Our first design "Goal Digger" will be available this Wed.

I've had the opportunity and pleasure to have known Draymond Green aka '"Day Day" for about 10 years now, and he is plain and simple a WINNER! When he played basketball at Saginaw High School, we made the uniforms for them. They ended up winning back to back state championships his Junior and Senior year. They were actually the first team to win a state championship in the state of Michigan wearing Moneyball uniforms.

Draymond ended up attending MSU for the next 4 years and playing in the Moneyball Pro-Am during the summer months. He played in multiple Final Four's and earned Big Ten & NABC National Player of the Year honors his senior year. He is now playing a very important role in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors as they are off to a great start this season. All he does is win.

Not only have I been able to witness Draymond's growth as a basketball player, but I'm more so proud of the development that he's made as a man first and foremost. We've had many conversations over the years and his focus on hard work and loyalty are what stands out the most. The hard work that he has displayed on the court and his loyalty to his home town, MSU, and to those that truly know him are just a couple of his good traits. So even when people have doubted him over the years, it has been no surprise to me that he has put in the work to improve each year. He obviously had a great college career and is now building a solid NBA career which will lead him to a second NBA contract with a hefty raise.

As a company, we focus on building and maintaining great relationships and Draymond has been able to do the same thing with the people that he has come in contact with. With the great qualities that Draymond possesses as a man, he is someone that we will be talking about in a positive light for many years to come.

With that being said, we have partnered with Draymond to release an exclusive "Money Green" T-shirt. This all came about during this past summer when he played in the Moneyball Pro-Am, which he continues to play in since graduating from MSU a few years ago. Through conversation, we felt that it was vital to do something that would celebrate the great person that he is, and at the same time be able to raise some money for a great cause. The end result ended up being the "Money Green" T-shirt where partial proceeds from each t-shirt sold will go to a non-profit organization/foundation that Draymond choses.

This is for all those that work out, running those miles thru the streets or on the track, and on the treadmill, or getting that cardio on the elliptical...  And you feel that burning sensation deep in your stomach that makes you want to quit, as a matter of fact, your mind tells you to quit... but you fight thru it so you can finish.

This for those that are working on those abs and your stomach is on fire from doing more crunches then you did the day before, but you do it because you know that hard work pays off.

This is for all those that make "the ugly face" when being pushed to physical and mental limits, only to surpass some of their own expectations. These are the moments when you can feel and see the progress. Sometimes it takes moments of pain to be a champion in life.

We doubt ourselves, we believe in ourselves, we question ourselves, we have extreme confidence in ourselves...... 
These are natural feelings that can sometimes happen all at the same time. There comes a point in time where these feelings arise, all at once, but you have prepared yourself for the moment. At this point in time, there is nothing else to do, except "SHOW and PROVE" that you are ready for the challenge at hand.

I remember this moment happened for me at one of the most important stages of my basketball career. I had just finished up playing a short season of minor league basketball in the CBA, a season where I went months without playing for a team. I spent a lot of time thinking. Should I still be doing this? What would be next for me? Should I just start over at square one? Why haven't I made it to the NBA yet? All while maintaining my workouts and trying to stay prepared for any opportunity. I was in the car driving from Rockford, IL back home to Lansing, MI. I was soul searching and doing a lot of thinking. What's next?? Then I got a call out of nowhere from my agent telling me he scheduled a workout for me with the Portland Trailblazers with the opportunity to earn a 10 day contract. Wow! This came as a big surprise. Here I am, not knowing what will come next, and wondering is this basketball grind really for me.

Fast forward to 5 days later and I'm in Portland, OR, in a workout, with the Trailblazers, going against 3 other NBA hopefuls. I've prepared for this moment. This moment has been replayed in my head a million times. Me wearing an NBA jersey on an NBA court. I HAD to seize the moment. I HAD to KILL in this workout. All the years of preparation was meant for this moment. God placed me here. It was time to put the city of Lansing on my back, and concentrate on having the best workout ever! I did! I KILLED the other 3 guys in this workout. Inside, outside, 3 ball, everything I had worked on for years, was being put to use.

After this workout, I was chosen to play & sign with the Portland Trailblazers. After all the talk, after all the hard work, after all the days, nights, weeks, months, & years on practicing my craft, the mission was accomplished. When it was time to put up or show up, I had to "SHOW and PROVE" that I belonged in the NBA...... You've prepared for your moment, you deserve it, it is now time for you to "SHOW and PROVE"!

LANSING BASKETBALL PROS SUPPORT READING MONTH WITH BOOK TOUR

 Lansing, MI- March 11, 2013 - In celebration of National Reading Month, three former collegiate and professional basketball stars are participating in a local book reading tour to inspire and motivate local elementary students to continue to develop literacy skills. The reading tour will make appearances at 3 area schools throughout the month, Shabazz Academy, Lewton Elementary and Willow Elementary.

The readers are Desmond Ferguson, owner of Lansing’s Moneyball Sportswear, and former Portland Trailblazer along with his brother, Ron Ferguson, Sexton HS graduate and former member of the SVSU basketball team. “We are excited to revisit our schools and connect with the students on literacy and learning,” says Ferguson. Standing in for Kelvin Tolbert, who participated in its first year, is former MSU standout, Travis Walton.

“Being able to read is an important life skill. Reading has played a significant role in my development as a man as it is something I am passionate about and has allowed me to continue to learn,” said the Moneyball Sportswear owner. Community giving is nothing new for the Lansing entrepreneur, as Ferguson is a long standing supporter of the Lansing youth and athletic community with annual events including free basketball clinics and Professional-Amateur summer tournaments.

“[We]Hope to give back to the youth first and foremost in Lansing. To encourage the youth to dream, to believe in themselves and to set goals with ambitions to accomplish those goals and that you can be successful coming from Lansing, MI,” says Ferguson.

When I think of greatness I think of businesses like Ford, Apple, IBM, & Google. I think of those that have had a major positive impact on peoples lives such as Ghandi & Nelson Mandela. I think of people that have struggled thru adversity, managed to inspire others, and to eventually end up on top. I believe us as human beings should always strive for greatness. Although there is no such thing as perfection, practice makes improvement while having the goal of perfection in mind. Always shoot for the moon, because is you fall short, you land in the clouds.

It’s a rainy winter night in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The coastal town moves slowly as headlights cut through heavy fog. In the downtown core, cars search for a parking spot outside the Metro Centre, the shared home of the Halifax Rainmen, a National Basketball League of Canada franchise, and the Mooseheads, the local semi-professional ice hockey team.

Inside the arena, Desmond Ferguson lifts his 6-7, 225-pound frame from the bench. To his teammates, his friends and the fans he is known as Moneyball. It’s a nickname based on his ability to knock down three pointers—the moneyball (to continue reading please click here)
