Dumb criminals will do almost anything to get out of a DUI. That is why any World’s Dumbest Criminals story that involves a DUI is sure to please. This story from Oregon is no exception. I have written about some of the World’s Dumbest Criminals. We have had people arrested for DUI show up to court drunk and even get a second arrest the same night. However, today’s World’s Dumbest Criminal by far has to be one of the weirdest we have had.

Craig Snow is a 49 year old citizen of Oregon. Recently, Craig Snow was arrested for a DUI. This was not this World’s Dumbest Criminal’s first DUI arrest. He had been arrested on DUI charges once before. While riding his Harley, police saw probable cause to pull him over. Craig Snow’s blood alcohol was measured at over two times the legal limit.

Getting arrested for a DUI was only the beginning of this World’s Dumbest Criminal’s antics. RegisterGuard.com reported, “An Oregon man is accusing Idaho police officers of destroying the mystical qualities of his Native American medicine bag when they opened it during a drunken driving arrest last summer.” (Man sues police over ‘mystical’ bag, 2010) Craig Snow is suing the police for $25,000. We certainly will need to follow this case. Is it possible for someone to commit a crime then sue over the subsequent search. I do not know, but it seems that this member of the World’s Dumbest Criminals wants to find out.

World’s Dumbest Criminal Steal Diamond Ring And Tries To Sell To Local Jeweler

Since I live in Missouri, this World’s Dumbest Criminal story caught my eye. It comes from Joplin, Missouri. One of the World’s Dumbest Criminals decided to steal a 2 carat diamond ring. It is not surprising that a criminal would steal a 2 carat diamond ring, especially one worth about $20,000. However, what this member of World’s Dumbest Criminals did with the ring is hilarious.

After stealing the ring, the criminal did not take it to a fence. He took a picture of the ring and sent it to every local jeweler. Of course, he did not even send it to local jewelers in another town. This World’s Dumbest Criminal sent the picture to every local jeweler, in Joplin, Missouri. It stands to reason that someone might recognize the ring.

A local jeweler did recognize the ring. The jewelery store owner quickly formulated a plan to catch this member of the World’s Dumbest Criminals club. When the criminal showed up, the jeweler took the chance to stall him. The jeweler was stalling him for the police. The police quickly showed up.

This World’s Dumbest Criminal was not done with his escapades yet. When the police showed up, this criminal swallowed the ring. This could have ended very badly. As you could imagine, a diamond ring was not meant to be in the human body. If a diamond can cut glass then imagine what it would do to your intestines. Well, this World’s Dumbest Criminal did get a reprieve, the ring did not cut up his system. When being questioned by the police, the criminal caughed up the diamond. Well at least his antics did not put him in hospital, only in his prison.

Any story involving a naked person is bound to be funny. When you add in being drunk and trying to fight deputies then you have a hilarious story. This is exactly what one Florida man did to join the World’s Dumbest Criminals.

Bloggernews.net reported, “A Bay County man arrested for shoplifting had a request for deputies: let him drink the beer he stole. He became combative when they refused.” (Florida’s Dumbest Criminals, 2010). This is not the only Floridian joining the ranks of the World’s Dumbest Criminals. Fox Tampa lists several more stories of World’s Dumbest Criminals:

“A Marion County deputy pulled over a naked man riding a motorcycle. Turns out the cyclist was drunk. He was one of many naked people in the news.Weird? Odd? Bizarre? That’s Florida.

A naked 21-year-old man covered in feces was arrested in Martin County after jumping into a neighbor’s pool. A Clearwater woman knocked on a stranger’s door in the middle of the night asking for cigarettes. She was naked.

A naked 91-year-old Lake Worth man held a 26-year-old burglar at gunpoint until police arrived.
Another burglar trying to rob an elderly man wasn’t so lucky. The 24-year-old broke in to a Liberty County home waving a toy gun and was shot and killed by an 82-year-old homeowner with the real thing.

A Fort Pierce man was charged with stealing $22 worth of aluminum cans from a scrap yard and then returning the next day to try to sell them back. A man tried stealing a live ferret in Jacksonville Beach by stuffing it down his pants. A Dade City man was charged with stealing 19 packages of deodorant to pay off a drug debt.

Usually this works in reverse, but a man was caught trying to break INTO the Brevard County jail he was released from the week before.

