of modes to help tell your story. There’s Majestic Mode which smooths out bumps and maintains a flat horizon. Alternatively, Barrel Roll allows for smooth rolling motions. There’s even Movilapse which is essentially a moving time-lapse.

One of the most interesting modes is Echo Mode, which allows you to set a start point, end point, and duration. From here you can move through your scene and let Movi capture your subject with smooth sweeping movements. You’ll get surprisingly professional-looking shots with minimal effort. All of this works using the free Movi app, which lets you shoot in 1080p and 4K at whatever framerate your device supports.

Movi can also take your production a step further with aftermarket accessories. These allow you to mount external lenses, microphones, and lights. On the bottom of the device, there’s a standard tripod mounting screw. The Movi gets around eight hours on a single charge and is powered by relatively inexpensive rechargeable 18650 batteries.

5. Moza Mini-MI

Moza is another familiar face in the gimbal space, and the Moza Mini-MI is their latest attempt at a smartphone stabilizer. It’s a neat little three-axis gimbal that doesn’t break with convention too much. It does offer a few unique features to stand out from the pack though.

The Mini-MI is the world’s first gimbal with wireless charging. Provided you own an iPhone that supports it, the Moza Mini-MI will keep your phone topped up while mounted. This reduces the need to carry extra cables. It’s likely a feature that’ll become commonplace in gimbals as it makes so much sense.

Moza also upped the payload limit to around 300g, which is almost 100g more than the other gimbals on this list. This allows you to mount additional equipment to your iPhone, like a clip-on lens, an external mic, or a light for illuminating interview subjects.

You also get a variety of follow modes and a companion app with tracking and timelapse features. You can control the gimbal using the joypad, record, and mode buttons, with a battery life of around 10 hours.

The Best Gimbal for iPhone Users

A smartphone gimbal is a great way to up your mobile videography game. As smartphones are so light, most gimbals have little trouble smoothing out unwanted movement. These devices are relatively inexpensive and are light enough that you could realistically carry them around all day.
