The other day, I found myself craving for churros. Ingredients for churros in the pantry? Check! Started making the choux? Check! And then, I realized I did not have a piping bag, nor did I have any chocolate to melt for the chocolate sauce.

What to do, what to do?

And then, light bulb. I turned the choux into cream puffs.

It was my first time to make them and they were actually a successful batch. My daughter wanted a vanilla cream filling, which was quite easy to do, and my husband preferred ice cream in his puff. As this batch that immediately disappeared from the countertop can attest, even good priced title loans New Jersey has to offer can’t beat it.

Next time, though, I am definitely still making churros for myself.

This guest post from Edgardo Rosa

I am so looking forward to baseball season starting! I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember. When I was a girl, my dad used to take me to all the games, and we would keep our own scorebook during the game. He taught me to write down every play, and all the different ways to code the games. Now that I am an adult and think back on that, I realize how sweet that was of him. He still shares baseball with me. My parents have direct tv downey ID, and during baseball season, I go over there just about every night after work and we watch the game together. It’s a sweet time for us, and I know I will always cherish it forever. My mom usually makes us popcorn, or we eat ice cream, and we holler at the tv for a few hours, laughing and rooting on our favorite team. Some people are surprised to hear how much time I spend with my parents, but they are great.

I started <del datetime="2012-03-15T17:53:21+00:00">jogging</del> brisk walking a few weeks back and based on my progress I think I deserve a new walking attire, haha! My favorite items in their lines are their scuba hoodies and their bags (ok, what’s new?).

This is the Flow and Go Tote that I want. It’s going to serve either of two purposes for me: one, to put stuff in when I do decide to go to the gym, OR…two, to serve as my cute diaper bag! It’s roomy, its waterproof, its stylish, and has lots of compartments inside, perfect for the diapers and snacks (and that yoga dvd I’ve been trying for weeks to watch and follow, but have had no luck, haha!)

And here’s the jacket that I want, perfect for my brisk walks in the Springtime. I hope this will be motivation enough for me!

Thanks for the guest post by Esteban Vinson

It’s that time of the year again when I am trying to get everyone’s Christmas presents in the mail so that they reach their destination on time without me having to pay an arm and a leg. So today, I went to the post office with my direct TV bill that I needed to drop in the mail and two packages that were going across the country. I was totally floored with the cashier behind the counter said, that will be fifty dollars. Fifty dollars! I didn’t realize how expensive shipping had gotten. The packages were not really big and they were actually pretty light. I asked them to reweigh the packages and they came up with fifty dollars again. I decided that I would send the things economy shipping and not just priority mail. It only dropped the cost of the shipping price by five dollars. I figured that if I was going to have to spend more on what I spent on the gifts to ship them, I was going to spend the extra five dollars to get them there in a day or two. Next year I am getting small and light gifts for my family for sure!

I, my husband, and even my eight year old daughter are getting addicted to this game by OMGPOP. It was introduced to me by a friend (in Australia, as it were), when she challenged me to play against her (and her husband, and her son). And so it was, at first, it was just me. Then the daughter joined in, I on my iPad, and she on my Android phone. When my husband noticed that nobody was talking to him, he decided to try out what we were so busy about. And now, he’s hooked as well! He and his iPhone are inseparable now, waiting patiently when the “ready” button comes on. If you can’t beat them, join them. Just please don’t make me draw Christina Aguillera. Cats, dogs, antlers, I could do, but no airbrush tans even if my life depended on it.

I know some people would not consider this “quality time” but hey, we are bonding in the funnest way and its “Drawsome”!

Authored by Jacinto Miranda

Being a stay at home mom means I’ve got too much time on my hands at points which is really tough. I get more bored than I ever thought I would doing this job because it’s not like two 6 year olds need your undivided attention all the time plus now they’re in school a lot of the day anyway. I went to Direc4u.com to get some extra channels so I could take up some of the day that way and I actually took up painting which has been really good for my soul. I think there’s a lot of good that can come from being bored sometimes but you know, there is an old saying that idle hands are the devil’s work or something like that which has always scared me because I’m not sure what it means. I’ve got to find out what I can do to try to make additional money on the side while keeping my mind safe from falling to pieces because I don’t get to use it often enough!

I love to read. To whoever invented the concept of “Library”, thank you from the bottom of my heart. However, my local library is currently my one true love. They deserve a million trophies for being a high tech facility where I can easily borrow most of the ebooks that I want to read. I don’t even have to leave the comfort of my own home to browse and borrow the books because I can do all of that on my laptop or ipad. Best of all, all of it is free! I haven’t bought a single book in a long time, but I have read more books in a month than I did before in six months. I love it!

My ebook reader and its borrowed contents from the library.

I use the Overdrive Media Console App to browse, borrow, download, and read my ebooks. I have no complaints so far, although my husband says if only he could see me put down my reader sometimes so I could finish doing the laundry, hehehe.

Thank you very much, my library!

Do you ever have one of those days when you don’t want to do anything but lounge around the house in your most comfortable pajamas, coffee in hand, and basically do nothing? I’m having one such day.

Now that fall is slowly ushering in the winter season, I sometimes dream of long-driving it to the warm south, to sit lazily on the beach, pina colada in hand, and basically do nothing. But then, when I think of the responsibilities here at home, it’s just not possible right now. Besides, what if the vacation doesn’t go as lazily as I want it and I end up doing rv repair… no thanks.

I’ll just take my coffee, my jammies, my soaps, my warm little baby, and lazily do nothing around the house.

A friend of mine and I were chatting a while ago and our topic inevitably led to ‘flowers’. Specifically, we were comparing notes if our husbands took the time to give or send us flowers during special occasions. After much thought, I finally recalled that the last time my husband gave me flowers was on Valentine’s Day this year.

My Valentine Roses.

I was actually no longer expecting him to give me anything because it was a hellish day for him at work back then and I was sure he wouldn’t have the time to grab a bunch of flowers somewhere anymore. Deep down, though, I was a little envious of my attached lady friends because there were posting picture after picture after picture of the flowers that their significant others have given them on Facebook.

Then, doorbell. I opened the door to a semi-harassed but still smiling flower delivery guy. I actually think I forgot to thank the guy because I was so excited, haha! At last, I thought, now I can post pictures of valentine’s flowers on my Facebook profile, too.

My friend is as lucky as I am. Her husband never gave her flowers for anything before but, he had an officemate who did give flowers to his wife for no reason. I guess, it rubbed off on him so my friend now gets flowers any time for no reason, too.

Some guys don’t understand that girls do love receiving flowers, even though we say (or think) we don’t. Our husbands know this now and that’s why our relationship blooms.
