/>
"Spaces" showcase the dynamic blend of photography and painting. The exhibition displays the synergy that exists between those who are shunned and isolated by the society due to their intellectual disability and those who are loved and revered by society for their artistic genius. The former provides an inspiration for the latter who further develops it into a thing of beauty.
Through the exhibition, Society for Child Development is seeking to provide exemplary models of education and employment to those with intellectual disabilities. The show started on Saturday evening 4th October, 2008 at Open Palm Court gallery, India Habitat Center with the inaugural lamp being lit by children Jyoti, Anmol & Jatin studying in Prabhat.
Art as a medium explores the depth of human emotion. It is this very ethos that attracts all sensitive artists to the organization and vice versa. In this 19th exhibition of Art for Prabhat showcasing their work are five young photographers Sunny Khullar, Mazhar Elahi, Udit Kulshrestha, Sunnando Mazumdar, Sanjay Nanda and an equally young painter Babli Das. For some of these intrepid artists this is their first show. Needless to say, what a wonderful opening to a beautiful career – with the gift of a bit of oneself to those who have little or no choices!
The Artists: A motley group, bound by a collective thought
Babli Das, the sole woman and the sole painter hails from Tripura and compliments the abstracts of the "Spaces" exhibits with myriad convolutions of her own.
Mazhar Elahi, a National Award winner of 2008 uses his wide and varied experience in Design and other visual Arts as complements of his photographic lens. JS (Sunny) Khullar, captains a Jet Airways Boeing when he is not shooting landscapes or the monuments of Delhi.
Sanjay Nanda, an economist by education, a graphic designer by profession and a photographer by passion.
Sunando Mazumdar, yet another self-taught photographer and film maker, has exhibited in Delhi and Dubai.
Udit Kulshshrestha, a self taught inquisitive photographer and a traveler – more a voyager of the visual senses – he explores the mediums of motion imagery, literature & creative writing, philosophy, design and music to hone his pictorial perspectives.
Art for Prabhat is a unique endeavor adopted by one of the Capital's leading NGOs' working in the field of disabilities. The Society for Child Development started their venture in 1992 with an exhibition inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi. And from then till date there has been no looking back. On this occasion to support the debutant singer well-known anchor (IPL) & actor Sameer Kochar was also present there, who himself is a die-hard music lover and fortunately a friend of Rupali.
Rupali Dalal has recently released her album "Badra" which mesmerizes her listeners with fusion music. Rupali is able to sing with rare insights into each raga, adding a passion that is at once enchanting and riveting. She has been very creative to bring together different aspects of Indian culture, fused with contemporary melodies. The album signifies the love which unfolds between two lovers, longing for each other's presence. It incorporates music from different genres starting from rhythmic Arabic influences to soulful, full throated Rajasthani folk, 'Badra' continues to live up to its propaganda.
Being released by Times music the album is a delightful, refreshing blend of different genres, gathering into its mellifluous fold such an eclectic styles as lounge, Sufi Rock, Punjabi Folk, Hip Hop, Rajasthani folk and Hindi pop fusion.
Rupali is overwhelmed with the response she's getting for her efforts. About her experience she said this is a romantic album which consists of 9 songs out of which 2 are remixes. The music has been scored by Sanjeev-Darshan while renowned lyricist Sameer has penned the lyrics for 'Badra'. It takes almost 5-6 months to complete this album and it was a great learning experience for me. She said 'Badra' spreads the message of love, it signifies the love which unfolds between two lovers and longing for each other's presence.
About her personal favourite she said though I have rendered all the songs from my heart and I like them all but the title track 'Badra' is very special to me. Being an exponent of renowned Kirana Gharana of Hindustani Classical Music, I have treated classical ragas with modern techniques to make them listener friendly. We have also used classical instruments like Sarangi, Flute, Sarod & Sitar etc. to keep the classical base. The video of title track has also been made which was shot at Jaisalmer Fort the video is directed by Sumit Dutt and is being applauded by the audiences.
On this occasion Sameer congratulated Rupali for the success of her album. Since I belong to Delhi its wonderful being here to support my friend Rupali, she has done such a great work in this album and I personally feel pleased when I came to know that she's in town to promote her album.
Rupali Dalal is a versatile Vocalist-one of the few prominent women exponent of the prestigious Kirana Gharana of Hindustan Classical Music, who has also gathered acclaim for her ventures into several other genres of music. She has successfully blended her strong base in classical music with several different styles and genres and her performances worldwide over the years have won her many plaudits. After decade of pursuit of music and training under luminaries like Ustad Niaz Ahemad Khan, Ustad Shahid Pervez Khan, and Pandit Murli Manohar Shukla and myriad concert later, Rupali is ready to enthrall music lovers with her first album 'Badra'.
Rupali belongs to the Kirana Gharana of Hindustani classical music which represents one of the most resplendent traditions of music in India. Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Gangubai Hangal have been the most prominent artists of this Gharana, in which music is offered like a flowing, dancing stream which both energizes and cools the mind and sets the soul on its path of divine bliss. She has been trained in the Kirana Gharana gayaki by the maestro Niaz Ahmed Khan who belongs to the legendary duo Niaz Ahmed Khan and Fayaaz Ahmed Khan. Together they have produced music -magic with their fantastic tans, brilliant ornamentation and colourful presentation of ragas. These qualities are well reflected in Rupali's music. She sings with a rare insight into each raga, adding a touch of passion.
- flaMbe entertainment

