Fender Precision Bass for Sale

I really need to sell this AWESOME Bass, please pass this deal around if you know bands or bass players in the RVA area. I will ONLY sell this inside of the Richmond Virginia area! This bass was made from a Fender Kit, and sounds every bit as good as the store bought one. It has no logo, but if you know Fenders, then you know this. Butter yellow, has only been played a couple times, as it was meant for me, but my back can't handle the weight of a guitar of any kind. Small chip in the paint here or there, because I have no case, and it sits on a stand. Bass is worth $450, but will take best offer...

Note: It is actually worth in the $800 range, when doing the online research, so this deal gets sweeter with age LOL! Contact me if interested.

Filling my music blog up with Blink-182 stuff

It wasn't until Blink-182 announced that they were breaking up that I really grew to appreciate them. I always thought that Blink-182 would be around pumping out really great tunes that I would love signing along to while I'm driving around doing errands. Well those errands are different now that just those few years ago since they announced their break up. But I've also been keeping up a music blog and can't wait to start blogging about Blink-182 all of the time.

I was online checking out some other music blogs and while I was doing that I ran across the site http://www.domainnames.com/. Once I looked through it some, I bought a domain name and decided to change over my music blog to a website of my own.

I already have some information lined up about Blink-182 that I'm going to put in a bunch of blog posts about them. When it comes to blogging, preparation is key. It's always good to have some blog posts planned as back ups in case it's a slow day in music news.

Along with my music ventures, I have also been involved in hosting a fashion game network for people who like to play games, like dressing up virtual dolls. Almost 2 years ago, altho I am pretty adept at websites, the art of graphics escaped me. Then I started to play one doll game in particular, that has taught me tons about graphics, and has enabled me to finally learn, and grasp this media, while taking the designs that have been in my head so long, and being able to actual implement them into a visual creation.

Many people think games are just for kids, but they are wrong. I am 59, and am having the time of my life both learning and entertaining myself in this world of online virtual playgrounds.

Think again, if you think games are just for kids. You are and will be missing an amazing experience, and the ability to make friends with many like minded individuals.

Being an artist is a lot harder than a lot of people give it credit for. I for one, am on that cusp where I'm actually earning a living from my heart, but I'm not exactly rolling in dough. I feel like if I could just break into the next level, it really make a name for myself and money wouldn't be so tight. I can't stand the thought of having to get another part-time job because I can't sell enough art to scrape by. Recently, I subscribed to Clear4Ginternet so that I could use my laptop during my breaks at the gallery to look up potential art dealers and investors that may be interested in my work. I also subscribed to a few trade magazines to see who's looking, and I really think I'm on the path to networking myself to a career in this business. It's definitely not impossible to make a living as an artist, you just have to be a master marketer as well!

When and why did the City of Richmond turn against show business?

In the middle of the 20th century, officialdom in Virginia’s capital city used its powers to make it more difficult to offer entertainment to the public for profit. Laws and taxes were the tools. The unabashed racism that drove much policy 50 years ago was at the heart of why that strategy was set in motion.

Before World War II, Richmond was widely known for the vibrancy of its entertainment scene. The largest concentration of theaters and restaurants was downtown.

In the 1950s, with the Massive Resistance movement dominating Virginia’s politics, a social/political agenda entered the picture. The same guys who worked to prevent desegregation in public education decided that public entertainment should be discouraged, too. The same guys who wanted to keep blacks and whites drinking water from separate fountains, also wanted to see nightlife in Richmond confined mostly to private clubs.

In those days, cocktails -- liquor by the drink -- were only available in segregated, private bottle clubs and off-the-record speakeasies.

As they say, space is the final frontier. Quite sadly, this just wasn’t to be for one of the pioneers of social networking. Over time Myspace just became too cumbersome and ultimately limiting for people looking to enhance their real-life interactions with an online experience. And once you are limited in space, you begin seeking a way out.

Christmas is a wonderful time of year! My dad, my sister and myself enjoy one certain Christmas movie every year, and we watch it repeatedly when the marathon comes on. The marathon usually airs the entire week of Christmas...lucky for us! The movie was released the year I was born, in 1983.

"A Christmas Story" is one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time. We enjoy watching Ralphie and his dysfunctional family on satellite television. With the famous words of, "You're gonna shoot your eye out" and all the fuss about a Red Ryder BB gun, what is there to not love about this movie?

All three of us will sit around the Direct Star TV laughing until our stomachs hurt. My dad loves the part when Ralphie's parents receive the woman's leg lamp. His father sets it up on the table like it's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.

If you haven't seen "A Christmas Story", I highly suggest it! This movie is hysterical from beginning to end. From Ralphie's point of view, him and his little brother endure a really rough life. Bigger kids tease and torture them on their way to school, tongues are getting stuck to flag poles, and grown ups are denying Ralphie his Red Ryder BB gun. Sit back for two hours and enjoy the wonderful goodness of "A Christmas Story."

When I told the kids to think about which movies we were going to watch this Halloween season they spoke in unison "The Haunted Mansion." When I asked them why they liked watching that movie so much they said because Eddie Murphy acts so crazy and all kinds of really cool, spooky things happen in that movie. Kevin also added that he thinks Eddie Murphy is a really good dad in that movie. I think he is too. Even though at the beginning of the movie we found out real quick that he is a workaholic and it seems like he might put his work ahead of his family, that situation turns around by the end of the movie. I love the part where he teaches his son to stand up to his fear of spiders. It kind of put my heart in my throat the first time I watched it and realized that all of the people in the mansion are really ghosts. Murphy plays a real estate agent named Jim Evers and he really has to put up a good fight at the end to save his wife. We misplaced our dvd so we're going to watch it on Direct TV this year. I can't wait to hear the kids howling with laughter at the end when the busts are strapped to the top of the car singing "When the Saints Go Marching In."

