Why Do I Have A Collection of Glass Paperweights?

My collection of glass paperweights, and art glass, contains over one hundred cataloged pieces and dozens more that are not “official” in my collection. Glass paperweights are displayed throughout our home and beach house. I have purchased glass paperweights as souvenirs when traveling and I have been fortunate to receive many as gifts. Some are from well-known glass artists and some are massed produced items. My favorites have connections to my academic background in geography and science. I treasure my World Weights, but I am also fascinated by the “possibly inhabited world” weights and those that display biological themes. As