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://www.my-india.net/pr/2008/10/delightful-refreshing-blend-of.shtml" title="A delightful, refreshing blend of different genres... To grace the occasion with melodious voice famous Manhar Udas was there. He sang some of his famous bhajans like-Sai Ne Jaha Jaha Bhi Jyoti Jalai Hai,Baba Ki Palki,Gale bhajan, sai bhajan.
Many other VIP guest were there such as Peruvian Ambassador Corlos Yrigoyen with wife Regina really enjoyed the sandhya and also lifted the palki, Sandeep Marwah with wife, In today scenario of so much of cast discrimination between Hindu, muslims ,Christians and other caste Molana Iliyasi and Dr.M.D.Thomas was also there and enjoyed wholeheartedly , MP Ashok Pradhan,Gaziabad also sung devotional bhajan.
Stuti Mittal a 13 year old girl with sweet lovely voice, daughter of Mahi Mittal also sang bhajan 'Ghat ghat me panchhi bolta hai'.
Asit Mittal brother of Mahi Mittal celebrated his birthday with this auspicious occasion. All the devotees of thoroughly enjoyed the Bhajan Sandhya with lots of chants and claps. After the bhajans palki was taken out and then the Arti of Sai Baba happened.
On the other side there was a huge arrangement for Food and prasadam for every one. The whole event was very nice and the devotees really seem to get connected with Sai.
Sai baba strongly believed in uniformity of religion and he never distinguished anyone on the basis of caste, creed or religion. All were treated by him alike. Under his umbrella, both the Hindus and Muslims happily took part in each others religious festivals. The caste scheme of the Hindus had no relevance with Shri Sai.
- He practiced and preached humanism and universal brotherhood - prophet like.
- He established the superiority of love and compassion above egoism - Christ-like.
- He taught simplicity of livelihood and excellence of human virtue reflected in day to day conduct, Buddha-like.
Today, the world is looking ahead for a magical solution to its problems of cultural, racial, national and religious differentiation. All intellectual exercises to bring about peace in -the world and happiness to mankind has failed for these efforts are not based on humanism, universalism and love as taught by Shri Sai. The ever multiplying number of Sai temples and devotees of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba in India and other countries establishes the ever- increasing relevance of His Preachings today. Jesus as an human embodiment is gone but the spirit of Jesus remains. The body of Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi cannot be seen but the magnetic pull of His Divine Soul is felt by all those who merely think of Him and particularly, those who visit His tomb at Shirdi. Baba had promised that whosoever would put his feet on the soil of Shirdi, his miseries would end or marginalise.

