Folder Marker

Pulling hairs because of a cluttered desktop? Too many folders, can't find which one that you are looking for? Read on, I will tell you about a freeware that can help you get through this.

Imagine marking a folder with a red color to show urgency, marking another one with a folder with the picture of a lock to show private files, all done with a click of a button. Folder Marker will help you in marking your folders to differentiate it from the old, boring, yellow colored folders. This will help in better visibility thus better productivity. Colors makes some sense, don't they?

AxCrypt

If you have read my previous freeware review on OmZiff, by now you have already know what encryption is. If you want an easy to use encryption freeware or are looking for another encryption freeware alternative, you can give AxCrypt a shot.

AxCrypt installed itself on the right click menu of your Windows system and to encrypt a file, you just need to right click on the file, choose the AxCrypt menu and click Encrypt. You will be prompted to enter a passphrase to encrypt the files. Don't forget it because you will need the same key to decrypt the file when the need arises.

AxCrypt features:-

Right click to encrypt - right click on a file to start the encryption menu and choose Encrypt, sooo easy.

Automatic encryption - you can open an encrypted file, edit anything you want on it and whenever you close it, it will get encrypted automatically.

Zero configuration - AxCrypt right click menu will appear instantly once its successfully installed.

Integrated shredder - shred that sensitive files of yours into oblivion.

Key file support - if you feel uncomfortable using passwords to encrypt a file, you can use a file containing some text keys to be used as a decryption key. Make sure you hide this file!

If you ever want to secure a file containing your precious data, you may consider encrypting it with a freeware. Encrypting a file means that you make a file secure by making it unreadable until you decrypt it with a password or some other ways of decryption.
If you are looking for one freeware to do that, Omziff is one of the best choice.

Yet another obviously named freeware. This is FeedReader. It reads feeds from your favorite website. So easy to explain. Go on, read all the features, then you can compare it with one of my favorite feed reader freeware, Omea Reader.

It's features:-

Fast - FeedReader is very responsive. It doesn't hog my PC when downloading lots and lots of newsfeeds.

Lightweight - runs nicely on the background with so little memory. Love the automatic feed updates.

Simple - it doesn't need rocket science to understand how FeedReader works. It's so easy to use.

Tag support - you can tag your favorite feeds for later readings / personal archival.

Sample feeds - it starts up with some popular feeds on the planet. Glad they add this on. Now I am addicted to Engadget already.

If you are new to feed reading / reading newsfeeds, check out for any RSS tags on your favorite sites and try to add it to FeedReader. Now you can centralize all your internet news updates from one simple place.

Report - easily print a report, showing all the files that need to be managed / deleted to save hard disk space.

Sort function - sort the treeview either by file sizes or alphabetically.

Cropper is screen capturing for the lazy.

Normal screen capturing steps:-

- click Print Screen on keyboard
- open favourite picture editor e.g MS Paint / IrfanView / Photofiltre
- click Paste to get the screenshot
- resize the screenshot (optional)
- think of a name of the file
- save the file

Too slow!

With Cropper, you can just start it up with Windows, let it run on the background, select an area to capture anytime you want, double click the mouse on the center of Cropper or press Enter. Done!

Cropper features:-

Output file format - choose from bitmap, jpeg, save it on the clipboard and more!

Thumbnail - capture a screenshot and create its thumbnail at once! Even greater flexibility!

Resizable crop window - you can resize Cropper easily - capture and crop a picture in any size that you wish!

Opacity level - you can change the transparency of the Cropper window to suit your style.

Cropper might seem a bit odd the first time you saw it, but once you try it, you will know it's now possible to remove the "Print Screen" keyboard button, yeah!

KeePass Password Safe

This is yet another freeware password saver for Windows. This freeware is a gem for short term memory loss kind of people whom always have the problem in remembering their email or system passwords. KeePass Password Safe let users save their passwords in a .kdb database so that they can copy and paste them for next time usage. It's highly encrypted or in layman terms, its secure so that you don't have to worry about mischievous hackers stealing your precious passwords.

Highly encrypted database - i don't wanna elaborate on this anymore. Go ask a security geek about AES and Two-fish algorithms if you are so paranoid about it.

My World Cup 2006

Well it's not all mine, if you still insist to ask. It's your World Cup 2006 too, if you have it on your PC, hahaha.

My World Cup 2006 is a freeware to track the next World Cup 2006 scores between teams. You can fill in all the data for yourselves according to the scores or you can create a "What If" situations. For example, "What If" England lose to Trinidad from the group matches? What will happen? Who will Trinidad see in the second round? That's just an example, please don't be mad at me. :)

You can also view screenshots of all the stadiums that will be hosting all the matches in Germany from this freeware. You can also select your your favorite team to make entries related to them highlighted, then you can see how they will progress in the next game. Kick off times are also provided.

This freeware is one of the best way to start the football fever, at least for me. My prediction? I think Brazil will win again, if Ronaldinho can keep his current Barcelona form.
