The China Glaze Halloween set! I’ve actually had this for days cause I think I ordered it the day it became available, but am just getting around to posting about it cause I suck at blogging lately. Swatches to come soon! So far, I love one, like another, and I think I might hate the third.

At Ross yesterday, The Color Club Sweet Seduction set! Notice how it’s in the Femme Fatale packaging. This is driving me insane, though, because normally in the Ross sets, the names of the polishes are on the back of the box, and they’re in order, so I use my labelmaker and fix that right up. But for these, they’re all pretty similar, and though I can find the names online, I can’t match them up to the bottles. Driving me CRAZY not to know what they are.

These were all on clearance at Sally’s yesterday, plus for Labor Day they were having a 50% off clearance sale. How did I miss this collection with the dancing names, I don’t even remember it. They’re all very opaque, bright cremes, so, LOVE!

OK, and today I went to a big flea market, and it’s so sad that I pretty much only go places like that hoping to find nail polish. But yeah, I found some and was happy happy happy!

Some pretty boring Orlys, and an old China Glaze! I don’t think the Orlys are old, but they were cheap, soooooo…

Essies! Again, cheap! These seem to be from 3 different time periods, based on the different types of labels. I think that a couple of them may be discontinued, but none seem to be especially rare.

• Fondola Gondola – was hoping this would match my skin better than it does, for wearing under sheers

Whew, I think that’s it for now!

So anyway, I’m wandering through the OPI section, not really looking for anything in particular, just looking for polishes that catch my eye. And there, on the top row, my eye snaps to a pretty, faintly gray creme. I didn’t hesitate to snatch it up and hug it to my chest in glee without actually inspecting it as I normally do. I had obviously found my perfect polish, and I WAS BUYING IT. The other two I ended up buying required my normal debating and comparing and hemming and hawing and opening them and shaking them and holding them up to the light, but I KNEW that Moon Over Mumbai was just certain to be my new favorite polish. It was so light! And so creamy-looking! With the OPI formula and brush! And gray, I adore grays! It was love.

On the way home I had my bag of polish in my lap and I would peek into it and admire MoM, tucked in among the other OPIs and the Ultas I’d gotten, and I couldn’t wait to get home and try out my new perfect polish.

Needless to say, when I finally opened the bottle my hopes were dashed and my heart was broken and I actually considered returning the damn thing because I just have no use or patience for sheer white shimmers. It’s pretty enough I guess for what it is, but it will always remind me of my dashed hopes.

I thought this would be a good time to use another OPI that I don’t like much, to try to liven up MoM a bit. This is one coat of the sheer Can’t You Sea? layered on top.  Blah.

Also, I must say again that Innocence is the PERFECT french base color, seriously. It made my nails look healthy and clean (two coats) and I admired them the entire time I wore this manicure.

Best Dressed List

3 coats.This is such an interesting reddish neutral. Like a light terra cotta, maybe? It’s pretty original imo.

High Society

3 coats. Grayish, purplish taupe. This has of course been the season of this sort of color, but this polish didn’t really get much love in that category, I don’t think. I’d guess it’s because it’s so much lighter than the others I can think of. It’s more neutral, less edgy.

Ugh! See how this polish pretty much just looks black? Well, that’s the problem with it. IF I HAD WANTED A BLACK POLISH, I’d use my beloved OPI Black Onyx. This is like ordering something at a restaurant and getting something different, and having the waitress claim it’s what you ordered.

I’m not against dark polishes at all, but I really hate polishes that are so dark you can’t tell what color they’re supposed to be. I wish it had some purple shimmer or something. It was such a pretty, deep purple in the bottle! It’s not that bad, I guess, it’s just not what I ordered! Oh well, one for the swap pile!