Music launch of 'Tanha'

Recently, "Tanha"Debut album of Amit Tandon was launched in Delhi by 'Tips Music.'
The event was hosted by Mukesh Gupta (MD), Graphisads. Before Amit Tandon's performance every one kept silence for 2 min. in condolence for the blast. The Silk Bazaar
is being organized to provide sustainable livelihood support to women
workers involved in home based silk weaving in Bhagalpur.
SEWA BHARAT is a National Federation of SEWA organizations with the mandate
to highlight the issues of women working in the informal sector, and works
towards strengthening the capacity of its constituents such as SEWA
Bhagalpur.
Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA), a women's trade union that was
started in Gujarat in 1972 with the aim of organising women in the informal
sector. SEWA represents the convergence of three movements: labour, women
and cooperative. In the year 2007, with approximately 12 lakh women members,
SEWA is India's largest membership-based organization for women working in
the informal sector.
Based on the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, SEWA's goal is to achieve full
employment and self-reliance for all its members. Full employment is
employment that provides work security, income security, food security and
social security; and self-reliance refers to economic self–sufficiency and
equitable roles in the decision-making process. These goals are achieved
through a strategy of "struggle and development". The struggle is against
the many constraints imposed on women by the society and the economy, and
the development activities are to strengthen women's collective bargaining
power and provide them with new sustainable alternatives.
SEWA Bhagalpur was found in 1982, with the support of SEWA Bharat. SEWA
Bhagalpur initially started working with self-help groups. However, it has
since grown and diversified its work significantly, with a current
membership of over 11,000 women workers. These women are engaged in various
activities in the unorganised sector. A large number of SEWA members are
involved in silk based weaving.
Bhagalpur is well known for silk production. The weavers belong to the
muslim community. There is a great demand for these fabrics both in India
and abroad. SEWA Bhagalpur has been working with women in the area for over
a decade. The Bhagalpur riots did dampen this rich activity to some extent.
In an attempt to revive its activities in the region, SEWA Bhagalpur has
been providing inputs in organizing groups, design development and marketing
opportunities to various groups of weavers since 2005.
This exhibition provides an opportunity to the women weavers of Bhagalpur to
show their talent, skill and resilience. The Silk Bazaar represents colour,
tradition and exclusivity that these women are living with.
<link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" time Indian tradition, arts, culture, music and tourism have always been attracting the foreigners due to which our culture has been respected globally. Like the cultural world, corporate world also rated India as great opportunity to work. In last few years art field has changed quite rapidly and the artists from both India and abroad are attracted to work together and share their cultural heritage which is a great sign for art and artists.
Collaboration of Indo-British art is the painting exhibition 'British Art in India with Friends' organised by Studio Vasant in association with MKC Roko Cancer Charitable Trust and Xross PolyNation at their gallery premises. The exhibition has paintings by Graham Clarke (An ambassador of Kent), Nick Tidnam (RBA), Brian Lewiss, Tikki Gullands, Mike Hutchings, Cas Holmes, James Hornton (VPRBA) (British Artists) and Victor Vijay Kumar, Alka Raguvanshi, Manoj Mantra, Sangetha K Murthy, Baljit Chadha, Kota Neelima, Indu Tripathy, Prince Chand, P.K. The core vision behind the trust is to bring awareness of breast cancer among women and to provide early detection, leading to treatment wherever possible. Mr. Chawla is working with Cherie Blair, Baroness Amos, Baroness Verma, Lord Karan Billimoria, Lord Dholokia, Keith Vaz, Geoff Hoon, Sandra Howard, Sarah Kennedy and many other prominent dignitaries in UK to highlight the disease among ethnic minorities. The Trust has launched India's first fully equipped Mobile Breast Cancer Detection Unit for the women living in the semi urban and rural areas of India. The Trust provides free mammography and ultrasound to the women in the detection camps with the results on the spot. The Trust has the medical support of leading hospitals in India.
An effort that voiced its appeal loud and clear "Roko Cancer" - It could happen to you. The movement gained momentum soon and as volunteers and cause driven partners joined hands globally, Roko Cancer's clarion call started reaching out its buzzword of "awareness" to the farflung rural and semi urban areas of India, at a fast and furious pace. A first ever Mobile Cancer Detection bus that takes a journey for a cause through the tough terrains of Punjab, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and soon M.P and Maharashtra, has in a short span touched a figures that is nothing less than remarkable. It inspires an undying spirit of waging a war against ignorance towards Breast Cancer Globally. The mission of the trust is to launch a number of detection units in every state of India. The Trust has also initiated campaign in Pakistan whereby the Mobile breast cancer detection unit will travel to Pakistan for three months in association with a Breast Cancer Charity in Pakistan to do free awareness and detection camps for the women. The unit will also travel to other South Asian countries in the near future.

