Copyright © 2009 AJ of Baklaako.com. Visit the original article at http://mygandaako.com/?p=326.

Gone are the days when you only mean the rubber flip-flops whenever you say “Havs” because Havaianas has just unveiled their newest line: bags! Genetics has gone beyond science and has found its way into fashion. Havaianas, the world’s best rubber flip-flops, now shares its DNA to the newest addition to their family.

With the same sense of functional style, these new fashion statements from Havaianas showcase the basic features that define the chic brand. Aside from using the same rainbow of colors as the flip-flops’ palette, the different bag styles are subtly ingrained with distinct Havaianas elements: the rice pattern on the soles and the Greek pattern on the straps are integrated into different details of all the bag styles. Reinforcing the bag’s durability are familiar rubber elements that provide sturdy yet stylish bases, straps and locks. The round rubber buttons used to keep the flip-flops’ soles and straps together can also be found detailing the bags, locking-in the Havaianas DNA.

I got the chance to see these bags on the racks and on the ramp at the recently-concluded

Havaianas Newest Fashion Must-Havs Launch. My favorites were the following (all ramp photos by Fritz Tentativa).

I love (like I have a huge crush on) this model. Both the bag and the person. He’s so cute!

And here are the rest of the latest fashion must-havs:

Havaianas Mega

Similar to flip-flops, an understated handbag such as the Havaianas Mega can be the most versatile item in your bag wardrobe, adding a punch of color to any outfit. Havaianas Mega comes in two orientations, with the vertical Havaianas Mega NS currently available in Navy Blue and Black, and the horizontal Havaianas Mega LO currently available in Light Green and Red. Through careful attention to detail, the solid hues of Havaianas Mega underscore flexibility without compromising fashion or style.

Havaianas Mega Printed

Havaianas Mega Printed takes the same silhouette of the Havaianas Mega and adds a playful print. With its intricate design of flip-flop flowers, the Havaianas Mega Printed currently comes in Yellow|Gray and Light Blue|Brown. The added print makes the style a perfect option for the multi-faceted modern woman with an eye for style and a need for adaptability.

Havaianas Sack

Nothing beats the functionality of a durable carry-all, and Havaianas takes it a step further with the introduction of the Havaianas Sack — perfect for men and women who prefer a simple, subtle, ever-so-versatile style. Mirroring the variety of color found in the flip-flops, this style is currently available in nine different colors – Black, Brown, Gray, Lawn Green, Light Blue, Navy Blue, Orange, Pink, and Red – and each Sack features a detachable rubber strap that you can mix and match to suit your mood and style.

Havaianas Side

Havaianas takes the basic messenger sling bag to fashionable new heights with the Havaianas Side. This style features a rubber bottom for a sturdy and unique base, while a similar rubber brace keeps the bag cover in place while adding a distinct edge to the style. Available in Black, Brown and Navy Blue, the Havaianas Side is ideal for the dynamic lifestyles of youthful and fashionable individuals who value ease and practicality.

Havaianas Tote

One can’t help but love the simple yet functional construction of the Havaianas flip-flops and now, the Havaianas Tote. By inserting a colorful printed drawstring bag into the traditional tote silhouette, this bag – currently available in Light Blue, Pink, and Yellow – provides a fashionable way to secure your essentials. Add in the internal pockets, and the Havaianas Tote is perfect for every woman whose life is filled to bursting – from the chic career woman with her pens and papers to the stylish mommy with her baby’s bottles and diapers.

Havaianas Zip

The brand’s originality and innovative spirit shines through with the introduction of the cool, new bag concept of the Havaianas Zip. With wide-open sides, and numerous pockets, the Havaianas Zip allows you to conveniently tote items you would normally hand-carry, such as skateboards, yoga mats, jackets—even puppies. Currently available in two sizes and six colors – Black, Navy Blue, Orange, Red, Pink and Yellow – the Havaianas Zip is perfect for diverse girls and guys who are willing to break out of the traditional bag mold.

Copyright © 2009 AJ of Baklaako.com. Visit the original article at http://mygandaako.com/?p=324.

