He’s only 4, btw. Sooo cute hahaha. N is such a fine little boy, very talented and smart too. He knows how to play the drums already. Tita is sorry for pretending to be Anne Curtis to you (I told him I was Anne whenever we talk on the phone and he was really convinced about it). Pls. know that it is your mom who encouraged me to do that hahaha. Thank you Mommey K, I will treasure the picture Thank you also for being a friend to me all these years.

To N, I hope you grow up as a nice young man one day. When Tita Malensky become rich (as in super rich that I walk on money) I shall give you the best yamaha drums set in the world! But for now, a bigger firetruck will do, right? Be safe, you guys!

Though there is much to be concerned about, there is far, far more for which to be thankful. Though life’s goodness can at times be overshadowed, it is never outweighed.

For every single act that is senselessly destructive, there are thousands more small, quiet acts of love, kindness and compassion. For every person who seeks to hurt, there are many, many more who devote their lives to helping and to healing.

When something needs to be done, even if it is difficult and demanding, there is always someone who steps forward to do it. When problems arise, there are always those who are eager to deal with them.

Though the goodness of life does at times suffer setbacks, it always endures. And when it is challenged, the goodness of life comes back stronger than ever.

For in the darkest moments it becomes vividly clear that life is a priceless treasure. And so the goodness of life is made even stronger by the very things that oppose it.

Open your heart and look around you. You will see that goodness shining in every direction.

— Ralph Marston

*********
NOTES: Exactly what I needed today – “Open your heart and look around you. You will see that goodness shining in every direction”

Something not so nice happened this morning and I don’t want to focus all my energy about it today. No to negative stuff pls. I want to just enjoy and focus in the goodness of life!

Porcelain Control Plate

I need a set of of this china portion plates in my life! Sooo cool!

Why losing weight is sooo hard!!!! I am getting bigger day by day. I seriously haven’t worn maong pants in years! A lot of my clothes from 2-3 yrs back wont fit anymore!!! I know exactly what to do but I just can’t find the time and courage to do it. I need a complete paradigm shift about my thoughts on dieting and becoming healthy. How to start???

Dieting doesn’t mean starving. Dieting doesn’t mean starving. Dieting doesn’t mean starving. Repeat 100x!

Dieting means eating well. Eating well doesn’t mean eating everthing you like! Eating well means eating the right food in healthy quantities and in proper proportion to each other. I should stop eating rice and bread and potatoes! I know I cannot stop it altogether because I’m such a Ricevore and Carboholic haha. My action plan is to start with half rice each for morning and lunch and no rice for dinner, then more veggies throughout the day and just a small portion of lean meat. Easier said than done, I know. I need this portion plate to remind me to watch what I’m eating all the time! I just need 1 piece that I could bring wherever I go.

I didn’t know such warts exist until I got them some 6-7 yrs ago. Foot warts are tiny lesions that appear on the soles of the foot. They can be very painful, and at times, they can get really itchy. Since it’s a virus infection, you can get it from another person via skin contact.

It took 3-4 weeks before they disappeared entirely on my feet. I believe I cured them by soaking both my feet in very hot water with alcohol for 1 week.

Other methods to cure foot warts are:

Using a duct tape to cover the warts for 7-10 days. Once duct tape is removed, rub the warts with a pumice stone. Repeat the process until the warts disappear.

Use apple cider vinegar. Take a cotton ball, soak it with the vinegar and apply it directly to the wart. Cover it with a bandage and let it remain overnight. Repeat the process until the warts disappear.

The best and more convenient method is done using electrosurgery equipment. It’s safe and quick! You don’t have to wait a long time for the warts to be treated. I know! I should have consulted a dermatologist before and resorted to this option to lessen my suffering, but I didn’t want to pay a lot of money for the treatment! After 2 months or so, the nurse in our office told me our HMO card covers this kind of disease.

They said you wouldn’t make is so far uh uh
And ever since they said it, it’s been hard
But nevermind the nights you had to cry
Cause you have never let it go inside
You worked real hard
And you know exactly what you want and need
So believe and you can never give up
You can reach your goals
Just talk to your soul and say…

(Chorus:)
I believe I can (I can)
I believe I will (I will)
I believe I know my dreams are real (know my dreams are real)
I believe I’ll stand (Oh yea)
I believe I’ll dance
I believe I’ll grow real soon and (That’s why)
That is what I do believe

Your goals are just a thing in your soul uh uh
And you know that your moves will let them show
You keep creating pictures in your mind
So just believe they will come true in time
It will be fine
Leave all of your cares and stress behind
Just let it go
Let the music flow inside
Forget all your pain
And just start to believe

(Chorus:)
I believe I can (I believe I can oh yea)
I believe I will
I believe I know my dreams are real (All of my dreams are real)
I believe I’ll stand
I believe I’ll dance (I gotta dance)
I believe I’ll grow real soon and (ooo)
That is what I do believe
Whoa oa oa YEA…

(Music break)

