Every year Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5th September every year. On this day I would like to remember some teachers from my school days. I passed my HSLC Exam. (popularly known as Matric Exam.) in the year 1989 from Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School. During those days our school was among the very few schools which were still producing 1st Divisioners and a few position holders despite the fact that the pvt. schools started producing majority of 1st Divisioners and position holders. Many of my classmates are now responsible Officers, Managers, Businessmen etc.

After my matriculation I got admitted in CC Hr. Sec. School. CC School was arguably the best Sr. Sec. School of the time. By then pvt. Sr. Sec. Schools were very few. Many of my classmates from CC School are also now reputed Doctors, Engineers, Police Officers, Army Officers etc.

We owe our success(though I myself am not a very successful person like my other friends) to our teachers of the time. Most of them were teachers by their own choice. They could have become Officers in any Department as they were among the very few Graduates and Post Graduates of their time. Today a pvt. School is run by a few teachers for every subjects, some even by a lone teacher. But in our time Ramlal Paul had 6/7 teachers for English alone that too of the best kind. Any one of them could easily run a big pvt. school of the day. Today we could at least communicate in written or spoken English because of them. Only drawback that we had during those days was that we didn’t give much importance to spoken English. We communicated with our teachers and friends in Manipuri only. The word meanings were also given in Manipuri which made us a little tongue tight in our later days.

I could remember some of my teachers never taking part in strikes for pay revision as they were never concerned with what they were getting as their salary. I could also remember the then Principal of CC School Ojha Priyojit openly supporting the students when we were on strike against the erection of a village deity inside our school campus as it would disturb the academic atmosphere. He was never afraid of actions from the higher authority and predictably nobody took action against him. He was a person who once asked the Director of School Education to transfer him to Ukhrul as he had never been posted in Ukhrul. Today teachers run from pillar to post to get themselves posted in Schools of their choice. What a difference!

I am thinking of writing a long article about my teachers one day. Today teaching becomes a good profession for earning a big sum of money while for some it becomes a secure job which brings them a regular income without going to work everyday or many days together.

We were very fortunate to get them as our Teachers. Today whenever I think of my teachers I feel like touching their feet and say, ‘Ojhabu hanna hanna thagatchari’.

Sitting at my office I was focussing on my works with the rhythm of continuance.
My life was busy holding my ego and unsafe job,
and worried that someone would stold it.
My heart is on my sentimental ego and the temporaily things of the world.
I was very worried of my unsafe world…….!
But….., that very day………..ha…..ha………
Yes, that very day……….,
That day was hot and humid with no possibility of rain and wind……that things annoying me.
Returning to my place, I was so anxiety and up-sad that my pub nose turned redish and enternally I was murmmering and claiming how on earth I’m toralerating these.
I started objecting not only my clients and collegeous but God’s gifted natural things also.
And these things made me tired completely, I was looking for shadowy place to comfort myself.
While sitting under mommoth tree I loose my neck tie, unbotton my purple shirt, removed my shoe and,
When I was about kept my shiny black beg recklessly I came under notice there…………..
beside me a group of tiny and charming flower planting.
And suddenly everything change…………..,
the soft wind started blewing at my direction and everything I saw is changed………!
I sensed lovely smell emitting from the tiny rosy bunch of flower,
and my eyes lid forgot to blink !
Slowly I lied down more closer beside the rosy bunch of flower.
I felt so soft from the tiny flowers that un-noticely without fear tears fallen from the rock heart and rock melt away all my ego and show-box personality seeing the bunches of flower waving and dancing together getting the pleasure of their of their belove soft wind.
They were well happy making step by step supporting one another in a single move………,
From long time I hasn’t show such bondage of love and giving, trust and unity……………..,
Then I felt what I had lost,
I left everything running somtime behind or sometime parallel to the worldly things which is still not mine.
Time runs so fast that I completely lost way back to home………..Huh…….
HOME………! HOME Sweet HOME !
After a long breath I looked at my watch it was qiut late almost midnight.
So, I wished and kiss the beautiful tiny bunch of rosy flower and greeted them from the corner of my heart, because they remember my forgotten past and poking me to my past sensible heart.
That very momment I felt alive……….!
Suddendly, an old gardener torched me saying Son, it qiut late, GO HOME !
