DIGIPASS for Mobile is VASCO’s authentication solution that leverages the internet enabled mobile phone for authentication and signature purposes in m-banking, e-banking, e-commerce and enterprise security. The application supports multiple profiles (retail banking, cash management, remote access, application security, gaming, … ). Menus, messages, logos, colours, font can be fully adapted to the service provider’s branding, supporting the brand recognition for the end-user. The menus also contribute to the mobile experience offering additional services such as ATM/branch locator, information services, etc.

IT departments will integrate VASCO server technology (VACMAN® Controller, VACMAN® Middleware IDENTIKEY® or aXsGUARD(TM)) and will assign for which applications (e-banking, brokerage, VPN, application security, webmail access … ) DIGIPASS for Mobile will be used. The user will then launch the authentication application on the iPhone(TM) by inserting a PIN-code. The authentication application will generate an OTP on the iPhone(TM). To sign the transaction the user will validate the OTP on the iPhone(TM). The solution is well suited to protect banks and users from Man-in-the-Middle attacks, considering two separate channels, the PC and the iPhone(TM), are used to sign transactions.

Adaptec, Inc. released the results of third-party performance testing of its new MaxIQ(TM) SSD Cache Performance Solution in MySQL environments. AppLabs, the world’s largest independent testing and quality management company, found that Adaptec MaxIQ (with MaxIQ SSD cache enabled) improved read and write throughput by eight times and increased transactions per second by 6.9 times when compared with a non-cached environment.

Adaptec’s MaxIQ SSD Cache Performance Solution integrates up to four tuned 32GB Intel® X25-E Extreme SATA SSDs, with Adaptec’s MaxIQ SSD caching software and its Series 5Z, Series 5 or Series 2 Storage Controllers to provide I/O intensive data center and cloud computing customers with cost-effective scalability and increased performance without disrupting existing operations. It is the first solution for building and managing High-Performance Hybrid Arrays (HPHAs) – storage arrays using both solid-state drives and hard disk drives – which dramatically increase I/O performance, reduce capital and operating expenses by as much as 50 percent, and can deliver significant savings in power consumption over hard disk drive-only arrays. A total of 1.6 million transactions were executed during each test run. These increases result in higher levels of performance, allowing data center managers to increase the number of users hosted per IT dollar, reduce the need for additional equipment acquisition and significantly cut data center energy costs.

Epson America announced new tethering capabilities for its award-winning line of multimedia photo viewers – the Epson P-6000 and P-7000. This new photo viewer feature, exclusive to Epson, allows photographers to instantly view and save images to the viewer as they are shot, streamlining the process of creating backup files and evaluating images in studio or on location.

Marvell announced the game-changing ARMADA(TM) family of processors designed specifically for next generation ARM instruction set smartphones, smartbooks, consumer and embedded devices, and displays. In addition to true mobility – from lightweight designs and long battery life – today’s connected consumers and enterprise users demand high quality, instantaneous personal entertainment, and content from a multitude of social-networking and other cloud-based services.

Software Support
