New Features: Restoration File Selection & Summary

We are very pleased to announce the myRepono restoration system has received a significant update which adds a wide range of new features and improvements.

Restoration File Selection

The restoration file selection has been significantly advanced to include three new file selection methods.

File Tree Selection

File Tree
The file tree selection method allows you to view all your backup files in a directory tree, enabling you to easily browse your files to select specific files and directories for restoration. Simply select the checkboxes next to each file/directory to add them to your 'Items to Restore' list.

Databases
The databases selection method lists your database table backups, allowing you to easily add individual database tables or complete databases to your 'Items to Restore' list.

Search
The search selection method allows you to search your backup for specific files or directories. Searches use a partial match compared against the full file path for each file, therefore searching for 'example', '.php', '/public_html/' and 'home/username' would all return the file '/home/username/public_html/example.php'.

System Downtime Report: 30th December 2011

Period of Downtime:

Friday 30th December 2011, 10:40 to 11:30 GMT (50 minutes)

Reason for Downtime:

A large log file relating to the mail queue caused a partition to become full within seconds, this caused the primary database server to respond slowly. This was detected at 10:30 GMT before the system was affected but the steps taken to resolve the issue caused the database server to go down. To prevent confusion the myRepono website and system were shutdown while the log file was removed and related issues could be assessed and resolved.

API Version 1.5 for Improved Compatibility & Reliability

The myRepono Backup API has been updated with numerous enhancements to improve the API's compatibility, performance, and reliability.

It is strongly recommended that all users update their API to version 1.5 using either the manual or automated API installation tools, or users running version 1.4 may be able to take advantage of the new API upgrade tool.

We are pleased to announce the myRepono system has been updated with a range of new features and changes which improve the usability of the system.

Domain List Filters & Improved Error Reporting

Domain Filters & Error Reporting

The 'Domains' section has been updated to include 'Active', 'Paused', 'Successful' and 'Failed' filters enabling users with large numbers of domains to easily filter the listings to only show domains which have successful or failed backups, or which are active or paused.

The 'Overview' and 'Domains' sections have also been updated to include a new 'Failed Backup' notification icon which replaces the 'Backup Status' icon if a failed backup has occurred. The 'Failed Backup' notification icon allows users to easily identify backup errors, which combined with improved error reporting removes the neccessity to review failed backup notification emails for additional debugging information.

Configure FTP Backups & FTP Errors

Domains: API: Configure FTP Backups

The FTP backup configuration process has been updated to improve the reliability of the automatic FTP path detection which can be problematic for some users, the 'Domains' -> 'API' -> 'Configure FTP Backups' section has also been updated to allow for changes to the automatically detected path. In addition, the 'Automatic API Installation' tool now provides a 'Configure FTP Backups' option to enables users to automatically configure FTP backups when installing the myRepono API.

The backup process has also been updated to provide detailed error messages for issues relating to FTP backups, enabling for quick and easy identification of FTP configuration issues.

New Features: Store 10,000 Backups per Domain Profile & Passive FTP Support

We are pleased to announce the myRepono system has been updated to allow for storage of up to 10,000 backups per domain profile, and passive FTP support has also been added.

10,000 Backups per Domain Profile

The myRepono system has been updated to allow for storage of up to 10,000 backups per domain profile, this is a significant increase from the previous limit of 50 backups per domain profile.

A range of pre-defined options have been added to the 'Stored Backups' setting in the 'Domains' -> 'Settings' section of the myRepono system, allowing users to select to store '1' to '60', '90', '120', '180', '365', '730', '1095', '1825' or '10000' backups. These values are primarily designed for use with 'Daily' backups to for example, allow for storage of '1' to '3' or '5' years of daily backups.

We are pleased to announce a new file exclusion rules feature has been added to the myRepono system.

File exclusion rules enable you to define search patterns which are checked against your file paths, if a match is found the file will be excluded from your backup. This feature is ideal for preventing the backup of redundant and unnecessary data such as log files.
