Eyes of the Raven were formed early 2009 by ex members of Hybrid Matthew Walters and Ross Pickett and Ulrich Pflanz of German based band Footgang. Initially it was a small NWOBHM project with only a 6-8 month plan and basic set up under the name Hellbound, in the coming months the 3 founding members felt they had latched onto something and decided to keep the project alive and turn to a more practical format, knowing that Ulrich was to return to Germany later that year the hunt was on for a drummer. Enters 17 year old Damon Cartwright, Ross had previously mentioned a project to Damon some months before and now Ulrich was departing it was the right time for him to get involved and add his influence to the mix......

Anders Griffen is a drummer, composer, and occasional trumpet player from Brooklyn, New York who works in various contexts including folk, jazz, pop, modern dance, and improvised music. His accompaniment is sought after for his rare sensitivity and supportive playing, his dynamic range, and deep musical vocabulary. In 15 years as a professional musician, he has appeared on over 25 recordings and has performed hundreds of concerts across the United States and abroad, including 10 tours of Europe. In 2010 he performed with different groups at the Primavera Festival in Barcelona, Lollapalooza in Chicago, and the End of the Road Festival in Dorset, England, and performed and/or recorded with Diane Cluck, The Bundles, Jeffrey Lewis & Peter Stampfel, The Walkmen, Alessi's Ark, Dufus, John Ludington, Elisa Flynn, and Barry Bliss. Tony Levin was a fantastic musician, both as a drummer and as a band leader. He has made a huge contribution to music in the Midlands, but was also a world class musician who toured frequently in Europe. He was a great educator, really respected and liked by students at Birmingham Conservatoire and elsewhere. And, above all, he was a warm and friendly person who always had time to talk about music, food, people and life in general.
