Rumors of the band's possible break up sprung when they cancelled the rest of their European Tour citing internal issues.

This may be good news for now, but I'm complacent for the future. I just hope Hayley Williams doesn't go diva and sells out to become an Avril Lavigne.

The said article can be found here. I'm a big rock and metal fan so shoot me if you want for saying this, but I LOVE Hannah Montana. That's why it came as a surprise to find out her older brother is in an emo band.

Tracey Cyrus, Miley Cyrus' (popularly known as Hannah Montana) brother, is the vocalist/guitarist of a Los Angeles band called Metro Station. Their music is a mix of emo and electronica and they have a self-titled album out now. If you ask me how they sound like, the closest thing I can come up with is Panic at the Disco with synthesizers.

I would be quick to note, though, that the band is fortunately self made. Tracey never used the Cyrus' family name to gain influence in the music circle. Upon listening to their music, I found out why. Their music is good and one certainly needs no coercing to listen to them.

Their music is certainly refreshing considering that most emo bands now sound so anguished. Their music is light and catchy and it's the kind of album I'd like to play on a long weekend drive. The lyrics are also not about the usual pain and lost. I don't find much poetry in their songs, but then they more than make up for it for their great sound.

You can listen to their singles at their MySpace and Pure Volume page. You can also sign up for updates via their official website at http://www.metrostationmusic.com/.

I am not a fan of them, although I'm not saying their music is bad. Maybe there are just things that you can't get over with if a band goes mainstream. There are things that I like about them, especially their charitable efforts. They've performed numerous times for the benefits of various Charitable Institutions and have donated part of their earnings to worthy causes.

Many purists have criticized Green Day for well, being mainstream. Those people find it rather insulting for bands like Green Day to be associating themselves with the punk genre. Based on sound alone, yes, Green Day certainly sounds punk. But the totality of the just doesn't come close. Punk is genre based on the belief of non-conventionality. And well, Green day is as mainstream as it can get. Just like what Johnny Rotten said, "They didn't earn their wings to do that and if they were true punk they wouldn't look anything like they do."

The reason I thought of writing about Green Day is because I recently heard they have been moonlighting once again, this time as a 60's rock influenced band. Most people might not know it but Green Day has been found to have secret side projects. When asked about it, the group denied being involved in that so called project.

The first rumored project was a new wave band called The Networks. You can find more information about the band through the very reliable Wikipedia.

Their new project, as I've previously mentioned, is a 60's rock influenced band called the Foxboro Hot Tubs. They will be releasing an album soon and all their music is downloadable through the band's website. You can also listen to their tracks via the band's Myspace page.