Nevermind what people say
Hold your head high and turn away
With all our hopes and dreams
I will believe
Even though it seems it’s not for me
I won’t give up I’ll keep it up
Look into the sky
I will achieve all my needs
I will always believe….OoOo

(Chorus 2x)
I believe I can
I believe I will (I can)
I believe I know my dreams are real (I got strength)
I believe I’ll stand
I believe I’ll dance (I gotta dance)
I believe I’ll grow real soon and (watch me watch me watch me)
That is what I do believe (I do believe in me)

I believe I can
I believe I will (oh yea)
I believe I know my dreams are real
I believe I’ll stand
I believe I’ll dance (I gotta dance)
I believe I’ll grow real soon and

Ladies’ Raymond Weil Tradition Slim Watch (850$)

As I grew older, my preferences have started to vary, it is as if I am no longer my old self. I used to really like cutesy stuff back in college, but I now try to stay away from those and prefer simplicity, functionality and value. Lately I noticed, I stopped wearing clothes with loud colours and prints, so different when I was so much younger! Even in accessories, I prefer minimalist style like watches raymond weil and just a pair of stud earrings. Oh my! God knows what I’d do to have a watch like that! So nice and pretty I want it for my birthday please!

I like this change a lot. It shows that I am becoming more mature in my choices in life.

Soo excited for my first trip to Baguio….this year! Thank you Japox for paying for our accommodation. We’re all very excited!

I’ve been to Baguio twice, year 2000 with the whole ECE graduating class, and 2008 with fellow bloggers Reyna Elena and Pinoyambisyoso. Both very memorable to me so I hope this year’s also a good one. I am just happy I could visit the place again because I didn’t have the chance to travel that much last year (except for our Team Building in Laiya and Puerto Galera and a few trips to my barrio) due to busy schedules (and poverty lols).

Visit 168 Divisoria for all your party needs. Very very cheap price there. That HAPPY BIRTHDAY candles is only 30P, you can buy the same thing in Goldilocks for 150P.

Since Japox paid for our accommodation, we decided to make a surprise party tomorrow night to celebrate 2 things – his bday and promotion! Congratulations on being promoted as the new MARKOVA for Asia Pacific! Do you have your business cards already? If you haven’t, I know a place where you can get quality custom business cards printing services for your personal cards. Let me know if you need help, ok. Congrats again! Well deserved!

Haha. It has been only a little over 1 month since Alia introduced it to us and I visited the place 3x already!

My first visit was last December, while having a short meeting with my sis, Alia and cousin BEBE MITCHITA. I haven’t heard Yabu prior to that so I was reluctant to try it at first. When I arrived there, ohmaaay, there were a lot of yuppies lining up in queue. Insanely loooong line! Anong meron!? Good thing Alia called ahead of time to reserve seats for us so we didn’t have to wait. So if you’re planning to visit during lunch time esp. in Megamall branch, make sure to call their hotline to make a reservation.

The meat is sooo soft they melt in your mouth. Oh maaay panis ang pork chop!!! I could eat this forever! LOL

Condiments – sesame dressing, sesame oil, hot sauce and Himalayan salt fresh from the Himalayan Mountain Ranges!

I could be wrong. Or maybe ganun talaga ang lasa ng Japanese WATERRR? LOLSS

Deep fried Rosu (porkloin, with fat trimmings). Another version is Hire (tenderloin, without fat trimmings). This is a MUST TRY! When you visit the first time, try this and you’ll not regret it. Hindi complicated yun lasa…and not oily.

Closer look of Rosu. Now I’m hungry. This comes in 2 sizes, 120 and 180 grms. The meat is sooo tender. Yummy!

Yabu Special Katsudon Set. Served with unlimited Japanese rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, unlimited cabbage with sesame dressing and a bowl of fruit.

I ordered this on my 2nd visit. Huuuuge serving, nakakalula! More than 500Pesos per order but really worth the price. Waaaaah the prawn tastes soooo beautiful! I can still remember when I first took a bite. My eyes are popping out because it tastes glorious! HAHAHA napaka OA lang ng review ko! But seriously, this dish is MADE IN HEAVEN!

I never thought devouring on cabbage can be this good! This is not your ordinary cabbage. They’re perfectly shredded by manual tearing! Joke! One of the staff told me they use organic cabbage from Benguet. Nice. Their sesame dressing is very nice too.

I have yet to try their curry and menchi dishes. Sabi ni Ruthie and my boss, hindi masyadong masarap yun menchi…so I wont take chances the next time I visit.

Overall, I really had nice experience in all my visits to Yabu! My friends say the same thing. The staff are very consistent and accommodating and very attentive. When I called to reserve, Mon the manager even remembered me. Superb customer service!!! The ambience is very cozy, not very stressful and not very Japanese. I have to say their CR is very fun! The prices are a bit expensive but all worth it. Prepare 350 – 500P when going there. They don’t have a lot of food choices but it’s ok! Food = WIN! Plating is nice too. Yes it’s a little expensive than your regular Jap resto, but Yabu offers great value for your money! Next time you plan to eat out in a more expensive resto, try Yabu! They truly truly serve happy food!