50th Magsaysay award function

Changing Asia; forging partnerships, building sustainability, the Indian perspective at 50th Magsaysay award function

The 50th anniversary of the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay foundation felt the resonance of Indian voice and an innovative view in contrast with the established US dominated view for development in Asia.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary a grand conference held at Manila, Phillipines from the 29 to the 31st of August before the yearly award giving ceremony.
The uniqueness of the conference was the presence of all the living Magsaysay awardees of last 50 years (As the Magsaysay Awardee from India was Binova Bhave in 1958)right there in plenary sessions along with Young social activists, to discuss the various subjects which ranged from 'Resolving Asia's conflicts and Asia's contradictions to building sustainability in Asia' to 'Poverty and Inequality' to 'Managing social Conflicts'.
Indian side categorically refuted the ideas like privatisation of water to eradicate poverty and corporatisation of NGO's for their sustainability. There were various other issues discussed to eradicate social conflicts including alternative methods of conflict resolution encompassing not only socio-political but even military aspect.
The Indian side was led by leading voices of India like M.S. Swaminathan, Arun Shourie and Rajendra Singh etc. Who propagated Indian issues with very potent voices. "RAMKALI - THE GOOD WOMAN OF DELHI" ably guided by renowned theatre director, Arvind Gaur, choreographed by internationally famous young dance Guru Sooraj Katoch.
The Play based on 'The Good Woman of Setzuan' originally written in German by Bertolt Brecht adapted in Hindi by Amitabh Srivastava, lyrics by 'Aaja Nachle' & 'Tashan' famed Piyush Mishra, composed by Dr. Sangeeta Gaur & music design by Sandy. The play features artists of Zenith Academy along with a few actors from Asmita Theatre group and produced by young theater activist Ritu Soni Kapoor.
The play revolves around a virtuous prostitute called Ramkali, who is blessed by the gods to remain good all her life, even among wrong doers. To justify their existence, the gods have to find a single good person, living a life worthy of a human being. They travel throughout the countryside, unable to find lodging in Delhi; they meet Ramkali, who takes them in. The gods take pity on her and contrive to give her a share of money. With this windfall, Ramkali promptly gets into trouble. We come to the climax when Ramlal (a self-declared hero) enters the scene.
It could not have been better for city's thousands of theater connoisseurs who were enthralled by a two-days scintillating dance drama Ramkali "The Good Woman of Delhi". The thoughtful play leaves a lasting impression by pricking the conscience of many. It also exemplifies the dual approach of those who tend to take a high moral ground. Cliched it may sound, the compelling play forces us to again think who is right and who is wrong.
During the two days play theatre lovers Sonal Mansingh, Shammi Narang, Arvind Gaur, Mukesh Gupta, Ritu Soni, Sooraj Katoch, Vandana Vadhera, Vipin Aneja were present there.

Kaliyon Ka Chaman... If such kind of situation is there in case of a celebrity then I think common man is not safe at all."

He said, "I tried to contact his friends who were present and were there with him but I was not provided the number of anyone and they were not ready to talk.

