There’s just something about red, white, and blue stitched into handmade pieces that feels like summer at home.

Over the past few days, I’ve been adding several new Americana-inspired handmade items to the shop, and I wanted to gather them all together here in one place. These are the kinds of pieces that feel right at home during Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, summer gatherings, or honestly… all year long if you love a cozy Americana style.

Every item is handmade with cotton fabrics, machine stitched and quilted in my smoke free and pet free home, and each one has its own little personality and charm.

Some of my favorites right now are the patriotic table runners and table toppers. I love how easy they are to use for decorating. A simple table runner can completely change the feel of a kitchen table, entryway, or coffee table without having to redecorate an entire room. The smaller square table topper is perfect for a kitchen nook or layered under a centerpiece, while the longer runners work beautifully on entry tables, buffets, or farmhouse tables.

I also added some fun kitchen items to the shop, including Americana potholders and bowl cozies. These are practical pieces you can actually use every day while still adding a festive touch to your kitchen. The bowl cozies are especially great for hot soups, oatmeal, or microwave meals, and they make thoughtful little gifts too.

And then there’s the sweet stuffed bunny in her patriotic dress.

She might be one of my favorite pieces in this collection. She has such a simple, vintage feel and looks adorable sitting on a shelf, tucked into a basket, or displayed on an entry table for summer decorating. Her dress and apron are removable, which makes her extra special if you enjoy seasonal decorating or collecting handmade dolls and bunnies.

I’ve also added a handmade Americana lap quilt featuring classic red, cream, and navy patchwork blocks. This one feels especially cozy draped over a chair or couch and would make a beautiful accent piece for summer decorating while still being practical for everyday use.

Noah’s Ark Baby Quilt — A Timeless Heirloom

This Noah’s Ark quilt is something special. The large center panel shows the ark on a blue sea, with Noah on the shore, a dove flying overhead, a rainbow, and stars in the sky. Little fish swim in the water below.

Around the center, smaller panels show the animals two by two — a duck, a cow, a camel, a rooster, sheep, a bison, and more. The fun mix of plaids, checks, and printed fabrics that give the whole quilt a cozy, old-fashioned feel. The border is a blue and gold zigzag pattern with colorful button accents along the edges. Over the last several years, my bookshelf quilts have been very popular. I make them in a few different ways – sometimes as wall hangings and often as lap quilts or twin size quilts. Here are a couple of samples of the quilts I’ve made in the past, and the bottom two images are linked to my etsy shop in case you need a custom bookshelf quilt made!

For the last several years, I have been making lots of bowl cozies. Mountains and mountains of bowl cozies…for craft shows and to sell online on etsy and amazon. Several of my grandkids have even helped with the cutting and sewing of these.

These are designed to hold your bowl of soup or food before you put it in the microwave, so when you pull it out, you have a built in holder to keep from burning your hands! These are sewn with 100% cotton thread and batting and are obviously microwave safe! They are also great for using with bowls full of ice cream!

I thought I’d share a few of them here, and you can check my etsy shop if YOU need a bowl cozy or two!

I get asked often if I make t-shirt quilts, and the answer is yes! Here is one I’ve been working on this week.

These quilts range in price from $150 for a twin size, $200 for a full size, and $300 for a queen size. If you are interested in getting a t-shirt quilt made with your shirts (or kids/grandkids!), send me an email.

One of my newest quilts is up on etsy! This is a brown, green and orange batik quilt.

This lap quilt is made with several batik prints. The backing is also a batik print. The quilt measures 72” x 57”.

This third picture shows the backing. I quilted this on my longarm machine!

In case you can’t tell from the design of my website, I love BLUE. And this modern blue lap quilt is one of my favorites. It is 66” x 78” and fits on a twin size bed or perfect for an oversized lap/couch quilt.

I have been quilting for decades, and recently purchased a long arm quilting machine. If you can’t find me, I’m probably in my sewing haven, with the new machine. Be sure to watch for posts with videos of my using the machine! It’s so much fun….

This is my newest quilt. It is a pink and purple lap quilt and is 53”x53”. I quilted it on my long arm machine, and it is made with a three yard pattern. You can see a few more photos over on Etsy