It was my birthday yesterday, September 10th, and boy was it amazing. I was so overwhelmed with the outpouring of greetings and well-wishes for me yesterday that even if my fingers already ached so badly, I still had to send sms and Facebook and Twitter and Plurk and IM responses to say, “Thank You” to everyone who greeted me.

I have lots of things to be thankful for, just like this country and our people. After weathering a lot of problems, this country has much to thank for. Despite all the crises and issues the nation has faced, the Filipino has risen above it all – revealing an indomitable spirit fueled by a cheerful, optimistic nature that is truly praiseworthy. And a popular international Swiss chocolate brand believes that this inherently Pinoy character is an amazing reason to celebrate.

In the previous National Thank You Day spearheaded by Toblerone, Filipinos proved to the world that the country is united in gratefulness – debunking the Reader’s Digest survey which claimed that the Philippines is one of the least courteous nations in the world. It proved that there is an abundance in the spirit of thankfulness in this country. And Toblerone wants this spirit of thankfulness to extend further to the whole country – with different cities joining in to show support for this noble cause.

This year, Toblerone launches the SPREAD THE SWEETNESS OF GRATITUDE PHOTO COMPETITION.

Visit the original article at http://mygandaako.com/?p=304.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In olden times, only the rich were beautiful – at least that’s how they wanted things to be. Nowadays, anyone can be beautiful! Even if you’re not physically beautiful by the superficial standards set by men and the media, you can still do something to make yourself as fabulous as you can be!

Thanks to HBC; one the country’s most innovative retailers of health, beauty, personal and home care products and services; wherever you may be and whoever you are, you can be beautiful!

HBC also now brings you Gandang Exclusibo sa Barangay! This Luzon-wide barangay beauty invasion promises to make beauty easily accessible to everyone – whoever they are and wherever they may be! The Gandang Exclusibo sa Barangay tour showcases the HBC Tatak Exclusibo and Beauty Exclusives products and brands. They also have the free services that go with just a minimum purchase: facials, diamond peel, hair coloring, and even a make over! You don’t get these kinds of services elsewhere!

I’ve been to one of the Gandang Exclusibo sa Barangay tours and boy was I amazed! Apart from celebrity endorser Anne Curtis, the whole basketball court (yes, they managed to transform the barangay court into a BEAUTY COURT!) was filled with people excited to experience a one of a kind treatment only HBC can procide. It seemed as if a whole branch of HBC was transplanted into the court. There were stalls of products, booths for hair coloring, foot spa and diamond peel, and FREE Skin and Dental consultation booths to boot!

The casino will have more than 1,000 slot machines and more than 300 tables. It will include public and VIP gaming areas, junket rooms, a host of restaurants and bars, a business center, a spa and villas. The casino is one of the elements of the resort that will bring additional traffic to the mall, an ambitious development with four floors boasting a distinct tenant mix.

The mall includes four high-end cinemas with a total of 1,200 seats and a multipurpose 1,030-seat performing arts theater. The ground floor of the development will be devoted to some 22 world-renowned brands ranging from haute couture and fashion accessories to jewelry and watches. The second floor will offer an extensive range of local and international dining options encircling an air-conditioned indoor piazza with a glass skyline.

The third floor will host specialty boutiques. Serving as the lobby of the performing arts theater, it will also connect to the private, highroller section of the casino. The fourth floor, meanwhile, will be focused on
entertainment for the young with its cinemas, amusement facilities and cafés.

The hotels complete the picture. The Marriott Hotel will be the first Marriott development in Metro Manila, while the Php3.8 billion ($80.7 million) Maxims Hotel, the first luxury casino hotel in the Philippines, will be built on a one-hectare lot next to a lagoon.

And what one thing do many people wear during this season (in the Philippines, even if it’s not summer, I still love wearing them)? SHADES!

Ray-ban, one of the world’s more famous brands has released their new collection of shades for Summer 2009! What I love about the new collection is how they revisited their classic looks and revamped them for the summer time. The Wayfarer, Clubmaster, Outdoorman, Aviator, and Jackie Ohh have been updated to go in tune with the current trends.