Two men wandering through a Deltona neighborhood asked a deputy for a ride home. The deputy said sure, but only after he could search them. They said sure, and the deputy found cell phones, GPS devices and a box of strawberry-flavored Pop Tarts stolen from neighborhood cars.

Crime and food intersected a few times in Florida this past year. Volusia County authorities arrested a 19-year-old after his mother said he threw a taco at her for unplugging his video game system.

A Dunnellon woman was arrested after allegedly hitting a man in the head with a raw steak after he refused a piece of sliced bread. A Gainesville father was arrested for hitting his daughter with a pizza slice when she wouldn’t turn off a computer.”

These stories definently range into the bizarre. These stories may place Florida into the number 1 spot as home to the World’s Dumest Criminals.

Meth Cooker Passes Out At Gas Pump

This story comes from Murfeesboro, Tennessee. Since I used to live in Tennessee this story caught my eye. A gas station attendant checked on a person passed out in their car. The gas station attendants findings would elevate one criminal to the status of one of the World’s Dumbest Criminals.

A man in Tennessee became one of the World’s Dumbest Criminals for cooking meth in his car. Cooking meth would definently make him a dumb criminal; however, cooking meth in the backseat and going to a gas station makes it worse. Today’s dumb criminal went even one step further. While cooking meth in his car, he drove into a gas station to get gas. This World’s Dumbest Criminal then passed out in his car.

When the gas station attendant checked on him, he found the meth lab. Of course, the gas station attendant called the police. The police found the meth lag and arrested this world’s dumbest criminal. This criminal now faces fines and jail time. Meth cooking is a stupid and dangerous activity. Openly cooking meth and driving into a gas station is extremely stupid. This member of world’s dumbest criminals could have blown up himself, the gas station, and every one near there.

DWIs can be received in any motorized vehicle. We have heard of people getting DWIs for driving riding lawnmowers, go carts, even mopeds, however, today’s Worlds Dumbes Criminal takes the cake.

Today’s Worlds Dumbest Criminal comes from Proctor, Minnesota. This Worlds Dumbest Criminal got a DWI for driving his motorized recliner. Yahoo News reported, “A criminal complaint says 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.” (Man pleads guilty to DWI in motorized La-Z-Boy, 2009)

Today’s World Dumbest Criminal drove his motorized recliner into a parked car. SunTimes.com reported, “Prosecutors say Anderson’s blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, when he crashed into a parked vehicle in August 2008.” (Man pleads guilty to DWI in motorized La-Z-Boy, 2009)

This was no ordinary La-Z-Boy. This Worlds Dumbest Criminal had upgraded this La-Z-Boy the way rappers upgrade their Cadillac Escalades. This Worlds Dumbest Criminals added a steering wheel, cup holders, and even a stereo to his recliner. DUIAttorney.com reported:

“The chair itself was powered by a lawnmower engine. The vehicle was decked out with a cup holder, stereo and other custom details. The man was using a steering wheel to drive the recliner down the road. In Minnesota, any motor vehicle operation while intoxicated is not permitted under the law. Today’s Worlds Dumbest Criminal will not be driving his motorized recliner anytime soon. He had to forfeit his recliner to police. This Worlds Dumbest Criminal was sentenced to two years probation. Not too bad for driving a motorized recliner while drunk.

Police in Pennsylvania nabbed a real pothead – literally. A police officer spotted 29-year-old Cesar Lopez inside a convenience store with a bag of marijuana stuck to his forehead. It seems Cesar was hiding his pot inside his baseball cap when it slipped down onto his forehead while he was in the store. The officer peeled the bag off Cesar’s head and arrested him. They did the stunt in hopes of landing a reality TV show….and it involved reporting that their 6-year-old son Falcon had floated away in a giant helium weather balloon…..when he was really safe and sound at home. The couple now face conspiracy charges, contributing to the delinquincy of a minor, making a false report to authorities and attempting to influence a public servant. A 23-year-old man in Little Rock, Arkansas, lost his wallet during an attempted robbery. This guy robbed a man at gunpoint at his home, then ran off and dropped his wallet in the process. That’s bad enough, but you won’t believe what happened next: the thieving dumbass called the victim and asked him to return his wallet by bringing it to a gas station. The police happened to be at the victim’s house when the dumbass called, so they went to the gas station and found the guy waiting outside for his wallet to be returned. Lady Tries To Avoid Arrest By Stripping In Front Of Her Kids At Convenience Store

