This song is definitely destined to become subject to tens if not hundreds of remixes, maybe hundreds is a long-shot, however as of now this is the first great remix of this track that I’ve come across thus far, and I’m sharing it with you today. Dr. Jaymo’s taken Fun’s “We Are Young” and, all puns aside, added a real fun progressive HipHop spin to it which is quick to jump into the funnest part of the song.

When I first heard Two Door Cinema’s “What You Know”, I was instantly infatuated. In fact, on a lesser level, I still am. Allen Walker however, has just renewed those feelings of joy and given life to this track once more. The remix rightfully bears the “Re-Write” label in its title, as it sticks very closely to the original sound of the track, but plays back as if re-written by TDCC themselves.

Seeing as this was created with the original stems and vocals provided by TDCC for a remix contest back in 2010, there should be no harm in hosting a download. Enjoy!

Fun. We are young. Just listening to this song makes me happy. It has a very anthem sound to it that makes you want to go out drinking with your friends and have a crazy night, all the while you set the world on fire of course. Check out the video after the jump.

If you haven’t seen it by now, here’s the music video to Childish Gambino’s (aka Donald Glover) “Heartbeat” complete with Hot Cheeto’s and a make out session at some remote location, steamy stuff.

Something something awesome indeed. Dillon Francis just recently released his latest three track EP, Something, Something, Awesome, on Beatport.

I will try to beat the dead horse to no end during this post with the use of the word “awesome” to explain just how awesome it is.

Musically (an all other ways really), I’ve only been exposed to Dillon’s awesome “I.D.G.A.F.O.S.” (which apparently stands for “I don’t give a fuck or shit”) and more recently a slight reworking of it, “I.D.G.A.F.O.S. 2.0″, however I’m not entirely sure if that’s somebody else’s handywork or his own, regardless, I’m loving the awesome music and even more with this awesome release.

Below is just a taste of the EP.

SP-33 is back with a new project thats risen from the depths of his affection of murky burial underground music, like that of his last project, Escape from Tha Carter.

His latest undertaking, titled These Moments, includes five tracks, all of which house a flavor of “Burial/R&B House”, which is how SP-33 himself rightfully describes it, however it is a little less upbeat, explosive, and electronic than ‘Escape From Tha Carter’. Nonetheless, SP-33 does includes some well appreciated bits of vocal manipulation, which bounce around in the music, and can be heard predominantly in “Cold Around My Bones” and “Dream Catcher”. While SP-33′s definitely managed to establish a unique sound, one which he attributes to his roots in Chicago House and Folk, I’d say collaborations with artist’s to create music that combines his style of music and vocal manipulation, along with traditional vocals that carry out throughout the entire song, is the remaining second half of the equation.

New music from a new duo, known as the Newtimers. The Newtimers is the result of a spontaneous collaboration between two song writers/producers (Andreas Cavaco and Tim Lundblad) whom decided to embark on a project after they grew tired of writing and producing music for others.

As their first single together, “Falling” goes to show how right they were in doing that. It’s a really smooth record that I can only describe as 80′s disco pop. Their second track “January Love” is the second single from their upcoming release Ego, and it’s just as good. I’m not sure who plays what role, but there’s a lot of talent in between these two, and you should definitely keep an eye out for them.
