If you want to import .pst file in to evolution you have to use readpst.readpst is a program that can read an Outlook PST (Personal Folders) file and convert it into an mbox file, a format suitable for KMail, a recursive mbox structure, or separate emails.

Install readpst in ubuntu

Open the terminal and run the following command

Sample command (assuming that you have a dual-core processor, you can run this task in parallel using the -j switch):

mkdir ~/Evolution

readpst -D -j 2 -o ~/Evolution -q -r ~/outlook.pst

You will need to change the paths to where you want to save the files and where you have saved your original .pst file.

After this, start Evolution and use the import feature to import these .mbox files, one-by-one.

Some graphic devices do support a keyboard shortcut to rotate the screen, notably nVidia, enables the Ctrl+Alt+Arrow Keys.

For ATI Radeon adapter users

- Installed the latest version of Catalyst Control Center;
- in the main screen you have the "Preferences" button; click it
- Click the first option ("Hotkeys" or similar, I have it in Italian, don'know exactly what is the english name)
- In the list, double-click the items you'd like to activate and assign a hotkey (i.e. CTRL-ALT+Cursor key). The ones meant to rotate the display are the first four.

This tutorial will explain How to move default location of Public folders in windows 7

This can be done through a Directory Junction which can redirect to a new location of Public folder.

First create a new folder on E:\ and perhaps you want to call it Public.

Go to Cmd prompt by running as Administrator.

Copy everything from existing public folder to the new folder created by using the command
robocopy /MIR %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Users\Public E:\Public (or whatever name you used for public folder on E:)

You need robocopy as it takes care of hidden files, etc, especially if you have Recorded TV folder within public folder.

Once the copy is transferred, you need to delete the existing public folder and create a junction in its place. For this, boot into Safe Mode as an administrator and delete the public contents and folder, and again by starting the Cmd prompt as an administrator. To remove the Public folder:

rmdir /s /q %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Users\Public

Having created the new location folder, and deleting the existing public folder, now is time to create a Directory Junction for public folder with the following command:

mklink /J %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Users\Public E:\Public (or whatever name you named the opublic folder on E:\)

for example: mklink /J C:\Users\Public E:\Public

Now, whatever is meant for the original Public folder gets directed to the new location.

Like all previous Fuduntu releases, this release follows our tradition of making small incremental distribution improvements that don’t sacrifice the stability of our Linux distribution. Existing Fuduntu users have already rolled up to 2012.3, as all of the updates available are released to our stable repository. This cycle focused on many improvements under the hood, including core platform updates like GCC 4.6.3 and Anaconda 16. In addition, Fuduntu now ships GRUB 2 as our default bootloader.

How to make Windows 7 show user list on login screen

If you want to show user list on login screen you have to follow this procedure

Procedure 1

Before doing any changes please take a backup of your registry

Click the Start menu and type regedt32. Navigate to the following key.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

In the profile list, there was one named .DEFAULT with no data within it. I deleted this key rebooted and all of my user icons were back on the logon screen

Procedure 2

1.First let’s login with the current user account.

2.Click Start and type run in the search and hit Enter.

3.Let’s type “control userpasswords2” in the run window and hit Enter

4.Let’s check whether the check box which says Users must enter a user name and password to use is checked. If the check box is checked then let’s uncheck the check box, click on apply and ok tab and hit enter.

5.Restart the system.

6.You will be able to see different users in the logon screen.

In ubuntu 12.04 Unity lenses can access Internet to fetch information such as Video lens.If you want to disable this use the following procedure.

Disable the file responsible for accessing Internet:

    First Open a terminal, go to "/usr/lib/unity-scope-video-remote" by the below command:

    cd /usr/lib/unity-scope-video-remote

    Disable the "unity-scope-video-remote" file there by this command below:

    sudo mv unity-scope-video-remote unity-scope-video-remote.bak

    Logout and Login again, to see that the video lens is unable to access the Internet.

If you want to re-enable the feature:

    Just do the opposite of the above process, Go to "/usr/lib/unity-scope-video-remote" by the command:

    cd /usr/lib/unity-scope-video-remote

    Re-enable the file by following command:

    sudo mv unity-scope-video-remote.bak unity-scope-video-remote

    Logout and Login again, to see the effect

Pinguy OS 12.04 LTS Beta Released