A Day At The Park

When the sun is shining and my favorite baseball team takes the field, there's nothing more spectacular in my life. It's like nothing has ever happened before or will ever happen again, so there's nothing left to do but enjoy the roar of the crowd and the crack of the bat. That's the kind of overwhelming feeling I get when my team takes the field and begins passing the ball around to practice. It's like watching someone prepare for war, only the war is going to dazzle instead of sadden. A live game is one of the greatest pleasures in life, though my recent addition has made the live game about the same as another simple pleasure:

A professional baseball game captured in my living room is just as awesome as it is in person. I kick back on the couch, have some nachos and a few drinks, and take in all the action just like I would if it were live. If it's a beautiful day outside, the tv captures that beauty perfectly and I never feel as if I've missed out on anything. It saves an unbelievable amount of money too. Hot dogs are reasonably cheap at home, not at the park.

I would recommend an afternoon of baseball indoors. It's just as exciting.

Tee Time at the Beach!

I have never been one for any kind of sports, altho I know many of my friends and family are. One sport, that I have been told by players, is great exercise, fun and relaxing, is Golf. I had always associated having tee times with drinking a hot beverage and eating scones. I was very surprised to find out how many people I know actually love and have played golf for years.

We stayed up late talking the other night when the topic of superheroes came up. I vividly remember the Super Friends and their headquarters, The Hall of Justice; it was on at noon on Saturdays, back in the day. Wonder Twin powers activate! Wonder Twins powers deactivate! Please tell me I'm not the only that quotes the Wonder Twins. We were laughing as we remembered all the shows we used to watch and, of course, now that we finally signed up for satellite TV and got a direct tv dvr, we can watch them all again. Cool! I always liked Wonder Woman; it's a girl power thing. I took a survey online about what kind of superhero I am. It was just 5 minutes worth of generic questions. Do you like to be the center of attention? Are you honest? Do you like to wear a cape? To my surprise, it said that I was most like Spiderman. Go figure. They calculated all my answers and decided that I was smart, have a lot of responsibility and am slightly on the geeky side. I'm not sure if that was a compliment but it does match Spidey's characteristics. See how efficiently I use my time? LOL

Las Vegas – After 31 years of operation, the Liberace Museum will close its doors Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 to focus its monetary contributions on the Liberace Foundation.
Due to the economic downturn and the decline in the number of visitors, the Museum is forced to close the space and focus primarily on its dedication to the Foundation and the donation of scholarships.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we feel it is important to close the Museum to ensure the future of the Liberace Foundation and to keep the legacy of Liberace alive through its continued scholarship program,” said Jeff Koep, chair of the Liberace Foundation. “Since the inception of the foundation 34 years ago, more than $6 million in scholarships have been awarded to 2,700 students, and we will continue to award scholarships to deserving individuals.”
The memorabilia at the Liberace Museum will be maintained. A national touring exhibit is planned, and details will be announced at a later time. The board will also continue to research options for a location change to make the Museum more accessible to potential patrons.
“The traveling exhibit is an exciting way to share the life and legacy of Liberace while providing an income stream for the Foundation,” said Koep. “In no way do we intend to close the doors and not continue to explore options that will allow us to reopen at a later date.”
The Museum hours will be extended until the closing date, which will be announced at a later time.

====VOTING RULES====

Vote for Prince Poppycock and help him get to the next round of "America's Got Talent"! Your votes will keep him on the show so you can see what glamorous and entertaining acts he's preparing next for your viewing pleasure.

Voting starts right before this Tuesday's live episode ends. You'll have 2 hours to vote by text message or telephone after the show is over; you can also vote online until 6 am Eastern time. The best part is, whether you choose to vote one or all of these ways, you can vote more than once!

Here's an easy overview of the voting process (for full voting rules, visit http://www.nbc.com/americas-got-talent/vote/rules.shtml).

WHO CAN VOTE:Voting is open to all residents of the US and Puerto Rico. If you vote online, you must be 13 years of age or older.

WHEN TO VOTE:

All voting starts 5 minutes before the show ends on Tuesday night. (It's broken down by time zone, so that means that it doesn't start till the show is almost over in your area.) Text and telephone voting ends at 1 am PT/ET, and at 12 midnight in all other time zones. Online voting doesn't end until 6 am ET, so though that still gives you only two hours to vote online if you're in Hawaii, it gives you more time to vote in most other places.

HOW TO VOTE:

BY PHONE:"America's Got Talent" provides a different toll-free number for each contestant on the show. Each time you call counts as a single vote; you can call to vote up to 10 times from each phone number you call in from. Make sure your caller ID is unblocked before you call or the vote won't count!

BY TEXT SMS MESSAGE: (For AT&T customers *only*)If you have an AT&T cell phone, you can also vote for Poppycock by text! You're allowed to vote up to 10 times by text from the same phone, (standard messaging charges will apply) but make sure it's an AT&T phone or it won't count. To vote by text, send the word "VOTE" to the 4-digit code that "America's Got Talent" will display next to Poppycock's name during the show. You'll receive a text reply thanking you for your vote, so make sure it's okay to send and receive this many messages before you vote by SMS.

ONLINE:To vote online you must have a user account at NBC.com and be 13 years of age or older. All you need to do is log onto NBC.com when online voting opens (5 minutes before the live episode ends) and follow the links to vote.