When the body was handed over to us and we opened the zip, the forehead had a cut in front and clots on right side on head with blood in nose and mouth.
Is it ever possible that one can drown in a pool of 5 star hotel? That too a six feet tall boy can drown in 4-4.5feet water level, this thing is just not believable.
Vyom who was with him told us that he kept saying Ishmeet not to go inside as it is deep but the question is ,one can drowned not get injured.
Why will he just after lunch go to pool for bath? That too with t-shirt and when he has event the next day…
Did he really drowned or was he made to drown.

Charan Singh his uncle said, "When we got the news, we had prepared ourselves but as soon as we saw his body things were speaking loud and clear. Clot on Hematoma which is only possible when something hard strike the nerves and crush the blood vessels. Another question was he should be filled with water but Ishmeet had blood in mouth and nose.

As the story told, he walked and sunk in such a condition the lightest part was on top and heavier was down then how was it possible that his head strike the bottom of pool. And that too got badly hurt which can't happen as water act as a resistance.

We request media to please take the charge to clarify whether he drowned or was made to drown. The postmortem do not clarify it.
When he was taken to hospital they specified that drowning seems to be the secondary cause of death then what was the primary cause of death. The event made every one sing the song 'CRAZY KIYA RE...'. Forty of the world's best vintage motorbikes from the world participated in the event. Amongst the many riders was Bollywood's Bad Man 'Gulshan Grover', who was the main attraction for the people present there.

Flagged off by the Bad Man Gulshan Grover himself, the drives took a drive around the Asiad Village Complex. It was a unique experience for Delhittes. During the drive the main attraction of the viewers were the bikes of 1898 and 1930 which were almost 100 and 75 years old respectively.

Modern bikes are said to be the first choice of youngsters today but the enthusiasm of the young generation during the rally showed that old bikes have their own charm.

The second Brandsmith vintage & classic bike drive is an initiative by leading brand promotions company Brandsmith, which also successfully manages the Statesman Vintage car rally apart from other national and international events, essentially to support, preserve & encourage vintage biking in India. "Vintage bikes are often neglected with large vintage collectors focusing more on cars and hence Brandsmith came up with this drive to highlight & showcase these timeless machines, apart from providing the bikers their moment of glory," explained Rahul Mittra, CEO, Brandsmith.

Mahesh Kapoor (MD, Asiad Village Complex) congratulated Brandsmith for organising this unique achievement and said this is a wonderful event through which people will be aware about Vintage Biking in India and in the near future they will take part with more excitement.

Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover, a great vintage enthusiast himself said, "I have shared a very special relationship with Brandsmith and am delighted having participated in this year's bike drive."

On this occasion Carlos Yrigoyen (Deputy High Commissioner of Peru) with wife, Gurinder Singh, Sandeep Marwah, Mahesh Kapoor, Ramesh Nambiyar, Rahul Mittra & his wife amongst others were present there.
- flaMbe entertainment

An art show with a difference

It was an art show with a difference. For one, all the four artists are trained in classical dance and multi tasking women, and for another, even the person inaugurating the show was a dancer and a successful lawyer. The show, 'Lighting the Way', by contemporary artists Dr Alka Raghuvanshi, Manisha Gawade, Babita Gupta and Anita Kulkarni, opened at Studio Vasant and was inaugurated by Rashmi Vaidialingam, who lauded the fluid movement in their work as she quoted a beautiful poem on the feminine power to chose who they wish to be.

All the artists are known for their fascinating insight into relationships and spirituality. Their chosen forms are abstracts and figurative with an interesting twist. They converged to put on board nearly 50 works that are in vibrant hues and use metallic colours as symbols of purity.

The art community turned up in good measure to support their fellow artists as did women multi taskers from other walks of life. Those seen admiring the works were Mukta Jain, chairperson of the FICCI Flow, wife of the Swedish Ambassador, Delice, owners of the Metropolitan hotel Kavin Gupta, diplomats Angela and Hans Hoertnagel from the Austrian Trade Commission, artists Kanchan Chander, Gagan Vij, Niren Sengupta, Sangeet Gandhi, Baljit Chaddha and Vijay Victor.

Pt.