A Sheboygan Wisconsin woman becomes one of the Worlds Dumbest Criminals by deciding that stripping naked, in front of her kids, would be a good way to avoid arrest. Julia E. Laack was in a Cheboygen convenience store. Bumb Shack stated, “A 36 year-old woman, named Julia E. Laack, from Wisconsin stripped off her clothes in front of her children to avoid arrest after being caught stealing a bag of beef jerky and a lighter at a convenience store on Friday (October 9).” (Julia E. Laack Strips Naked To Avoid Arrest (Mug Shot, Video), 2009) It really sounds like she was caught at the store, however, that would be a straigh forward story. This story is anything but straight forward.

This Worlds Dumbest Criminal was shopping with her husband and kids when she decided to steal the lighter and bag of beef jerky. The family had stopped at a convenience store in Sheboygan. News Around The Globe reported, “The surveillance camera showed the video in which Julia could be seen stealing the beef jerky and dumping it in her bag while putting the lighter in the back of her jeans.” (Julia E. Laack, 2009) Store management notified police about the theft.

Police around at this Worlds Dumbest Criminals home around 7:00 PM. She was under the mistaken impression that you cannot be arrested, if you are naked. She began kicking, screaming, kicked one officer in the groin, and mooned passers by while in the squad car. This Worlds Dumbest Criminals is now facing multiple charges. What a mother to have!

Thieves are lowlifes anyway, but today’s dumbass took it to a new low. A woman in New Brighton, Pennsylvania put a forged $50 check in a church offering plate and then stole a woman’s wallet from the pew she was sitting in. The dumbass then took the stolen wallet and used a credit card to buy about $200 worth of merchandise from a convenience store. Apparently the woman makes a habit of stealing from people at churches – she tried to use a credit card stolen from another chuch to get a $16,000 cash advance from a bank. Canadian Journal of Neurology: Man Stick Ball Point Pen in His Urethra

Neal Bortz was talking about stupid stories today. He began talking about a guy in Canada who found a very odd way to get “one off”. He decided to stick a ball point pen in his urethra. For anyone who does not know what that is, let’s just say, it is a place that most men would not stick anything in. However, this guy decided it might feel good. Boortz stated that this gentleman inserted the ball point pen, thinking that it would feel good. When it hurt, he did not pull it out. He thought that it was not in far enough, so he inserted it further. Unable to get it out, he went to the hospital. I could not believe that anyone would do this, so I searched for the original story. Here is what I found:

“Three physicians, reporting in The Canadian Journal of Urology in July, described how they handled an emergency-room patient who arrived with a ballpoint pen in his urethra. The man, 57, had assumed that the insertion would be pleasurable, and when it wasn’t, thought initially that maybe the pen was not in far enough. After pushing further, to even greater discomfort, he thought that if he pushed it all the way through, it would exit in his rectum, where he could remove it more easily. (Actually, they’re not connected.) Doctors removed the pen with the same procedure used to remove kidney stones. Facebook has beomce a very popular social networking site. Cell phone companies have even poked fun at people using Twitter and Facebook. Perhaps, you have seen the commercial where a father is texting that he is sitting on the patio. His son stands near making fun of him. Well, today’s Worlds Dumbest Criminal by posting to Facebook while robbing a house.

A woman in Martinsville, West Virginia came home to find that her home had been burglarized. She also realized, it would not take a police detective to catch the Worlds Dumbest Criminal who robbed her. Dumb as a blog reported, “She discovered the burglar had used her computer to check his Facebook account and he hadn’t logged out.” (Facebook Fool, 2009).

It did not take police very long to find this Worlds Dumbest Criminal. Views from a Broad reported, “Since he forgot to log out, it was pretty easy for cops to track down 19 year-old Jonathan G. Parker of Fort Loudoun, Pennsylvania, who happened to be staying nearby” (A GUY CHECKED FACEBOOK WHILE ROBBING A HOUSE AND LEFT HIS PAGE OPEN ON THE VICTIM’S COMPUTER, 2009).

