			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Risk Adjustment Coder job in Massachusetts open at major health plan in Boston. There are four positions that need to be filled. Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the coder performs accurate and timely review and validation of Medicare Advantage HCCs through medical record reviews. The Coder audits provider documentation of ICD-9-CM codes to verify that coding meets both established coding standards as well as CMS Risk Adjustment guidelines. The Coder will lead efforts to evaluate the HCC coding practices and provide analyses and recommendations to improve overall provider documentation and coding. The Risk Adjustment Coder will review medical records to determine if diagnostic codes ICD-9-CM are accurately reflecting the provider documentation. Performs ongoing audit of medical records from coding vendor and network providers to ensure diagnosis coding accuracy. </p>
<p>Business Degree preferred. Registered Health Information Administrator RHIA, Registered Health Information Technician RHIT, Certified Professional Coder CPC-H certification or CCS Certified Coding Specialist preferred. </p>
<p>Ten or more years of coding experience is preferred. Three or more years of coding experience in health plan, hospital or physician practice billing and/or hospital care management environment required. Prior experience with Risk Adjustment coding and auditing preferred.</p>
<p>Thorough knowledge of ICD-9-CM and the documentation needed to support them. Ability to train providers on documentation required to support ICD9 and HCC codes a plus.</p>
<p>The salary for these positions is $60,000 plus depending upon education and experience. This will include patient scheduling, reception/check-in, bed management, registration, financial counseling and revenue management support. The Director is expected to motivate staff to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction, and to meet the organization goals for customer service and financial performance. The Director optimizes staff performance through process redesign, policy/procedure implementation, communications, and outcome feedback. The Director will also interact with other departments within the Shared Service Center as well as within the ministry organization, and will serve as a representative of the department. Qualifications include: a demonstrated knowledge of Patient Access, Pre-Service and Revenue Management functions; a Bachelors degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, nursing or a related field; 3 or more years of experience managing functional areas of Registration, Pre-Service/Financial Clearance, Financial Counseling, Case Management/Utilization Review, or other management functions related to revenue cycle activities in a complex, multi-site environment. There is one cath lab, interventional cath labs with 11 FTEs. The ICU has 9 beds with 21 FTEs. The position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. Qualifications include: RN license with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in critical care; at least 2 years management experience; Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred. Salary is $90K to $100K depending on experience. Full benefits plus relocation assistance.