Jonathan Parker’s decision to use Facebook, while robbing a home, and not even logging out has earned him the distinction of being one of the Worlds Dumbest Criminals. He also has received one count of felony robbery during daytime hours. If he is convicted, he could be facing up to 10 years in prison. I wonder if West Virginia prisons allow access to Facebook?

In recent years, tort reform has become a big issue. Some politicians say that it is too easy to file frivolous lawsuits. Well, for anyone who say that frivolous lawsuits do not happen, you have not met Mr. Mario Parise. Mario Parise’s story is so far fetched that we are awarding him a Today’s Darwin Award.

This Darwin Award winner is a 61 year old gambler from Detroit Michigan. He has spent the last 10 years gambling at the Motor City Casino. Over the last decade, this Darwin Award winner has gambled away $673,000 dollars. He has now decided that he wants the money back. MLive.com quoted this Darwin Award winner as saying, “I deserve that,” Parise told Fox 2. “It was my money” (Man sues Motor City Casino for losses, citing Michigan territorial law of 1827, 2009).

Seems pretty ridiculous to most people that this Darwin Award winner could sue for money that he willfully gambled away. I think a commentator on MLive.com put it best when he said, “I’m sure he has more to back it up, for example there must be witnesses to the casino employees tying him up and forcing him into the casino. Then I’m sure inside they have video of him being forced at gunpoint to bet his money and play the games, over and over again. The poor guy! If only they hadn’t made him do it!” (Man sues Motor City Casino for losses, citing Michigan territorial law of 1827, 2009).

Of course, this Darwin Award winner found a lawyer willing to tell him that he has a case. Infact, the lawyer even found an obscure law to argue. They are arguing a Territory of Michigan law from 1827 that states someone can get a judgement for gambling losses if he comes to court and signs an affidavit. Ofcourse, there are much newer laws. Mlive.com reported, “Of course, Parise seems to be ignoring more recent legislation, such as the Michigan Gaming Control Act of 1997, which trumps territorial law, according to Fox 2’s legal analyst Charlie Langton.”

This Darwin Award Winner is a classic example of why we need reforms in our legal system. I would dare anyone in this country to argue that he has the right to sue the Casino for actions he willfully committed. At least, this story makes for some great entertainment and gives us an excuse to give out a Darwin Award.

If you’re going to rob a gas station, you at least have to bring a weapon. John Newall was nearing the end of a four-day amphetamine binge when he tried to rob a gas station, by just demanding the money. The clerk told him, “You need a weapon. I have to fear for my life. You can’t just have the money.” John then waited til the register was opened for a paying customer, grabbed some money, and ran out. He used it to go play poker at a nearby casino and was arrested. Daily Dumbass: Drunk Driver Stops To Ask Cop For Directions

Today’s Daily Dumbass’s horrible antics earns her both the Daily Dumbass title and a Darwin Award. This Daily Dumbass comes to us from Birmingham Alabama. Freep.com reported, “Dena Ellington, 45, of Birmingham stopped her Land Rover in the parking lot of Taft Education Center at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday to ask for directions to Coolidge Intermediate School, according to Ferndale Police” (Police: Mom drove drunk to son’s school, 2009).

It is not unusual to ask police for directions, unless you are drunk. When this dumb criminal asked for directions, the police officer smelled alcohol on her breath. The police officer gave our dumb criminal a breathalyzer test. Dumbass Daily reported, “A .29% BAC . . . first thing in the morning and she’s still able to move?” (Drunk Mom Arrested While Driving Kid to School, Stopped to Ask Cop for Directions, 2009). Our Daily Dumbass had a very high blood alcohol level.

This drunk driving dumb criminal is now facing multiple charges. She is being charged with drunk driving with someone 16 in the car. If the dumb criminal is convicted, this will add an additional 6 months to her sentence. This is not the only charges being faced by our dumb criminal. The Oakland Sheriff’s Office is also wanting her for failing to appear on a civil infraction.

Hopefully, this dumb criminal learn that you should not drive drunk, with your sone in the car, early in the morning. There is not too much to say about this women. Stupid runs deep and this dumb criminal is queen of stupid. Enjoy your title as one of the World’s Dumbest Criminals and your Darwin Award.

If you’re going to be stupid enough to disguise your car as an unmarked police car, you might want to refrain from driving it around while smoking pot. A Naples, Florida man put emergency lights, a baton, police badge and a radio scanner in his car. Authorities saw him and got suspicious, so they pulled him over. The man told them, “This isn’t what it looks like. You guys think I’m using this stuff to pull people over, but I’m not. Today’s Daily Dumbass became a dumb criminal for asking for a date. If you rob someone, you should probably take them off your list of possible dates. A suspect in a home robbery was arrested when he returned to the scene of the crime two hours later – to ask the victim for a date! Police arrested the 20-year-old in front of the Columbus, Ohio home after the victim’s relative called 911. Today’s Daily Dumbass is a Dumb Criminal that decided to rob a bank. Robbing banks is not that unusual. After all, somewhere in the US a robber tries it almost everyday. This dumb criminal will become known not for robbing a bank but for what he left behind.

In Bethlehem Pennsylvania, a 51 year old Lloyd Barclay decided to rob a local bank. Lloyd walked up to the counter and gave the teller a note. The note informed the teller that he was robbing the bank. The note requested the teller to turn over money. Lloyd made away with $800. The problem was what he left behind. Lloyd had to take his wallet out of his pocket to get to the note. Before handing over the note, Lloyed laid his wallet on the counter.

But Lloyd made the mistake of leaving his wallet. AOL News reported, “Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania say they have identified a suspected bank robber using the wallet he left behind” (Alleged Robber Leaves Wallet at Bank, 2009). The wallet had two photo IDs, a social security card and Lloyd’s criminal registration card. This dumb criminal is now facing multiple felony criminal charges.

64 Year Old Dumb Criminal Kicks His Poo at Police

Today’s dumb criminal takes the cake. His impression of the monkey at the zoo rockets him to the throne of Daily Dumbass. If the police come to your house while you’re having a party, and you definitely want to go to jail, just do what today’s dumbass did: A 64-year-old man got mad when cops came to his home for a noise complaint while he was having a party. So he did what any reasonable irked citizen would do – he pulled down his pants, pooped on the floor, and kicked his own poo at the officers. World’s Dumbest Criminal Learns Do Not Sign Up for a Ride Along Program…IF YOU HAVE A WARRANT!

Probably one of the funnier YouTube videos that I have seen. This video is from an old America’s Dumbest Criminals episode. This story certainly highlights one of the Word’s Dumbest Criminals. This dumb criminal signed up for a police ride along program. When he got to the station, they required him to complete a form with his personal information. Not anything out of the ordinary, they just want to know who is riding in their police cars. As the officer and him walked out to the car, another officer noticed our dumb criminal. He advised the first officer that he had arrested this man before. Sure enough, the dumb criminal had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and now joins the ranks of the World’s Dumbest Criminals. You can view the video here.

Daily Dumbass: Dutch Enjoy Bathroom More Than Sex

Surveys are done everyday. Some surveys are very useful. They tell politicians how they should vote (or at least what people think), they tell radio stations what type of music people like, etc. Today’s Daily Dumbass Award goes to a Dutch survey that had some very surprising result.

Today’s Daily Dumbass Award is the result of a survey completed in Holland. The survey dealt with the activities that Dutch citizens found more enjoying. Two of the choices were going to the bathroom or having sex. Surprisingly, going to the bathroom came up higher than sex. Out of 1,000 adults, 88% listed a good visit to the john as one of the activities they most enjoy, and only 21% gave the same status to sex. Seriously? If you think dropping a deuce is more enjoyable than sex – then you’ve got to be doing it wrong!

Dumb Criminal With Munchies Found Eating in Grocery Store

Smoking weed is well known to cause the “munchies”. Most people smoke weed then chips and soda at home. We have all seen the movies that a group of young people perched around a bong. Laughing hysterically and scarfing done large amounts of food. Today’s Daily Dumbass was no different. However, this dumb criminal found a very unusual way to feed his munchies.

Police were called to Cashwise Foods in Bismarck South Dakota. Police arrived at 2:45 A.M. to find our dumb criminal still in the store. Workers found our dumb criminal sitting at a table eating a pleuthora of grocery store goods. Huffington Post reported, “Police Lt. Randy Ziegler said the 38-year-old man was intoxicated and had a hearty spread, including cake, cookies and plums, in the deli area of Cashwise Foods about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday” (Drunk Man Found At Grocery Store Eating Avocados, 2009). The dumb criminal was arrested for misdemeanor stealing charges.
